Millie's salon and work are both outstanding. After my nail tech of over ten years retired, I tried most of the salons in Scotts Valley. Millie's salon strikes me as the brightest, cleanest, and best organized. Millie does nails as well as waxing. I have had both manicures and pedicures by her. Millie has the gel polish and regular polish separated into two different areas and they are organized by color. She has a lot of options in both gel and regular polish and it was easy to find a shade I wanted. Millie gives you a laminated price list that describes the basic manicure or pedicure and the "extras" you can add. She also lists the different scents of lotions and scrubs, so you can choose what you want. At my most recent visit, I had the basic pedicure with an added scrub and added nail art. Millie does a beautiful job with skin care on the hands and feet and with the polish. After my most recent pedicure, the skin on my legs and feet looked and felt very smooth. The cuticles were cleaned up perfectly. The polish was mirror smooth. Millie will also do some nail art. I like polka dots and she is very artistic varying the size of the dots. This is Millie's salon. She works by herself. What other Yelpers have said is true--this isn't a salon where you can walk in for a quick mani/pedi. What I can say is that it is well worth it to call her and make an appointment for four or five weeks from now (which is probably when she next has availability). If she doesn't answer, leave a message; she will call you back! Then, make an appointment for your next visit before you leave that first appointment. If you can plan ahead for your nail care, Millie is absolutely worth it. There is plenty of parking in the lot where Millie's is located. She only takes cash or check. read more

Wonderful salon! It's very clean, quiet and relaxing. My first time here was a couple of weeks ago for a pedicure. I liked that the technicians pulled out a set of clean, sterlized tools for every client, and that the wash basins at the pedicure stations were disinfected at the end of each pedi, and the chair was wiped down as well. There is not a lot of chatter at this salon, and they don't have the tv blaring at you. If you want to have a conversation with the technicians, they will talk with you, but if you want to just relax and chill they respect that. My pedi lasted an hour and included a scrub and paraffin. I walked out feeling relaxed and extremely cute with my flawless toes! :-) I'll be back next weekend with a friend! read more

I can only write about trying to make an appointment or getting through on the phone. I left a message when trying to make an appointment and left a phone message and could make it in a month. I asked if she was taking new clients--she replied yes. On my appointment I had a difficult time finding it. Tried calling multiple times to find out how to get there--line busy. Finally I found it 15minutes later--the door is locked I knock and see someone inside continued knocking and the owner came to the door. I explained the situation she told me she had another client in 15 minutes and I should reschedule. Then she said I always call my clients the day before to remind them of their appointment--I said I never got a call and I checked my land line message center when I got home--no message. Milly's is remarkable. It's not just a nail spa, but a place for meditation. The calming, relaxed atmosphere wipes out any daily stress you may be feeling. Milly is a gem as is her staff. They speak in hushed tones so as not to disturb your psyche. If you want to be pampered for an hour having a a manicure or a little longer for a pedicure, this is the place to go. I saw the great reviews on yelp and decided to come here to treat myself on my vacation. I came in Monday noon and there were not many people so Millie was able to have me do my nails without booking an appointment. It seems like this place gets many clients though so book appointment if you don't want to risk a chance. The price is amazingly cheap and millie really takes care of her clients. The nails were well done and she asks several times how are the length of the nail and how's the result etc. The ladies are nice and gentle with my hands, also a free arm massage!!! The salon is super clean with classic music and they have a variety of colors to select from. They really take their time with their clients, I did not feel rushed at all even when there's more clients waiting for Millie. Amazing experience. :) read more

I. Love. Millies! I was there this morning & had a great experience. The shop is small and very clean. Soothing music plays softly while nature scenes play on the flat screen, and they have free wifi. The ladies who work there are really sweet, and you don't get the awkward feeling some other nail shops have where the workers speak in their first language the whole time & you feel like they're gossiping about the customers. The ladies focus on the work if you're not in a chatty mood. I enjoy interacting and getting to know people more, and they were very responsive to chatting after I initiated conversation. I had the lavender Mani & pedi, which costs a little more than the basic. It included sugar scrub, heal softening & a great massage. I didn't feel rushed or pressured to get a more expensive service. An hour & 1/2 later my nails looked great, I felt relaxed, and it was a pleasure to meet & talk with the ladies. Cost was $34 for everything. I recommend calling to make an appointment, even on a weekday morning, everyone was with a customer. I'll definitely return, and next time I think I'll bring my mom & auntie and treat them. Very nice, CLEAN, inexpensive place. More of a spa atmosphere than a nail shop. I was surprised. I didn't even know it was there, but when it came up on my yelp search I decided to check it out. Just opened 12/11, so it was very quiet on a Tues. morning. Millie did my shellac nails herself, she is very good! They try to use quality products, with the least amount of toxins and chemicals. Great massage at the end, with a nice, warmed, peppermint lotion. I will be returning! read more

