I ordered my tires on Discount Tire direct.com and had them sent to the Vancouver Discount Tire I spoke to a sales person at discount tire.com and he encouraged me to use the store as my installer. After ordering the tires online, both Dustin and Jarrett called me and told me NOT TO have the tires sent to their store for install, and that there was a potential they could be sent back. We finally worked through that, but I was perplexed as to why the website only listed Discount tires as installers when the employees don't want the business. I was told that people who buy tires online install them themselves. How many people have a tire machine and balancer in their garage at home? Why should I have to explain why I bought my tires on their website? Then when I arrived to get the tires mounted, I was questioned again by Shawn about why I would buy my tires on line - even thought it was on the discount tire web site. After I paid $80.00 to have the tires installed and balanced, they mounted the wheel weights on the outside of my rims. After the initial conversations, they were friendly, but still got me by putting the weights on the outside. I will never buy from discount tire again. read more

Let's see if I know where to begin here. I've been an ABT customer for many years, and had my share of "ugggh" inducing experiences, but this one finally pushed me beyond being able to return to them for business in the future. My vehicle picked up a nail in one of the rear tires. Darn! Realize the tires flat, fill it up with air, everything is good to go. I took the wheel off the car and brought it in to ABT to get the hole patched on Saturday. They told me it would be done in about an hour, I was stoked. Fast forward a couple of hours, I had run over to portland for some errands and planned to have the wheel picked up by a family member. She goes in to get the wheel and calls to inform me that they claim the tire was driven on too long and was beyond repair, and that I would need a new tire (this tactic seems to be one they use frequently according to other reviews), I feel like I was a target because it happened to be an AWD vehicle, and they know if I buy into the one new tire, I'd need to replace all four of them or risk burning through a diff or my trans. They bait you in with "free flat repair", but don't be fooled. I told my mother (whom was picking the wheel up) to just take the wheel and leave, we'd take it to another shop to have it patched up because they were clearly full of crap. Another thing, no one called to tell me any of this, they were just waiting for me to come back to pick it up so I would be stuck waiting there again. All four tires on my car have 60-70% tread left in the first place, and this so called "too badly damaged" tire had no sidewall damage or cording showing at all. The person I spoke to on the phone (apparently the store manager, Greg Wabs) spiel about how it was illegal for them to even put the tire back on once they think it's too dangerous to drive on. What?! So my car is stuck on jack stands in the garage at this point, I was already on borrowed time with the current vehicle I was using, and all the other tire shops were closed on Sunday. Magically, I was able to find a locally owned tire shop to patch the tire up, and was informed that it still had plenty of life left in it (SHOCKING). These people will sit here and scam you because generally, people will believe them and buy into their scare tactic. If you are someone who knows little about cars, save yourself some money, and take it to a smaller tire shop. They're more likely to be straight shooters, and won't be looking to bleed you dry. read more

