Boycott immediately Complaint Regarding King Auto This complaint is not only about the harm I experienced as an individual consumer. It is also important that businesses in our communities are held accountable when their practices may take advantage of people. including men, minorities, and consumers who may already be financially vulnerable. Deceptive or exploitative practices can cause serious hardship, and addressing them helps protect other members of the community from similar harm. DO NOT BUY HERE! My livelihood is at Jeopardy due to thi situation. I purchased a 2020 Buick Enclave from King Auto Sales in Detroit on September 4, 2026. I was told the vehicle had been checked and that nothing was wrong with it. Approximately 10 days after purchasing and financing the vehicle, the check-engine light came on and I was informed that the catalytic converter is bad. I immediately contacted the dealership expecting them to stand behind a vehicle they had just sold me. They refused to take responsibility or help resolve the problem. My concern isn't simply that a used vehicle developed a problem. My concern is that I financed a vehicle believing it had been inspected and was in good condition, only to discover a significant issue almost immediately after the sale. I am now documenting the vehicle's condition, obtaining an independent written diagnosis, and pursuing the appropriate consumer complaint process. DONT considering buying here, protect yourself. Do not rely solely on verbal assurances or a vehicle-history report which is created by them. Them refusing to let me Take the vehicle to an independent mechanic of my chose should have been my answer to not buy here. before signing anything, have the computer scanned, ask for the emissions-readiness monitors to be checked, and get every representation about the vehicle's condition in writing. A dealership's customer service shouldn't end when the paperwork is signed. How a business responds when something goes wrong tells you just as much as the sale itself. They also refused to give you copies of contracts! I also want women considering doing business here to be aware of my personal experience. During my interactions, I experienced comments and behavior from the salesperson/dealer that I considered sexually inappropriate, unprofessional, and disrespectful toward me as a woman. I came there to conduct a business transaction and purchase a vehicle--not to be made uncomfortable by sexual comments or behavior. Between that experience and the dealership's refusal to assist me after a significant vehicle problem appeared approximately 10 days after my purchase, I am extremely disappointed with how this transaction was handled. Women especially: trust your instincts, keep your interactions professional and documented, and don't be afraid to leave if you're made uncomfortable. I am sharing my personal experience so other consumers can make an informed decision. I will update this review if the dealership takes meaningful steps to address these concerns. I took it back up there and let them try to resolve the issue with them returning in the car to me with the same issue after they kept my car for a day and half. Made an appointment for 4:15. At 5 pm the truck was still not started and when I complained about it they told me they were busy. That's why I made an appointment so I didn't have to wait hours. They finally got the truck in and got out about 5:45. When I got home I looked at truck and noticed that they chipped the Crome of the edges of all the rims. I went back the next morning and talked to the manager and he told me they didn't do it. My truck only has 36,000 miles on it and doesn't go out in the winter and not to often in the rain. I had just cleaned them before I took them in and they were perfect. They are THE worst discount tire location I have ever been to. I was lied to, told I needed things I didn't need, had the insurance just added to my bill without my permission and the first guy I dealt with just started ringing me up for two tires, when I needed just one, lug nuts and insurance as well. It wasn't until I talked to my boyfriend who knew that they were royally screwing me over and totally lost his shit and then I finally got only what I needed and I also had to tell them that they could refund my the road hazard insurance that I never approved of. It didn't end there either. I called repeatedly because they never answer their phones and when I finally got through, I asked them to leave the keys in the car so my friend can pick it up. He said they would. My friend got there either then he though he would, a little after 6 and the keys were not in the car as I was told. If my friend hadn't gone to get it earlier them he was planning, I would have been screwed. Their response to their carelessness and I professionalism was, don't you have the spares??? Seriously?!? Like GTFO!!!! Why don't I have my friend run to my house and grab my keys at 630 at night so that you can keep my original keys and ce to my house and steal my car, since my address is on file. They were absolutely HORRIBLE. A total embarrassment to the company but I'm sure the company doesn't even give a shit. I definetly won't be back. read more

