The best little seafood shack. Excellent soups. Fried seafood platters and the star of the show- the Fishwich sandwich. Buttery perfectly toasted white bread, American cheese crispy fried fish and tarter sauce. Run don't walk here. Another surprise hit was the French onion soup. So Yummy!! Their homemade desserts are great too!!!

The food was good I got the combination platter, shrimp scallops, and fish and fries. It was good. The service was great. Very helpful. Ambience was nice. Sat outside on a nice day.

Cup of New England clam chowder

Have to say I'm a bit disappointed as I write this review. I've been in the mood for clam chowder for weeks. Heard this place had "the best soup on Long Island" voted by news 12 viewers. Chowder was very subpar. It wasn't think like most clam chowders. I can honestly say the clam chowder I made myself a few months ago was a lot better. I also had calamari. It was good, but not amazing. Batter was very light. But nothing was special that set this place apart from other places I've had calamari at . Service was eh. Waitress never really came back, took a while to come back to my table to take my order, even though she saw the menu was closed, and it took a while to get the bill. I wouldn't return. Plenty of other seafood places in Bay Shore.

    Southwest chicken salad.

First time here at this dark and dingy hole in the wall. I ordered a dozen oysters and they were bland. Ordered a southwest chicken salad, and the chicken was tasteless and not edible. It tasted as if I was chewing on gristle. There was globs of some type of dressing that had absolutely no flavor. $55 for one person thrown away. With the tip it was $65. Expensive for subpar food. The only good thing was the wine.

The best key lime pie on Long Island!

I found this immensely popular restaurant umpteen years ago while waiting for the Ocean Bay Park ferry to depart from across the street. Ever since then, I stop by all-year round just to buy some clams and/or flounder. They are the only locally-caught fish that is sold at the restaurant, according to some informative waiters. The clams here are freshly picked from the Great South Bay. The flounder is caught from the Atlantic Ocean. All other fish are delivered from the Delaware Bay. This evening's clam appetizer special, the clam sampler, was good. It was a clam trio: clams casino, clams oreganata and baked clams. I enjoyed the first two but not the latter. The baked clam was chopped up in a mildly seasoned stuffing. Next time, I will just order a dozen top neck clams on the half shell or the clams casino appetizer, which is what I usually get. The Fishburger, which is made from fried flounder, is my favorite fried fish dish. The New England Clam Chowder is tasty and is loaded with clams. It is by far the best chowder that I have eaten since once upon a time when I was a college student in Boston. The key lime pie (hold the whipped cream, please!) is the best one that I have had on Long Island. The graham cracker crust is crunchy throughout, and the filling is soft and tart. All desserts are made on the premises. Staff always provide spectacular customer service. Soda refills are free. Water glasses are replenished continually. The owners, Pat and Lynda, certainly know what they are doing. They greet all their regulars, like myself, by first name. They are also as bubbly and effervescent as the fountain soda that they sell. The soda is indeed bubbly here, more so than most other restaurants that I patronize. The two women present different appetizer and main course specials every day, but every time I come here I order some clams and/or flounder...and a slice of their outstanding key lime pie.

Small spot with some delicious seafood. They also have tables set up outside and you can dine inside if you want. They didn't have cocktails when I was there but they had beer and wine.

Clams casino, Seafood bisque, and Caesar salad
    Megan O.

Unfortunately this "hole in the wall" place doesn't have the best service or food. It is very overpriced for the quality of food. The clams were dry, the bisque wasn't flavorful, and the salad was bare. We sat outside and our food was all in to go containers and our wine was in a paper cup. The bartender forgot one part of our order and accidentally added a double order of the expensive clams. I would try another place by the docks.

Cherrystone clams, Blue Point oysters, shrimp poboy!

Incredible food and service! Met one of the owners, Lynda, who was super kind and personable!! The Long Island clam chowder is THE BEST CHOWDER I've ever had! The cherrystone clams and Blue Point oysters were delicious and shucked well!! Such a cute and charming maritime ambiance by the water. Lovely experience! Will definitely be back!!! !!!!

Cherry Stone Clams on half shell
    Philip E.

Our Son said let's go to Chowder Bar. Why did we wait so long to come back? Parked in rear lot and was surprised how packed it was for a Saturday afternoon at 1 PM. Started off with just delivered and shucked cold and briny cherry stone clams on the half shell. To say they were the best we ever had is an understatement. They were huge, sitting in seawater and literally made us tear up as they went down cause they were so good! Piping hot and 5 star French Onion and Long Island chowder soups hit the table next. Both were brimming in flavor with toasted texas toast and onions smothered in melted cheese in one and clams potatoes and carrots in the other one. Can the third round be just as good? Well, the owner and head chef stopped by to say hello and she was making our entrees next. And minutes later came a spectacular Shrimp Po Boy sandwich platter and a fried combination seafood boat. Cole slaw was crunchy sweet and delicious. The fried shrimp, bay scallops, whole clams and flounder were on point, the whole meal was the best meal we have had out in months. This is a can't miss in Bay Shore by the ferries.

