I went here thinking I could get a relaxing Pedi/Mani also it was close to my hotel; I decided to only get a mani without any gel/polish due to a few things: -weak massage -lack of cleaning -lack of scrub -reviews of poor polish appliance My chair was so close to the next person beside me, both side, that when I was bringing my arm rest, it hit the next person's. My nails look great, my first time with acrylics and they did awesome. They aren't nail artists so nothing complicated but they did good for the design I showed. However, my artist cut me with the tools multiple times and left me with my fingers bleeding as I left. They were bleeding halfway into the set until I left and have hurt ever since and still bleed on occasion. I payed 75 dollars + tip for cut cuticles and also a slightly sloppy job. I got a french manicure here and it was gorgeous. i've gotten my nails done many times and this was by far the best shape nails i've ever had. i know a lot of nail artists struggling with perfecting and getting the shape down, but my nails were so beautifully shaped and painted. it wasn't overly expensive at all either and all the staff were very nice and attentive. lots of colors to choose from and a very clean place. this place deserves more hype! read more

Overall, I had a great experience with a pedi. The salon was able to get me in with no appointment on a Friday, which was great as I was visiting from out of town. The technician was attentive and thorough and I felt she provided quality service. I noticed there were no hot stones although it was included on the menu. Also, I asked for a trim on nails and cuticle but no polish/no full manicure and I was still charged for a manicure. It was the most basic charge but still, I felt $20 was a bit much for what I asked for and I was paying for the most thorough pedicure on the menu as well. I have been pretty consistently coming to nail club for a few months now! In my opinion it's one of the better nail salons located in Santa Cruz. The staff is very friendly, the tools are always clean & there is a large polish, gel & even dip powder collection to choose from. The shop isn't the most luxurious but there are massage chairs for pedicures. There is a wide range of services & add ons for pedicures like: exfoliation, hot stones, etc. They use disposable plastic linings for sanitary purposes and everyone works very efficiently. Very solid pedicures! I always call ahead because there can be a wave of people sometimes. This is overall a very solid nail salon and I definitely recommend for a Santa Cruz n! This women came in so fast with a wax stick, a wax stick that melt wax and is used on everyone's face. It can't be cleaned. It's not safe at all, she did my eye brows so fast as soon as she was done with the wax I had to look at them. I told her to stop and not to pluck anymore, she didn't even clean my face after. I told her I hated them. She asked me about 10 times if I need anything else done. I would never come back here. After she messed up my face, she did my toes. Came in here for two reasons: friend recommendation and proximity to our house. I typically go to Capitola for our manicures. The reviews weren't stellar, but it was close and our nails (mine and my daughter's) were in need of help! Was greeted immediately, both got sat immediately (we had no appointments, just walked in), and both girls that helped us were not only sweet - they were professional! All COVID protocol was in place, sterlized tools, plexiglass shields, etc. But both girls were very careful, making sure to catch every last detail, smoothing out bubbles in the polish, making all nails the same shape and length. It was $30/each for gel manicures and was worth every penny! We'll definitely be back! read more

I just went out for a mani/pedi for the first time since COVID. It was so nice and normal! The ladies at Nail Club do a fantastic job too! Then some woman came in without a mask and sat down and refused to put one on. She handed out some exemption card for her perfectly healthy looking self in defiance of keeping us all safe who were also in the mail salon. It ruined my entire experience and I was just anxious to leave as soon as she sat down with no mask indoors. One employee seemed to take her weird "exemption card" to call and check it out, but then when the employee handed it back, the woman just looked smug and gave no further explanation to any of us. The woman had a responsibility to protect her fellow patrons, if not physically than psychologically. I won't go to a business anymore that does not require masks no matter what. read more

This has been my go-to nail spot for the last few years, mostly out of convenience: it is close to my house and I've always been able to just walk in. There is one nail tech who really makes the effort to cut the extra nail that grows into the side of my toe, but aside from that, the nails and the experience have always only been just good enough. The last time I went--which will be my last--I came in to have them fix a mistake they made. I had chosen a color for my pedicure and had asked for my gel manicure to match. No problem they said. Unfortunately both couldn't be done at the same time so it took longer than I expected and I rushed out as soon as my manicure was done. Once out of the country and on vacation, I realized that they didn't match at all. Pretty horrible (first world problem). I explained the problem when I returned from vacation a week later and asked them to just take off the gel and put regular clear polish on my fingernails. I thought that was a fair request: I didn't ask for a refund nor for a new gel manicure to match. (My request was low in product and labor costs.) After taking off the gel (but apparently not smoothing out my nails so there are all sorts of bumps on them now) the nail tech tries to charge me. I point out again that it was their mistake and that I wasn't going to pay again for their mistake, which I had already tipped 20% on. She indicates that she won't put the clear polish on and I'm ready to leave. At this point, one of the several other nail techs who had previously come by to survey the situation (it had been recounted in a language I don't understand) said she'd put the clear polish on my nails. Once this was done, another nail tech approached me and told me that it was my fault for not checking their work before I left and said that this was the only time this would be allowed. Believe me I wish I had not trusted them and had checked before I left! I was surprised that they would not take any responsibility for their work and their mistake and annoyed that they would reprimand me and insinuate that I was scamming them, especially when my request was fair. (I've been a regular and this is the only time I have ever gone back to them for a correction!) Anyway, in summary: this place is usually good enough as long as there are no problems. read more

I have come here several times and I usually have a good experience, but this time was different. The technician seemed bothered by my being there. I think it might have been because I chose a simple mani/pedi and not the more expensive option. She gave me the most minimal service possible. Hardly any massaging and truly seemed that I was wasting her time. Then when I gave her a 15% tip (because she certainly did not earn a 20% tip) she seemed very irritated. You guys I literally can't make this stuff up!! I went to get a refill on Tuesday. I noticed when she was fixing them she wasn't filling in the corners of my nails. I let her know that if she doesn't fill them properly the nail would lift and fall off!! She said it's fine don't worry on top of that she made a few of my nails crooked. I pointed it out to her and she said it was already like that before again common sense is to "fix it" if it was already like that but of course it wasn't like that when I arrived. She was upset and "tried" to fix it, making it significantly shorter than the others. On Thursday 2 of my entire nails just popped off. I went back on Friday to tell them about my situation and to fix the poor quality of nails. Y'all!! The girl tried to glue back on the same nail that fell off.. hahah like I said I can't make this stuff up. Like I have nail glue at home and could have just "glued" the nail back on but of course I don't want to get fungus so I wanted it fixed properly. I told her she needed to but a new nail on and she was not happy. This story can continue but let's end it here.
