Love this place. Huge selection of colors, and they do a really great job! I asked for a design today and brought in a reference picture. Pink, who did my nails, is amazing and they came out easily as good as the reference pic. Probably not easy because nails are super short and there's not a lot of room for designs. Definitely going back!

This is the best nail salon in the county (and while I haven't tried them all, I will still make this claim). Leo & his team are super friendly, flexible, accommodating. They stay busy so call ahead! Staff was so friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed my pedicure, however she didn't really give a massage like other places usually do. My pedicure has lasted a week. The manicure peeled off later the same evening. I did get regular polish, however I was expecting it to last longer than a day. I just don't like gel because my nails are getting so thin and it's hard to take off. But for that reason it felt like I just wasted money. I'm sure the gel lasts much longer if that's what youre wanting it's worth it. Other than that, the place is clean and welcoming! read more

Wow, the pedicure was minimal at best with no massage up the legs and poorly painted nails with polish on the cuticles. I even had to remind them to put on a top coat as the woman went to help someone else before she was done with me. For $35 it was a ridiculous price for a 15 minute effort. The massage chairs are nice and it's a clean salon, but there are so many better ones out there. read more

I have now been to Felton Nails twice for gel pedicures, and this will become my go to place. They take walk ins, but they do get pretty busy, so it's not a bad idea to call ahead and make an appointment. Parking is easy in the large Safeway parking lot. Massage chairs are nice and comfy and they have so many polish colors to choose from. Everyone is very friendly. Leo did a wonderful job on my pedicure and the massage was so relaxing. Looking forward to coming back! read more

Highly recommend for gel nails! Leo and Ruby are incredible nail technicians! I'm impressed by Leo's even French manicures and Ruby's relaxing pedicures. The massage chairs are great, the gel polish lasts for weeks, and the salon is the most welcoming one I've been to, which is why I come back. read more

My first time, as I recently moved to this area. So convenient right near the Felton Safeway. This is a great nail salon! Very clean, the staff is collaborative and friendly. I had acrylic over my nails and they took it off without ruining my nails underneath. Pink did an amazing job. I highly recommend! read more

I LOVE FELTON NAILS. In all of adulthood, my main beauty-related luxury has been getting nails done, and I have been to a zillion nail salons over the last ~15 years, from south SJ to downtown LG to a few places in the San Lorenzo Valley, and Felton Nails is *it*, honey! I was devoted to LT Nails & Spa down the road for years when Tiffany owned it, and she did an incredible job and was very reasonably priced but often I'd be sitting and waiting around for my appt because she jammed clients and walk-ins like nobody's business. Then she sold the business during covid and I had two ridiculously bad experiences with the new owner, so I started looking elsewhere. Leo and Ivy, the owners of Felton Nails, are theeee best. Very friendly, and super organized with scheduling - I am very rarely waiting for my appt (first time it's been like this so consistently at any nail salon I've frequented!)... the dream. I go to Ivy specifically for my acrylic nails, and she does literally the best job of any nail tech I've ever gone to. She is a perfectionist but she's also quick, and my nails never chip or split and look great for weeks. I've had many gel pedicures here as well. Felton Nails is also very reasonably priced! And everything is clean, and it's a relaxing atmosphere. I seriously love this place. read more

