I took my granddaughter with me to get mani pedis. We were able to get in to get our nails done right away. That was great. Unfortunately, they did not understand what we were saying. I asked for them to leave my nail length to the tip of my fingertips. They got four out of 10 correct. That leaves six that were way shorter than I had requested. The second issue is, they didn't wait for my nails to dry, and so at least a couple of Nails were messed up. Not bad but enough to be able to tell. My Nails lasted for one day, the next day they were chipping away already. Of course, after spending almost $100 (just on my nails and feet) this was quite frustrating. Went in for a simple gel removal. The tech told me she would clean up my cuticles for free. I left with bloody cuticles.

Do not go here! I got the worst gel manicure and pedicure I've ever had. Gel was thick and ugly, started chipping within a few days. I went back to get it removed and my nails were so over drilled to take off the gel and I was left with painful, thin, red, ruined nails. I even had to pay another $15 to take off this mess for them to ruin my nails that will take months to heal . I will never have my nails done ever again after this experience. read more

This place is very dirty first of all. Next, the lady who did my nails didn't file very well because she kept filing into my skin rather than on the nail. Next, when she used the nails drill to thin down a couple thick nails, it was dirty with nail dust from previous clients/s. A lot of nail salons unfortunately are filthy and most of them don't speak English so they talk to each other in their language which is rude knowing that their clients don't understand, so who knows what they are saying. I do not recommend this place but do recommend that an inspector come on by and shut them down. Thank you for nothing good. read more

I do my own gel nails at home. I have natural, strong and fairly long nails that very rarely break. My index fingernail cracked close to my nail bed and I wanted it repaired with Acrylic. When asked what I wanted I said "one nail repair done with acrylic." I was seated at a table that clearly had someone's chopped off, dirty nails laying on the towel in front of me. I was asked two more times what I wanted, both times stating I wanted an acrylic overlay on my broken nail. The tech didn't even fold the towel over the gross nails, let alone get an actually clean towel. She prepped my nail and then started applying product to my broken nail. I assumed it was acrylic as that's what I asked for, but nope, it turns out it was pink gel. I was very disappointed and she simply said it matches my other nails better. No, now I have one fingernail with pink gel over it ( I could have put my own clear gel on at home.) that immediately broke again when I got home. I knew gel wasn't going to be strong enough which is why I asked for acrylic. I paid $5 plus tip for something I didn't want and it wasn't until I put my money on the table that she used her bare hands to pick up the previous patrons dirty nails clippings up and threw them directly onto the floor. I absolutely will not be back. read more

I made an appointment yesterday for a group of three to have pedicures and manicures together, my 5 year old daughter being one of them. We showed up 5 minutes before our appointment time. Right before we got there they sat a walk in party of 3. And then told us that they had no room and we would just have to come back another time. I told them that we made an appointment but they really didn't show any care for that and even remembered making the appointment with me. My daughter was really upset. I tried this place because it was close to an errand I needed to run, despite the negative reviews. Unfortunately, the negative reviews are warranted. In addition to the unfriendly service, which I can deal with most times, and the lack of quality nail polish, the tools were NOT clean and they don't care. The nail tech used a cuticle cutter that had not been cleaned since the last client. When I said, "Excuse me, before you use that me, i see someone else's cuticles on the tool." She shrugged, brought a different one from an open package and said "this one is fine." You can tell cleaning is not in their repertoire. Go anywhere else in Santa Cruz County. read more

Perfection! Tiffany always comes through with beautifully shaped nails. They always last me 3 weeks, the integrity of the nails lasts longer but the grow out becomes more visible. I will show her pictures of inspiration and she nails the design every time!!! I'm a happy customer of many years now. Have been in twice recently for a gel manicure and both times it turned out great! The gel lasted a long time and either didn't chip or barely did on a finger or two. I have even gotten compliments on my nails from customers at my work! They are always super friendly and welcoming whenever I come in. The first of the recent manicures I hadn't gotten my cuticles done in a very long time and it was definitely a lot of work, but the lady who did the manicure was very kind and patient throughout the whole thing. Both times they were gentle with the cuticles and I didn't feel any pain let alone get any kind of cuts. 10/10 recommend this place, their prices are very reasonable and the service is amazing! read more

I have been going here off/on since moving to the valley 4 years ago. I thought I found my place here! Nope! This review is for the OWNER or whoever sits at the first station!!!!! The owner who sits at the first station messed my nails up! It has been 3 weeks since my last fill and asked they be shortened a little. Normally they drill them down. Not today. She whipped out the nail clippers and chopped them off! I didn't realize how short they were until she cut them all down. I told her that she cut them short and told me we can soak them off (in acetone) and replace them. NO. WE WONT. As a licensed cosmo even I know better than to soak my fingers in straight acetone! There are healthier ways to do it!! On top of they were not even straight!!!! She knew I was pissed because after having me wash my nails she let someone else finish. This women actually straightened my nails out and I just had her throw a top coat on. I normally do a French but these babies are too short. 1 I'm not like what's the friken point in having nails if they're so short AND she charged me to have them cut down!!!!!!!! I never get changed unless I'm drastically changing the length myself! Ridiculous! I believe Jenny or Jacky has done my nails in the past and IF I come back she's who I'll see from now on. I have gotten my nails done (typically do a gel manicure) in and around the Santa Cruz area by multiple salons and I just so happened to be in the SV area this morning so I stopped in here. I will definitely spend the time driving to SV just to have my nails done here. I decided to try the dip powder for the first time and was so pleased with how much effort and time went into the process. The shape was perfect as well as the amount of tip that I wanted. They all were so friendly and engaging. The woman sitting next to me said she had been getting the powder done by the owner for several years and has always been happy. Highly recommend this very friendly and VERY affordable place. They should honestly raise their prices to account for the rising costs in product right now. read more

I have had positive experiences at Fancy Nails, but my last one was disappointing. I went in for a gel manicure and pedicure around noon on a Monday. The woman who did my pedicure was great. She took her time with the polish and I was really happy with her work. The woman who did my manicure, on the other hand, rushed and was kinda clumsy. She barely filed my nails and she left each nail in a different shape. Then, she had me balance the uv machine on top of a pillow on my lap (as I was on the pedi chair)...this was really uncomfortable and weird. My nails look so bad that I'm going to a different place to get them redone, it's embarrassing to say that I paid for this. The pictures speak for themselves. I've been to this nail salon twice. The first time, Jennifer did an amazing ombré dip manicure. It was gorgeous and she was great. I came back to get a gel French mani pedi. The lady who did my pedicure was wonderful and did a great job too. However, my experience with the person who did my gel manicure was a nightmare. She left dip polish on my nail and did a gel French over that-- turned out lumpy and really ugly. She also got some white polish past the quick and told me it was my nail when I commented on it. Then showed another coworker and laughed at me. She was really rough from the start, and when she had finished my nails the first time, not only did it look like something a 5 year old did, but there was dust all over me and cotton stuck all over my hands. I asked her to redo them. She was not happy about that. Continuing to be rough, she drilled my natural nails down so much that it was painful and now my nails are breaking and splitting a few days later. Prior to her, my nails have been super healthy and strong ( I'm pregnant and have been taking prenatal vitamins over a year). This lady had horrible energy and I wish I had asked her not to do my nails. One bad apple... I'll never go back to this place!! read more
