This was my first time at the First Watch in North Kansas City! It was an exceptional experience as it always is with First Watch. One of my favorite brunch restaurants to visit! Our host was Erik and our waitress was Daruny! They were very kind and took great care of us. I recommend always using their get in line feature because it made the wait so much quicker. We were quoted to wait 25 minutes and then our table was ready in 5 minutes! I love how much space is in this first watch and they have a great space to wait outdoors not like the other locations where it gets crowded easily! Our food was delicious! My husband ordered from the seasonal menu and had the chimichurri and eggs hash, he definitely recommends! Always busy which is a good thing! Blood Mary was my favorite! It had some delicious millionaire bacon in it. I tried their seasonal double crunch tacos. The best meal I have had there. First watch is a greattt place for breakfast, brunch, or lunch! I always get a kale tonic when I eat here and it NEVER lets me down. It is the perfect mixture of cucumber, kale, and apple. SO refreshing! They have a great selection of other juices that I am looking forward to trying in the future. The food is also very tasty and always is cooked perfectly. The only thing that we did not love was the million dollar bacon. We just did not enjoy how sweet it was! Came here on the tail-end of a bachelorette party and was excited to brunch! Beware that this spot is popular, so there is a bit of a wait for a table. I've been to the location in AZ so I knew to expect a large, fun menu and farmhouse ambiance. Unfortunately, I think the busy-ness really took a toll on our experience. Our waitress was wonderful, but things just kept going wrong. Multiple orders in our party were wrong and sent back - as a make-good we got some free muffins which we really appreciated. This definitely bumped up my experience. However, when I finally received my Benedict the eggs were completely hard and overcooked. After seeing all the other food debacles, I was in a rush to get out since we were about to do our long drive back home - so I didn't say anything. Met a friend here for brunch. It was pretty busy, but we were seated right away. The server was prompt and took our drink order, we only had water and then put in our food orders. This restaurant does not provide the option of ordering breakfast potatoes without onions. Even if you are allergic to onions, you are out of luck here. We were very disappointed to learn this as it is our favorite part of a breakfast. It is sad and the only restaurant we have been to for breakfast anywhere in the country that does not provide this option. Onions can be mixed in later so all customers have the option of ordering their food fresh the way they like it. Evidently, they are premade here and not served fresh. read more

My friend and I met at First Watch in North Kansas City for brunch. I'd never been to this restaurant, and it was delightful! MANY kudos to Hannah, our server! Despite how busy it was (a late Saturday morning), she was friendly, efficient, and perpetually smiling. She took time to help us with questions about the menu, and guide us in our choices. She checked back frequently to ensure we were enjoying our meals, and made sure to leave a pot of coffee on the table for us. :-) We were pleasantly surprised by the speed of service, especially on a busy morning. My friend and I both ordered from the seasonal menus, and our choices were complete winners!! I had the Honey Bacon Brussels Hash, which was absolutely DELICOUS. The strong flavors of the Brussels sprouts and bacon were perfectly balanced by the potatoes and eggs, and the additional spices used were exquisite. I'd have asked for seconds if I had any more room! My friend had the Pumpkin Pancake Breakfast, which was equally yummy, and there were absolutely no leftovers. :-) The ambience of the restaurant is open and airy, with plenty of windows and high ceilings to let in the light. I do wish they would find a better recipe for the potatoes as they were only so-so and a bit bland. I prefer a bit of crunchiness on the outside with a hint of some favorable rub or spice. A Kansas City classic breakfast place that has all the brunch necessities on their menu. Every First Watch offers a wide variety of options, and when I'm craving the typical omelette or pancakes, this is the place I go. I also appreciate the constant attempts to improve and revamp with whatever the current food trend is like their addition of toasts to their menu. Many of the locations including this one have changed their appearance and now are adorned with cute benches and rustic appearance. On weekends, brunch times can be pretty busy. I tend to use Yelp to hold my spot and that works well to quickly receive a table. They also have free coffee while you wait which I can't complain about! My favorite item is the Frittata Rustica which has mushrooms and is served with sourdough bread. It also is accompanied with a side salad. All in all, the meal is filling and enjoyable. Many of the other options are delicious too, and I'd highly recommend this spot for their wide variety of options. read more

I am a huge fan of First Watch and this location was yet another good experience to help continue my love for this restaurant. I had the Power Wrap which was a perfect start to my morning and left me with plenty of energy to begin my day. It consisted of many fresh and healthy ingredients. My meal tasted good, however the wrap was a little plain but was easily spiced up with the Cholula that was on the table. The Power Wrap also came with a side of fresh fruit which tasted delicious and refreshing. This location was cute and kept very clean, which was well appreciated. Third strike, First Watch!!! My online order has been wrong the last three times! They forgot my fruit one time and my toast and flatware another (not a huge deal and I let it slide). Today, they forgot my toast and flatware, were 15 minutes past my scheduled pick up time, and the food was cold when I finally did get it. I told the "manager" about the previous two times when I was in there today...he was completely dismissive and apathetic. They have just lost a frequent and loyal customer!