I made an appointment at Millie's at the recommendation of my mother-in-law and I am so happy I did! The salon is clean and professional and the employees are all extremely talented and friendly. They have a great menu of nail services that are all so luxurious - and for incredibly reasonable prices. Normally I just get in and out of a nail salon and don't think of much of the experience other than being stoked I got the chance to take some time for myself. But after going to Millie's I felt so relaxed and pampered. It felt like a spa day in comparison to other nail salons. I also liked that they were playing relaxing mostly instrumental music and there was only one tv which was playing a soothing nature show without commercials or sound. I have been here twice so far and love it. You need to make an appointment if you want to get your nails done because they tend to book up fast and walkins arent as reliable then. I love the color selection that they have. So many choices with GOOD nail polish brands like OPI. The mani and pedi lasts a pretty long time for basic polish. Calm, clean and relaxing atmosphere. Millie's is my new go to for my nails need. Great prices too! Last time I think I paid $22 for a basic main and pedi. read more

I love coming here! The gals are so friendly and they don't push services on you or tell you that their credit card machine is not working, to try to get you to pay cash. They are simply gracious. VERY reasonably priced. There is always relaxing music, 2 fish tanks and a TV with something relaxing playing on it. Plus, massage chairs. :) I give 4 stars, rather than 5 b/c I feel they could do a bit better job with scrubbing the dead skin off of my feet and better massages. read more

Went to Millie's today with my daughter. We have finally found the best nail salon in SV and all of SC! This place is super clean, they really take their time, friendly, good job. I am so happy to find this place! I had shellac mani, xt treatment pedi and my daughter who is 10 got a mani pedi with flowers at a discounted rate. Total was $60. Can't beat it! Great nail salon! Millie is super sweet. She waxed and shaped my eyebrows. She took her time and made sure I was happy with her work. I had My for my nails, she was extremely precise and also checked to make sure the shape, cuticles and polish were to my liking. I dig that they really care about the quality of work they do. You search and search for a good priced, good valued, long, relaxing, and GOOD LOOKING pedi and mani place. And this is it. Millies is clean, professional, and has so many options for an affordable price. She offers spa pedicures that last around 45-1 hour for 15$-30$. The best ones are just 20$. And the greatest part is you have choices! She offers multiple pedicures at the same price so you can choose what sounds good to you. The differences are the scrubs and salts they use, paraffin, etc... They give great massages, clean and cut your nails, offer gel or french for just 5$ more, and it looks good! You also get to sit in a massage chair, which is an added plus and sometimes places dont have this. Same with the mani. Millie's girls usually do the cleaning, cutting and massage, and then millie paints the polish. I have never been disappointed. One time my girl forgot to give me a massage, and came back afterwards, let my nails dry, then gave me one anyways. The gel looks great, and is affordable too. One of the best thing about the job millie does is gel lasts like 2-3 weeks before you even notice that it wants to start coming off. You do need to book ahead of time. She allows walk ins, and day of calls, but she is usually really busy. TOTALLY RECOMMEND!!! read more

I was looking for a new nail place because the one I was going to wasn't painting my nails very well. I get gel polish and within a couple days I was chipping. I looked on Yelp to find a new place that wasn't too pricey but had great reviews. I decided to try Millie's on my way to my boyfriend's in San Jose. I walked in at about 12:30 in the afternoon on a Monday and there was only one woman painting a customer's nails. I was told to wait a few minutes before being told that no one had time to do my nails since I did not make an appointment. I double checked on Yelp to make sure that I didn't need an appointment before coming in, and Yelp said that it was not an 'appointment only' facility. I am giving two stars instead on one because the woman was nice about it when she told me, but I wasn't asked to come back later and I wasn't asked if I wanted to make an appointment. read more

