My favorite mix is the satay sauce with soy sauce, and topped with garlic and onion. House Special Tomato Broth (Half) $6.92 As a party of 4, we picked 2 different broths as the half portion. The tomato broth was very fresh with the sweetness of the tomato. Inner Mongolian Lamb Back Bone Pot (Half) $38 And we highly recommend the Inner Mongolian Lamb Back Bone Pot! The pot was filled with lamb back bone with meat, which was a big portion for us already. The pot made all the meat and vegetables extra tasty. Definitely a must-try! Got carry out so I gave them four stars based on friendliness of the staff who took my order and promptness of the food preparation. The food itself was tasty, although pricey, and the prices on the menu were not accurate. the waitress taking my order verbally told me that everything was some percentage higher, which I couldn't just calculate in my head for each item, so just take that into account when ordering. Given the inflated prices, I would say that the prices are somewhat higher than several Chinese restaurants. Cumin lamb, which is my usual favorite was $23, which is usually closer to or less than $20 at other places. We traveled 45 minutes to try this restaurant. From the reservation you'd think this restaurant is extremely popular but it's not. They kept on reminding you that they keep your table for 10 minutes only but when you arrive there are only 2 other tables. The restaurant is trying to be a Mongolian hot pot with the decoration but honestly it's a Sichuan hot pot place. Everyone working there is from Sichuan and the flavor is Sichuan style except that the spicy soup base is not very spicy. They however do they grilled lamb leg and ribs. The ribs are pretty good. As for the hotpot there aren't a lot of choices when especially seafood and there is really only two choices of lamb. They also don't give a lot of pieces for the price. The one thing that set them apart is the lamb spine (Chinese call them lamb scorpion) which is popular in many Northern Chinese restaurants (Bejing). They are more fresh here than some other restaurants that sell them here in the Bay Area. So here is my suggestion, if you want the lamb spine or even the lamb ribs you can come here. If you want hot pot there are so many other choices. Service is alright except they didn't inform us of the price increase (10%) until when we pay and that's actually against the law. Price is high for what you get and there is a lack of choices for hot pot ingredients. read more

Really delicious hotpot spot in Inner Richmond! It's at the end of Clement st, a bit a aways from the busy part of Clement st. It can be easy to miss but for sure I must try! Not only was the hotpot delicious and a fair price, the staff were also super nice. I had the classic spicy broth and it was great. The add on plates are pretty large too. I was expecting smaller plates, so we ended up ordering way too much food. All the ingredients seemed fresh and good quality. Our total, for 2 people, ended up being around $100 but we could've left out a few plates. Overall, the price is fair and the food was delicious. Really enjoyed everything! read more

Ever since Happy Lamb closed downtown, i've been on a mission to find the best hot pot. After trying a few places, i am so happy we took a chance and tried this hidden gem. I now cannot stop raving about the quality of the food here ! and the service was wonderful - the experience felt warm, as if being welcomed into someone's home. Ordered the spicy lamb bone spine broth (which has lots of meat in it!) and mushroom broth . Definitely good to balance the spicy with a savoury and veggie based. So many pieces of lamb with meat on the bone...tender and perfectly cooked. The quality of the meats were also excellent (beef and lamb) sooooo flavourful, great price. Earlier tonight, we had a fantastic dining experience at DNM Hot Pot. Additionally, I think we had some of the best customer experience ever at any hot place I've ever been to, so hats off to the amazing staff and kitchen! Everything arrived very quickly, which was awesome. The dishes were well-prepared, super clean and fresh, and the sauce area was really well stocked. Honestly, we had little to no regrets on any of our meat selections and toppings. I'd go again in a heart beat - it's well worth the cost, travel and time! We also got relatively lucky too, as it was a relatively slow day and we got the restaurant to ourselves. Maybe that would explain the wicked fast service and superb customer experience. However, something tells me they'd be equally as good during a busy season too! Tonight, DNM Hot Pot delivered the perfect atmosphere for me to catch up with a good buddy. Great work, DNM Hot Pot. We got the classic spicy and the tomato broth, then started going ham on the hot pot items. Definitely get some lamb, they seem to specialize in it. The classic spicy was some of the best hot pot broth I've had! So many peppercorns in it, which have an awesome tingly cooling effect. I loved the mushroom broth, I recommend that with adding some spice from the sauce bar to give an extra kick! While everything was good quality, I did think the meats were pricey (around $15 per portion) . I think DNM is a great option if you're craving hot pot but not hungry enough to make AYCE worth it. However if you are hungry, an AYCE would definitely be more worth it. read more

This was my first time at a Mongolian style hot pot restaurant. We ordered the half lamb spine soup and a non-spicy soup. I was initially scared by the lamb soup because it was SUPER spicy on first taste, but it's really just the layer of oil on top that's spicy. The lamb itself was flavorful but obviously mainly a lot of bones to pick through and not too much meat. The other ingredients we ordered were fresh and plentiful. I left feeling satisfied, warmed up, and most importantly, full. The main highlights for me about the experience were how flavorful the soups were, how big the pots were, and the pickled garlic at the sauce bar. After almost a two years (?) hiatus, DNM is back! DNM stands for The Greater Inner Mongolia. Their classic broth is one of our favorites. On this visit, we got the classic broth and a tomato broth along with alot of the hotpot goodness. This hotpot place is not an AYCE. But we still love it because their hotpot is so good! Especially love their make your own sauce station where you can build your ultimate dipping sauce! I also love that they have the tong hau (chrysanthemum greens) which some may find a bit strong in flavor but for some reason, I love it, especially with their classic broth. Banger of a hot pot place, my go-to restaurant used to be Happy Lamb near Union Square but sadly they've shut down. DNM focuses on the Mongolian aspects of hot pot and this is immediately evident the moment you walk through the door. Lots of distinctly Mongolian decorations on the wall, the hot pot bowl is encased in a cool ceramic wall thing with elegant designs, the tongs appear to resemble antlers, etc. Food itself was super good, we got half mushroom broth and half classic spicy broth. Despite looking a bit clearer than other hot pot broths, they were both deeply flavorful. Sauce bar is comprehensive - you know they know their stuff when they're bringing out the leek flower sauce and whatever the red fermented bean tofu sauce is called. All of the ingredients we ordered were high-quality and good quantity (always gotta be on the lookout for places that give you like 5 thin pieces of meat per order...). Sadly I did not have the chance to try out a lot of menu items like the baked lamb leg or the special mongolian lamb pot. Total came out to like 90 bucks for a very solid meal for two. The staff was super friendly, the waitress kept calling me handsome (like in that way that aunties call nephews/young men handsome it wasn't weird at all) and was super responsive and quick when I asked for anything. They offer 3 different specialty soups with lamb but for a half pot, that is already $35 and a full pot for $58. They also offer the basic pots for about $10 each. We chose the Inner Mongolian lamb pot which was full of flavor and marrow bones. After the soup, you can choose a variety of meats and veggies just like other hot pot places. However, their menu is very limited compared to other places in the city. And if you want unlimited sauce, it's $2.50 per person. We ordered 3 veggies, pork intestine, tripe, and 2 meats. The meats were really drying so I wasn't a big fan.The total came to be $120 without tip. If I were to come again, I probably will order the soup with a side of noodles.
