Geez where do I start! first of all customer BEWARE of the shady half service you get at high cost. in December my ex tried fixing my dripping pool filler pipe. Unfortunately he broke it and couldn't re-pipe himself being late for work, and I had to shut the water main off. It was Saturday late afternoon so sadly the only ones open to come out was DMS. Tony came out Sat December 19th and said he needed to "Break up the concrete" with an industrial tool he didn't have on him, and said he'd have to come back Monday then drove off. 3 minutes later he pulled back up and said he could knock it out real quick for a couple hundred bucks since I had a little daughter at home and we needed water. I'm thinking cool, nice fella! After a few hits with a regular hammer into the concrete which didn't even go a more than centimeter deep (chicken scratch in my opinion), some pipe I already had, and some blue Christy's blue glue it took about 30 minutes. Tony then says that'll take care of it with no problems and said it was $475.00. I almost fell over since it was 300 more than originally told. I chalked it up to a weekend charge and handed $500.00 to include a tip since he did come back. The following week I left for California for a few weeks, then returned only to leave again due to my grandmothers passing. Since burial services were delayed and up in the the air I was gone another couple of months. when I came back it took me another two weeks to notice my baseboards inside were bowing. It was clear this pipe had been leaking for some time and went undetected since I was away so much. Honestly who also would hawk eye it after spending $500.00 and being assured it would not leak anymore? I had difficulty locating the company I used since I had called so many that day thinking it was dignity. after they told me it wasn't them I looked harder and found a txt message way down at the bottom of my history and reached out to their txt number on April 15th explaining the situation but didn't get a reply, until I emailed on April 23rd to which I received a message on April 30th that they were sending Tony back on May 2nd. He said he wasn't trying to be a dick or anything but because it was past 30 days he would have to charge me $180.00 additional. Ok so I'll be almost $700.00 for am outer pipe that's a $60.00 fix? I reached out and spoke with Shawna on Monday May 3rd and explained everything again and sent an email showing the photos of Tony's $500.00 work. By Friday May 7th no reply so I called Shawna for her to tell me that the pipe wasn't leaking from the spot on the last repair and also since Tony used my parts so they wouldn't cover it. First off he had listed on the original invoice that he used their parts off the truck, nothing about mine. Secondly wouldn't have had a problem paying an additional $5.00 for their PVC part, but I wasn't advised this would be an issue. My parts just happened to still be laying there and he decided to use them on his own. And the leak is absolutely in a spot tony had worked on. Just because my part was used, it doesn't count as an area he worked on? What??? Does this look like a $500.00-$700.00 job to you, especially not even lasting 4 month? I know it started leaking within 30 days, unfortunately I wasn't home to be aware of it.... Bottom line stay away from such a shady dishonest company. Recently got an estimate to repair from a reputable plumbing company for less than half of they're fix our failed repair re-quote. read more

I talked to him about an issue with with my sewer and asked about the camera. He pops off with "it will be $699". I told him his call center told me it was included, he was clearly taken by surprise and just obnoxious after that. He stormed off like some angry child. I called DMS about 6 months ago due to a water pipe burst on the side of my house and Doug came over right away to fix it. He was very professional and did a great job getting everything fixed and a new pipe on right away!! About a week ago, I noticed a slow drip coming from that same pipe and called DMS and they sent over Doug again and he informed me that they only warranty their service for 3 months but he ended up fixing the leak for me for free this visit!!!! DMS was referred to me by my mother who is a property manager. I had a shower leak that turned into about 50sq ft of water damage behind my shower and beneath it which was the ceiling of my kitchen below. I described the damage to Doug (the alleged owner of DMS) over the phone and he immediately asked me if I had homeowner's insurance. Without hesitation, I replied that I did. First mistake. So Doug shows up, checks out the leak, immediately cuts a hole in my wall, shows me what happened and insists I file a claim. So I did, not knowing any better. My deductible turned out to be extremely high at $3200. Doug obviously saw the dollar signs. I asked him to give me an estimate. I even put him on the phone with a contractor friend of mine who also asked for an estimate. He deflected with the complexity of the water damage and said he could fix it, I just needed to go through my insurance. Mind you, DMS plumbing does not advertise water damage repair. Apparently this is a service Doug provides as Water Damage and Restoration Services, LLC. In a panic because I already had a hectic day and it was a Saturday afternoon, I let him proceed and in the meantime made sure my policy would cover everything. Doug spent a few hours cutting 3 holes in my bathroom and kitchen ceiling and built a containment for the air movers. When it came down to it, after speaking with a few people, there was just no way the job was going to meet my deductible so I tearfully told Doug I could not afford it or to make a claim. I asked him how much it would really cost and offered to pay cash. He told me he would normally BILL my insurance $3800 without explaining how or why but would do the job for $1800 for me. I was overwhelmed, never did get an estimate the whole day and he was nearly done so I gave him $1900 cash ($100 to rethread and glue my shower arm back) and he left. All evening and over the next couple of days, I called around, talked to other contractors and homeowners, my insurance company and researched this type of work online. It turns out drying out water damage costs a lot less then what he charged me. I received the yellow copy of a receipt for DMS plumbing for the shower arm repair and an invoice via email with just a job description and rate of $1800 paid cash from Water Damage and Restoration Services, LLC. Doug came and went over the next few days checking the progress. On the last day, he repaired my shower arm. He must have been able to tell I was uneasy because one of the last things he said to me was "sorry it couldn't be a better price." That seemed unusual so I reached out to Doug via text and inquired about the job in detail. I got a very dismissive reply. I assume Doug needed the $1800 cash a lot more than I did considering how much he bragged about his lifestyle, himself, various trades and handyman expertise during "small talk" while he was in my home. I concur with the other reviews regarding price gouging and wonder how could a nearly $4k job billed to insurance be cut in over half so easily and without itemization. I do not recommend Doug, DMS Plumbing or Water Damage and Restoration Services and have passed all this information along to my mother, my friends, other homeowners and various insurance companies. Buyer beware, water damage almost always goes hand in hand with plumbing repair which makes it the perfect opportunity to be taken advantage of by Doug in an emergency situation. read more

