Every time I showed up with the "deer in head lights look" I received amazing customer service from the techs that competed the work to guys up front and the few guys I chatted with at the free air service. One year later (time waits for no man) and I find myself back at this location to patch a leak. I think I came here a few months ago and bought a one-off tire due to a leak that could not be repaired. In and out in ~45 minutes on a Friday afternoon, the manager helping me (Bryan, I think?) was efficient, personable, and professional. I have a little life left in my treads so a repair was the sensible thing to do. In a couple thousand miles when 4 new tires are necessary, I know exactly where I'll be heading. I was able to get my car over to Discount Tire right away in the morning and Caleb, who I believe is the assistant manager, went out and took a look. The location on 99th avenue and McDowell is terrible. Colby and Moe will do whatever they can to upsell you, including making up fake issues with your car/tires. Do not trust this place. Go to an honest tire shop to have your services complete. First they tell me "we cannot fix your current tire because there was a patch in it already and the patch has a hole in it." So I say okay put a new tire but show me the patch because i bought the tires new and have never put a patch in them. Went to see the tire and surprise surprise, no patch. So Colby says "sorry about that we will get the tire fixed" so I come inside and tell Moe about the issue with his people making stuff up, Moe goes and talks to Colby and next thing I know Colby comes in and says "we actually can't fix it because it's too bald." They are using any tactic they can to get an extra sale. Be very weary of this place. read more

I would give this store negative stars if that was an option. My $60 tire sensor ended up costing hundreds of dollars more as the tech put 2 scratches into my wheels. Do you think he mentioned anything? Nope! I had to discover it myself when washing my care. If you happen to have nice wheels on your car I would recommend going somewhere else. I was told by the Honda dealership that I needed to have my tire patched due to a nail puncturing it. I made an appointment the day before and went in there. The guys were nice but we were shocked that the tire was not repairable - of course, I had to trust them. We wish we had gone to Costco instead because they are honest and would have patched up my tire. The guy said I only needed one tire, I told them I preferred two new ones so the SUV would ride evenly. We even asked to please put the new tires in the back. I wish we checked the tires but we had to go since we were there for over an hour. Later in the evening, we noticed the new tires were on the front right side and the back right side instead of having BOTH of them in the back! We were so pissed and called them but they were closed, and when we tried to leave a message - the machine said they had technical issues and couldn't let us leave a message but to call them on Monday. Sheesh! At least I got a small discount because I am a Hop Skip Driver - it would have been nice to have a bigger discount for all this trouble as I don't have much free time these days. read more

I walk in and ask if my tires can be rotated and balanced to an individual ( who just looked obtuse ) told me, as he was staring at his computer screen, it's going to be a couple of hours to complete. After explaining that I would go get something to eat this person (still staring at the computer) then told me it was going to be 4 1/2 hours .... no expression, no explanation, zero service delivery at all. read more

Update: Despite the salesman declaring he can beat Costco prices, his price for 4 michelins was $483 with 60k mile warranty. I am not sure if this was before or after tax. Costco was $399 out the door with a 80k mile warranty. Terrible service. I went in due to a low tire asking to have it aired up amd check for a leak. The guy tried to sell me four tires, dis not have 4 of my michelin tires in stock, and never aired up my tire. He said he "didn't see anything" on my tired regarding a leak. So, five miles down the road after parking I noticed the low tire still low despite stopping to have it aired up. then I found object clearly in the center of my tread, visible from 5 feet away. Had he even checked my tire and rotated it 360° one time he would've seen the object. I am glad I did not buy tires there. I will not buy from discount ever again and will keep going elsewhere due to the lack of service. read more

I never feel so helpless and vulnerable as I do when something is wrong with my car so when I got in my car to go to work this morning and it informed me that one of my tires was at 15 psi (It's supposed to be 30-32) I felt uneasy all day until I was able to fix it, mostly because going to any car related place as a single female is not a fun experience since they are usually sausage fests and the only girls who get treated well are the young, hot ones. That is why I was pleasantly surprised by this discount tire. They treated me, and everyone else from what I saw, with respect and professionalism. They were extremely busy and had to stay well past closing time and they were still very nice even though they didn't get any money from me (because it turns out that they put air in tires and patch them for free!) because they "wanted to make sure we were safe". There was even a guy in the waiting room who handed out tire gauges and was teaching people how to use them. I know it sounds dumb but I really appreciated their kindness during my somewhat vulnerable time and I will definitely only go to them when I need to replace my tires. read more