I would just like to say the atmosphere in this place was amazing and clean. They followed covid 19 protocols... I felt super relaxed while I was getting my manicure and pedicure done. My family will definitely be coming back here as many more times I get my nails done. I will definitely be recommending people to Ivy as well for any designs. This was my first time going to Felton nails and my experience was amazing. Leo was very patient and was very receptive to feedback while he was doing my nails. It is rare to find a salon where the staff are open to feedback and welcoming. Everyone was very kind, it felt like a locals place where folks came to just chat and they treated everyone with tremendous respect. I love getting my nails done at Felton Nails! They provide great services and prices. They're super friendly and welcoming. I get acrylics and they always come out so perfect! They always make sure everything is to my liking. They have lots of colors to choose from and I receive many compliments from friends and strangers. This is the place to go to!!! The nail technicians know what they're doing and they're great at their job. If you're looking for a place to get your nails done then you found it. I got Acrylic nails with flowers. I love the shape and colors.All their services are so affordable and well done. They were very careful and delicate when working on my toes. She took her time and they turned out so cute! I've been going to Felton nails since I was 12 years old (I'm 20 now) and I've never had a bad experience. Leo and ivy are the absolute sweetest people and always do amazing work. I don't even live in Santa Cruz, I live in Humboldt for the past 2 years and I just wait until I'm back in town to get my nails done. If you want gel nails that last over a MONTH! Can someone PLEASE PLEASE recommend a nail salon that is PROFESSIONAL and doesn't rush you through a pedicure ? ? Trying to be nice with 3 stars.. This place is somewhat friendly, although when you get a pedicure it is rushed just like the salon around the corner next to Wild Roots on HWY 9. After the pedicure I wore flip flops for 4 hours before putting on shoes, after 1 hour of wearing shoes I noticed the nail polish on my toes were smudged in a way that was rippled. I think the nail technician put too many layers of polish and clear coat, also the nail polish wasn't covering the whole toe nail.. SERIOUSLY NEED RECOMMENDATIONS for a EXCEPTIONAL NAIL SALON . This place is great! I had only days until my wedding of June 27th and they fit me right in! What a terrific job Ruby did on my pedicure and manicure! All the staff are professional and friendly. Thanks again Ruby and now I need to wait until the covid-19 levels up again, to go in because I believe they had to close shop again for the time being. I moved to Felton from the west side of Santa Cruz and tried some spots up in Scotts valley and then tried Felton nails a couple weeks ago. WOW!! WOW!! WOW!! After 2 weeks of working (im a zookeeper) not a chip, not a crack... NOTHING! This will be my forever spot and the girls are so incredibly nice! read more

I only give 2 stars because they are very friendly people. However, I've been going to this salon for years, back when Lee and Nancy were there... unfortunately it has gone down hill. The pedicures are rushed and unfinished, with sloppy polish jobs. The acrylic set I got was poorly done. Uneven nails, all filed at a slant and the paint job was again, poor. I used to think this place was the best in town. I will be going elsewhere from now on. It's a shame, because like I said, they are all very friendly and nice... but I don't want to be paying $65 for a job I could have done better at home. read more

I go twice a month and every time we walk in, we are greeted by our names, and Eva and her husband always have smiles on their faces. Eva does amazing nails and her husband does a great job with pedicures!! The have always used sterile instruments and I've personally watched them clean their pedicure bowls after each client. So stating any different is just childish.Their prices are EXTREMELY reasonable and if anyone has ever asked for a full set with design, you know you're looking at $80 to $100 dollars, especially when it's done well. The comments below truly disgust me. Never would Eva or her husband hold someone "hostage" or "kidnap" them due to non-payment. That is an insane comment. Also the horrible comment about not speaking English is wildly ignorant and stating that Eva's husband eyes have no soul, is disgusting. I have personally reported those comments and I'd appreciate others who have been to Kathy's to do the same. I have nothing but appreciation for them and the art they create. They are WONDERFUL people and it makes me sad to see people writing reviews with such hate. Next time (girl below) go somewhere else if the "vibe" was off from the beginning. Also, educate yourself more when you speak on behalf of people's language barriers and accusations that can actually in turn, get you into a lot of legal trouble.

The top coat ended up getting applied by the door of the shop and there was quite literally no wait time in between coats. This was 2 hours ago now, I had the ac in my car running on my feet the entire drive home and the polish is still gummy and wet because there was no time to dry between coats. What happened to the little fans to help dry coats faster? Or just allowing a little bit of time between coats as you're supposed to? I do respect these women as they pretty much all work 9-6 7 days a week. But I just can't justify the money spent here anymore when they're rushing your service to turn out as many people as possible and not taking pride in their work.