I took my car there because I had a flat tire I was greeted by one of the employees he looked at the tire and he said oh we have to inspect the tire first and see if the there's no damage on the side. right when he said that I told my wife, this guy is a crook watch he's going to tell us you need a new tire. an hour later, I received a call from them and guess what the guy told me oh the tire is too damaged. The hole is too big to be repaired and there is damage on the side of the tire from the inside that we are unable to repair so you have to get a new tire. I can tell he was lying from the way he was stuttering when he was answering my questions. The tire only had 16,000 miles on it I guess that's why they advertise a free flat tire repair so when you take your car there they sell you a new tire because they know you have no choice. What are you gonna do drive out of on three tires? i've been a discount tire customers for over 35 years and I am very disappointed. I will never take my car there again. I'd rather go to Walmart and pay 20 bucks to fix a flat then go to discount tire and cough up $200 for an unnecessary new tire. read more

I stopped the car checked The tire and found a piece of metal in it. Losing 5-6 pounds of pressure I called around to a couple tire stores. One was closed. Belle Tire explained they were too busy to look and it would be 3 days. Now this was the day after Thanksgiving, so I understand everyone was busy. However calling Discount Tire , they explained to me they were very busy however we plan on working late until all are work orders are done. This business practice is what elevates the good to mediocre. It wasn't about the price, this was about the experience and going the extra step. Complete waste of time. I stopped in to the Shelby Township store on Tuesday to have them check my tire sensors for a suspected bad sensor. The employee scanned all 4 tires and as suspected the rear sensors were bad. They were not able to fit me in to change the sensors so I had to make an appointment. I made the appointment 2 days later for Thursday. When I showed up on Thursday to have the work done, they told me they couldn't service the tires because they were over 10 years old. (Tread is still good, summer only car). I dont have an issue with the fact they have a no service on tires older than 10 years. My issue is this should have been addressed on Tuesday when I brought the car to them the first time. The employee was literally kneeling next to the tire while he scanned the sensor. So I left work and drove down to the store twice for nothing. I would have expected better from a company that specializes in tires. read more

I came in yesterday because I had a flat tire on one of my winter tires. I had my all season tires in the trunk to be exchanged. One of the all season tires wasn't good so I ended up buying 2 new tires, that were not in store and had to be ordered to be delivered later in the day. I had a family emergency and had to leave so they just fixed my winter tire and made an appointment to come back the next day. I paid in full on that day. When I returned the next day at my appointment time I was told I still needed to pay for installation and I didn't have an appointment that day and it would be a few hours. I told them I wasn't going to pay any more money and they could just refund the money i paid the day before. Clay told me that he wouldn't charge me anymore money and would do the job I paid for the day before but it would be a few hours. I told him that I had an appointment but he couldn't find it in the computer. Then he didn't "check" me in. So everyone that came in for their appointment or anyone that walked in was taken before me. I am still waiting 2 and a half hours later and my car is not done! read more

