The service here is terrible! Plan on waiting in line even IF you have an appointment. They need atleast 2 more counter people... Bought 4 Goodyear tires for my truck. Happy with the tires and the warranty they provide. Just plan on standing in line and WAITING FOR EVER. Your best bet is to drop your car off and come get it in the evening. However even doing that you'll be stuck in line for an hour. read more

I should have written this review along time ago since these guys have been great to me every time I visit them. When I bought a set of tires for my truck, they worked with me on the price and worked in a promotional gift card. When I have had a flat, they fix it for free. When I only needed one tire replaced (it had 4 patches from nail punctures) they sold me one tire...exactly what I wanted. On one occasion they went out of their way once to find me a replacement chrome lug nut for my Chrysler 300 (not an easy or cheap item to come by) that someone had stolen and they gave it to me free. These guys are one of the best tire companies I have ever dealt with. They are friendly, fair and knowledgeable. They don't try to pressure sell you at all. Today I got a FREE tire rotation and was in and out in less than 15 minutes. I highly recommend you check them out. read more

Stopped by today for a price on tires and walked out 50 minutes later with 4 new ones, installed. No high pressure sales, gave me exactly what I wanted at the price that I had found on the web with no hidden fees. Best price for the grade and size of tire I was looking for - 25% cheaper than other places that I had priced in the area. Customer service was top notch. I was able to watch all of the work being done to my truck as well as the vehicles serviced before me. I describe it as organized confusion. Everybody had a job and when somebody got behind somebody chipped in. It was a well oiled machine. I especially liked the fact that my lug nuts were torqued. They sell tires and wheels. Don't go in looking for any other car service. Maybe McDonald's should go back and look at how they used to run the hamburger business. Stick with your core business -and do it well. I had tires put on my car today. They didn't tell me I was paying 150.00 for add ons that i didnt ask for. I didnt know I was paying for tire rotation at $65 extra or did I not know that I was paying $65 for tire replacement neither of these were discussed with me before I bought my tires they were just added on I seriously think because I'm a female they thought that they could get away with that well I guess they did get away with it because I didn't even look at my receipt until I got home shame on me it won't happen again and I will never go back to Discount Tire I seriously think they treated me that way because I'm a female if I could have given you no Stars that's what you would have given this company. This store is great. I spoke to several guys on the phone and in person. They matched the quote I got from Sam's Club and a rebate only Sam's Club was advertising. Sam's Club needed a week or more to order the tires. The guys here had the tires and put them on in under an hour. The one star reviews on here look like they were done by critical assholes. Mismanagement and broken promises Bought $800+ worth of Michelin tires on Apr 29, 2013 at your Surprise, AZ store on W Bell Rd. Joe was great and brought car to my home a mile away, as I am under doctor care for an ailing back. Returned May 9 for vibration issues and rebalance. Vance said it would be a while, and he would come get me at home, same as Joe. I told him I could probably walk home OK, but doubt if I could walk all that way back later. Vance called an hour later, said car was done but they were busy, and could they bring the car at 6:00 when they closed. I said yes and thanked him. At 6:00 manager Tony called me and said they don't deliver cars to homes (news to me!), and actually ARGUED with me for nearly 3 minutes, not letting me talk or explain what his staff had told me. I finally gave up and reluctantly walked back to get the car. Took me nearly 30 minutes to walk back, cutting through a large dirt commercial lot to save a few steps. There was no one in the office to greet me, although there were still customers around, but no sign of Tony. Found my keys on the counter, unattended, took them and left. Saw Joe in the parking lot and told him what Tony had said, and Joe said he would have been happy to give me a ride, and to talk to him next time. There will be NO next time. As a customer for nearly 3 decades, I will never buy another tire from your stores again. read more

