Always busy which is a good thing! Blood Mary was my favorite! It had some delicious millionaire bacon in it. I tried their seasonal double crunch tacos. The best meal I have had there. Sad they changed out this special, recently went back they didn't have it. It should be permanent! Recommend to put your name on the waiting list prior to getting there. Also before ten o'clock on a Sunday.

Good food, friendly people, great service! The egg white omelette was great paired with fruit, whole-grain toast, and strawberry jam.

First watch is always great! They seem to have healthier options as well, which I did not go for lol . I got the biscuits and turkey sausage gravy . Came with potatoes. The potatoes were not totally soft I'd say.. probably could've used a couple more minutes to cook but that's ok. The rest of the dish was so delicious and I loved it. My husband always loves the juice here! The waiter was super friendly and nice too!!

million dollar bacon, eggs, toast, kale tonic

First watch is a greattt place for breakfast, brunch, or lunch! I always get a kale tonic when I eat here and it NEVER lets me down. It is the perfect mixture of cucumber, kale, and apple. SO refreshing! They have a great selection of other juices that I am looking forward to trying in the future. The food is also very tasty and always is cooked perfectly. The only thing that we did not love was the million dollar bacon. We just did not enjoy how sweet it was! The service was great, our server checked on us many times and made sure we had everything we needed. The food comes out in a timely manor. I highly recommend this place to people visiting or anyone looking for a cute brunch place!

    Overcooked Benedict :(

Came here on the tail-end of a bachelorette party and was excited to brunch! Beware that this spot is popular, so there is a bit of a wait for a table. I've been to the location in AZ so I knew to expect a large, fun menu and farmhouse ambiance. Unfortunately, I think the busy-ness really took a toll on our experience. Our waitress was wonderful, but things just kept going wrong. Multiple orders in our party were wrong and sent back - as a make-good we got some free muffins which we really appreciated. This definitely bumped up my experience. However, when I finally received my Benedict the eggs were completely hard and overcooked. After seeing all the other food debacles, I was in a rush to get out since we were about to do our long drive back home - so I didn't say anything. I know if I did, First Watch definitely would've made it right. Overall, I would just beware of the Sunday morning rush, since some of our order definitely got caught up in it.

Summer menu Tres leches French toast

First watch has been one of those hit or miss places for me mostly miss unfortunately. I keep trying them cus They have good ideas and inventive menu options, but more often than not they just are not executed well at all. For the premium prices I expect to be fairly wowed or at least happily satisfied. Each time it's just quality of the food and kind of a (I don't care attitude) I feel like by the kitchen. This chili chorizo was filled with waaaay too many onions not even kidding and probably not even a tablespoon of chorizo? The tres leches was kinda soggy and for the $$$ it really should come with eggs or a meat.

Met a friend here for brunch. It was pretty busy, but we were seated right away. The server was prompt and took our drink order, we only had water and then put in our food orders. The food took a little long but not extremely, and that's just fine because the food was fresh! I had the skillet hash, and everything was SOOO DELICIOUS! My over easy egg was perfect. This was seasoned just right, and the homemade jam was so yummy. My friend so food was really good as well. Our server was cordial, not overly friendly but much better than other places. I would recommend coming here, I think I like this location more than the liberty one. Liberty is more cramped

Surprisingly very tasty and freshly made food found in the downtown of Kansas City. Very friendly staff and even better food. Must visit for lunch, brunch or breakfast!

the food was really the only thing to brag about. the tacos were amazing good balance of flavors , french toast was super good with the mixed berry compote, biscuits and gravy was ok! service was not that great.

I forgot what everyone ordered!!! Sorry! But it was VERY delicious... we all made happy plates LOL! The flavor was amazing, the waitress was super nice & attentive & we had a pretty great table in the light... perfect for pictures!!! We enjoyed the entire visit. I have been to many First Watches, but this location deserved my review! 10/10.

I have been to First Watch twice recently and both times the servers were wearing masks and the customers are seated far apart with less tables.

Boy to I wish I hadn't waited so long to bring these amazing biscuits into my life! I can't say enough about how amazing they are on their own. I tried the Cure (Soft scrambled eggs + american cheese +beef bacon jam + caramelized onions) and the Wonder (Fried chicken filet + fried egg + american cheese +beef bacon). I must say that I didn't really care for the bacon and onion jam on the Cure, so I don't think I would get that again, but the biscuit was still wonderful. As for the Wonder, it was AMAZING and I absolutely will be getting that again! The staff was super friendly and talked me into trying a "Troost Juice", which is essentially a lemonade. I specifically chose the strawberry flavor and I loved it. Not too sweet like many lemonades and they even have the option for a Spiked Troost Juice to add a bit the juice that you must be 21+ to drink into your beverage. I'll have to try that next time. The service continues to be inconsistent at best--no patio service, long waits, and a general lack of attentiveness--but what's most frustrating is the latest beverage and menu decision. You can no longer order a single glass of wine. Instead, guests are now forced into purchasing a half bottle as the minimum entry point--starting around $25--for a very limited and underwhelming selection (Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc... and that's about it). No Pinot Grigio, no variety, no flexibility. Just a forced upsell on mediocre wine in a casual, outdoor setting. Let's be clear: You can order a single beer. You can order a single cocktail. But you cannot order a single glass of wine. In 2026, that's not just outdated--it's completely out of touch. This approach eliminates choice, discourages responsible and casual consumption, and frankly alienates a large portion of your customer base. What if someone wants just one glass? What if they want to try two different wines? That experience is gone. And the reasoning doesn't hold up. If this is about waste or throughput, there are countless modern solutions--by-the-glass preservation systems, or even high-quality boxed options like Black Box Wines that maintain freshness without forcing customers into higher spend. This feels less like a thoughtful strategy and more like a blunt, revenue-driven decision that ignores the guest experience entirely. So here's the question for leadership: Who is making these menu and beverage decisions--and how does this align with the kind of experience you claim to offer? Because from a guest perspective, this isn't hospitality. It's restriction. I'd genuinely like to hear a response from the team on this. Until then, this is a complete veto for me.

