I was curious about how the food would be, but wow the chicken is so juicy and flavorful. I tried one of category of food, so I got a platter, a salad, and a chargrilled wrap. For the platter I opted for the 1/2 chicken plate with sweet potato and pesto pasta salad to try out different pieces of the chicken. The meat fell right off the bone for the thigh. Though I'd personally choose another side instead of the pasta salad. The hot bird chargrilled wrap comes with rotisserie chicken in a hot sauce marinade and the garlic sauce complemented the juicy chicken very well, I'd highly recommend this wrap. They're very generous with the toppings for the cali salad and chicken, and it just felt like a salad. Nothing special, but it's a solid choice for a salad. read more

Stopped by Dizzy Bird at the Irvine Spectrum after shopping and ended up being really impressed with how fresh everything tasted. Their chicken is spun instead of fried, so it comes out juicy and flavorful but still feels lighter than a lot of other fast-casual spots. I started with the Classic Bird Wrap and a sweet potato. The wrap was warm and satisfying, and their DB sauce added a nice boost of flavor. The sweet potato was soft and nicely cooked without being too sweet. I also tried the half chicken plate with the spicy lemon garlic flavor, which was probably my favorite part of the meal. It came with warm pita, pickles, house sauces, roasted lemon garlic potatoes, and a pesto pasta salad. The plate also includes two sides, and both of the ones I chose had great seasoning and tasted fresh. The portion was filling but didn't leave me feeling heavy. I finished with the Cali Salad. The greens were crisp and the Caesar dressing was creamy but still balanced. From what I tried, their dressings in general are all solid. It's also nice that the menu is halal, which makes it an easy option for more people dining in the area. Came by for lunch today and was very impressed! Dizzy Bird is located in the Spectrum past the Apple Store and next to Blk Dot Coffee. The restaurant is on the smaller side but does have indoor and outdoor seating. All the staff is friendly and quick to serve, especially during their lunch rush. I got a 1/4 chicken plate and absolutely loved it. The chicken was flavorful and juicy, and the sides (potatoes and pesto salad) were both good too. I loved the sauces they provided as well, and would recommend their spicy sauce, dizzy sauce, and garlic sauce for any meal. Two team members, Eyad and Parham, went above and beyond to help an older couple. Busy but average noise level. Line moved fast and a lot got their food to go. Smells and looks phenomenal as you're in line or waiting for your food. While eating I noticed the gentleman bagging the food go over and push the trash down with his gloved hands to see how full it was. We got the chicken plate with hot lemon dressing and the hot chicken wrap. The half chicken plate came with 2 sides and a pita bread. One thigh, one breast and was tender. The sweet potato was roasted well and soft. The sauce is quite sour and more liquid, they do provide smooth garlic butter on the side. There was so much sauce, that was what I mostly tasted. The potatoes were soft. The pita bread however, was kind of lackluster and flat (cold). I think having the softer kind in triangles would help with soaking up the sauce, the kind they served feels more appropriate for a wrap. Definitely opt for a takeout box if you mean to take it back as the sauce can definitely get messy. The hot bird chicken wrap is a better way to get the mix of flavors and pairs really well with the sauce. The wrap outside is crunchy and inside is flavorful. Not as sauced as the plate. I'll be honest - I don't get the hype. I've seen Dizzy Bird make top 10 OC lists and I eventually succumbed to the pressure and gave it a try. Even here on Yelp this spot has nearly a perfect score rating, whereas other establishments at the spectrum struggle to even hit 4 stars (although I have spotted some blatant attempts to name drop workers for their service here...very suspicious!). Let's start with the atmosphere, which felt... disorganized? There were random boxes in the way - maybe it was just a busy day. On to the food: we got a Silly Bird wrap and Dizzy Bird bowl. I'm not saying the food tasted bad or anything, it was just astoundingly average and simple. You may as well get a rotisserie chicken and salad kit from Ralph's, and you'll get a similar experience. They do a nice grill/char on the wraps to make them toasty, so that was definitely a plus. But I found the options for wraps quite underwhelming. The 3 protein options are basically just chicken, pickle, and sauce - and that's it. We chose the Silly Bird because at least we can add some potato into the mix. I will give credit where credit is due - their DB sauce is hella good!! Overall, I don't see a strong enough differentiating factor for this place. If you want tasty chicken, there are other options.
