Things didn't start out well. We arrived at 7:20 and were told they would not allow dine in. Seems a little early (maybe something to announce on Yelp or the website), since after we order, our food will be ready in 10 minutes. Sad for the waitress, as I don't tip on to go orders. She was very nice, but matter of fact, btw. Ordered spicy wontons, garlic chicken wings, salmon saltado with garlic noodles, and garlic noodles with filet mignon....order was ready as promised, 10 minutes....except for the wings...they were out. Spicy wontons were very bland and definitely not spicy, but came with a spicy sauce. Taste was just ok with the sauce. The Salmon part of the saltado was tender and moist, tasted good. Fries were tasty as well. The garlic noodles were a big hit on both dishes. Absolutely delicious! The filet was tough and chewy... not at all what I'm used to from that cut of meat. It was juicy, and otherwise tasted good. We will return here to try dine in. Only negative there is they only have seating for 24 total at 8 small tables. Our thought (and hope) is that the food will be much better without a 10 minute drive home. read more

Lake Forest is starting to have some great Asian food options! Fam's was fast, covid safe, and really delicious. We got the shrimp garlic noodles and lomo saltado with filet mignon. Both dishes were fantastic and well worth the price. They both came with a lot of protein; I was impressed! I didn't expect that many shrimp and filet. Super flavorful and the spicy sauce goes great with everything. I am happy to support this small business. read more

Was feeling like some noodles tonight and found Fam's Kitchen on Yelp. I love supporting new and small businesses and the pictures reminded me of Vox Kitchen. Looked promising! We ordered the food to go and was told it would take 30 minutes to be ready. I think because I arrived with my baby daughter strapped to me, they offered to take the food out to my car for me. Awesome service! The smell of the food was so hard to resist for the 10 mins drive back home. My daughter must have felt the same because she cried the entire way back home as if to say "moooommm when do we get to eat??" (She's almost 11 months and doesn't talk yet so I'm interpreting the best I can) I unpacked the food and my husband quickly came to the dining table at the smell of the food. We took our first bites and could already tell that we liked this place. We ordered an assortment of food: - Saltado Shaken Fries with Filet Mignon & Garlic Noodle: The steak was sooo tender. Not what I was used to for lomo saltado. at all. I stole a bite from my husband's plate and wanted more. Both the fries and the garlic noodles were really good as well! - Stone Bowl Soup with Bone-in Short Ribs: The broth is light but tasty. We gave some to our daughter and her eyes lit up and she asked for more! The short ribs fell off the bone...mmm! It also paired nicely with the glass noodles and mushrooms. Warm and soothing for a cold night but also feels healthy. - Fam's Salad: Wanted to make sure we had some greens, which we haven't been getting a lot of lately. The house dressing was so good and the dried cranberries were a nice touch. I love fruit in my salads for some reason. - Chicken Wings: Ordered it with the cajun seasoning and it was well fried and tasty - Spicy Shrimp & Pork Wonton: Didn't stick together like at some places I've had it at (yes!) and the spicy sauce that came with it was delicious. - Drinks: Lychee Sweet Tea & Thai Tea - Loved both! This restaurant is located next to Lake Forest Lanes and across the street from The Hat. Take out was a breeze and the food was delicious. A new spot in town and I will admit that I came by a bit late (6 pm on grand opening weekend) because they ran out of a lot of things. We ordered their wings, spicy wontons, lomo saltado with garlic noodles (they ran out of rice), and garlic noodles with prawns (they ran out of salmon). They also ran out of the beef rib noodle soup. Brought this back to my house for the family to eat and everything was pretty good. Very similar to Vox Kitchen. Now I don't have to drive to Fountain Valley for my garlic noodle fix. I got the saltado shaken fries with filet mignon and it was absolutely incredible. the whole dish was so flavorful and the fries were some of the best i've ever had. I would've liked more tomatoes, but that's just personal preference. I cant wait to order this again! read more

Absolutely no regrets after trying this place a few days ago. Everything we ordered was delicious (pretty sure we ordered almost everything on the menu), notably the salmon (which was a ridiculously large portion), the fillet mignon lomo saltado (which was super-tender and perfectly-cooked, and included garlic noodles gratis), and the cheese corn (so.much.cheese!). We were also given two free beverages and opted for a Vietnamese coffee and strawberry lemonade, both of which were refreshing, and the coffee was potent. The food is amazing, at first I thought the menu is limited and simple, but I then I realized that the dishes are tailored-made to individual taste according to how I order. I love the fusion of not just Asian but a bit of South American cuisines as well. The hostess could smile a bit more but she is polite enough, probably had a rough day. I enjoyed the simple environment and great tastes food. The cook or whoever created the dishes/menus deserved more than five stars. Placed a to go order over the phone. The lady who took our order was very friendly and patiently went into detail with me about my inquiries. We order the Lomo saltado with filet mignon and rice, garlic chicken wings and passion fruit drink. They were all cooked perfectly and were so good! I just wished there was more filet in my lomo saltado. But quality over quantity always. Definitely going back to order the spicy wontons, garlic noodles and strawberry lemonade next time. I was excited to try a new place that has lomo saltado, but unfortunately, my expectations were dashed. The sauce on the dish just wasn't seasoned to my taste. Even though there were quite a few shrimp, there were hardly any tomatoes or onions in the mix. Just mainly a plateful of fries with shrimp and that sticky sauce I didn't like. I was glad I opted to get it with the rice instead of the garlic noodles. The rice was my only reprieve from the sauce. Ok wife wanted to try some Asian fusion. She noticed that menu is similar to Voxx Kitchen. OMG The food here is fire!! That means really good..lol. Garlic noodles is my favorite. Sooo good and tasty. Perfectly cooked. I also loved the Saltado fries. Its sautéed really well with onions and tomatoes and has a balance of sweet and salty. Delicious. The popcorn chicken and that sauce! Wow! I can eat that with anything. For the owner, the mushrooms lacked fkavor. Maybe ry and sautee it with the garlic noodles. All in all the food is really good. We used to love this restaurant until today during our wedding anniversary.. we were in the middle of our dinner and theres a huge group that came. Mind you it was only us eating in the place, then the server asked us to move. Were willing to move to the next table but no, he asked us to move towards the other side of the resto. Like why can they sit over there? Why do we have to move in the middle of our dinner? It ruined our night. My husband was really upset, he just wanted to have a nice meal but it was ruined bec people does not haveany consideration of other people. As much as i love this mini resto im pretty sure my husband wont come back. And to make it worst my filet minon was bright red inside, its RAW. as soon as we come out i threw up. Its such a shame how 1 unfortunate situation ruined everything for us. OK...so my Mother in Law wanted Asian food and we wanted to try somewhere new....so lucky for us we stumbled on Fam's on the yelp app. We headed over and what a great experience. We shared the Crispy Fries....very tasty and big portion. My Wife an Mother in Law had the Garlic Noodles and Filet(amazing) I had the Spicy Noodles and Shrimp---So Good ---Not a "cheap place" but very good value for the Dollar- We will be back! read more

We have been this place twice and sorry to say that we won't come back again. Their food is good. We love their fries and beef rib soup. But their service is not as good as their food. The waitress was cold and hard to communicate with, which cause our orders got messed up. We felt not welcome there. And bc we are a group more than 6 , we have to paid a 20% service fee on top of the bill even the service is bad. read more
