I bought some higher end tires for my 2018 Mini Cooper and the ride home was rough so I checked the air pressure and the tires were at 57, and 58 PSI yet only rated for 40 PSI max. After releasing 20 PSI the new tires had huge amounts of tire roll to the point of it being to dangerous for the freeway. Unfortunately I already put some miles on tires and waited to long to make complaint so I'll be eating the cost, so lucky I don't need to be on freeway. read more

All the time he was head down typing away on one of their computers. Whether it was a dating site or solitare, he was not going to be interrupted. Last time I will go there probably ever. Now before I went there the service was great the men were very nice checked my air in my old car tires and i was very satisfied so I went back for in this photo below what looks like a nail in the threading of my tire.... Why did this last dude have me sit there for two whole hours just to tell me they couldn't do anything about it because if they pull the nail out it'll affect the cords in my tires and stop air flow making it dangerous to drive on, TOOK MY TIRE OFF AND PUT ON MY SPARE, instead of checking the bottom/inside to see that THERE WAS NO PUNCTURE HOLE IN MY TIRE AT ALL!!! My tire light wasn't even on until they put on that doggone spare and so I took it to Toyota where I got my car and they told me my tire is COMPLETELY FINE and put my tire back on. They had the nerve to tell me anywhere else I go will probably tell me the same thing and that if the other places try to sell me a tire to circle back to them for a better price ... they're money hungry. Earlier in the week, I swung by--as I had done when I've bought tires from them before--but I couldn't find a place to park. After driving around for about 10 minutes, I drove back home, looked them up online, and noticed that I could order the tires I wanted online, and schedule an appointment at the same time. Pretty straightforward process, *if* you know what tires you want (I did). Unfortunately, the appointment was nearly two weeks out, and I really wanted the tires sooner than that. So I went by yesterday evening to chat with them about options, but had the same problem with parking and gave up. I woke up early this morning, found a spot on the street (their parking lot was already full), and went inside to find over a dozen people in line. It took about 30 minutes to get through the line. However, once I got to the counter, I told Leon--who had helped me in the past, and was a nice as ever--that I was hoping to get my tires sooner than two weeks out. He did a quick check, saw that the tires were arriving that afternoon, and asked if I could leave the car for the day. No problem with that at all. By the end of the day, I had my new tires, and I was a very happy customer. I think Discount Tires has remarkably good product, good prices, and good customer service. Their prices are quite competitive; same as Costco, where my mom was getting the same tires for her car. But, Discount threw in wiper blades, so ultimately, Discount was cheaper than Costco. (And my mom won't be getting her tires for at least 3 weeks!) I really only have two complaints: First, parking is dismal. That prompted me to come by multiple times. Fortunately, I live close, so it was possible. If I lived further away, I probably would have given up and went somewhere else. I found out *after* I got my tires that I could park in a neighboring lot. Would have been nice if I knew that *before* all my trips back and forth. Second, lines in the store and wait times are quite long. I don't think there's much they can do about the second: good product with low prices is going to increase demand. I think lines come with the territory. You just need to be patient. The first complaint, however, I think is addressable, and I knocked a star for that reason. Ok where do I start. I used their online tool to book a tire replacement two week out so I would have a quick and easy appointment. 5 days before the appointment they cancelled it. No reason given. I called the store and stayed one hold for more than an hour the next morning. They don't answer phones. I know that because why it was ringing I eventually just drove there and watched as they ignored the phones to slowly slog through a line of 20 people. I left, I didn't have another hour to sit in line. I called the regional office to ask if they could look at my order issue. They could not. I called some customer service number, they said they'd work on the order with a manager for me. That never happened. 3 more 45 minute calls later I finally got someone to pick up. They said I could be a Friday walk in. Yay!! Friday at 10am I came in, spent an hour in line, gave them my car and they said I could wait. They failed to mention my car wouldn't even start service till 5 pm. I noticed it on a mobile text message and so I took my car and drove home to finish work and came back at 4:30 with my wife for a hopefully quick turn around. We sat there till 6:15. My car was supposed to be in the shop an hour before that and done at latest 6. I asked for an ECD, told me I had another 45 to hour wait. My wife had to Lyft home because we were 15 minutes late to our commitments. Look, this is a busy shop, they are understaffed, burnt out, don't give a crap. Your 30 minute tire replacement is going to take 6-10 hours if your life away as well as the stress and the disruption. Do yourself a favor and don't even think I was the exception. I was in the waiting room with 7 people 45 minutes after the place "closed". You can do better literally anywhere. Why would you do this to yourself? I never will again. read more

