The manager gave me a cheesecake to go on the house because she felt bad for me lol. Y'all I'm tearing up just thinking about it. So insanely sweet. Whatever you're paying her... double it! We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner in its sun room with a neutral natural palette that I once indulged myself at the Rose Tavern in Canandaigua in Upstate New York. That nostalgic feeling of being in a beautiful tavern is pure delight. Absolutely beautiful restaurant, truly deserves limelight recognition in Germantown. Our darling Annalise server was extremely friendly. We loved the presentation of our dinner, but the octopus was a bit soft for our taste. I've had plenty of octopus in other cities and understand the dish is typically more expensive, but a small single mediocre tentacle is quite pricey for $28. I personally prefer a crispy and firmer chew for octopus. The scallops and shishito peppers were a delightful pairing. Valet parking shouldn't be forced upon the customer though? I felt bad that I don't carry cash to tip the valet, and valet is mandatory unless you want to park on the side streets and walk over. Do carry any cash! I wish that a portion of the parking lot was open for self parking though as those boys don't need to help out every guest who don't need valet and subjecting them to wait around for the boys to grab cars that we're perfectly capable of doing ourselves.

The crab claws were absolutely fire--perfectly seasoned, buttery, and cooked just right. Every bite was tender and packed with flavor, making them an unforgettable appetizer. The steak flatbread was equally delicious, layered with tender steak, fresh toppings, and perfectly melted cheese. The cocktails were expertly crafted and worth every sip. If you visit during Happy Hour (Monday-Friday, 3-6 p.m.), don't miss the discounted cocktails, featured wines, draft beers, and appetizer selections. It's one of the better happy hour values in the city. Char Restaurant +1 Then came dessert--the legendary Butter Pecan Cake. This dessert had to be created in heaven. Warm, buttery, rich with toasted pecans, and paired with creamy vanilla ice cream, every bite melted in your mouth. It's easily one of the best desserts in Memphis. Even better, this masterpiece is also served at CHAR's sister restaurant, Amerigo. From the exceptional food and handcrafted drinks to the polished service and elegant atmosphere, CHAR delivers a five-star dining experience from beginning to end. Highly recommended. Order the crab claws, enjoy Happy Hour, and whatever you do... don't leave without the Butter Pecan Cake.

The grits were hard, and the crabcake appetizer came out cold--though the sauce on top had great flavor. None of our food was served piping hot, which was disappointing. The crab claws were a highlight--buttery and well-seasoned. We did have to send our fries back for a fresh batch, and the shrimp and grits were just average. The best part of the meal was definitely dessert--the double brownie with pecan ice cream was delicious and saved the experience a bit. On a positive note, the service was good--Liz was great and very attentive--and the atmosphere of the restaurant is really nice. Overall: decent, but not a standout. 7/10

You get three salsas off the menu to try. We got the zucchini salsa, Caribbean mango salsa, and house tomato salsa. The price is really good for it too! We also loved the chips here! They were very fresh. The portions are large. ‍ This restaurant is pricey, but I feel like it is worth if for what you get. The environment is a lot of fun too. Our server was very kind and attentive to our needs. I would come back again!

My feet were sticking to the floor, the toilets were disgusting, there was dust so thick on the partitions it was as if they had never been wiped down. The whole place had a grimy feel/smell to me. The food? No. My hubs got cheese enchiladas, the server suggested he add protein ok-chicken-these had to be the worse enchiladas we have ever tasted. The chicken had a funny taste. I got the Fresco bowl I think its called, no protein. Bland, the little bit of guacamole they had ion there? No taste. The flight of salsa was so so. Hubs wanted to try a margarita. That was the best thing about the whole experience. $70 later for two people the only thing we have to show for it was my hubs waking up from sleep later on sick-three times. He ate nothing else after our lunch besides fruit so you do the math. So yes, our first time will be our last. My daughter has been here with friends and said the only thing she enjoyed was her drink so this may just be a good place for drinks.

Happy hour special is on the lounge side only: half off sides & $3 lamb chops (must order 4 or 6) NO DRINK SPECIALS. I really enjoyed the music being played on the lounge side, at a comfortable volume so you could still hold a conversation. Initially ordered the oxtail eggrolls & lobster Mac n cheese. Waitress came back and said the eggrolls were unavailable so i switched to the oysters. My friends enjoyed their wings and lamb chops. Oysters came out salty and burnt. I was able to send them back no issue. Lobster Mac n cheese was also a tad salty, but edible. Nice chunks of lobster throughout. The $20 Wokesha drink I had was okay. Overall, I'd probably come back for the vibes and to try other dishes.

I am definitely going back for more. The bed of beans and rice that it came with was just as filling and delicious. Now if you are a lover of R&B music, this is also the place for you. The noise level is pretty up there, but I love music so it didn't bother me one bit. They also have another side attached that has music, hookah, food, and vibes. We went over for a moment after we had dinner and enjoyed it. I think you have to order at the bar because no one ever came to take our order. Overall, I had a great time. The service was great, the music was good, and the food was even better! Love it and I will definitely be back for a drink and those oxtails! Yummy!
