Came here to get a gel pedicure the other day. Jenny was my technician and she was very warm and kind. I appreciate that she took her time and was gentle. I usually get a little nervous getting pedis bc of the fear of getting cut but that was not the case here. I'm not sure what happened but one of the polish on my toes also chipped a few hours after I got them done. I called them to let them know and they were very accommodating and said I could come back the next day to fix it. When I came back, everyone was still very warm and kind. Service is amazing here. Time for after r/v update, as I have noticed a significant & unexpected change since my initial 90 days as a new customer-a shift, some might call a "switch-up."As my great-grandmother used to say, once the honeymoon phase ends, you truly see a person's real nature.I am providing this update review after being w/Angie from the very beginning,which has now been 5mos. To be clear,there has been no falling out w/Angie or the team.However,due to numerous private messages w/various questions,this review is intended to provide transparency for prospective customers. When the nail shop opened in 01/2026, Angie positioned & advertised "Pinkie Nails" as San Francisco's premier destination for creative & extravagant nail designs on YELP. Also,offering an extensive range of services. This was what made her shop so appealing & inviting! Lately, she has been describing her advertised designs to me by saying,"You always get the difficult & very hard designs!"Especially,when I have to r/t because my husband says,"Who did those designs, a first grader? I didn't pay all that money for that! You'd better go back tomorrow and get your nails done right; Angie is slipping. What's going on with her?" Then the"switch-up"was incorporated.Following our discussion a month ago, whenever I attempted to have a normal conversation w/Angie, she would respond with,"I don't understand or I don't know!" This was extreamly surprising, as we had been engaging in full conversations in English fr. 01/2026 to late 04/2026,until I expressed my husband's & my concerns regarding lengthy waits despite having an appointment,substandard fill-ins that appeared in need of repair immediately after completion, poorly executed designs, the failure to communicate an inability to perform certain designs & being cut/drawing blood but offered no discount! As a disabled customer recovering from an accident & attending weekly medical rehab.I am unable to sit or stand for long periods due to severe pain.I communicated this from my first visit to Angie's nail shop.Despite having scheduled appts,in the past,I've endured 3 consecutive fill-in sessions where I waited between 1.5 & over 2 hrs each time.I raised this concern w/Angie after my husband became very upset that I was coming home barely able to walk, questioning the purpose of making an appointment if it still resulted in long waits & extended periods of sitting. He wondered why make an appointment if it would not be honored or respected, leading to hours of waiting. Following our discussion, I was able to reach a mutual understanding w/Angie & resolve the issue. I will provide an update after returning for the 3rd time w/in 24 hrs to have my nails repaired. For some reason, the clear topcoat contin.to peel off, which is unusual.Unfortunately,I must go in again today,which is quite inconvenient. Update: Angie decided to re-do the entire design.At first she tried it & suggested some basis designs. Since,I paid for $30 in nail designs,I want $30 worth of designs! I got it! So, a few questions in my inbox: The cost is significantly higher, with an increase of $20-$25 compared to what my previous nail tech. charged before relocating to L.A. Additionally, the prices exceed those of other local nail shops locally! Do you feel comfortable when they speak in their language?Honestly, in America, it's considered rude for a business to have a full conversation while a customer is right in front of them.I get that some of the female employees don't always speak or understand English well. So, when I was a new customer, it didn't bother me. But after standing up for myself & dealing with ongoing issues with my nails, it's become a little uncomfortable. I know they are talking about me & my intricate designs: "as both she & her husband frequently complain, she thinks I'm giving her a discount,I'm not lol,that's a trick, I say to customers! So,if it's not perfect, she should overlook it, yet she always complains.I WAS SHOCKED! This is what my cell phone's ChatGPT translated for me on the day I had to return, along w/other appointments that followed. My husband advised me to keep it on while in the shop. I am praying for Angie! I still like her work & I am still a customer. I won't disclose what they said, as it would damage their business & provoke outrage among their customers. Including, many mothers who bring in their student daughters. Suffice it to say, they would lose a significant number of clients. Let this serve as a reminder: In today's age of modern technology, one must be extremely cautious about what is said, assuming others cannot understand it! read more

