This review is for the discount tire on 12850 IH 10 W in San Antonio. I had to special order a tire that had been punctured by debris on the road. My other 3 were fairly new. I spoke with Jacob on Friday afternoon and by Saturday noon my tire was there. The installation went well. He even went above and beyond to reset my sensor. All the employees are so nice and professional even though they are installing tires in an area that doesn't seem to be air conditioned. After spending 950.00 dollars. For new tires. My tire light is coming on and wasn't before. My car is now vibrating it wasn't before. I'm super upset. I know they have warranty but it's not even 24 hours. I'm busy and can't get back till next week. also they didn't even walk me to my car because they were busy. OMG! Talk about a well oiled machine. If every business operated this well I would be ecstatic! The staff were extremely nice and accommodating. And most of all on time. It makes me crazy to have an appointment and then wonder if I've been forgotten. Then, because my college kid's car is inexpensive, I was grateful I wasn't being coerced into unnecessarily expensive tires. Finally, I have to rave about the wait. Recently I watched Indy car races. I was reminded of this as I wanted the mechanics get the job done in record time. Unlike some other places that have you drop off your car then call you 3 days later to say they're getting to it, I was promised a short stay and they delivered. Full disclosure: I've been a fan of Discount Tire for a few years, especially after they helped me out on a tire repair - when I wasn't even a prior customer! Had a choice between buying a new set of 4 tires here and across the street at Sam's Club. While Sam's was slightly cheaper, I brought a printout of their quote here and they handily beat it! Also, the lifetime tire rotation / repair / balancing makes it an easy sell. This outlet is very busy - success is it's own reward! - so I recommend making an appointment in advance and earlier in the morning. I came in, dropped off my car, walked a couple doors down to get breakfast, and as soon as I got text alert to pick up my car, I came back. Total time: 45 minutes. Also of note: they do have a waiting area, about 15-16 chairs around the edges of their showroom, but I'd bring a book or go out to lunch if you have the option. He told me both front tires needed to be replaced--and I genuinely appreciated his honesty and expertise. The service was fast, efficient, and kind. UPDATE PART DEUX: Chris delivered some of the information but not everything I asked to make an informed decision. Although I replied requesting specifics, there's been radio silence since. And the buy-back offer, while helpful, did not make a solid argument for doing a deal now. If this was intended to be the deal all along, I called it right the first time. UPDATE: I Just got off the phone with the store manager, Chris. He apologized profusely for his employee's approach. He better explained what his employee was attempting to offer, which was possibly to my benefit. We clarified what went wrong and what he wants to do to help make things right. So I'm giving them back a couple of stars based on past experience and the manager's sincerity. I frequently stop at this location after car service because my dealership often resets the tire pressures incorrectly. This store has provided consistent, quality service in the past. That's why I go back to them. This experience has always gone well for me until Tuesday of this week. My tires were over inflated and valve stem caps were missing. I asked them to reset the tire pressures and put on some cheap plastic valve stem caps to keep the TPMS sensors safe from dirt. When I left they had lowered the pressure of the driver side rear tire so much that I had to head over to Costco to correct it. They also did nothing toward replacingthe valve stem caps, even though the rep said they would. What he did do is try to sell me a new set of tires when all tires were well within acceptable safety minimums. After all I had just passed state inspection a month earlier. When I told him I did not have time or money to deal with that today, that's when the free service ended. While I realize there is always an implicit opportunity for sale in any inspection service, trying to cash in on half-worn (5- and 6/32nds) tires--including one that still had 9/32nds left--seemd unethical and downright greedy. Even their own tire report showed all tires to be green, which is good. Be careful going here. They are capable of doing good work but it all depends on who you get. read more

