I had been coming to this nail salon for many years and lately they've been lacking on customer service. They told me it would be a 15 minute wait and it was technically an hour. when I told them I was about to leave all they said was your next and they still took another 15 minutes I wasn't 100% happy with my pedicure as the nail polish I wanted wasn't available so one nail is darker than the rest. The massage chairs are AMAZINGGG I got the deluxe pedicure I think it was $75 and got a regular French tip about $55. I don't do this stuff a lot so it was nice to feel girly for an hour. Went in to get my acrylic's taken off and she ripped off part of my nail. I've been to Tracy's before usually to get my acrylic's taken off. The first time I came in the wait was long but the guy was able to take off my nails with ease. However that wasn't the case for my second and last visit. I came in and was told to sit until someone was assigned to me, even though I called earlier to book an appointment. Once the lady got to me everything went down from there. She started using another clean acrylic tip to take off my nails. As she was taking them off I started feeling burning and pain and said "ouchh" to which she said "shhhhh." I don't know what kind of establishment tells its customers to endure pain. When I looked down I saw that she had ripped off apart of my thumb nail in half and it was bleeding. She continued to say sorry but her actions and her shushing me was enough for me to not want to come back here. read more

Very disappointed with "Deluxe" pedicure! No foot massage at all, only received quick rubbing up and down my calves. Smudged polish around edges of nails, very rushed, a lot of pressure to give a tip. My feet are easy to work on-no old polish to remove, very few calluses, etc. I've been going to Tracy's for years, but that was definitely my last visit. Had a gift certificate and came to get a pedicure. I think I chose the second level deluxe. It was Saturday, had called around 3 and made an appointment at 5pm. If you really know, you know it's always the best to call ahead anywhere!). They got me in right away @ the time of my appt, and it was busy! But not chaotic with how much staff they had working. The pedicure was about an hour!! I was so grateful. My technician knew what she was doing. A little rough on the exfoliating scrub and the massage at first but nothing a little communication can't fix! Never be afraid to speak up. I got regular polish, sparkly blue. It's been 2 weeks, I went swimming same night I got it! and still looks great. Will definitely be back with my daughter to see how it goes with her. read more

I love Tracy's! They are always so busy but they always get you in so quick! I've never had to wait for longer than 5min. And for how busy they get, they never rush through the service you're getting and they really take their time! This is my go to pedi spot! I've had so many employees do my toes and each one were always so good and so nice! I know some places seem sus and know they are probably talking about you, but I never get that vibe from Tracy's! I have gone to Tracy's regularly for many years, at least once every 5 weeks for the past few years. While originally the best place in Santa Cruz for nails, they have significantly & unfortunately gone downhill in terms of quality & service, with some workers being quite rude. It is a hit or miss at this point, with some of the workers being extremely rude when trying to express what you want, or making mistakes (such as uneven nail lengths, or not even being able to provide the requested service). Sometimes my nails look great, other times they look very bad. The quality of workers is very inconsistent. When attempting to voice the issue to be fixed, with several different workers on different occasions, the workers' attitudes have been rude and sometimes combative. Very poor service. Service can also often be very slow. There have been times that the quality of the work is good, but it has become increasingly poor over the years, with several recent visits being quite unpleasant. I really wouldnt recommend the business to anyone at this point, but there are times the service is ok, & that's why I give it 3 stars & return on occasion. read more

I went to Tracy's today for a gel manicure and pedicure... Sue did my pedicure and she did an expert job... Very careful with my feet and ingrown toenails were challenging, but she handled up no sweat...Kayla did the manicure. She paid special attention to how I needed them trimmed so they will not crack... I appreciate this. I almost never get anyone to listen to me at a nail salon... You guys did a great job you were so professional and polite and let me choose what I wanted to do. I will definitely come back because of your great service. read more

