I have been following them on instagram for some time now and have been meaning to stop at one of their other locations for so long but have been too busy (also too lazy). Super glad this location opened up so close to my place! The entrance can be confusing depending on which way you're walking from but the main door for the public is on the right side of the cream brick building with the ramp. This space has really nice vibes and a good amount of seating with outlets near the window (behind the order counter/bar). They have baked goods and an experimental drink menu that features their super creative and beautiful drinks - think pretty cocktails but make it coffee/tea. The discourse team has found a home and an amazing one at that! The coffee experience here is unrivaled. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of great coffee in Milwaukee. But still nothing else like this. The seasonal menu is always inventive and unique. Even when you think you've had something like it, turns out nope, you haven't. Same goes for their standing menu of totally solid options. This location also has more food items on the menu and after trying the yuzu parfait and a couple of scones, I am excited to try more as soon as possible. A great addition to the downtown coffee scene! The space is really cool and gets the nice cozy warm vibes. Baristas are always so friendly and professional. The menu is diverse with different food, drink and pastry options and they keep adding seasonal drinks to it. It's a place that will definitely come to my mind if I want to find a place to relax, drink coffee, maybe get a small bite or hang out with a small group of friends. We've enjoyed the lattes, crafted drinks and house-made pastries and highly recommend getting those. The cold brew is not my preferred deeply sweet & strong type and tastes a bit herby. The chicken sandwich tastes a bit dry for the price of it. Discourse is a refreshing new addition to Milwaukee's coffee scene. I'll admit I'm a total coffee snob and as a result, go out of my way to support shops that make their own syrups and creations in-house. It's just the little things that really make you appreciate local businesses and their attention to quality and detail. I was very impressed with Discourse's delicious drinks. The traditional coffee drinks are all top notch and their unique and seasonal drinks are delicious as well. I ordered 'The Pumpkin Situation', their refreshing take on the pumpkin spice latte. Someone recommended Discourse after I mentioned I loved lattes with house made syrups, and I'm so thankful! Their drinks are SO good and you truly taste all of the notes that they advertise! The moonwater tasted so good and was so unique with honey, cinnamon, pepper, and salt! I also ended up getting a salted maple latte to go after I finished my work, and it tasted great, too! The baristas were super friendly and they crafted the drinks quickly! Really very good coffee. Tasted high quality and very nice presentation. Elegant hipsterish interior. The moon water was a touch too sweet, but it's not really easy to complain about that because everyone likes their coffee a bit different, the barista says they make it a bit sweeter because they include somewhat savory ingredients in their drinks which makes sense. Hidden gem was hard to unearth with Apple Maps. Housed in this beautiful university building, the coffee and the atmosphere were both outstanding! The barista took my order and had it out of the bar in no time flat, piping hot and in a HUGE mug. Yay, we finally made it to Discourse and it is all it promised to be. While we didn't try any of their signature concoctions, the caramel latte with oat milk was perfect and the hummus plate was fresh and satisfying. During my class break, I decided to check out Disclosure Coffee at the north Broadway location. I also, had no idea they had another location in the Milwaukee Art Museum! Seems fitting, as their coffee selections are as creative, artistic and out there as some of the art! The main menu consisted of the classic lattes, pour-over drink, hot chocolate, chai and teas. But the thing that caught my eye were the craft and experimental menu! The craft menu had seasonal drink choices such as the Channel Orange (pictured) which had a unique blend of oat, vanilla and orange! My tastebuds were confused at first, but wow! So sweet and comforting! Absolutely delicious. As for the location itself, it was pretty small inside. With only about 8 tables across the room, it could be a nice, quiet place to get some work done and get away from the hustle and bustle. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming. I will say, for a medium sized drink it was a little pricey, but with the uniqueness of the ingredients, it's to be expected. My previous review was kind of incomplete because I didn't eat or drink anything when I visited. On my second visit, I did not eat anything but I did have a large iced vanilla latte. It cost $8 and came in a 14 oz glass. It was a very good iced vanilla latte but for $8 I guess I expect a larger pour especially since the ice takes up so much real estate. The price range on a vanilla latte is $6 for a small, $7 for a medium, and $8 for the large. Service was also kind of slow. My friend's plain latte took 10 minutes to come out and my iced latte was probably another 4 after that. Still a great space and a nice option to Starbucks (who really need to put all their tables back in). Next time, I'll try some food. They had some interesting mushroom pate and hummus offerings. For sweets it was the chocolate chunk cookie (about the size of small salad plate), some macarons that were 4 inches thick, and the lemon dill scones. read more

I love that this place has opened. It is super cute inside and would be the perfect place to work from home. The coffee was delicious, but not too sweet (which is sometimes my qualm with lattes). I appreciate the unique flavors they have on the menu, and they do serve food - but the menu is small. Haven't tried the food but will have to next time. Great spot for coffee! I enjoyed visiting them when they were in Door County and was curious to see this location. Happy to say it was awesome! The vibes and decor were excellent and the staff were welcoming and friendly. My friend's cappuccino was expertly made and he enjoyed a croissant. My chai latte however was...let's just say I needed to get the pine-sol flavor off my taste buds after this. I appreciate unique and artfully crafted flavors and whatnot, but this has strayed so far away from actual chai spices that it's something completely different. Sell that drink as its own thing but don't call it chai! I quite enjoyed the salty chocolate chunk cookie though, very tasty! The only concerning thing with the case of pastries were there were so many little fruit flies buzzing around in there on the food. Yikes. Despite the couple of misses, it was an enjoyable visit. First experience at Discourse and I can tell why everyone loves it so much. The girls at the counter were in such good spirits and making jokes, you can't help but laugh. I got a cold brew which was good and a croissant was perfectly soft and flaky on the inside. Plenty of small tables with their own plugs, so it's a good spot to work. It does get pretty busy after about 8:45-9am though, which means it's noisy if that bothers you. But for the service and quality, 10/10 recommend! read more