This place is great and Millie is wonderful. This was my first time getting a gel manicure (although I get a lot of pedicures), and she did an amazing. The place is by far the cleanest I have ever been in. It seems like a very legitimate business, not a "chop shop". Also, it is very inexpensive! A gel manicure was only $20 and pedicure only $15! This is the best nail salon I've been to in Santa Cruz, hands down (pun intended). The place is spotless, and is very simply but nicely decorated. I walked in about 20 minutes before closing to see if they could squeeze me in for a manicure, and was pleasantly surprised that the technician didn't make me feel rushed in the least, even though I was the last customer there. She was very attentive and Millie herself also made sure I was happy with the service, and checked in with me several times throughout. The prices are great, and they use quality products. It's been 6 days now and my french manicure only has a few small knicks. Given that I've washed my share of dishes in those 6 days, I'm very impressed. read more

My pedicure was not good. I had to return to have the polish re-done after it just wiped off after 2 hours of drying! The young woman said it was my polish- no it wasn't. I bring my own from Butter London and it is great polish. The woman had sloppily cleaned my nails prior to polishing. Also, if you like massage with your pedicure, forget it. The attendant basically rubbed my legs with her rubber-gloved hands and called it a "massage". The pedicure was not cheap. It was a paraffin treatment- nice but the paraffin was hot enough to scald. Today, after the polish was applied properly, there was no trouble with the polish. Miracle. There are so many places to go in Scotts Valley. Try another place. read more

I'm not normally one to take the time to write reviews, but I have had such phenomenal experiences at Millie's and I feel like I need to spread the word about this amazing place! I've been to Millie's twice over the last month for gel manicures. The salon is clean (yes, CLEAN!) and quiet. It's not a pedicure mill - these women are artists who take their time and deliver an exceptional product. Both of my manicures have taken just over an hour and have included expert trimming and filing (no blood), massage with warm lotion, and 6 coats of gel polish. Millie's wonderful staff preps your nails and Millie spends about 20 minutes applying the gel. She is VERY meticulous and I have left with amazing nails both times. I highly recommend Millie's for your manicure and pedicure needs. You won't be disappointed! read more

AMAZING! The experience was so great, Millie cares about every detail, she is so sweet and goes above and beyond to make you feel relaxed. I had a nature pedicure which came with an orange scrub (smelled delicious) and a tropical oil massage among all the normal things that come with a pedicure and it was $20, well worth the price! I also had a manicure with gel nail polish for $19, and eye brow wax. The waxing was less painful than other places, maybe because she uses powder? The prices are great, the atmosphere is relaxing, and the attention to detail is wonderful. I drive 30 minutes just to go here! Love it! read more

WOW. Finally found a good place to get my mani-pedi on in Scotts Valley! The place was spotless. Even the polish bottles looked brand new. I really appreciated the quiet atmosphere. Other places I have been to have a blaring TV, and the staff chatters on in another language (which could be off-putting to some). Millies had nice calming music and the employees spoke english fluently, were very quiet and on-task. They took the time to slow down and make sure they put out quality work - they shaped my nails just how I asked, and there were no bubbles in the final polish. Its been two weeks, and my mani still looks brand-new. And the price! I had been paying up to $80 for a gel mani-pedi. Millies charged half that. They accept credit/debit cards. I would suggest making an appointment. They took me as a walk in, but watching after that, it appeared that most customers have an appointment, and they did turn away one would-be walk in customer because they were full. A week's worth of relaxation in a 90 min appointment. Seriously, I leave relaxed and rejuvenated every time- it's quiet, there are fish in tanks and on tv, low calming music, no-one talking loudly, and the gals are all super attentive and sweet...plus my nails always look lovely, and good prices on services. You do need an appointment, but they work with you- in fact I took my mom-n-law, and they spent a lot of time making her feel special- she told me on the way out " I never want to go anywhere else to get our nails done, ok Honey?". This is the best nail salon I have been to in years. I love this place. The atmosphere is serene and calm, and everything is exceptionally modern and clean.