I've Never gotten bad service at the Americas Tire I used to go to back home. As someone who works as a driver in Orchards and lives in St. Johns (Portland, mind you), my tires take a lot of wear. I was down to the wire on these ones. Two were bald, so bald that I had to sign a tire waiver last time I got my oil changed. A third, you could see the metal under the rubber. As I was working, one of my tires popped. I started calling around and this place was the cheapest I could find. I was going to get 2 tires, and a third when the next check came in, from the quotes it as the best I could do. When I got there, the salesman I talked to told me that he was prepared to do just about anything in his power to get me a third tire. He looked around for a used tire to put on. When he couldn't find me one, he brought my price down on a new one to $10 more than I was quoted for the 2. I like that and always find great prices on tires and wheels. If they don't carry the wheels or tires you like they'll find the same wheel tire brand for you and beat that price! Their great customer service always served me well especially knowing someone back in high school who worked there for the longest time ever, thanks man! Also great service in their extended warranty on tires my GF had 3 nails in her tire at three different times in Three different tires they taken care of it and air check all 4 tires before leaving the store! I perhaps get free air check every week, I air down when off-roading here OR/WA trails and come next day to inflate from 20psi to 35/40psi in my 4Runner, they also sold me KO2 tires which I am proud in purchasing from them!! My wife came home from work, and as she was coming into the house noticed her front tire had exposed cable in it. Her tire could have blown at any moment. I called America's Tires, as that was where we bought them originally, and they asked me to bring it in. We arrived 4 minutes before they were supposed to close (on a Friday). The manager worked with us and for a greatly reduced cost, we drove off with 2 brand new tires. No one complained about when we arrived. No one gave us any trouble about the damaged tire. Today my car alerted me that I had low tire pressure, so I took my car into Discount Tire for a Free Air Check just after 5pm. I pulled in and was immediately directed where to park, and was spoken to and serviced in less than 5 minutes. Johnathan took care of me, and asked if I had any questions or concerns before they began the tire service. I asked how long it would take and if my tires had any chance of popping. He reassured me that there was no chance they would pop, it would take about 5 minutes and I could wait in my car with the car on. After the service, he told me exactly what they did and why they set the tire pressure as they did. It was a wonderful experience, and Johnathan was a pleasure to work with and very educated. Awesome service!!! I was helped by two different guys named Chris and they're both super nice! I will definitely go here for my next sets for each and everyone of my cars! I was turned down by my dealership, Les schwab, Goodyear all at the same day coz I ran over a screw very close to the edge of the tire. I had called around and came back to American Tires (on 192nd, Vancouver) and what I was finding out is that a tire is one price, but then they add rotation and installing, I'm not sure what other fees where for. So the last call I had made to American Tires I asked " So is there any other fees on top of the price of the tire?" and he said "yes said it would be nearly 30.00 more" than the price I was quoted, which was out of my price range that I could afford. He said he would just do it for the price I was quoted and apologized for the rep. that quote the price without explaining the additional fees, as he was new to the company. Well I got there and I had another tire that was bald, the manager said I can't let you leave with that tire still on there and he had the guys put another one on at the same price, but i didn't have the cash for it and said to pay him back when I could. Defiantly, never going to another tire store again. Also I have to add that, I lived in California and as a young adult I would take my car to them and they always made sure I left with what was needed to make it safe, even if it meant losing a dollar on me. Great Service throughout, from here to southern California. I owe you big time Brian. Thank you again, I will be back. Truly they do pay it forward. It's nice to see that the same standards from another state, nearly 10 years ago are still in place in this company. I was shopping for tires for a 2003 KIA that I was preparing for sale. I tried the Les Schwab store on SE 118th in Vancouver first. I asked for budget tires. The salesperson got my tire size off the vehicle and quoted 4 tires at almost $400. Yikes. I decided to try Discount Tire Store and I'm happy I did. The very helpful salesperson measured the tread on all 4 tires and advised that the rear tires had plenty tread left, and I only needed front tires. Wonder why Les Schwab couldn't do this? The store was VERY busy but I was greeted and helped right away and my car was ready to go in less than an hour. And I saved $50 over what 2 tires from Les Schwab would have been. Have used the discount/America tire chain for several years. Great service and prices. Whenever we've taken our vehicles in they check the tires for free, and are always willing to work on you with prices. One time we needed all new tires for our truck but they were pretty expensive for our budget at the time; we wound up only paying for 3 and getting the 4th, the full warranty, and installation for free. A couple months ago I bought new tires for my SUV and talked to them about rims. The guy we worked with put a note in the computer for next time we came in to do the rims free of installation which would have been about $100. We take our cars here every for scheduled rotation/balance and whenever the air is low. Service is great and I've recommend them to several people, helps that there's always a location nearby too read more

Went in today with high expectations, and they were met. Left with new tires, custom wheels, and studded snow tires to be mounted on the old wheels for when winter comes back. Appointments are a joke, they are always at least 20 mins late. I clearly specified a certain tire pressure, which is also clearly stated on the sticker inside my door, and they inflated to 4 different pressures, all very wrong, despite assuring me they would be correct this time. They failed to do the "Relearn Tire Position" sequence which is necessary on newer vehicles. So after going out of my way to have them rotate my tires for free, as I had previously spent almost $1000 there on new tires, I ended up having to fix all my tire pressures and relearn the tire sequence when I got home. I've never walked away from any branch of these stores feeling that I am 100% satisfied, there is always something done wrong. I can only hope they managed to torque the wheel nuts properly... read more

I stopped here to have a flat tire repaired, the time was 5:55 PM and the store closes at 6:00 PM. When I asked one of the workers for help I was told they were closing, apparently they don't actually stay open to 6:00 PM as advertised. Poor customer service. read more