With Restaurant Week kicking off, my wife and I finally headed down to NKC to check out this longtime local favorite - a bar, bistro and sports memorabilia museum all rolled into one. When you walk in, prepare for sensory overload. The walls and ceilings are packed with hundreds of college and pro football helmets, banners and framed memorabilia. Heck, there's even a Babe Ruth autographed baseball. It's equal parts sports bar and museum. I honestly wished they had an app or QR codes you could scan to learn the backstory behind everything. It feels a little awkward wandering around staring at the walls while nursing a beer, but there's so much to take in. We made a reservation, but it quickly became clear one wasn't necessary that night. A few patrons were at the bar, and a handful of tables were occupied in the side dining room. The vibe was relaxed and unhurried - easy to settle in and enjoy the experience. The menu is broad and familiar, with just about any bar-food craving covered. Our server recommended the deep-fried portobello mushrooms and fried pickles. We were in an onion ring mood, so we went that route. They arrived hot and crispy - solid and satisfying, though not especially memorable. In hindsight, I wish I'd ordered the loaded potato skins, which are an all-time favorite of mine. For entrees, the burger and sandwich lineup is strong, and the prices are refreshingly reasonable. The London Broil and KC Strip both looked excellent and tempting enough to justify a return visit. I opted for something lighter and ordered the Super BLT, which turned out to be a standout. The thick-cut applewood-smoked bacon was the star - perfectly cooked and loaded with flavor. Kayla, our server, was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and made us feel right at home. Between the food, the memorabilia and the laid-back atmosphere, Chappell's feels like one of those places you wonder how you overlooked for so long - especially if you're a sports fan.

A friend of mine and I went for dinner on a busy Saturday night. The girl who seated us was wonderful and immediately bussed a table so we could sit right away. Our server was great too. She was very attentive, took our orders properly. That was all that went well. My dinner companion ordered chicken tenders with sweet potato fries and I ordered a 323 burger. Her order arrived with regular fries, no problem, the sweet potato fries were brought out promptly. The other issue was her tenders were overcooked. Our waitress brought her a slice of chocolate cake which she wasn't terribly fond of as she is a pastry chef. My burger didn't taste right and I was tired so I got mine to go. Upon arrival at home, I realized why it tasted funny. It had sloppy joe on it which was a completely different burger than what I had ordered. I did telephone to let them know this had happened and they were very nice about it, but I have to say that after this experience, I likely will not be back. I do not fully hold the servers responsible for the failings, but I do hold the line cooks and line prep responsible. They should have checked those orders before they went out to the table. I am actually terribly upset about this as I do love Chappell's (their cajun pasta is my go to), but getting the food wrong twice is a deal breaker for me.

I have been acquainted with Callsign brews for a while but had never stepped foot into the actual brewery space. Thanks to pub pass that all changes because nothing entices me more than a bogo beer! And to top it off Tuesdays happen to be $10 beer flights so it was a double win. As far as the food menu goes, it's nothing innovative just good bar food classics like sandwiches, burgers, wings, wraps, and appetizers. This time around we went with beer drinking staples- wings and loaded tots. The wing prices I thought were pretty fair ten bone in wings for $16 ($1.60 a wing isn't too bad nowadays). You also could split the ten count with two flavors which is what we did. The first flavor that caught my eye was Parmesan Truffle which I thought was a unique rift on the classic Parmesan Garlic, I was pleasantly surprised when these came out and were dry rub. I prefer a dry rubbed wing because first of all, I love salt and these tend to be definitely more on the salty seasoned side than saucy wings that can be syrupy sweet sometimes depending on the flavor. Secondly, with a flavor adjacent to Garlic Parmesan a wet wing can be very heavy and thus, have the tendency to get soggy. The only qualm I have with these wings is that the flavor didn't exactly live up to expectations, it had nice seasoning and the Parmesan flavor was detectable however, I never got any of that umami flavor of Truffle. They were extremely crispy though and I would order them again. Now onto the next flavor, I decided to order the other creative flavor on the menu (the other two were Hot and Mild) this was a hot honey bourbon glaze. Again, this flavor promised a punch of flavor and didn't fully deliver, I got the notes of the sweet bourbon glaze but none of the heat from the hot honey. The wings themselves weren't over-drenched in sauce so they did stay rather crispy but, it wasn't anything special. The last appetizer we ordered to munch on were the loaded tots which were pretty standard but, good drinking food. They were indeed loaded with lots of liquid cheese, crispy pieces of bacon and a healthy drizzle of ranch. Just so you know, these are listed as loaded fries on the menu but you can sub tots which I was grateful for since I think a tot stays more crispy than a traditional fry when toppings are piled on. Now onto the star of the show, the beers of course. We started with a flight to share so we could each choose a favorite brew to over a full pour of and utilize our Pub Pass. The smoothie sour was my favorite of the bunch which surprised me since I'm usually a hazy IPA girl. That was also a solid choice though and it's what my friend ordered as his full pour. The smoothie sour though was peach cobbler flavored and had the sweetness of ripe peaches, I instantly fell in love, it wasn't as sharp and sour and instead had a smooth finish. Some sours are tougher to drink but this went down easy. The other beer that stood out on our flight was the wine beer, almost akin to a cider but stronger in flavor with a base of Malbec (my favorite red wine). The color was vibrant and it had a rich flavor profile of grapes. Not sure I could have drank a full pour of it though if I'm being honest, it was a little too intense.
