Wow!! It was super busy this morning (Good Friday). I got there around 9:30 and left at noon. I received a pedi and full set mani with Shellac. First, I was seated along the wall with the chairs. About 15 minutes later, a guy told me to sit at the table for my mani. About 10 minutes later, he told me to go sit for my pedi. Lol okay....once I'm seated for my pedi, he runs the water and didn't drop anything in it. So about 20 minutes, my feet are basically soaking in warm water. Finally, the tech came and did her thing. She was great. Idk her name but she was sweet. The lady who did my nails did them correctly. She did the shape that I asked for. However, I don't like the fact that my nails and toes don't match. I been coming here for a while now but ever since Covid started it's just been horrible. I tell them I want shellac on my nails and toes and they spend the next 10+ minutes trying to change my mind to do powder. Even after I told them I wanted shellac over 3 times. Last time I came they did the same thing and i finally gave in. My nail look horrible with powder so she has to paint then over with shellac. So at the end of the day I spend over 2 hours at the nail salon to pay over 100 for horrible work! read more

I've only been here twice. The first time I was very pleased. The second time I was charged twice for a refill and was told it would be refunded to my card. I waited the ten days they said it would take, no refund. I called and spoke to someone, sent sent proof that I was charged twice and everything. Still didn't get my refund. I use to love coming to this place. Great color selection no matter if you chose shellac, powder or dip. They would be fully staffed and ready to wait on customers. I guess that was the good ole days. Seems like they are starting to mix their polishes (what some nail places do to save money and stretch polish. I make an appointment every time I come and I make it at least a week in advance. The last three times I've come, they have NOT honored my appointment. I always ask for the same thing, to have my pedicure and nails done at the same time. Not only are they never on time for my appointment they never do the two services at the same time like I ask. I spend at least $85 every two weeks here but service is NOT good. They try to get every dime that walks in the door at the detriment to people already there with appointments. It would be better if they just didn't do appointments, then I would have no reason to get upset. Sad to say, I will not be back. I just left this place and I'm not too happy. I requested a colour change on my feet and a refill with gel. First of all, the lady helping me kept trying to push me into doing a pedicure. I had to tell her multiple times no. She wouldn't make my nails as short as I wanted them, no matter how many times I told her shorter please. She did a satisfactory job, kind of slow and not the best looking finish. The edges on the side of my nails and wobbly. Now I wouldn't care too much but I was charged $56, usually my total is around $40. I asked, why? The colour change on my toes was $8, the fill was $28, gel was $15 (usually $5-10 with the refill) and then she threw in an extra $5 charge for removing the previous colour from my nails!??? Excuse me? My friend with me actually had gel removed with acetone (mine were just filled) and she wasn't charged extra! So I'm really irritated and I will not be giving them my business again. read more

BEWARE! I went in to take off my nails and get a shellac manicure... The nails tech suggested that I keep my nails, do a refill, and do shellac on top... She assured me that it would look better. She got up about 10 or 15 times to check on other employees, and start on other customers. I was in there for an hour and a half when something like this should have only taken 30 or 40 minutes. Be careful on which shellac colors you choose! The one I chose did not match the one that I got. I also planned to get my toes done, but when I saw the job she did on my nails I was so turned off that I paid and left right away. I seem to come here when I don't feel like going to my absolute favorite place because of the drive. This is so far the best place in Pearland as far as cleanliness, friendliness, comfyness (ya I made up my own word), and they always do a good job no matter who works on me. Prices are average and if you mess something up, you just come back and they'll fix with no fuss. They have a nice set of shellac colors to choose from. The only reason I give them a 4 and not 5 is because they don't do the rockstar shellac coolness that my other place does. If they could do that and carry that, I would give them a 5! Came with a bridal party in preparations of a Wedding tomorrow. I usually always go to the SAME salon, with the SAME nail techs...and this place reminded me why. The employees rushed me and made me feel bad when asking them to correct their mistake. Color selection for powder/acrylic is terrible. All regular polishes were so obviously old. They would not accommodate me to have my mani/pedi done at the same time. Only refreshments served are water and wine. It took me TWO HOURS to get a simple refill on my nails and the most basic pedicure. My technician didn't even bother to clean up around my finger nails or underneath. My nails look so thick and uneven it's almost embarrassing. Will not be coming here ever again. read more