I took my vehicle here for a tire repair. After waiting around for three hours I was told they could not fix the pin hole in my tire. Fair enough, but then I was told I needed 2 new tires...to keep my vehicle balanced. The quote was $445 for the 2 tires. While the sales pitch was not high pressure and they did not charge me to look at the tire, I was in a pinch and did consider the purchase since I was getting ready to go on a long road trip. I've always gone to my dealership for tire repairs/replacements because I purchase the tire package for my leases. This time, Chrysler couldn't make any time for me so I had to find something better. I called Discount Tire and they let me know that they could contact my tire package insurer if I needed a replacement so I said cool and showed up! I was greeted by Brad after he was done servicing another client. He was super nice and let me know up front how the insurance on my tires would work and also assured me that if it was just a repair, it would be free. I learned today that this was a Discount Tire thing but I was pretty frikkin mind blown! Free?!?!? Anyway, I brought my 2 dogs with me and Brad let me know I could bring them in while I waited so we hung out in the AC. My car was ready in about 20 minutes and the tire was completely repaired. This was after I've asked (twice) for them to be cautious, leaving me to believe the second offense was malicious. Now working with corporate to see how they can make this right. The guys here are always great- I've gotten four tires replaced here just from nails, and they knew my name before I even told them. Yes, places like these can take a long time to have your vehicle serviced, but even when they're understaffed, they do their best to update you with the progress. Because Discount Tire shop was down street from the office, and colleague recommendation, stopped in for 'free air check' (to have air pressure checked on all 4 tires). What a mistake. Though location seemed to not be busy at time (1:30p on April 30) it took about 10 min to be waited on. Staff member was friendly enough, made small talk, & even shook my hand. As it turned out, one tire was low, so I'm glad I stopped in. Went back to office only to find that 2 of the 4 valve caps missing....both on side of vehicle that only technician went on. If 1 missing, maybe accidental, but 2 from same side? No, we won't be back nor recommend to other co-workers. Don't want to take chance for something more serious. read more

Thanks to Geoff and Brian we had the best service, product, deal and care we could have asked for this weekend. My husband had done a little research and knew the product he wanted, Geoff made sure to find him what he wanted and win our business by offering some promo dollars towards the purchase. A win! then a concern about the spring on the car and Brian from the service team eased some stress about that. Just a great way to take care of something that can be a major headache. I recently bought four new tires before the previous winter at a different location. I woke up to a large screw in my tire a few days ago and decided to take my vehicle into this location on my way to work. The service was quick and friendly even though they were SLAMMED busy! No one seemed stressed out or rushed. I waited in a short line, but more people kept coming up from the garage to help with the growing line in the lobby. I ended up leaving my car there for what they quoted as 2 hours to determine if my tire needed a repair or replacement. They had my vehicle done within 90 minutes and called me to let me know that jt was finished. They were able to repair the tire at no charge to me and everything is as good as new! Highly recommend. Honest! I never thought I would use that word with a retail business but honest is the perfect word to describe this business. Last week they fixed my flat. Except throughout the week the tire had a slow leak. I took it back. They said they would take a look at it and find out what's causing the leak. The tech came back and explained the initial patch was done incorrectly and cannot be patched again. The tire cannot be saved and because it was their error they will replace the tire. Wow! I'm still in shock because he really could have said anything and forced me to buy a new tire. Mistakes happen and they owned up to it. I am so impressed. I will never go any place else for tires. Have Ford tire extended warranty and almost all Ford service centers are closed on weekends and the one that was open said I would have to leave my car there till Monday. He recommended me to go to a local discount tire and I came to this one. Not only did they squeeze me in to their extremely busy schedule but they repaired my tire instead of talking me into buying a new one which I thought I was going to have to and the biggest surprise was that they didn't even charge me for it. So I woke up having a bad day that was getting worse and this discount tire turn the entire day around and got me in and out in an hour even though the original wait time was two hours. In this day and age its so difficult for businesses to find good employees and good customer service, but discount tire has accomplished it!!! Ivan, sales mgr, handled the transaction and scheduled my follow up appointment for install. Install went very smooth. Had a 10am appointment, and I was out within an hour. Went and asked for a tire rotation. I forgot I needed my tires rebalanced too so I went and asked them if they could do it. The person working on my car (don't know his name) was really helpful and had no problem doing it for me. Another employee by the name of Luke looked in his computer to see if he can do it and told the guy working on my car they can. After that he turned looked at me and rolled his eyes and gave me a dirty stare. I don't appreciate that because I don't know much about cars, let alone tires. I had a 12pm appt for all 4 tires to be replaced. I signed up to receive a text when my tires were done and my car was ready. I was also waiting in the lobby for it to be done. At 3pm, I finally went up to the desk to ask when my car would be done. The person at the desk stated the car has been done. No one called my name to state it was done. I never received a text to say it was done. Needless to say, I don't know how much additional time I wasted in my day that my car was just sitting there.
