Happy to see that AYCE Korean BBQ has made it to Kent/Covington! FINALLY! The prices are fair when you compare AYCE restaurants across King and Pierce Counties. They're really not far from the median of a lot of the K-BBQ restaurants. We appreciate that this restaurant is AYCE but also has lunch specials for when you're not looking to stuff your tummy. The servers were all friendly and kind. The restaurant is clean. And - we have to add, their takeout containers and bags are gorgeous. Shows their attention to detail. The times we've gone, we've seen a good amount of tables filled with customers. We are so happy to see this part of Kent showing some love for Asian cuisine. Take it from someone who loves AYCE K-BBQ and has been consumer at many different restaurants - this one stacks up. A new AYCE Korean bbq in Kent! We had their AYCE lunch special (11am-3pm) which cost $28 each. They also have lunch specials and looked like they had pretty decent deals. I enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. It had plenty of decorations and it was nicely structured. Pretty cool and cute decorations throughout the store. There are a decent amount of seatings. The service here was good. Workers were pretty nice and everything came in a timely manner. For the AYCE, you can order 4 meats and 2 appetizers at a time. There were a good amount of food portioning each time it came which was pretty nice. Now the meat... Honestly, most of them weren't so great. We got their pork belly, beef brisket, and thinly sliced pork belly and there wasn't too much flavor in them. The beef bulgogi didnt have its usually rich, tasty flavor. But I actually enjoyed their L7 (BBQ sliced beef belly) and L12 (fresh herb sliced pork belly). It was actually tasty. The Topokki was great too. Finally a new AYCE kbbq spot! The restaurant was located in the middle of the plaza of stores and there is ample parking. Scan the QR code for a menu or ask staff for a physical copy. And you can select the level of AYCE which determines the selection of both meats and appetizers. The restaurant easily accommodated our party of 20. We went with the premium selection and got to choose 4 servings of meat and 2 types of appetizers at a time. I judge kbbq spots on their beef brisket and pork belly and DoSi definitely delivered! The meat was fresh and so delicious. Also got the soju tower which was so fun. The servers switched out grills quite often making sure the meats didn't have burnt spots. They also were very thoughtful and asked quite often if we needed any more banchans (side dishes) free of charge. The restaurant was decorated with Korean culture art and there are sports, Korean channels, and music videos playing on the TVs. Definitely will be back. read more

It felt like we were getting brushed off and kind of ignored. We didn't get checked on as much as other tables and had to wait a little for them to take our order. Was here last month with my second family. We were celebrating a birthday and took over 4 tables. Services was good. Food was pretty goood. We ordered a meat combo w/ shrimp and spicy squid, two kinds of wings, and corn cheese with kimchee jjigae. I thought the meat selection was nice and fairly good in cut and taste. It's usually busy which I don't mind at all (that just means the place is good, yeah?!) they have a wait list you can put your name and number and then you can wonder off around the stores, they'll text you an ETA and will update what number you are on their waitlist, I found this to be super convenient. They covered the grill, transforming it into a regular table, which was a nice touch. With the entrees, they served banchan, which were especially delicious here. We did the all you can eat option and got brisket, pork belly, gochujang brisket, kalbi, etc. as well as the side dishes corn cheese and Tteokbokki. Food: 4/5 very solid, every meat we got was pretty good. My favorite was gochujang brisket which had more of an umami taste paired w the thinly sliced brisket. Explained I drove 37mins from Alki location. Said I was talking to a co worker over 3 times coming to the establishment. When I got there it was told we had to wait another 30 mins. I asked was there a way to accommodate due to a prior 1hr n 30 min wait at Alki location. He said no and there is 7 parties in front of me not knowing I just had someone ask at the front and it was told 4 parties was ahead. Felt like he profiled me due to my appearance. New Bbq place to us anyway on the other side of town. Came in at 4:00pm and were seated, asked if we wanted the AYCE BBQ or off the me. You scan the menu on the table. We opted for the $39 bbq option. Our server was very friendly and the. She