The…read moreconcept is fantastic: the menu changes regularly to highlight a different state, and during my visit it was Georgia week. The food was outstanding from start to finish. The Vidalia onion soup was honestly the best onion soup I've ever had, and I'm a huge onion soup fan. The crab cake bites were among the best crab cakes I've had anywhere, which is saying a lot because I've spent years searching for great crab cakes. I also loved the maple bacon mac and cheese, which struck a perfect balance between sweet and savory. My daughter enjoyed the Georgia wings and sweet potato fries with a marshmallow dipping sauce. Everything was packed with flavor. The cocktails were equally impressive. I had the Georgia-themed Old Fashioned, while my daughter tried the Guy Fieri-inspired Georgia margarita. Both were creative, well-balanced, and memorable. As a mobility disabled person, accessibility is always important to me, and Roadtrip did very well. There is plenty of parking behind the restaurant with an accessible route to the entrance. Inside, the aisles are wide, the seating is flexible with movable chairs, and the restroom is fully accessible. The only thing keeping it from a perfect accessibility score is the lack of automatic doors. Food: 11/10 Cocktails: 10/10 Accessibility: 9/10 Roadtrip Bayshore earns my highest recommendation. Great food, great drinks, a fun and unique concept, and accessibility done right.

The premise of the…read morerestaurant is that every week they highlight a different U.S. state, creating entrées, appetizers and drinks that showcase the selected state's leading agricultural industries and cuisine the state is known for. The menu and food were excellent, there's truly something for everyone. We opted for the spinach and artichoke dip appetizer, and our entrees were the Brisket Horseradish Stack and the Blue Summit Burger. The service was great - the wait staff, attentive. What unfortunately has left a lasting impression and may be the reason I don't go back is they're okay, and likely encourage (based on their IG) content creators to visit. I understand in this day and age, exposure means everything. Getting a viral video could mean the definition of sink or swim in a competitive industry. What's not okay is having content creators with their bright lights blinding the patrons next to them. Having a bright camera light shone in our faces several times through our dinner soured the experience. I hope in the future the staff, and the owner (who was there), are more conscious of the dining experience for others.

There was an overall chill Friday night ambiance, watching sports and hanging with friends. We sat at the bar and had no problems quickly ordering and getting our meals. Prices are pretty standard for the Long Island bar scene. All the food was great though. I personally had the chicken avocado wrap with sweet potato fries, and you know a place is good when the fries have special dipping sauce just for them. The wrap was perfectly mixed together (not just thrown on in chunks) with a good sauce distribution to ensure each bite was enjoyable. Great meal and spot to have if you want to have some drinks and food and go right out on the town afterwards.

Each time I've visited I ordered a few different oysters and have never been disappointed. You really cannot go wrong with what you order. The fritto misto appetizer is outstanding, perfect for 2-4 people. Also had to try the oysters Rockefeller which are always delicious. My first visit (NYE '26) they had octopus on their specials menu. I PRAY they bring it back because it was memorable, even 6 months later. My first visit I tried the barramundi which, at the time was a special menu item. It seems they added it to the Mains but with a different preparation. This time I tried the salmon which was excellent. If seafood's not your jam, they have plenty of menu items to choose from. In addition to the food, they also have great cocktails and a stellar looking happy hour menu I can't wait to try. I recommend making reservations, especially if you're visiting on a Friday or Saturday night. Both times I went here the restaurant was packed, particularly the bar area. Such small oysters for a place that's on the coast and bases it menu off the ocean. Our tuna tartar tacos were great. Best I've ever had. The flavor is towards the bottom of the taco so take a big bite to get all that flavor. IMO this is a nice place. I would not make it a go to spot for their oysters. But I would return.

Robin entered the building it's Memorial Day and there was just a three top there so when we walked in, Joe was attending to the people at his top but when he saw us, he expertly expedite himself from them to come and greet us and welcome us to your establishment top shelf automatically we sat down. We were waiting for another couple to join us. We had a nice conversation with him and he gave us drinks at the bar explained we're waiting for another couple to come. He said no problem when they get there we'll take it through table and that's what he did. The other couple of rides we sent the table. Wonderful service came up spoke to us very very attentive went over the menu with us gave the specials was absolutely incredible. Then I realize that he was all alone in the bar, not only was attending to us. He was only also attending to the other top plus, he was the bartender and the waiter and whoever was working in the back though your kitchen also wonderful then the place lit up there was a table of four came in another table of two and another top of two. This kid didn't even flinch. Continue to take care of every one of us very attentive and then the doors open up he had about 25 people altogether came in and came up to the bar. I got you I said if you need me, I'm right here because I've seen it before this kid took care of a full bar too deep I might say also six tables of average three to table and just made your place run amazing so my advice is this when you find the guy like Joe you hold onto this kid like Grimm death and don't let go employees like a guy like Joe a few and far between you would do your company and yourself a service to make sure that you hold onto him and make him happy and keep him with you because there was never I've never seen a better ambassador for any place that I've gone to then watching this kid work today again I'm a bar owner. I've been a restaurant business. I'm a chef and I have never seen one kid run a place like that kudos to him. Kudos to you for hiring them and kudos to you if you hold onto it again unbelievable great experience. I will recommend your place. I will recommend to my friends as I had that my friends called to stay today. I will continue to do so as long as you continue to have people like Joe work for you. Great job all around.
