I ordered the salmon Benedict. The menu says it's made with smoked salmon. It did not have smoked salmon on it, it was canned salmon. It looked like cat food. I ate the perfectly cooked poached eggs that came with it and some of the slightly mushy hashbrowns. Others in the group had meals that looked great and they seemed to enjoy them. The staff were nice but the inaccurate info on the menu was very disappointing not to mention pretty expensive for what it actually was. We only waited about 5 or so minutes before we were seated, but we got a booth table which was awesome especially with us having a toddler. The staff was so patient with my daughter despite her having a complete meltdown because she was hungry. The food was delicious, fresh and hot. I have sleeping issues and I work in Everett. So one random morning, I woke up super early and felt a rumble in my tummy. I checked around and found this place. I liked it was listed under diners and hoped to find some delicious breakfast fare. And I did! I had the corned beef hash and eggs and they give you a decent size. The seating is minimal here. Maybe about six tables total. The man at the counter was very nice, the coffee was hot and delicious, and the decor was reminiscent of an old time diner. Based on the 4 star rating we decided to try Hometown for breakfast this morning 10/27. We got in and were seated upstairs right away. The interior is great and brings a nice atmosphere for dining. We ordered an omelet with a side of fruit, and the sausage and gravy with 2 eggs and bacon. The portions were generous however there were some problems. The omelet was swimming in grease and the fruit was not looking very tasty (see picture). The server got April and we showed her the issues. She said "we cut the fruit fresh on Friday and because the Mellon is so juicy they put the fruit on a tray to drain off the juice". Look I was a GM at many restaurants and we had fresh cut fruit. When it looked like this it was past the serving point. "If you would not serve it to your grandmother why would you serve it to a customer". We noted many other diners not eating the fruit and that was 5-10 people so there was something not right about the fruit. Sorry April this was bad period. We orders another dish as the omelet and fruit put us off. We got another sausage biscuits and gravy with eggs a bacon. This dish was good and filling. The service was very good and attentive but the food left us less impressed. The one outstanding thing was the cinnamon roll. Oh! April did give us a cinnamon roll to take home which was nice since we had some issues. Will we most likely not return and instead visit a place just a block over. read more

This is a nice little small town restaurant and the service was great. The food was good to okay. My wife ordered the Lite Breakfast ($12.99) that came with one egg cooked to order, a sausage, hashbrowns, and a buttermilk pancake. (She had the option of a slice of bacon and toast.) Her coffee was $4.75. She thought the sausage and pancake was just okay, but liked the hashbrowns (which were cooked crispy). I had a bacon, avocado and cheese omelet with Hollandaise sauce ($18.99) that came with hashbrowns and toast. The omelet was good, although sauce wasn't special and it could have had more bacon. I also was happy with the hashbrowns, but the sourdough toast wasn't particularly flavorful. Grandkids had the special Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Pancake Combo ($19.99) that came with a thick slice of bacon and both enjoyed their food. read more

Sumner WA. Excited to try this downtown place. Looked quaint. Not a lot of seating so I was seated at the counter. Asked about the CFS because that's my go to, but not made in house so no thanks on processed CFS. Three strip bacon, eggs, hash browns, toast. Pretty simple. Potatoes were spot on and crispy like I wanted. Eggs over easy were good but I think cooked in grease and not butter. Real drawbacks: Bacon came out cold. Sent back to kitchen to warm up although I think they would have just given me another order but I can't eat 6 thick strips of bacon. Still came back only warm. The price of the coffee is ridiculously expensive for drip. Starbucks doesn't charge that much for a grande. Unlimited pours but come on $5.25? What irked me more was she charged the couple after me the cost of one coffee between the two of them. WTF? Why wasn't mine 1/2 price because I was alone? Price gouging. Lastly the almost dollar surcharge for using my corporate credit card. For 17.25 for two eggs, bacon, browns and toast, and a $5.25 cup of coffee, the dollar you charged me to offset the card company fees was just plain tacky and greedy. Your food is not that high end for the prices you charge and charging me the absurd amount for a cup of coffee and the service charge for paying with card is pure greed. I won't be back because the cost lacked value for my money. Come on, almost $30 for food and tip for breakfast for 1?? Does that even seem legit for cafe food? read more