The store AZP-51 has been noting but Horrible to myself and my family since they opened. We previously contacted the store stating that after the work they did on our Escalade the lug nut cover was broken after never having any issues prior to their work. The store manager had called us and said he was apologetic and that he would replace the cover since we had been customers with all of our vehicles for many many years. Well he never did. Yesterday I took my Vw beetle in because we had a screw in the tire. After they removed the tire they had told me that the tires were at 5 and 6 and at a 4 they would need to be replaced. They then discussed the specials they had on tires ect. I said no I just wanted to fix the screw. Well it was too late the man had taken a flat head screw driver SHOVED it into the tread and removed the rubber to show me the wires underneath. He walked out with the screw driver STILL SHOVED INTO MY TIRE! I was livid and told them I would not be buying a new tire or the one they offered to me that was used. They assumed if they destroyed my tire I would purchase. He then told me he couldn't for safety reasons they would not put that tire back on my car so he would give me the used one for free. I told them my daughter worked for a dealership and I could get new ones cheaper from her. He then slammed her work and suggested they would only be giving me a deal because they would be giving me bad tires and I should consider that. After returning home I realized that the tire they had given me was a michelin filled with air, my tires are pirellis filled with nitrogen and I would need the tire they ruined back. When I went back to the store (20 min later) they couldn't find my tire. While I waited for them to find it I heard one man on the phone with another discount store bragging about how they "had sold more tires and made more profit." No surprise there with their shady antics. Finally they found my tire and then told me that since I wanted it back they would need theirs back calling it now a loaner tire. What happened to it being free? I did not even want their tire. All I wanted was for them to patch mine and not destroy it so they could try to force me to buy something from them. This was apparently too much to ask for. How is a store like this still in business? I am distraught and angry, where do we go from here? read more

Never. Again. I came in here this morning because my tire was flat. Was told it was shredded in the inside and needed to be replaced. I was given a complete sales pitch run around about tread depth and told that I should come back in another 5,000 miles because I should really have all the tires replaced at that point. I've had these good quality tires, purchased at Firestone, for ONE YEAR and they're trying to tell me I need to replace them within the next 6 months on the premise that "high performance tires don't last that long." Of course Discount Tire is going to try to convince me that their competitor's tires won't last me more than a year and a half! This guy Henry talked fast and in circles, giving a hard press on my needing all new tires, even after I told him repeatedly I had just spent $750 on new tires and would not be replacing them any time soon. The kicker was as I left, when the mechanic who changed my tire told me unsolicited that my other 3 tires were not only GOOD tires, but were also in GOOD condition. I suspect that if I had had a man with me when I walked in, this would've gone differently. Shady sales tactics turn me off and I will never go back to this place again. read more

This is the 3rd time I have been to Discount Tires. 2 times for new tires and today for a rotation and to fix a leak in a tire purchased this fall. Each time I have been there all of the employees are so polite and professional. My only complaint is that I scheduled my appointment online and still had to wait an hour. I understand today was a busy day, but I believe that if you take time to schedule an appointment, you should be put in front of walk-ins. Besides that, I will continue to go to the Surprise location because they have always been polite, respectful, and professional. read more

My tire kept going low, I tried to air it up but it was not staying filled up. I noticed a nail so I took my car to Fletcher's Tire on Reems. They told me I had to buy a new tire and it was going to be $400 and I would have to wait three days because they had to order it. I did not have $400 to spend because I just bought my car brand new 2 days prior and use all my savings for my down payment. I left Fletcher's Tire and drove to Discount Tire on Bell Road near the Culvers restaurant hoping they had a tire in stock that was my size. They were very busy but I was in and out within an hour and a half. The technician told me they could repair my tire and it was not something that would cause the tire to be replaced. I appreciate their honesty because they just saved me a lot of money. Apparently they do not charge you to plug a hole in your tire because when he gave me my receipt so I can pay for the service it was free. I gave the technician $20 to show my appreciation. Great place, I would definitely go back in the future. read more

