We watched them tow 5 cars who were apparently guests at the bars next door, and then they towed our vehicle. While we were sitting inside eating. We caught them as they were hoisting it to the truck and they wouldn't let it down. We ran back inside to ask the cashier to tell them we were guests and she said she couldn't do anything and they towed our vehicle. Spent $250 + our bill for actually eating because they don't know who their guests are. Food is okay but overpriced. Place smells like sewage. This place is a little hidden gem! The food is great, and they have happy hour specials. Very friendly staff and excellent COVID protocols in place. We found this place on Yelp that was under renovation so we made a quick decision to stop by here out of extreme hunger, but was pleasantly surprised. My husband and I stopped by here Sunday 11/22/20 with our 9 year old grandson for lunch, around 1:30pm. Surprisingly it was not busy, you order at the counter then sit and they bring your food. We placed our orders, husband had an omelette, grandson got the big breakfast with pancakes, I ordered the breakfast salad. We ordered one coffee, first asking if they had any, and the server said it was no problem she would make a fresh pot and bring it to him. We also ordered two Topo Chicos and one Sprite. We sat for over 10 minutes with no drinks. A waiter stopped by and dropped off the pancake part of the big breakfast, no silverware, so we asked about it. Several minutes later, silverware arrives, no other part of the food order, and still no drinks. We asked about the drinks and the waiter looked really confused, and said ohhhhkay, I'll be back. She comes back with three empty to go cups, sits them on the table and says our drinks are self serve. Ok. My husband goes to get our drinks. He couldn't find the mineral water and had to ask if it was also self serve? The coffee too? No none of those are self serve. Several more minutes pass, the food arrives. Everything is cold, including the coffee. We hate to be complainers, but hot coffee is usually better when it's hot. He walked in and tells them the coffee is cold, and again is told they have to make a fresh pot. He said that's ok, never mind, as he still hadn't eaten his already cold food. The one thing that should have been cold was the salad. It was not. It also said it came with bacon but mine did not. One crumble of feta and possibly one strawberry sliced up. Below the greens was a spoonful of mini diced tomatoes. Our grandson said the pancakes were pretty good, but his bacon was fried hard and crispy. The potatoes were actually really good. My husband had lunch here a few days before with a colleague and said they had good service, no issues, and the food was good. We haven't seen our grandson in five months and just wanted to have a nice hassle free lunch with him. Waitstaff was friendly when you could get their attention. Maybe it was just an off day but I'm in no hurry to go back. read more

When I contacted Anna the restaurant manager she blame the delivery service DoorDash. She said they sell allot of wings I told her the wings were dry & over cooked. Went to this place on Wednesday evening at 730pm and the place was completely empty. My friend and I ordered 2 chicken tacos and a corn bowl with 2 cups of water. The young lady behind the counter was very friendly but the kitchen service was horribly slow. We waited about 20 minutes for a simple order in an empty house. So we went there for lunch today with a small group (4 of us) and ordered our food and sat down - smooth start. Then we waited for our food for over 45 minutes (and watched them deliver two plates to the table next to us that came in at least 20 minutes after us) before we had to tell them to just pack our food to-go because we had to get back to work. And let me clarify that we all ordered salads... nothing too complicated. After we let them know that we needed to leave, we still sat there for at least another 10 minutes with no food to-go. We finally had to walk up and tell them that we absolutely had to leave (we'd been there nearly an hour without eating) and to just forget about the food. They finally, threw together our salads and gave them to us as we were literally walking out the door. The salad was pretty good, but then again I was starving by the time I finally got to eat it (back at the office) so I'm pretty sure anything would have tasted good at that point. Wife and I had been wanting to drive up to EaDo for some time for brunch on the weekend. District 7 had a very interesting menu so we decided on it. Started with bloody Mary's and a dozen raw oysters (very reasonably priced), both were excellent and fresh. Should have stopped there. We ordered brunch--I had crab cake and two eggs plus country potatoes, wife had braised beef eggs Benedict and grits. Where to start...my eggs (Sunny side up) had yolks that were almost solid, first bite of crab cake and I'm spitting out shell, same with second. Every bite tasted like it had grit in it and there just wasn't any flavor at all. Potatoes were not diced but huge chunks with no sear crisp to them, just bland. So I'll try a bite of my wife's plate. Egg was hard, little to no sauce, and the beef, ugh. Stringy, roast beef-like texture, no flavor. But the grits, good grief, they were like a tasteless pablum mush, absolutely horrible. How do you screw up grits? When paying she asked how the food was, I told her we were disappointed, she did end up taking off the crab cake meal. Stick with a Bloody Mary and a dozen fresh oysters, skip everything else if our two meals are any indication of the food quality on the rest of the menu. This place is mediocre at best. Upon walking into the restaurant you're hit with an odor. I'm not sure what the smell was. It could've been an old building smell or broken pipes. It was a kind of sewage smell. The smell was heavy at the table we were sitting at and near the ordering counter. I was there to meet up with family and I was highly disappointed. The restaurant wasn't dirty but it wasn't completely clean either. The tables were sticky and it just looked unkept. The food was lackluster. We ordered a number of items which all were subpar. This is not a place I would ever return nor would I recommend it. The crawfish hush puppies were a complete mess. The bruschetta lacked flavor and the tomatoes tasted rotten. The pork shank was a joke. The fries with Parmesan cheese and truffle oil were bland and flavorless. These are definitely frozen fries. The snickerdoodle cookie was hard and flavorless. Save your money because this place is over priced and can't deliver on the food. I'm also curious why they charge a 20% gratuity fee for parties of six or more. You order your food and your drinks at the counter, they don't pre-bus your table or refill drinks. The only thing they do is bring your food to the table. Interesting concept. We had so many dishes on our table we had to move them to an empty table because no one came to get the plates. With all the restaurants in Houston they will have to do better. If someone goes to this restaurant it's a matter of convenience because of the location. SAVE YOUR MONEY! I'm not sure if anybody in the kitchen is qualified to cook. read more

This was a bit of a let down. Came here last night and the place was empty. There was only one other group there. Bad sign for 8pm on a Saturday night. We we're going to leave but the reviews were so good, we gave it a shot. We took table in the outside patio, which is a really nice setting and by 9:30pm we were the only people there. We ordered the hamburger with a side of sweet potato fries and a side of brussel sprouts. The fries were nice and crispy, but the burger was just ok and the Brussels were flavorless and undercooked. Overall just a very average meal. For dessert we had a huge slice of hummingbird cake, which was really moist and I'm a sucker for anything with cream cheese frosting. This place used to be great but today I had the worse experience. My daughter ordered a shrimp and pasta dish. It was disgusting. The sauce was some sort of tomato with a smoked flavor. I'm not sure but when we told the waiter she was disappointed with her meal he said okay, gave her a menu and said she could get something else. Well I surprised when, after she order a simple appetizer as a replacement - a much cheaper dish- he brought over a check. I inquired about this as I said most restaurants would not charge both for the meal that was not up to par with the customers expectations AND the replacement meal.
