One tire was losing air on my vehicle. I made an appointment to have it fixed. I'd picked up a screw in the tire. They plugged/patched the leak and rotated my tires for no charge. They were quick to turn the car around, and communicated before/during/after the appointment via text. Come here for a set of tires, folks! I had a great experience with them. read more

On 12/27 I had a tire appointment for my jeep and it was damaged during the services. The employees said nothing to me about damaging my vehicle and then have been barely helpful and not taking into consideration my vehicle is older and there isn't an abundance of replacement parts so now I just have to drive around in a damaged vehicle because they don't know how to work on cars. This is completely embarassing to have employees with the lack of knowledge on how to properly lift a vehicle And no decency to inform a customer that they messed up. My tires should be free as my jeep is seeming to be unfixable do to parts so thanks a lot discount for ruining my jeep and still charging me. read more

I had an appointment that I had made online, and they were able to get me in early. Worked to make sure I felt comfortable and taken care of, and let me know when I had a damaged tire, rolling it into the waiting room so I could see what was going on. Very helpful staff & they didn't treat me like a stupid woman, I didn't feel like I was being taken advantage of, they didn't try to upsell me. Staff are friendly, professional, and have great knowledge about their products. I burned up the inside of a tire right before Christmas. Nick helped me get an inexpensive tire to get me through until I could afford all 4. When I returned in 3 weeks to get all new tires they bought back the temporary tire at full cost. I've been going to this location for years to get air put in or fix a leak, this is the second full set of tires I have bought here & I will definitely continue going to them for all my tire needs!!! Wow, I never thought a tire place could leave such a great impression. The customer service is off the charts. They are super responsive and helpful in every way. They didn't have my tire in, but gave me a loner until mine arrives so that I can drive my car without worry. It's was very cold this morning and the tire pressure in all four tires was low. Dropped in at Discount Tire in West St.Paul and asked for help and the answer was no problem sir, we got you! The service tech checked the four tires out, added the appropriate amount of air pressure. Checked my tire tread and gave me a recommendation on when to replace the old tires. At no cost! The tech was pleasant and courteous. the work was all done outside at about 6 degrees with a sub zero windchill. I've been a customer for years. Never once have they not delivered excellent service. The prices are great, the lack of communication is the problem. Dropped my truck off at 10 am and at 4 pm it hadn't moved then the so called advisor behind the desk shows me 16 people still ahead of me. So in 6 hours no one could communicate to me that they could get it done. Basically wasted a whole day, that pissed me right off. Then the guy was shocked when I said give me my keys, I'm not going to sit here for 3 hours when you had 6 hours already and couldn't get it done. I will never be back. I used to be a huge discount tire fan. The customer service was outstanding and they always had great deals on tires. I don't know what's changed in the past couple years but none of these things are true now. I purchased my tires here and they come with free lifetime rotation/balance so I try and take advantage of it. Except, every time I go it's somehow always an hour and a half wait for a job that takes less than 10 minutes. On top of that, this location in particular has ruined the bolts for 2 of my hub covers and they've done nothing to remedy their mistakes. I've contacted corporate about it who just forwarded me on to the local manager who refused to replace the bolts they ruined and ended up making it my problem. It's appalling to me how little they care about making things right. read more

I've been to the Discount Tires in maplewood, woodbury, and this location. I have always been impressed by how courteous they are. Usually when you go to a "discount" store, they cut costs by hiring from the bottom of the barrel and doing very little training. I have never gotten that impression at Discount Tires. Hot tip: schedule your appointments online. I visited recently and there was a difference of 1 hour turnaround time (I had an appointment) vs 3+ hours for walk-ins. read more

