Ordered the country breakfast and the garden scrambler. The scramble was more like an omelette, but it was good either way. The real star of the show was the sweet potato biscuits. Served with butter and brown sugar. I would go back just for these biscuits. They were amazing. Soon as getting out of the Tampa airport we found this place. It was easy to get to and there was amble parking. We walked in and we're greeted right away. We waited a few minutes to get seated. Our waitress was friendly. We placed our orders and waited what felt an eternity! But when we got it finally it was so good!!! I love my hollandaise sauce really lemony so I had to ask for extra lemon but other than that everything was on point! I'm a beginner quilter so I absolutely loved seeing all the handmade quilts hanging on the walls! The ceramic chicken was lovely I wish I could get one. The day I came in I was playing musical chairs with the booth that was given to me. I had just ordered a fresh coffee and water. I had asked for a kids menu because I like to play games or color as I wait for my food to be made. I left to the bathroom and forgot to tell someone but i assumed my server would've noticed. When I come back, I stare at the couple sitting in my booth questioning myself (in my head) "Did they just take my seat"? Mind you this place was packed... the guy cleaning the table looked at me confused and then I looked at him and he immediately knew he messed up! Thankfully, there was a booth right behind them empty. Lots of apologies were said but still what if I didn't get a table?!? What then?! That was a problem for me. I usually dine solo. However, I did order the dixie's breakfast plate. gravy on the potatoes were good. Everyone says their gravy is the best but I've had better. The coffee was good, my whole plate was good. I left happy and full. The three stars that was given because of the fact I lost my table just by going to the bathroom. Other than that everything. was great. In Orlando for a business trip at Universal Studios, I wanted to see my parents in Belle Isle. Not a fan of most hotel breakfasts, so I Yelped nearby options. This gem of a restaurant came up. My folks have lived in Belle Isle since 1978, and I grew up there. HOW DID I NEVER ONCE STOP IN TO EAT AT THIS PLACE? I feel like my childhood was a lie. This was a spectacular breakfast. Service was perfect, vibe was awesome, every employee had a smile & seemed to truly enjoy helping guests. Food came out lightning-quick and was delicious. I'm so glad I finally stopped in. Great spot we were glad we visited, plenty of parking behind the diner (looked cramped in front on first pulling in), which was a relief. There was a huge crowd out front, but my wife was seated while I parked the car (awesome)- They was seating & moving the wait-list along nicely. Our Waitress was amazing, coffee never went on empty and she constantly checked on us. Our food arrived in a reasonable time based on how packed it (Sunday morning), the sweet potatoe biscuit was served hot & delicious. Both of our selections were spot-on for amount & flavor. Nothing better than a local diner! I got the dixie slam with pancakes, hash browns, sausage and scrambled eggs along with a regular hot coffee and it was all good! There's plenty of seating and we were able to get a booth which was nice. Our food came out very fast and our server was attentive. In the future it would be nice to see a regular iced coffee on the menu now that it's getting so hot out but that's just the coffee lover in me! read more

I would always wonder what the breakfast was like in this place because the parking lot stays full. Much to my surprise, it's so of the best breakfast i have had in the aera. When you step inside the cafe, it is decorated it that country dinner kind of feel with the american flag and quilts hanging on the wall at every table. The host and it seemed like every employee greeted us on our way to that table. Which gave that welcome in energy. I ordered a western omelet with grits and a side of bacon. My girlfriend ordered a breakfast combo, and it came with eggs , homefries, and pancakes. The omelet was great. The olny complaint i have is that the onions and peppers were chopped to finely. But it was delicious. I got to sample my girlfriend's pancakes.... let me be honest. i had to help her eat those things. The pancakes were huge. I dont think i could have eaten them by myself, lol. But any ways the food was really i would definitely like to eat here again. And just like clockwork, when we got up to leave, everyone told us goodbye and to have a good day. Well I've only been driving by this place for a short five years and always wondered. It's located in a strip shopping center on Orange Avenue. There is ample parking and outdoor area feels like it's part of the parking lot, but nevertheless, quaint. The inside is very much like grandma's house and that's what's so charming about this place, very homey and the breakfasts were large and tasty. Looking at the menu, we spotted sweet potato biscuits, which turned out to be our favorite, grilled on the flat top made them extra tasty. We ordered some to take home. Our meals were scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage and gravy, a breakfast burrito and sweet potato biscuits with eggs. Will be back for more biscuits. read more

Miss Cindy was our waiter and she was very helpful. The restaurant is very close to the mco airport and is a good place to go eat breakfast or lunch after a flight. We ordered the hash browns, bacon, and scrambled eggs and everything was delicious and freshly made and hot. Came back a year later, unfortunately our gal Victoria wasn't working today, however we had Trish who was nice, fast, and efficient. It wasn't crowded like last year, then again it wasn't Mother's Day either. It was nice seeing everyone's faces since they weren't wearing mask anymore. The food was amazing. We tried other items this time, and delish. My husbands egg bennies, with grits were yum! Can you tell I took a few bites..hehe. I had a basic meal. Two basted eggs, French toast, and bacon. Place was packed with nobody wearing masks. Took awhile to get menus and after ordering food took around 1hr~ to come out. Ordered eggs sunny side up and they ended up still clear raw. Way too much gravy and everything was really bland. The country fried steak was one of the worst I've ever had, so thin and the breading soggy. I was excited because the parking lot was full on a Tuesday morning at 9:00 am. The place has quite a large dining area. It was full of regulars enjoying their morning meal. It serves mimosas and Bloody Marys....a plus but I did not partake. Seat yourself environment, we chose a table for two. Plenty of four tops and a wall of booths comprised the dining room. Set up to expect a true home style meal from the homey quilt decor on the far wall, I picked eggs with a side of ham. It came with toast OR a quarter biscuit with sausage gravy. I picked the latter. My guest had a Western omelet. My eggs were clearly freshly cracked and scrambled. Tad dry and flat for my taste, nothing Tabasco can't help. Hash browns looked and tasted like they were prepped, cooked and holding since 6am.... relied on heavy heavy Tabasco here. Ham was delicious. The sausage gravy has potential if the flour is cooked out, today's batch needed more time on the stovetop. Biscuit was pretty good, flaky and not dense. My guest pointed out her green peppers were army green and mushy. The toast arrived well after the omelet. The server stopped by twice to apologize for the delay. read more

The service staff is very friendly. At first my wife was nervous about going into the establishment because one we are of the Chocolate community and we are not from the south.