Regrettably, the service has been consistently disappointing, beginning with the nail therapists, who often appear unfriendly and unhappy. They seem to become agitated when requests are made. The front desk staff is also unfriendly. I strongly believe that customer service is essential, and I prefer not to be exposed to negative energy while having my nails done. This business is oversaturated, and in Santa Cruz, options are limited. They charge a high price for their nail services, which are not of the best quality. Furthermore, they charge a 3% fee for credit card or cash payments. I feel sorry for most of the workers, as they are constantly exposed to strong chemicals without proper protection, such as masks. Hopefully, some improvements will be made. I do not intend to return. read more

Business stopped taking Venmo as payment about a month ago , there are no signs stating that posted and they are charging the customer a 3% charge to use credit or debit card! Today I went to get acrylics for my college graduation and she hurt me on multiple occasions with her filling drill and even after I told her, she would acknowledge that it hurt and did it again and again. she even cut me while carving out the bottom of my nails. she twisted my knuckles so hard it hurt every time she wanted to move my finger and I even told her that she was being too rough and she continued anyways. when she put on the first coat I asked if it would get darker after the second, and she got mad and took off my nail polish and told me to go back and pick a color I actually want. during the process I had blue nail polish smeared across my hand and fingers. tried to put glitter on me without asking even though it was not in the reference. tried to put a random color on one of my fingers without asking. she didn't let me wash my hands after she filed, and she never put cuticle oil on me. my hands were so dry after. I had glitter on the side of my hand after leaving and hardened glue on my finger. I am a regular customer and have loved my nails in the past. I always end up getting nail art or some charms and it has never been a problem before. she is someone I have never gotten before and I was so rushed out I didn't get her name. my friend got a more complicated nail design than me at the same time with another nail tech and she said it was a wonderful experience with Mai. whoever did my nails should be ashamed because I have never had worse nail service than that. read more

So I've been looking for a new nail place since moving in from LA. I decided to do a last minute walk in appointment for manicure and pedicure. It was busy when I arrived, but they still squeezed me in where they could. I did get passed from tech to tech unfortunately, but I completely understood since they all had previous appointments. I also had damage done to my nail bed from the last salon I went to, so I thought my nails would be harder to work with. But the techs here were so nice! The first tech I had was extremely cautious and gentle without even needing to point out my nail beds, and brought back the shape of my nails with hard gel perfectly!!! That was HUGE for me. The other techs also recommend a perfect color match for my reference photo and did a wonderful job replicating it. I wish I remembered everyone's name. My services took a few hours due to the busy schedule and differentiating staff, but they all apologized for the switch ups and were extremely kind throughout my whole experience. I expected a larger total at the end but I think they adjusted my pricing as an additional apology and I was pleasantly surprised/appreciative. Honestly I wish I tipped more. It was an overall positive experience and I would love to cycle through some of their techs to see who's the right match for me. Definitely will be coming back again! read more

So thin they are constantly splitting and breaking and are very painful. We also had a few pedicures here and I would not recommend. The quality of the manicure is usually pretty solid - but the price reflects that so it's not a cheap place. Kind of hit and miss depending who you get though too. However they are sllloowwww as molasses sometimes. Today it took THREE AND A HALF HOURS for a mani/pedi for one person. We are leaving for a trip and came here to get ready for it real quick and somehow it took an entire afternoon when we had 100 other things to do. They also forgot about her for about 30-40 mins while her tech disappeared - we think to have lunch. Sure wish we could have eaten since it was such a long session but nope. Never offered water. Never offered a snack. Never offered a bathroom break. Just 3.5 hours straight with 3 diff people. None of whom spoke very good English. Which is usually whatever - we don't care. But when it's that long, it was just awkward silence and not very relaxing. Then they tried to blame us! Saying we should have told them we need a two hour slot for nails themselves - or i dunno maybe you could ASK THE CUSTOMER when they make the reservation??? So we've been here a bunch of times and made a res - but still felt like a random yahoo walk-in who was a bother for daring to have things we needed done at the place that does those things. What a bad experience. The first lady started my pedicure and barely pushed back and trimmed my cuticles. Then another lady took over and butchered my pedicure with a painful massage and smeared up polish. The manicure was worse! If you're into pain, ask for Cindy. She'll make your cuticles sting when she pours acetone directly onto your nails. Then she'll make your face cringy with a painful massage.
