I will say this food falls in line with the rest of the food in terminal C (it's wayyyyy better than anything in terminal A and B but it's still overpriced airport food). I was looking for something healthy so I grabbed a salad with some coconut shrimp. For a $7 up-charge, I was hoping it would come with more than 4 shrimp. The shrimp were delicious though! The salad was a standard salad. The bartender was great :) he had such a fun personality. I didn't catch his name though. I also love that the bar area had a lot of little toys as decor. Sunshine Diner is located in Terminal C of MCO. A plus is that this place opens early. We were hear for a 7:30am flight and were in this restaurant around 6am. The staff is very friendly and we received some great service. They pointed us in the direction of some of the breakfast specials they have had and we ordered the sandwich and the buttermilk pancakes. The portions are decent if you're not too hungry and want to share. The food was good and came in a timely manner...something much appreciated when you're in an airport and trying to eat before catching a flight. The ambiance was "airport" LOL meaning it was fine and the vibes were good. Like I said before, the staff was really great and even offered to fill up our water bottles with ice and water for us in lieu of asking for a glass of water to use. Nothing was personal or overtly friendly until it was time for me to pay and a different woman than my waiter came over with my check and asked if I wanted a refill on my drink ... maybe if I was still eating but I'm ready to leave at this point. I was traveling out of terminal C and the options near my gate were limited. I am sure the restaurant knows this and that's why they feel justified charging these prices. Honestly, I was disappointed with this spot. It was expensive, the food was not great, the coffee was even worse. Thankfully I had a great server and it was a quick enough meal that it was not all bad. I decided to just get a hot coffee (espresso machine was down) and then a side order of scrambled eggs and sausage. The sausage was overcooked but the eggs were just okay. The coffee was absolutely burnt to a crisp and even though I used a whole caraffe of cream, it never changed color. The space itself is cute and has a fun theme, and everything was clean. I'm not a huge fan of the restaurant at Disney Springs (overhyped and over-priced) but I loved the Sunshine Diner at Terminal C AT OIA for my morning flight. I was immediately seated in a preferred booth and quickly placed my order of eggs, bacon, toast, and maybe the best OJ I've ever had in this airport. Friendly and fast service, I don't even think I was here 30 minutes and my food was served nice and hot. My niece's flight was delayed and we needed dinner. Lucky enough, her gate was by Sunshine Diner. I knew immediately we were going to eat there because I love Homecomin in Disney Springs. I was pleasantly surprised to see a lot of the same great drinks on the menu that Homecomin has, like the peach moonshine. The food menu is a little limited, but they have friend chicken, biscuits and mac and cheese, which are some of my favorites from Homecomin. I ended up going the healthy route and I ordered a salad and my niece ordered a cheeseburger. The salad was really fresh, it was a big portion and they were able to accommodate my dietary restrictions by removing certain ingredients. Even though we weren't in a rush, we were in and out in under 30 minutes. I ordered the chopped salad, which was mixed greens topped with shredded cheese, roasted corn, red onions, bacon, cherry tomatoes, avocado, a sliced hard boiled egg, and topped with balsamic vinaigrette. The portion size was impressive, as was the freshness of all the ingredients. It was prepared quickly (important for airport dining) and my server was pleasant. That restaurant is absolutely delicious and the food in that restaurant is delicious, so once I heard about this, I had to come by. I decided to order a chicken sandwich and it was pretty good, the problem is, I could only take two bites, and then I was full. No problem with the sandwich itself it was just me, my partner got the burger and told me the burger was seasoned perfectly to perfection, and had all the juices encapsulated inside of it. The food was fine, but the customer service was poor. I spent $32 on a take-out meal from the market but sat down to eat in the empty dining area, unknowingly violating their policy. Instead of a quick, empathetic correction, a staff member immediately kicked me out. Needless to say I was disappointed by the inflexible and unwelcoming customer service at this location at Terminal C of the Orlando Airport I own the mistake of missing the signage, but this was a simple opportunity for staff to gain a loyal customer with a friendly, "Next time, please remember this area is for dine-in orders," but they chose the opposite. Inflexible, zero-tolerance policies (even when tables are open) create a terrible, unwelcome customer experience. They need to prioritize "reading the room" and treating paying guests with basic empathy. I expect a large chain to enforce such a rigid policy, but not an independent establishment. True customer experience extends beyond a decent meal; it requires empathy and situational awareness. For the price I paid, I expected better. This interaction unnecessarily created a terrible experience and demonstrated a disregard for the customer. If anyone bothers to read this, look up "Just give em the Pickle" and they will see more happy customers at minimal costs and a huge ROI, however it would require their staff to think on their feet and prioritize customers over policy enforcement read more