A sincere shoutout to Nahshon (possibly his last name based on my service ticket) at Discount Tire who serviced me this morning. As someone who's constantly on the go, I recently got a baffling flat tire and dropped into Discount Tire's Northgate location hoping to get a quick fix. Though the place already had a line a bit past the 8 AM opening, I made it to the front counter where I got checked in, inspected (he spotted an actual screw embedded in the tire), and added to the queue very efficiently. He also gave me a text that linked to a real-time view of the service process. I decided to wait it out at a breakfast place nearby, and before I even finished my food I got the notice that things were ready for pickup. When I picked up my keys Nahshon gave me a brief report of what else he found, confirmed things were patched up, and I was out the door. All in all this took less than 2 hours, and best of all, they don't charge for tire patching. I was very pleased with the courteous, efficient service and would recommend them wholeheartedly for anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation. read more

Avoid this place unless you have time to waste. I made an appointment over a month in advance and when I got there 12 people were in line ahead of me. Not sure if any of them had appointments. Took over an hour just to check in. When I went back to pick it up, same thing. The 2 guys at the desk were very nice and professional and I'm not sure they are to blame, but the manager or owner of this place needs to have a line for SCHEDULED APPOINTMENTS and PICKING UP DONE VEHICLES. Another thing I couldn't believe is the service advisors actually answered phone calls when they had an over hour wait line up in front of them! Some of these calls took several minutes while everyone waiting stared laser beams in disbelief. The most important person to a customer service agent is the person standing in front of them. So I drive in to this branch of Discount tire in Northgate ar 545pm on a snowy Tuesday as my tire pressure gauge kept lighting up and I was worried I would get a flat in the snow. I asked politely if they could check my tire pressure so I could make sure my tires were ok to drive home. The attendants who I asked and without even considering anything says to come back the next day as they were closing jn 10 minutes! Got my tires replaced here, no issues. A few months later, I came in to get one flat tire replaced, which got done sooner than expected. However, as I was driving away, I noticed that another tire, one that was perfectly fine the day before, now had very low pressure. I had to wait another hour for something that was a new problem created while trying to fix the original one. Eventually, I was told that nothing was wrong with the tire, but they still didn't say why the pressure mysteriously dropped while they had it before. I went here recently to get a new set of tires put on my car. I have to say I was very impressed. When I called to make an appointment the week prior, they were very understanding and fit me in as soon as they could. I appreciated that. When I arrived, Terry was the front desk person who assisted me. He was very kind and took a look at my car. I told him how often I drive, etc. and he got me a good deal on my tires. Initially, he quoted me a higher price, but then got me a lower price. I really appreciated that, especially right after the holidays. I arrived at 9 a.m. and he told me they would have me out by 10 a.m. They actually had me out at 9:40 a.m. which was great service. Everything was secured and the tires look awesome. My car rides much smoother thanks to discount tires and now I will be able to finish running my Holiday errands without having to air up my tires all the time. Thanks Discount Tire! Customer service has gone down hill. Previously had no difficulty honoring price match from Costco. This time Nathan, the manager, refused to honor a price match from Walmart. The discount would have amounted to 10% off, or $25/tire, on $255 tires. He chose instead to claim that Walmart is closing their auto business with clearance pricing but provided no evidence to back up his claim (a rumor that has persisted since 2010). He also claimed that they do not honor price match for any prices that may fall below Continental's minimum advertised price (MAP). Note to Nathan-- Costco and Walmart pricing are nearly always below MAP and require the consumer to "see price in cart." Your branch previously honored these price match requests. What customers can easily surmise is that Discount Tire, an industry leader, does more tire sales volume than Walmart and should be able to price match a lousy 10% just one week ahead of Black Friday. From the Discount Tire website: "Our Low Price Guarantee At Discount Tire, we work hard to deliver the lowest price on all tires and wheels we carry. If you find a lower price that we've missed, we'd like to know. We'll beat the competition's lower, installed price, and will work to offer you the best deal. We will not be undersold." To his credit, Nathan did offer a whopping $10 off a $255 tire, or less than 5%. He also offered to switch me into retail pricing on cheaper brands with inferior reviews. The low price guarantee appears to be more of a sales lead bait and switch than reality for this branch. So much for the "Discount" in Discount Tire. You also have to love the email signature with "Pay It Forward." I guess that's more of a directive to customers than a customer service motto? Will likely wait for Black Friday deal they will be forced to honor (purchase made entirely online) or take business elsewhere. I would also like to note that this branch will no longer patch a flat tire like Les Schwab and any warranty you might hope to receive is an upsell certificate even on expensive brands that already have manufacturer warranties. read more