My daughter is on a streak of finding every nail or screw that is on the highway between her house and where she works. Actually, this is the third nail in less than 6 weeks. After talking with her, I told her I would pick her car up and get the tire fixed. The nearest Discount Tire to her location is this one. I went on their website and made an appointment for 12:15. I thought that time would allow me to get a quick lunch while the tire was being fixed. This Discount Tire is crazy busy. In fact, we had to park in a parking lot for another business. However, having an appointment made all the difference in the world. They met with us very quickly, examined the car, found the problem (nail), and said it would take about 40 minutes. I gave them the key and went nearby to eat a quick lunch. Before I was halfway through lunch, a text alert let me know the car was ready for pick up. I went back to get the car and was taken care of quickly on the paperwork. Nice job Discount Tire! My biggest tip for using these guys: make sure and make an appointment on their web site. My tire pressure light came on for the third time this year for the same tire. I was already scheduled to take my vehicle into the dealership for a recall so I just asked them to check out the tire too. They charged me $97 for the inspection and found nothing. The light came on again 4 weeks later so I decided to take it to Discount. I had to go on a Saturday but even with it being busy I was scheduled right away and given an (accurate) estimated wait time. They were able to remove a nail with the head broken off, patch the tire, and have me on my way in under an hour. Wait time was about 45 minutes for a walk in to patch my tire. I believe you can make an appointment though. Spaced out seating area so you're not right on top of people. Patch would have been free if they could have safely repaired it but unfortunately it was another issue. Be AWARE!!! N They don't deserve one star. Taking advantage of women! My 2023 Escalade was taken on emergency after hitting a pothole on NW military. I was with my 11month old child and needed to get help immediately and discount was closer to tow and get an appointment vs to the Cadillac dealership. I regret that decision! They inspected all tires and rims to make sure it was safe to drive. They ensured that they did everything to make sure my truck was safe to drive! They showed them To me, even asked me to come to the garage to show me. When they put one of the wheels back on, the dented my car. When they put the rim in my trunk, the rim was not protected and it scratched up the inside of my tail gate. The original tire replacement was the back rear tire. Prior to realizing this damage, When it came time to pick up my car, they drove my car up opened the door and rushed me to leave. The dent was on the driver side and they made sure I didnt see it. The door was opened by them, And the damage was covered.My son was already irritable after waiting hours after the second appointment (when they finally installed the new tire.) I got home and later my husband noticed the dent, with a clear as day hand print on the white vehicle from an associate. I drove it back the next day, and the store took full responsibility for it. Joey, and his manager. They advised me to contact claims department as damages were out of their hands. So that's what I did. Over a month later of conversing with them after providing all Documents and photos with evidence, the claims department wasted my time. The store denied all damages to their claims department. They had two different stories to my face vs their claims department. The whole scenario was just so unfortunate. I would never recommend, even on emergency to have your car serviced there. My parents have over 6 vehicles, and they have been customers for decades. The customer service is awful and they will tell you anything just to get you to spend thousands on new tires. I will NEVER give them my business again. Awful situation. It will cost me more to hire an attorney rather than repairing the damage myself. If I let this go, they will just continue to treat other customers like this. More and more damaged vehicles. Corporate companies like this have enough money to screw over clients. They don't care. I got two badly needed new front tires for my car. The staff was so friendly and I got a good price. I'll definitely be back again.

Took a brand new vehicle this morning at 8AM for a screw removal and they scratched/dented my rim. Then they offer a marker to fix your scratched/dented rims before they say you didn't check the rims so it's your fault. I specifically told the staff who checked me in to not remove the tire from the rim bc of this very reason. To let me know, if needed, to avoid the issue above. Once they remove and "inspect" they take your tire off the rim and say they have rubber on their machines to prevent issues but fail to mention they use a steel bar as well. Adrian submitted a claim and have to wait 2-3 business days. No accountability taken. I'll update if they take ownership of issue and resolve with adequate resolution. read more