Our business had a leaky sink and corporate called to get someone to come take a look. A man, I believe named Diego although he was in and out too fast for me to get a name, came in and went to take a look at the sink. We turned it off to prevent more water damage and he immediately started to get an attitude when it wasn't turned on by the time he got here(and considering he was 30 minutes behind I don't know how we were expected to know when to turn it on). Then he stormed out to the van and when we told him it was turned back on, he came back in. But he became even more agitated, saying he wouldn't even look without payment, even though we tried to explain that it was corporate who called. Called for a slab leak. They determined the issue, made some holes, found the line and rerouted the line in 1 day. I received a few quotes for a reroute and their pricing is very competitive. They used a high durable PEX and I requested it be insulated. Doug and his partner (sorry forgot your name) was very nice, knowledgeable, and passionate about what they do. While they were working, they told me exactly what they're going to do and gave tips plumbing along the way. Fantastic service! If you're looking for a fast, friendly and efficient company, look no further! I stumbled upon DMS Plumbing on Yelp during a midnight crisis with the bathroom and water. I spent a good hour or so trying to figure out what was going on but had no real luck. Thanks to DMS Plumbing, everything is working smoothly and there isn't anymore water wastage. The company is typically appointments only but they do provide an emergency service. The appointment was made for the morning and man were they punctual(this is something I really appreciate). The guy (Doug) who was coming to check everything out made sure to call when he was on his way and when he was nearby. Now let me tell you about Doug... He's a phenomenal employee and just genuinely enjoys his trade. Upon arrival, he was pleasant and very respectful. He made sure I was well informed on the issue at hand and gave me a thorough breakdown to what my options and prices were going to be. Throughout the entire process, Doug taught me a few "basic" things, which I thought was really cool of him. They want to charge $700 for an estimation.Total cost $750 for labor and parts to repair a broken pipe, not to change the all system, just to put 2 pieces of plastic pipe which would cost no more than $15. Labor, definitely not that much or they would charge $700 for an hour... When we asked if they'll replace the all system or just the broken pipe, she didn't even know and said she have to ask. They knew we couldn't wait longer. It was obvious they just wanted to take advantage of an emergency situation. I don't recommend a contractor that is totally dishonest and takes advantage of you!!! Another contractor quote the job for less than $250! Did the job and he didn't BS us. So disappointing of people like DMS Plumbing. STAY AWAY!!! Be careful of those contractors! We had a plumbing emergency! The master shower backed up, and it was incredibly disgusting. It flooded the bathroom and caused a huge mess. I called DMS right then, and they had someone come out soon after. He snaked the clog and got everything fixed up very quickly. Quick service and decent prices--it cost a lot less than I anticipated. We have had no issues since. The plumber they sent over was also very friendly. I got very good vibes from him. We will use DMS plumbing if any other emergencies come up in the future. (Oh! Also, the plumber fixed our leaky sink for free and taught my fiancé the trick to keep it from happening again. Very nice.) read more

In late February DMS plumbing replaced a water heater at my house and everything seemed fine although they quoted me one price and then after the work was done said there was 3% credit card fee that was not disclosed to me before hand., well I don't have $1,400 cash sitting around so I had to pay with a card and had to pay this extra fee. About a month later I was contacted by the water district saying I had a water leak and I needed to fix it so I called DMS again to assist with that. Upon arrival the technician turned off the water to my house and the water meter was still spinning indicating a leak outside the house. He said it was a leak in my water main line and I needed a replacement. I asked him if it was possible if it could be anything else including the new water heater. He took a look at the water heater and said it wasn't leaking but whoever installed it should have replaced the ball valve as it was corroding and would start leaking at some point. DMS were the ones who replaced it! He said well it wasn't him personally, which was true. He then reiterated that my main line was leaking and gave me a $2,700 estimate to replace the main line and he would throw in the ball valve for free, how generous. I decided to get other estimates and had another plumber come out the next day. He was there about 30 seconds and turned off the the irrigation with a switch outside the house which immediately stopped the water meter spinning. I felt stupid as I didn't even know this switch existed and didn't try it myself but DMS should have known and tried that especially after me asking 100 times what else it could be. These guys were going to dig up my front yard and replace a main line for $2,700 that didn't even need to be replaced! I wonder what would have happened after all the digging and they discover the line is totally fine. I wont be using this company again. read more

I have called DMS Plumbing for years for my plumbing problems, but I will never call them again. I felt absolutely duped! I called about a clogged shower drain. DMS sent, according to the invoice, Delfina Z. He quoted the job at $395.00. When I expressed surprise a clogged drain could be so expensive, he said "It's a big job". I said, well if it's that involved, okay. 2 to 3 minutes later, he has removed the overflow arm and stopper and he's done! That's about $8000 an hour. read more