When I sat down, the person helping me convinced me that she could redo all of my toes so they would be the same color. Before agreeing, I specifically asked how long it would take because I explained that I had very limited time. I was told it would be very quick, so I agreed. Unfortunately, I ended up being there for about 50 minutes and left with nothing that I originally asked for. I came in with a French tip and was originally told that could be recreated. I was also told the acrylic/dip would match the color I already had. Instead, clear acrylic was applied and then painted over with pink polish. When I tried to explain that I felt the polish was being applied too thick, the response I received was, "I don't understand." At that point, I honestly became uncomfortable continuing to explain what I wanted. I could see that they have many loyal customers, and I did not want to come across as rude or be the person complaining, so I accepted the service, paid, and left. What is most disappointing is that I would have been completely fine if they had simply told me from the beginning that they could not recreate what I already had or that they did not have enough time. I would have thanked them and gone somewhere else. Instead, I agreed to additional services based on what I was told could be done, spent almost an hour there, and left with something completely different from what I asked for. I understand that not every salon or technician will be able to recreate another salon's work, and that is okay. I just wish there had been better communication and honesty about what could actually be done before I agreed to the service.

I absolutely love Felton Nails! Their prices are great, and the people are even better. Besides that, they are by far the cleanest shop in town. As a family-run business, they truly care about their clients and their reputation. Their new, expanded location is evidence that the business is well-run. I've been a customer for about 5 years, and plan to continue for many more - I've told Lee and Nancy that they're never allowed to retire, because I'll need them! I see two very similar poor reviews here (odd that they're both posted the same day from the same place), and feel the need to comment. I have *never* been told no by anyone in the shop, and have never heard them say no to anyone (except for some drop-ins that they honestly couldn't accommodate). I have also had them fix MY mistakes for free (not to mention their own), and have seen them do the same for several other clients. They are the very opposite of lazy...anyone who isn't doing nails is cleaning or restocking. I have to believe these other reviews are posted by the competition (sad). read more

This shop has changed owners and I am not sure that I will continue to frequent it. The last time I went, Leo did my manicure and a woman whom I did not recognize did my pedicure. Leo's manicure did last a long time but I wasn't happy with the shape of my nails so now I'm letting them grow. The woman who did my pedicure seemed unhappy to be there, period. A very disappointing policy of the new owners is that they will not accommodate requests for a specific technician. If I could offer a word of advice to the new owners, it would be that most patrons value a personal relationship with their nail technician and when they find one they like, want to be loyal and to have that loyalty not only appreciated, but reciprocated. read more

Nancy and Lee are the best! I've had acrylic nails for over 15 years now, so I know how it needs to be done. They keep a clean shop and are always nice. Don't get confused by another shop that is trying to open in their old location! They are not associated with Nancy and Lee. Nancy always does my fill, because I am picky and very particular about my shape. Really everyone there is nice. I have gone to many nail shops, all over the country and I know how nails should be done. I always call ahead for my appointment and I would suggest you do that too.... read more

I love this nail shop! I have been going to see Lee and Nancy since they opened. Its always clean, they are always friendly and reasonably priced. When i wore acrylics, I always had my nails done here even though I was living in L.A., every two weeks. Nancy did a terrific job and they always looked natural, not like cheap little shovels. My nails rarely broke. Pedi's here are the bomb! Great massage. I own a salon and do not do nails in my shop, but refer everyone who stops in to Felton Nail. read more

I have never had such a consistent great result from any other salon. I don't know what they do but nail polish or gel lasts with no lifted edges or chipping. 2-3 weeks between polishes. Amazing people. read more

I have personally reported those comments and I'd appreciate others who have been to Kathy's to do the same. I have nothing but appreciation for them and the art they create. I had Acrylic nails for years that caused my nails to become so thin they were cracking open all the way down to my cuticles along with washboard ridges. I found Swans of Aptos & Kirk said he would like to help me; unfortunately we did not take before or after pictures. Within a few months while my nails grew out using Fiberglass wraps; I couldn't be happier. Kirk from Swans of Aptos is the only person in the area that does Fiberglass wraps; I call this my surfboard nails. No chipping, very little nail filing & covers 3/4 of the nail that leaves the cuticles & nail bed from being filed. I clean houses & have my hands in gloves for up to 8 hours with no problems with the moisture damaging my nails. I am so grateful for finding a nail salon that does not damage my nails over time. I have NO nail polish chips, lifted or cracked wraps, fungus under wraps, & I can go up to 3 weeks without maintenance. My nails are stronger & always look like I just had a manicure. I can't thank you enough Kirk & to the Owner, Kera, who gives the best pedicure with a leg massage EVER!!