I arrived at 8:20, got checked in at 8:33 and it is now 8:54 and I am still waiting for my car to get illegal into a bay. I had to cancel an appointment I had at 9:40 because I believed them on their process. So if you make an appointment be weary of it being on time. They took my vehicle in at 8:56 for tire balance, rotation and wiper replace. My car was ready at 9:05. Had a great experience here today. Walked in at 12:30pm the day before a major holiday and I was out with a new tire and new tire sensors by 1:30pm. The staff was so helpful and friendly. The facilities were so clean and spaced out well. I chose to sit in the outdoor seating and walk to a nearby restaurant to get lunch. Loved being able to check-in and get in line via my phone from the comfort of my car. I also loved the text updates on my car's progress. A truly great experience that I would recommend. Best team. Employee informed me they wouldn't patch or do anything unless I bought new tires. They said it was too dangerous. I pulled a loan and decided to buy these tires. I informed the man I was interested in getting a big tire size. He recommended a size and I strictly told him, I don't want a tire that rubs the fender well, he said no problem these will not rub at all, almost a guarantee. 2600$ later and they rub horribly, dude straight up lied to me to make a few more bucks. 1 star for sure. I then called, and the man who answered the phone was very helpful and said they had them in stock, and that they don't take payment online. Apparently, the reason they don't let you pay online is because they want to pull a sales pitch. Brought a fleet vehicle in to be serviced for a balance and tire rotation. Figured out that one of the tires had gone bad and was causing a bad vibration, which was no big deal just need to be replaced. Watch the guys replace the tire, but they never did the balance or rotation on the rest of the tires. Also proceeded to watch the workers recklessly roll around other customers, wheels, and tires letting them slam on the ground. Long story short, they never completed the service I asked for it to begin with, and definitely need to make sure their employees are taking pride in their work and respect the customers vehicles as if they were their own. read more

Trust. Trust is definitely something I want to feel when I'm about to make a big purchase such as buying new tires. The guys at Discount Tires (sorry I didn't see any ladies) are very honest and extremely helpful. I mean SUPER helpful. They try to find rebates / deals to help you out with costs. I've been here 3x now and every.single.fricking.time I arrive I am always greeted with enthusiasm. The guys in the garage are blasting some upbeat music to keep them pumped. Service is fast; especially if you make an appointment. If there is a long wait - they will inform you. Integrity, efficiency, and passion are definitely demonstrated here by the employees. I took my vehicle to Chevy Freedom because it was due for oil change, rotation, and all that jazz. Well, Chevy Freedom gave me a passing grade on my tires. I didn't believe them. I needed air in my tires and took it to Discount. They first told me about the Tire rot at the filling station. My vehicle started shaking and I didn't want to go back to Chevy Freedom so I went to Chevy Castroville and they also told me I had tire rot and needed my vehicle to be balanced. I ended up taking my vehicle to Discount Tire where Zachary helped me out with the whole process which was quick, easy, and super efficient. Went to discount tire on Culebra and Tezel Appointment was at 9:45. Got there at 9:30 for a flat tire. Car was supposed to be ready by 10:30 was not ready till 1108am when I got there, my car was parked in the street in front of a sign that says tollway zone no parking on the side. Talk to the assistant manager manager that was there today, May 18 and told me that when they're going to tow a car most of the tow trucks go inside discount tire to ask him if it's OK if they tow it that's the funniest thing I've ever heard I don't believe that they would go in and ask. I don't believe that discount tire would've saved my car or if I had gotten a ticket from a police officer that they would've taken care of the ticket I can't believe how they don't have no respect for my car or my business when I'm taking it to them to take care of my car. read more