I wanted so badly to love this place. It's close by for me, they have a great selection of colors, and everyone was friendly. I was especially disappointed when the nail technician who did my pedicure did not paint close to my cuticles. I had to ask her to paint closer to the cuticle so that it did not look like my nails had already grown out. The lady who did my pedicure sliced two of my toes, causing them to bleed a fair amount. When I asked the lady doing my manicure to paint closer to my cuticles, she did. A third woman came over to actually paint my toe nails. Maybe four days after getting my nails done, I noticed that the polish on my nails had cracked already on the edges. Two weeks after getting my nails done, I went to my usual mani/pedi spot and the technician asked me if I had gotten my nails done at that spot. When I said no, she pointed out that the shellac polish that Discovery used had stained my fingernails. I did notice that. She said that the polish used must have been a cheaper polish. My polish cracking early on also supports that theory. Again, I really wanted to love this place, but I probably will not go back. read more

I was debating on whether or not to write this review but I will because I feel a little ripped off. Two weeks ago I got what was supposed to be a shellac refill by a guy at this salon. After getting the shellac done I noticed that something about my nails wasn't right. The nails were pretty but something was missing. Fast forward two weeks later I go to another nail salon and the techs are looking at my nails in disgust. They asked me who did my "shellac". They then tell me that it was not done appropriately since no powder was used. They said my nails were too thin! I don't think I'll go back to Discovery Nails since they cut corners on me and took my $30 plus tip! read more

I sat and debated as to whether I'd give 4 or 5 stars, but I can't think of even one reason to take a star away from them; they truly deserve all 5! I went in for the first time just wanting to give a new salon a try...I'm new to the area and have rode past other nail salons that just weren't pleasing to the eye. I'm GLAD I stopped! I received THE BEST pedicure and gel manicure that I can recall receiving in a while! I'm even very impressed with my eyebrow waxing! Definitely a relaxing environment, very clean...I love salons that cover the pedicure bowl in plastic! The two techs I had were very friendly and paid extreme attention to detail; Bell for my gel manicure and Sussan for my pedicure. They used to give you your own personal buffer/pumice stone set, but not anymore. Needless to say, prices are still the same. This last time I had to wait over 30 minutes with an appointment. Nina is the best nail technician! I only came to this nail salon twice and I returned since they I received good service and the place is clean. Well the second time I came I had Nina has my nail technician, and she is the best! She is very careful how she shapes the nails and she is super sweet! I walked in to get a gel manicure and pedicure with Kelly and Kim. Kelly (only does manis) wasn't available for my walk-in but someone called her and she arrived 30 minutes later. In the meantime, another woman proceeded to remove the gel from my nails. Kim (only does pedis) proceeded to start my pedi and offered water or wine. She kept pressuring me to buy more expensive services like a spa or gel pedicure. Kim did a really good job on my pedi but constantly trying to get me to purchase more services was a turnoff. Once Kelly arrived, she complained that their were too many coats on my nails. She suggested I do the powder dip manicure so my nails would last longer. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask about the difference in price which was $15 more! I walked in expecting to pay $60 for my mani/pedi and ended up paying $80! This powder dip better last a month for the amount of money I paid for it. Although they did a good job, I probably won't return due to the pressure tactics. read more

I scheduled an appointment for Saturday at 3:00 I wanted to treat myself with an mani and pedi. They started on time, did my nails first. They looked pretty good but the job felt rushed. Proceeded to the pedi, in which I enjoyed. Well on Sunday the polished peeled back off my thumb. Monday I called the shop and informed Kelly. I was happy she said no problem come back and I will fix it. Before the end of Tuesday the polish on the other thumb was coming off. That night after my shower, I was putting lotion on and realized the polish was missing on my index finger and peeled back on both thumbs. WTH I spent $100.00 for this service and it did not make a full day. What a waste!!!! read more