Super reliable service and, almost as importantly, unlike some other places, my appointment time meant I would get service at that time which meant less needless waiting around. After getting tires with these folks, they'll rotate/rebalance/plug/etc. your tires for free which is awesome. They'll also check your tire air pressure and fill it whenever you happen to be nearby any of their stores. The only problem I had with them was when their wifi refused to connect properly which meant I couldn't work while I waited which was a bit of an issue, but at least I didn't have to wait long. read more

They checked the tire and determined the bit didn't make it through the tread and the tire was fine. They pulled it out, checked pressure and the rest of the tires, and i was good to go. This place has never done me wrong, nor have any of the other Discount Tire locations I've been to. Seems like I'm here every other month having a tire or two checked out because we have such rampant new construction (Crane City, as we're called) that it's inevitable I'll run over a few nails or screws here and there. I never really have to wait very long at the Northgate location, mostly because I'll make an appointment online. On Friday when I was making an appointment for yesterday I noticed there were a lot of open appointments in the afternoon. As I don't like to get up early on weekend afternoons, I thought, GREAT! And then I remembered the Seahawks playoff game was at 1:30, so I took the 10am appointment. Considering how badly the Hawks played, I would've been fine taking the 2pm appointment I saw. At any rate, they told me I had a nail and they plugged my tire, juiced up all four, and I was good to go in a half hour. Huge bonus that there's all kinds of shopping and restaurants nearby, in case you're there for a while. read more

Then they say, "they're higher priced but worth it." That's where the comparison to Discount Tire stops. DT does everything LS does and doesn't charge an arm and leg. I've found them to be honest, communicative and the best legitimate price on tires in Seattle. One thing I do wish they'd start practicing, though: When a person comes in to pick up their vehicle after service, have a way of getting them through faster. Or! If you already have a way, tell the customer ahead of time how to avoid the walk-in line to pick up your car. Then I will change the review to a 5 star. Other than that, they're great. read more

*screeech*......it was time for new tires!! Before coming here, I looked online to see what they had and found a brand & type I liked. It wasn't in stock but I was able to place an order to the store and set an appointment a week later to have the tires installed. Got a call from this shop about an hour later to confirm my order etc and set up payment options. Forgot the employee's name that called me but he was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the product but didn't know my appointment time I had chosen online, so I had to reconfirm. Saw that my credit card was charged a few days later but I didn't freak out. Called the shop the day before my scheduled appointment to see if they got the tires in and if they still had me on their to-do list. Tires were in but again I had to tell them the time & date I was coming in. When I arrived, there was a dedicated line/desk for "appointments" only so I went there and they had my appointment and was ready for me. Confirmed my particulars and gave them my keys. They said with appointments it would be an hour max. About 50 minutes later, they were done and I peeled out in the parking lot to show them my appreciation. (I didn't). Staff was very friendly throughout the entire process including the courtesy call from my online order and arrival to the shop. Overall, it was a pleasant experience getting new tires. read more