They did a decent job in the nails, even though the gel seems somewhat thick (this is why I'm giving 3 stars instead of 1), but I don't recommend them for waxing at all. When I got home from my appointment, I saw how poorly that job was actually done. Wax was everywhere: my clothes, my sandals, my heels, my floor (from stepping on it with my waxy heels), my cat. Total disaster. And to make things even worse, they missed a bunch of hair! I'm talking giant patches of hair. I don't think the technician had any proper training in waxing. She had me roll over that table several times which is completely unnecessary, provided an esthetician knows what they are doing. When I called them, the receptionist was very polite and apologetic, she told me to come back so that they can put some acetone on me to remove the wax. First, I don't have all day to spend on a pretty straightforward procedure. Second, the acetone suggestion sounded just insane, because they are not supposed to use acetone on skin, it's for wax removal from surfaces only! I really don't think they know what they are doing to be honest. I ended up just fixing it myself at home, within a fraction of time, with a fraction of mess. I'll continue just doing my own wax moving forward. read more

How I really wanted to like this place. I went in for my first appointment and the owner was very nice and helpful, she kept telling me how much of a discount she was giving for new customers which honestly didn't matter to me I'm just looking for a good nail shop I can go to with great customer service and great work. I got a pedicure and my two big toes acrylic for the first time and she assured me she would take care of me, it was a bit thick but she told me it's because of the acrylic so I was fine with it. I came back 3 weeks later for a pedicure and I guess a fill for my 2 big toes with acrylic and she told me I don't need a fill because I don't like it thick which I agreed. I rushed out of the nail shop because cars were being towed and the meter mate was giving tickets I just wanted to make sure I wasn't one of them. My pedicure looked fine but when I got home I noticed my right big toe nail was so thick it didn't look the same as the left so I called and asked if she can just fix it. She didn't want to fix it she kept telling me they were busy. Also my toe on the side of my big toes were chipped and I get gel pedicures. I went in since she didn't want to offer me an appointment to fix it and the shop was empty, she remembered who I was and said yes we're busy I can't fix it. Also this lady told me her name was Victoria and when the property manager came in she told him her name was Angie. Also they reside the sterile bags they keep the nail tools in. read more

Really sweet hardworking Viet ladies. They used to own a shop near the Hickey Costco but they wanted to branch out and show clients that they can do really good nail art, so SF is the place to be! I only came for a pedicure since cute clean toes are a treat for me. Doing it myself is not the same. Never as clean. LOL They did a great job cleaning up my feet and making it feel nice and new. Some callus work, hot stone and lotion-ing. It was a weekday afternoon and the place was empty. Really hoping they do well. The owner really believes in their work and if you need fixing. They'll do it. Super clean and spacious location. I bet it'd be great for a mini girls mani/pedi day. Price I guess is reasonable, gel pedi is $55, I added chrome so it was +15. But they're running their grand opening deal of 20% so $56 is a good deal. I'll probably be back, easy parking, street and metered available. Close to home! read more

second time coming in for a gel pedi and this time i left with an open wound :/ my nail tech was too busy talking with the other employees and was scrubbing my foot way too hard in the same area for a good minute or two straight. by the time i realized it started to hurt i saw that my foot was bleeding and pointed it out. she said sorry and proceeded to lotion my feet and legs and went right over that spot and it started stinging. wasnt until 5 minutes later she finally got a bandaid. didnt even offer a discount and had to pay full price. 2 days later and the wound is still pretty deep, not a surface level cut. hurts when i walk. also the paint job isnt nice and some of the gel is flooding the cuticles. read more

They are the worst! I treated a 12-year old to a manicure, as a bounding moment. First of all, I had a reservation. Second, the shop was completely empty! Third, they didn't understand English. Last, but not least, they were unfriendly and behaved as though they didn't want to be bothered. They did have the child wash her hands.