Ordered, paid in full, and made an appointment for new tires. Website indicated they were in stock at another store and would be at the Robert St. store in time for the appointment. When I went in for my appointment, they said there were none in stock and suggested I buy another tire at a higher price. Maybe if they could have offered me another name brand tire at the same price I would have been OK with switching. I had done a lot of research. WHAT REALLY STUCK in my mind was that earlier this summer, my son did his research and ordered 4 tires for his car and he couldnt get his either. They upsold him to another tire and even charged him for the hazard wtty without telling him first. I've been a previous customer for both of our cars, but that was when they had a different manager. Everytime I have something done to my car a bird takes a big crap on my windshield like it's just eaten at the bell. Better the windshield then me. I guess it's traditional now, because this is like the third time it's happened. Maybe it's a sign? A sign to not wait until the last minute. With the winter storm looming and the upcoming trip to Chicago I figured I'd better get the two front tires replaced. I'm not in a big hurry when it comes to shelling out money for all things automotive, but I had to get them replaced. Called them at 8:15 am they gave me an appointment for 8:30 am and got be out of there by 9:10 am. These guys are really quick, personable and knowledgeable and didn't try to weasal me into something I didn't need. With my purchase I received the free life time every 6,000 mile tire rotation dealy. Who knew you had to do that every 6,000.I'm sure many know, but I didn't. Oh well. Awesome customer services from the call phone to in-person service. Called in last minute to see if I can get in to get new tires. He said if I can get in before closing time. 15 minutes later, I was able to get there with one minute before closing. Got four new tires and changed spare in 36 minutes. I spent $900 to get new tires for my 98 chevy truck. I ended up going back to get them remounted 4 times on top of my initial visit because they didnt seal the beads on my wheels. They kept claiming it was because "they were old rims" I had mounted tires on the several times including 12 year old tires. NEVER have I had problems begore I asked them to use bead sealer and they claomed thete is no such thing. NOT True! I used it when I was in school for auto mechanics myself. Finally the last time they said they would re mount the tires n replace the valve stems but if the wheels still leaked, they would charge me to get them fixed. Needless to say. They still leak FROM THE WHEEL BEAD. Pathetic service. My only thought is they want to upsell me and get me to spend another $1000 on rims for my 20 year old $1500 valued truck . Im NEVER GOING BACK. (You can check for leaks in your tires with a spray bottle filled with soapy water) If there is a leak you will see alot of extra bubbles form. And this goes for anywhere on the tire. These guys! What can I say - I went in to have them patch a tire for me, as I was about to embark on a long expedition to Chicago. It was a slow leak, but knowing my luck, I'd get stranded in downtown Milwaukee in the middle of the night, where a questionable man named "Maurice" would come at me with the force of a Viking army and steal my cheddar goldfish. And my life. Not only did they patch my tire - when I went to pay them, the friendly service guy just smiled and said "No charge! We just ask that you keep us in mind when you need new tires." These guys were awesome. I walked in as they unlocked the door at 8am. Woke up with a flat that morning. Aaa put enough air in for me to get there. They took my car back immediately. About 20 minutes later, they came and said I had a piece of metal in the one tire. Another tire I wasn't aware of they said had a leak from a bad/rusty rim. They fixed both free. They are very helpful, today I went in and got new stems put on my tires I bought from them because I bought some cheap designed caps and they rusted on the old air stems, and I could not remove them, they did it at no charge because of the warranty on the tires and they are super cool guys, place was very busy, if you need tires or help like i did, can't think of a better place to Go! read more

They have always been professional and courteous and they really know their business. They don't sell you anything you don't need. i called because i ran over a curve. i wanted my tires balanced & rotated. the man said come on over. i ended up needing new tires. i was corned about getting the best ones & the man showed me the computer showed the michelin defender had the best rating. there was an online only coupon, but the worker applied it to my order. He gave me another 5% off for applying for the discount tire card which i'm going to pay right away. he offered me wipers only $12 each & i needed them today so that was good. i came in about 4:30 & he still got me done about 6 when they closed. i got the best tires & warranties so if i get a nail or anything. he also gave me advice about how often to rotate my tires & things. read more

Like others i would give this place no stars if i could. I have been to several different locations and its always the same. I will never go back. I went to the first just to buy 1 new tire because it had blown. I was going back for another 1 in a week so the 2 tires would be the same. They put it on and couldnt get my warning light off for my tire. They also broke my tire nuts off. I was going back in a week so brought some new ones then. I went to a different location for a second tire because it was a tire sold specifically to them so i had to, otherwise believe me i wouldn't have. At the second location i left my keys with the guy at the front desk and he said come back in an hour cuz they were busy. I went back an hour and a half later giving them more time. They greet me at the door and ask, where are your keys? Are you kidding me?! You had my number, i gave the keys to an employee and you didn't bother to call and ask me?! They come back 15 min later and ask where my key is for the nuts, which i show them its in the glovebox. I give them the new nuts i had bought and they come back and say they broke more of the old ones and some they cant get off cuz they dont have the tools for it. Why would you not? You're a tire shop. I say whatever i want to just leave. Ill go to a shop that can actually do a good job. I come to find now when im getting my tires rotated, and fixed because the 2nd tire couldn't hold air more than a few days, they can't get the old nut still on there, off because discount tire kept my nut key! The shop just had to try to break it off. I will NEVER go discount tires again! Worst service ever. read more

What I liked about this place was how fast they were able to get me in and replace my tires. After I arrived it took less than an hour.

We're new to the area, and I brought my wife's car in today to have one of her tires checked that has been losing pressure. They looked at it, fixed a small dent in the rim, put on a new valve stem -- and checked to make sure it was maintaining pressure ok. All of this for free, how many times can you say that? Very impressed with service, and both people I talked to in the store were very nice and knowledgeable. I found them by calling earlier in the day to get a quote for a new pair of tires for my car. They gave me the best quote for a good quality/high mileage tire... and I will absolutely be going back to them to get those replaced within the next few weeks. So based on my first experience with this shop, I would definitely recommend them to others. read more
