I ordered the 1/2 Rotisserie Original Chicken with Mashed Potatoes, Maple Glazed Carrots, Baked Beans and Corn Bread for me and my wife. It was great with leftovers to boot. A nice little joint with extremely good chicken is how I describe the place. It's in a cute building in Biddeford and has good parking. The food is very good-with some specials and choices for the non chicken lover. The owners are sweet, and put out such a nice selection. This place used to be dizzy birds but now it's called honest to goodness. It's definitely a different set up. It's like a large open concept kitchen where you can see everyone making your dishes. You order at the counter and then pick a table, and when your food is ready they call your name. Then you take care of your dishes at the end. Tipping is optional. We got the bbq 1/2 chicken meal for 2. It was ok. The chicken was juicy but not well flavored. The carrots were ok, the mashed potatoes were excellent. The gravy with them also delicious, best part of the meal, hands down. They're accessible into the building but a chair would have to wait on the first level, while someone else went to order, which is a hefty step down, but could still eat there with another person to order. There are many many options that are gluten and dairy free. Catering to that crowd I would say. I understand the dietary limitations but everything is better with gluten and real dairy. Their Cole claw had a bit too much purple cabbage for me! They do have some desserts - also dairy free. If any of this sounds appealing, check them out ! read more

I've been to Dizzy 2-3 times. The BBQ chicken and ribs are great. As are the mashed potatoes, grilled ratatouille. I like the beans, but they're missing something; as a cook in the food business for 40 years, I can taste that there's something not there with the beans. I would love to see some sides that aren't sweet. Other than the ratatouille, all of them have sugar or another sweetner added. Why not just roasted carrots instead of honey sweetened ones? Or roasted Brussels? Just suggestions from someone who's trying to be more careful about added sugar. I will continue to order from Dizzys as I know everything is from scratch. This is some of the best potato salad I've ever had. And it's vegan. You wouldn't think that a place labeled a rotisserie would have such an incredibly thoughtful and inclusive menu, but they do - so if you're vegetarian or vegan, don't write this place off. It's comfort food, it's stick to your ribs food, it's food made with love. They've got both a tofu sandwich (made with black bean puree and caramelized onions) and a daily vegan entree that comes with two sides and cornbread (GET. THE. CORN. BREAD.). The potato salad is mayo free - and it seriously hits the spot. Sometimes I feel oversaturated by mayo-based salads (even vegan ones), so this is a breath of fresh air. The maple ginger carrots (vegan) are so big and so flavorful! There's also mashed potatoes and mac and cheese (vegetarian) that I could swim in, along with a host of other sides. The staff here is truly in touch with the food - since everything's made in house! - so if you're unsure if something is vegan or vegetarian, just ask! There's herbivore friendly soups as well, enormous family-sized meals to takeaway (like lasagnas, pot pies, and even vegetarian shepherd's pie), and the pecan pie is absolutely lovely - not only is the perfect mini pie for one (#sharingiscaring #butnotwhenitcomestodesserts), part of the proceeds benefit the Alzheimer's Association of Maine. Overall enjoyable. The manager (owner?) immediate and genuinely greeted us when our party of 8 walked in, which is always a good sign. The decor of the place was simple but not uncomfortable, with succulent plants and cookbooks throughout, giving a sparse yet somewhat homey feel. We got there around 5 on a Friday, and there was plenty of seating. We soon discovered that a lot of the business that evening was takeout. A steady stream of folks walked in to pick up orders, which did cause our food to take a little longer than we'd hoped, but we were pretty hungry so maybe that's being unfair. Since it's a rotisserie place, most of us got the chicken, which all said was well flavored and super tender. Everyone who got the double leg meal thought the meat was spot on. Two in our party got the breast, which they said was a little on the dry side. The ribs were also well seasoned and very tender, cooked with what I assume was a house made dry rub. They were served a little on the cool side, but still tasty. The sides were a bit of a mixed bag: the kale and broccoli salad was AMAZING and possibly the best tasting thing we had, which was a pleasant surprise. The mashed potatoes were unmemorable, but the mac n cheese was good and hearty, if only slightly under seasoned. The cornbread was delicious, and unapologetically sweet. The gingered carrots and ratatouille were both passable, but as a card-carrying omnivore, I was hoping veggies would be more memorable. In general, the food delivered on being a tasty home-cooked meal, with some room for improvement. For what we got, it was a little pricey, but what isn't since COVID... Overall, I would go there again to try some of the other dishes, but with so many restaurants to choose from, it might take a while before it made it back into the rotation. Price for pint and a half of what turned out to not be chicken soup, very small piece of cornbread and a small side of kale salad $25.00 I've been disappointed a few times. The chicken soup? Brown, didn't taste like chicken soup and congealed to solid gel when refrigerated. A pint of Chili was too salty to eat. Once the kale salad was about 30% cranberries. We got the mixed BBQ plate which gave us 1/2 of a chicken, 1/2 rack of ribs and three sides. We chose native corn salad (delightful), mac & cheese (holy crap) and the roasted carrots, which we thought were maple carrots, but unfortunately turned out to be fennel (we brought these to my parents). It came with what can only be described as a brick of sweet cornbread, and we got a pot de creme for dessert (a thick, rich chocolate mousse with fresh cream and berries). The meat fell off of the bones, the flavors were developed and delightful, and they even gave us a squirt bottle of their bbq sauce! My family vacations in the Ocean Park area every summer and we're always looking for new nearby restaurants to try. Dizzy Bird was an exciting discovery - a perfect lunch spot in Biddeford! First of all, the service was outstanding. The lady who took our order was personable, happy to answer questions, and made us feel right at home. A manager also came around to ask us how our lunch was - we really appreciated that extra touch! They also have a rewards program - we didn't partake because we're not from the area, but it's definitely worth signing up if you live nearby. For my meal, I ordered the chicken breast with mac & cheese and mashed potatoes for the sides. The meals also come with a choice of cornbread or baguette (I got the cornbread, very tasty). Everything I ate was wonderful - the chicken was moist, the mac & cheese was rich and flavorful... but the standout for me was the mashed potatoes with a side of gravy. Buttery, Yukon Gold potatoes mashed with the skins left in and a rich but not too overpowering gravy... this is definitely my preferred mashed potato style. The meal came to around $14/each for lunch, which at first seemed a little pricey - but each meal produced a huge amount of leftovers, so it ended up being a pretty good value when all was said and done. They also had some samples available at the front counter - I tried some pickled veggies and a piece of a snickerdoodle cookie, and both were great. I'm from Texas and if you know anything about Texas and BBQ, you know it's serious there. We ordered a full rotisserie chicken and some baby back ribs with a side of cornbread and butternut squash. The chicken breast was insanely juicy and the seasoning was spot on, the ribs were fall off the bone tender and I loved the flavor of both. Not only do you get massive portions, but the food is very good quality. The chicken was moist all the way through and had a delicious rub on the outside. The sides, Brussels sprouts and Mac and cheese, were both great as well, but the cornbread took the crown as best side with its thin layer of brown sugar on the top. The only issue we had was how long it took to get our meals...I think they ran out of sprouts and had to make more. Half a chicken, 2 sides and corn bread. This chicken is delicious guys, seasoning was on point and it was juicy. The sides were ok, I definitely liked the Mac and cheese better than the mashed potatoes which could used more flavor. My cousin and friend throughly enjoyed their food as well.