I was so hungry, I forgot to take photos of any food until after I started eating. We got to go upstairs and pick our own table, so we picked one right by the small windows so we could see what was happening on the street. It's an old building, which I love, and clean. We decided to eat here based on a recommendation of a coworker combined with reviews. We were not disappointed! I had the "South of the Border" omelette, and it was perfect. Chorizo (which I love and am picky about) was not greasy, loved the combination of peppers, cheese, etc., inside. Side of hash-browns were on point, for me, being cooked thin enough to remain crunchy yet maintain some softer potato pieces inside, making a great bite combination. My wife had the breakfast burrito, which I had to finish, as it was packed with all the tasty essentials and was pretty big. Maybe I needed to finish hers because we started with a shared, deluxe cinnamon roll first, which was delicious. Really good sized and the frosting wasn't overly sweet. Just enough sweetness to taste good, without being too rich or overpowering! I only took one photo after starting to eat, as we were joined by another couple, and I forgot initially. Great experience, loved the hometown atmosphere. The employees were all pleasant and joyful, even with all the exercise going up and down the stairs. Food was delicious! I wish I could give a 10 star, because I would. My family and I came in on Friday July 11th around noon and didn't wait long to be seated despite it being busy. Server(Key) took a minute to greet us, but was SO SWEET and apologized for the wait. I can tell she was busy, but never did we feel rushed to order and she was even joking with us. One of my friends recommended that we try Hometown Charm Cafe for a brunch date. I arrived in a group of 5 around 12:30 PM on a Sunday and it was a 40 minute wait. It's layout and decor is quaint. It's in an older building, and immediately upon entering is a snug waiting area that is separated from the rest of the restaurant by walls, a small booth with a staff member taking calls, and a small staircase leading upstairs. Just behind this is a mini bar and then an open view into the kitchen. It was completely packed with people sardined on a vintage couch and groups waiting outside. The hostess was busily taking calls and managing an old fashioned pen and paper list for reservations and the waitlist. My group of 5 was seated by the large bay windows on the main floor. I wish I had explored what was upstairs. The bathrooms in the back were tucked near the broom closet. The menu is fairly short but there was lots of freedom to customize your meal. The prices are kind of high for a diner. My table ordered the cinnamon rolls, the southwestern omelet, the Big Chicken chicken fried steak meals, and the special of the day French toast breakfast. The cinnamon roll was the star of the show. It was huge. It was well made and hard not to swallow whole. I would go back for the cinnamon roll alone. The French toast was made of regular sliced bread and topped with partially frozen strawberries instead of fresh ones. Most of the signature meals use size/quantity as their main hosting feature. So if you know what you like and want a lot of it, this is the place to go. Also, they had some impressively thick bacon, which is hard to come by at diners. The staff were all super friendly and quick to get back to us. Staff members were immediate to acknowledge us when we stepped in and even quicker to have us brought waters and served. I was nervous that arriving at 12:30 and then being seated within an hour of their close would be inconvenient to staff, but no one expressed annoyance or rushed us out. Overall, this location is a super safe bet for breakfast. It is down to earth but with lots of personality. It feels like a fun excursion but you don't need to be in your Sunday's finest here. read more

We've been many times and always had a fine experience until yesterday. My husband's birthday and I told them we were celebrating. His egg scramble had chicken bones in it, making it unappetizing and he did not eat any after finding. When I told the manager she did not offer a new meal, or to take it off of our bill. She said it looked like bone but they don't have anything with bones in the kitchen. Weird. The poor service on his birthday makes it so we unfortunately won't be back.