He giggled under his breath and said you are here for an interview looked at her crazy kind of rolled his eyes and said have a seat I'll be with you in a little bit. They have giggled and laughed at her because she was female asked her can you even lift a tire she said yes I've been lifting bells of hay my whole life. He kind of giggled told her the interview was over and he would be in contact if she gets the job later. She gets an email stating they went with candidates that had more experience there that we know personally that discount tire was their first job at 16 years old and never got this kind of treatment he was very disrespectful, unprofessional judgmental, and all around rude. He gave her the feeling that she is not good enough or cannot do a job that a 16-year-old boy could do not fair at all to replace them as a manager. or discount tire needs to step up and see who they hire as managers. Disappointed. Went in to change the spare on a Lexus GX470. The workers were hollering ridiculously - I get enjoying your job and singing to the shop music, but I was actually concerned that they were getting injured with the kind of screaming going on. Clearly, they were not taking the job seriously because they put a big ugly scratch in the bumper. Blamed it on the tool - unacceptable considering another DT location (currently closed) had no problems checking it out once before. Claim pending. Even if I came in with a beater (this car is very obviously well taken care of) why be so careless with the work? Will try to update if the issue is made right, some guy's recklessness is going to cost them a pretty penny considering the vehicle had ceramic coating. Will be going to a shop that takes pride in providing quality service next time. read more

Should have gone to another location, it started with they had no where to park. Then we were told an hour and a half to hour and 45 minute wait. 2.5 hours later they said we didn't have that tire in stock so you have 2 options buy a new different brand tire and have another location road hazard the damaged tire or drive to the other store on Camelback with 6 nails/screws in your tire, and then have to wait 3 more hours to get it fixed. We had concert tickets and couldn't do the latter. Went to the store on Camelback the next day and Kalvin fixed what Chip did incorrectly. Had we've been at the Tucson area stores they would have driven over to the other store and picked up the tire. But they know what good customer service is that's why we have spent over $6000 in the last two years on tires for six of our vehicle's, Discount usually has great customer service, not at this location though. read more

I came here with a flat tire that I removed and transported before any damage was caused. Went flat over night, I rolled the car 4 feet in my drive way to some shade because it's 110 outside and needs to take the wheel off. They told me I was lying and I needed to buy a brand new tire because I drove on it which caused "extensive" damage and it was sun rotted. . My car is brand new (-6 months old). Thankfully I went to the dealership and they were able to repair it on the spot and send me on my way. I wouldn't go here they are money hungry. read more

I've gone in a few times. Discount has earned my business for life. A buddy of mine recently purchase a used car. He wanted new tires. I told him get pricing anywhere you like but then go to discount to buy. They have the best customer service. A week later the low tire light came on so I run over to Discount and have them air them all to 37lbs. Next day light again scheduled 3pm appointment. The guy walks out to the car looking at it says I don't think it's a tire I think it's the sensor and they are kind of expensive. So I pop open the glovebox to see what James had done and to my shame and embarrassment there is the receipt for Big O, and he had rebuild kit done on the sensors. Discounts guy offered to take care of it for free since I was already there. THAT my friends is why Discount has my business for life. That's the latest story. Over the last 20 plus years I have many stories like that. Point is anytime you pull in even just for air, at that moment you are there best customer and that is always how to they treat you. Omg so I showed up at 6min til closing frantic because my tire was pulling and seemed like it had something wrong. Anyway I walked they were so helpful and it turned out the tire was dangerously splitting apart. They changed it out and check my tires. Certainly they could have acted burdened that I showed up so late but they were exactly the opposite they took time to show me what to look out for in the future! This team saved my family. I have been going to discount tires since 2002, This location currently Has Corey who I followed from the store near Arrowhead mall. Corey has been great for us over the past couple years and is always willing to help and give advice on my tire selections. I have always received top notch service from him and he is always fair and honest when dealing with this (overly picky and very particular) Customer.