Arrived at the Northgate Discount Tires for my scheduled appointment. They had a check in protocol set up in the parking lot. Easy. After checking in, I followed the greeter into the office and paid. I was then directed to return to my car and someone would come get me when a bay was open. That only took a few minutes, but I was confused when the person approaching my car wasn't wearing a mask. I was pissed when he got much closer than six feet, maybe two to three. I interrupted his instructions to ask why he wasn't wearing a mask. "We don't have to wear them here," he replied. "Yes you do, there's a state mandate," I replied. He replied back that it didn't apply to them. That's all I needed to hear. I returned to the office and got a refund. I don't know why Discount Tires thinks it's exempt from the mandate and I don't know why it doesn't care about the health and wellness of its customers. But, what I do know is that I can make a statement with my business - and with my Yelp review. read more

My 2014 Ford Focus needed one new tire on the rear driver side so we bought at Discount Tires. Before installing the new tire, my car did not have Tire Sensor error. After Discount Tire installed the new tire, the Tire Sensor error popped up in my dashboard. I told Discount Tires about it and they said to bring it back in maybe it was just a dead battery. So we brought our car back, they inspected the sensor and they said that it was dead and broken. I told them that we did not receive a tire sensor error before but only after their installation of the new tire. I told them that they have damaged the sensor and they should fix it and cover the cost. Discount Tire won't admit that it was their fault that my sensor got damaged. So I had no other choice but to pay them $67 to get it replaced. I paid for something that was not my fault at all. Waited 1hour until they brought the truck into the shop, then they refused to do the rotation due to "safety concerns " even though the front tires were more worn than the back. Last Friday was not my brightest moment. At 5:30 p.m., I discovered that my car sitting in my home driveway had two completely flat tires. I had just driven it the night before, so this was an abrupt change. I quickly tried to inflate the tires with an at-home inflator, but it didn't work (almost certainly user error!). Thinking fast, because any tire shop that could help me was either already closed for the night or, in Discount Tire's case, closing at 6, I noticed some minor damage on one of the tires and immediately decided they must have been slashed! I limped the car down the street to DT and arrived just minutes prior to closing. Despite my tardiness, Leon and his team were so kind to me from start to finish. I bit the bullet and was gearing up to buy a whole new set of tires, which they had in stock - and Leon told me his team could stay late to install them for me that very night. (Wow!) But, plot twist: Thankfully (but embarrassingly!), it turned out that someone must have just messed with the air in my tires, not slashed them, because when DT put the tires in water, they had no leaks - despite that they had gone completely flat overnight. Leon and his team inflated my tires for me at no cost and refunded the cost of the tires I had unnecessarily paid for, all with smiles on their faces, even though I had kept them late for no reason. This was one of the best customer service experiences I've had in years, especially as a non-car-savvy woman in a tire shop. Leon and his team easily could have allowed me to pay $800 for a new set of tires I didn't need and not corrected my error. I had a subpar experience but everyone I dealt with was professional. The tires I wanted were a special order so I ordered and made my installation appointment over the phone. You should make an appointment if time permits. The wait with one was about 1 hr compared to about 3hrs without one. Since they do not perform alignments in house, I also made an alignment appointment at another nearby shop for the following day. My appointment was later in afternoon so by the time they finished, it was already dark. I looked over the bill when I got home and noticed that the extra warranty had been added on without my consent. I may have opted for it anyways but it would have been nice to have had some input on what I was being up-sold. I have 10 days to cancel so it wasn't worth making a huge deal about The next morning I went out to inspect the tires before my alignment and noticed they had installed incorrect, lower performing tires. It's a little hard to believe given that my tires were a special order. At worst it is malicious but I'll assume it was carelessness--not what I'm hoping for with a technician. Fortunately my work schedule is flexible but this is extremely frustrating. I had to cancel my alignment appointment and headed back to have the error fixed. Again the sales rep was friendly and got my car in "as soon as they could". This was still a 1.5 hour wait. Since I had to push my alignment, what was supposed to be done by 11 took my entire day off! There was no irreversible damage but the sum of the entire experience has left me looking for a new shop for my future tire needs. read more