These guys are fantastic! We had a blowout on the free way. After putting in the little spare tire, we made our way to this shop. We made it there at 6:04 and they close at 6. They guy came out and checked out the car and noticed that the other front tire was also damaged. They decided to let us in and they helped us out which meant a lot to us because we needed the car the next morning to get to work. Okay..I'll show my age.. Do you remember when Jiffy Lube first opened and you went in and got you oil changed and were blown away by the speed and professionalism that they provided? You shook your head wondered why it always used to take so long to get your oil changed when you took it to your mechanic... After my visit this morning.. I'm now thinking the same thing about my past tire purchases. I arrived at 8:10 AM to saw the flurry of activity already going on around me when the store had just opened. I thought .. well this was going to take a while... I was helped quickly and professionally and offered a bottle of water as well. I was told that it should take about 20 -30 minutes. So I strolled next store to Einsteins to grab some breakfast and a coffee, and I could see my car being taken in and the work being done by more than one tech at a time.. 20 minutes later.. BAM Done! When I saw the fresh cover up I brought it to the attention of the staff. They denied any responsibility and said they would forward the issue to corporate. AVOID THIS LOCATION. Went yesterday to have a tire checked that's been leaking air and was told that I had to replace it because of position of the nail that I had picked up. I was ok with that and they prorated my new tire. The guy who handed me my keys and paperwork as we were leaving started talking about how I should take it to either Brake Masters or a place on Glendale that their own techs use to have the lug nuts checked because they were difficult to put on. He kept repeating "it's safe to drive." It's a 2009 with high mileage, so I just said ok. I had them rotate the tires while it was there, so I asked which tire was the new one (they're all less then a year old). We walked around and he pointed at the front passenger tire. Last night while out front I noticed that they BROKE a lug nut off of the front passenger tire. The whole thing is completely gone. My bad for not noticing that while we were standing at Discount. I have three cars registered with them, I've bought all of my tires from Discount. I am amazed and shocked that they broke it, didn't tell me, let me and my kids get in the car and drive away. Needed a new set of tires for my 04 Sequoia. Called around diff tire shops here in surprise, including Big O tires. After getting a quote from Big O, decided to compare to Discount Tires. Not only was the gentleman I spoke with courteous and professional, he was very knowledgeable too. Being a woman I sometimes feel stuff like this, aka car maintenance/tires I don't know squat about. Of course I had my husbands guidance, but for the most part I made the calls, asked the questions, etc. Not only did Discount Tires let me know my options, the also price matched Big O. I'm not saving $ I say, but the tires were by far a better quality than Big O. Made my appt for that same day, showed up 15 mins early, checked me in right away. Made sure my price match was in the computer, and it was! They took my keys, I took off , they called me when done ( about an hour), everything was handled in a timely, professional manner. Discount Tire is entering the "upsell" market. Have been a customer for over 20 years of north phoenix location. First time here at the Surprise location. Went in for flat repair of tire purchased from Discount 8000 miles ago from another store. Was told tire is un-repairable as puncture was in side wall. Have road hazard so paid difference on new tire that has to be ordered and is 4 days out! Its a stock F-150 wheel and tire size. Then was told my lug nuts are bad and needed to be replaced because they are "bulging." Bulging? I asked him to explain this because I've never heard of such non-sense. He said over time they bulge and distort- My truck is a 2012 with 52,000 miles. He showed me a lug nut which has zero distortion of its original shape but has scuff marks on the polished tin that is pressed over the actual nut to give it a matching sheen and more aesthetically pleasing shape to match that of the wheel(It comes this way from the factory). I'm no rocket scientist or lug nut-ologist but this was absurd of him to attempt to sell me on this. I refused and was told that in the future I may not be able to get the lug nuts on or off if I have a flat because they have "special tools" to remove these. Then comes the TPMS sensor. I was told that TPMS sensors must be replaced at all tire changes and they are not rebuildable. I also disputed this and was told Discount cannot sell tires without doing these but I pressed on and refused this service to which the employee deleted that line item from the invoice. Best part was the item description on his computer screen stated "TPMS rebuild kit" but he said they weren't rebuildable. My sensors are the factory sensors and I will not replace things that are not broken. Same with the lug nuts, so if you encounter this stand your ground this is nothing more than attempts to doop consumers into un needed repairs pushed by a fear mongering that the world will end and you will die if you drive your car without these things. To note; my tire is not punctured on the side wall either, I drove into the shop on it low on air and I am keeping it for my spare tire, having it repaired at Llanteras tire shop $5. Nail is in the outside of the tread which Discount now calls the side wall. Sad Discount used to be the place to go, not so much anymore. read more
