It is my go-to whenever I feel like waking up my tastebuds and need something that will be healthy and filling. And the freekeh is so delicious - I never had it before going to Dish N Dash, and found out it is so much better for you than rice. You order at the counter and then pick up your food when it's ready. They've really expanded their seating over the years, but note you will be most likely sharing a table with others. The food feels fresh and well-prepared. The restaurant feels fairly clean overall as well. The food is delicious. I've enjoyed everything I've tried here. Absolutely love their chicken and rice plate and maybe when I'm wanting to be healthy, the bed of salad is a great substitute. And unlike most places, the salad is not boring! Such fresh quality food! Love the falafel plate or the falafel pita. Tabbouleh is so flavorful, but the regular salad has great flavor too. You must try the garlic dip too! They have so many other yummy sauces too, it's hard to choose. Service is quick and they know your frequent orders by your phone number. The patio is nice with lots of seating. He didn't eat the rice but did enjoy the fries. I had a glass of Cabernet that was a little pricey at $11. The wine was just okay but the food was delicious! My only complaint about my plate was the vegetables being tossed in some pesto sauce. To me, veggies are good all on their own with just a little olive oil but this particular sauce did not really help their flavor. First time here was with a meet up group, led by a lady named Anna. Took 14 minutes for our orders to arrive. Loved the Freekeh, which resembles a type of couscous more than rice. The vegetables went well with the chopped up chicken, although they were more of filler to make up for the average portion of chicken. The chicken had decent flavor but was still on the bland side, and the spicy sauces on the side were definitely overkill. Didn't care for the fried won ton type sides, as way too salty to eat. Turned out that Anna already had lentil soup waiting at home, so she gave two of them to wife and I. Absolutely loved the lentil soup, rich and creamy and not too salty, but still flavorful. We had 18 people sign up for the "Meet Up" dinner, but only half showed up. The second visit, I decided to do the garlic dip and falafel as my sides. The garlic dip was perfection! Not too strong, perfect consistency, went great with the fresh pita slices and the falafel. I even put some on my chicken shawarma pita. I'm slightly annoyed that it's taken me six months to finally try it, but I'll be making up for that post time each visit from here on out. Dish N Dish is a small restaurant off of Mathilda Avenue in Sunnyvale. There are some seats inside, but mostly outside in a covered patio with heat lamps. The service is always nice and friendly. You order with the cashier, and then when your order is up, they will call your receipt #. They cook up your order pretty fast, too. I've had the beef, lamb, chicken schwarmas in wraps, or salad forms. The hummus and falafel are delicious. Overall, the food is pretty good, nicely seasoned meats with fresh produce. Came to Dish n Dash finally after years of having it on my list. We got here at around 6pm on a Wednesday, and there was a short line of people waiting for their orders. It took around 10 minutes for our order to come out, and we sat on the benches in the covered outdoor seating area to eat. Theres a few stools at the windows inside where you order that you can sit at to eat as well, though there's not much space between those stools and the ordering area. -chicken shawarma wrap with babaghanouge and hummus ($17.05): this was honestly a lot of food; you get to choose 2 sides and perhaps I should've went with one dip and veggie/salad/falafel instead of two dips, but I love both hummus and babaghanouge. Only issue was it only comes with 2 triangles of pita bread, which defintely wasnt enough to serve as a vehicle for all the dip I got. The wrap itself was delicious, with the light slightly crispy toasted lavash perfectly wrapping in the generous amount of pickles and meat. The chicken wasn't super flavorful, but with the pickles and sauces that came along with it was a solid meal. Overall, Dish n Dash was a good meal, but nothing was especially amazing or memorable. Also the lentil soup was pretty good as a dip too so I recommend that. I didn't enjoy the dip as much as I thought so maybe go for fries instead. One thing as well is the food as a whole was pretty greasy or oily so you might have skin issues with this food. Service was fine they were quick. Chicken shawarma was not my favorite, found the flavor ok and a bit dry but I would try a different protein next time. Hummus was fantastic light and heavy at the same time in terms of texture. Lentil soup was also amazing and I would come back just for this. Very well flavored and had a smooth consistency.