4 years ago I was treated as if I didn't know anything and nothing has changed. They broke my tire pressure sensor years ago while replacing my tires and then told me the sensor would just adjust when I asked why was the light still on. I came by the other day to figure out what to do and I told the man the sensors acted up the day my tires were replaced so I know it was then, he said "There's no way we could break the sensor when replacing a tire. Those are completely different things. What would we get out of breaking the sensor?" I told him I knew for a fact the store had a history of breaking sensors and he backpedaled and said, "Well yeah that can happen." I asked if he realized he contradicted himself a minute ago and he had the nerve to ignore that and tried to move on lol DONT COME HERE. Very disappointing experience today at Discount Tire on IH-10 at DeZavala Road. I took my brand new 2021 Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye in for new wheels and tires all around. Spent over $3,300; ultimately, the fronts did not fit, which is fine, so I had to bring the car back. After replacing all wheels/tires, I took all four of my old wheels/tires home to clean and put away as spares (the Hellcat doesn't come with a spare). To my disappointment, two of my wheels are gouged on the rear of the barrel, and one of my virtually brand new (4000 mile) Pirelli P-zero Summers has a large fresh gouge taken out of it. I called about an hour later and spoke to manager Jordan, who asked me to bring the wheels back in for them to take a look at. He stated that the wheel damage was probably their fault, but wouldn't commit about the gauge left in my tire (see attached pics; the cut portion is clearly clean of brake dust, indicating it is fresh damage). He told me to hang tight while he contacted his manager (Justin), as they have a place they take wheels to for refinishing. He comes back out to inform me that his boss, Justin, wishes to simply use a touch-up pen to fill in the gouge marks (and of course, the tire gouge is simply my problem). These SRT/Hellcat factory wheels are very expensive, and my Pirelli's were in great shape (practically brand new with 4k miles on them). Very sad to drive away with damaged wheels and a shoddily-performed touch-up (he didn't even prep the surface with a solvent to clean off all of the surrounding brake dust that was present). The fact that I can bring in a car worth $90k and have them damage it, and only offer a touch-up pen (and nothing at all for the tire) is simply unacceptable. I paid for the full coverage warranty on all four tires but, unfortunately, I cannot ever bring this vehicle to them again, as it is not worth it if I leave with more damage every time they touch it. The employees working here are performing this work entirely too quickly. On Wednesday, they literally dropped my OEM/Mopar lug nuts on the ground from waist height instead of simply setting them down. There are people running around constantly and yelling to each other that they have to get this or that car out (they actually said that about my car on Wednesday when the work hadn't even begun on it!) This is how little care is being put into the work performed here, from my observation. They also did not know how to lift the car correctly; a Hellcat is NOT designed to be lifted by the pinch weld. I'm frightened to find how badly they might have messed up my brand new wheels during the mounting process, as I'm going to replace the brakes on all four wheels in a couple of weeks. Bottom line: if you care about the job being done as fast as possible, without due regard for potential damage to your vehicle, or recompense for such, this is the place for you. On the other hand, if you have anything remotely nice and would like to keep it that way, avoid them at all costs. Management doesn't care, thinks they can damage my wheels and tires and that a parking lot touch-up job with a paint pen makes us even; I'm afraid to say it does NOT. read more

Wife dropped car at 4:00 with appointment for simple small nail in tire. She left car there and I got calls about 40% tread in back and 60% tread in front suggesting new tires in the back. "I appreciate the information, but today we just need the nail plugged." Sales guy continued trying to sell me 2 tires and again I repeated myself. Silence on the phone then a third time asking me to at least let him give me a quote. I again repeated myself. 30 minutes later the app sent me a text saying car was done. 30 minutes later I got a call saying their compressors broke and the car tire wasn't touched or completed yet did we want to pick up the car now or leave it overnight to schedule a time for tomorrow. Why did I get a "Your car is done ready to go!" text. Never got the nail repair completed. One big mess. Avoid this location more concerned with upselling vs simple tire repair. read more

I went in to get my tires rotated on my 2022 car with 18,000 miles a couple of months ago and the man told me after they rotated them that I needed new tires soon . He told me the manufacturer puts on cheaper ones for a smoother ride. He then recommended falkentires. I said but that's what you're replacing. They're supposed to get 50-60 ,00 miles . I basically just drive hwy to and from work . I checked them and they have 4/32. I sent my friend to check her low tire 2 months later and they told her she needed new tires !