disappeared. I think we came towards the end of her shift, so we now being served by committee. The meat refills came out quickly and they had some pretty tasty options not only in meats, but also in their banchan. Another great thing is they constantly changed out the grate so our food would not burn. The downside I asked for a couple of the meats to be spicy, they came to the table not marinated but with sriracha drizzled over the top. The brisket had zero flavor as did the spicy meat options. For my first visit the staff was quick and consistent. Only thing is it's not one server per table and so I would get asked the same question multiple times by a couple different people. One person brought the check when I hadn't yet ordered my cocktail as my desert choice. But the other server caught it and fixed it swiftly. I liked seeing the teamwork between the staff. New place that replaced the old XO hot pot. Today was their grand opening and it was a little bit hectic but we overlooked that. Unfortunately the whole experience was really disappointing for 4 of us. The banchan dishes taste like packages you buy from a supermarket, the bad ones though. For the meat, the thin sliced beef was so chewy and the ribs don't really have any marble taste in there. There wasn't any butter or fat to grease the gril. Came here for Saturday dinner. Logistics- Part of a larger strip mall, lots of parking. There was a tablet to sign in for the wait list but it was off likely since it wasn't too busy that they needed it. Ambiance- Since it's newer, place is very clean. K-pop music is playing with several tv screens to watch from. Cool, colorful wall decor. Food Service- For the most part, it was good. Most of the people were friendly and nice. There was just one that came across as to not having a good day so it threw off the experience. They provide water bottles for drinks. Just be sure to speak up if need want anything like more side dishes or grill to be changed. Food- Ordered seafood pancake, stir-fried squid, brisket, and pork belly. SEAFOOD PANCAKE $16 - for the price, little smaller than other places. Had a slight crisp to it and dipping sauce was good and had chunks of shrimp. STIR-FRIED SQUID $24 - again portion smaller than most places and not much other veggies mixed in it so it was ok. At least it wasn't some places where you feel like you had to hunt for the squid and tasted good. THINLY SLICED BRISKET $34 - great portion and one of the better qualities I've seen served a KBBQ places. PORK BELLY $31 - came with 7 slices. Not quite thin but not quite thick either. Preferred thicker cuts so you can stand up and sear skin first before grilling the sides. Otherwise, average. BANCHAN (side dishes). There were 7 types as you'll see in my pic. One that Iooks like radish kimchi was actually potato which was a good; not mushy and had a nice texture to it. Fish cake was decent but needed more flavor so dipped in the sauce of our squid dish; definitely elevated after that. Kimchi was more on the fermented side so it really depends on your preference. The others are slicked pickled radish, seasoned broccoli, cucumbers, and bean sprouts. Try grilling the bean sprouts and dipping it in the stir-fried squid sauce and eating that with pork belly...such a delicious combo. They have ssamjang (soy bean paste) but you need to ask for it. Really wished they had garlic and lettuce leaves but they serve a salad with the bbq. If you're not sure what to order, the MIXED COMBO looks to be the way to go. End of the meal, they offered free ice cream: strawberry, vanilla, or mint chocolate chip. Nice surprise. All in all, a nice addition to the Kent area! read more

Food/meat was okay, service was a little lacking with a touch of bizarre. It's a new business, so I'm gonna try to give Do Si the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully they'll get it together in a couple weeks and take this and other reviews as training opportunities for their staff and management. Firstly, the bizarre part. We were waiting for a while to put our order in, but one of the servers dropped off rice without saying anything and sped away. We eventually got our order in. For a Friday night, they were pretty understaffed. At multiple points of the meal, there would only be one server on the floor. I only noticed because we were not checked on enough. We had to ask for a grill change, something I've never experienced before, as other KBBQ spots anticipate the timing of grill changes and banchan refills. The meat was okay. We ordered a small beef combo, pork belly, and corn cheese. Personally, the pork belly was not very flavorful. Though we cooked it to a point where it had crispy bits, yet still juicy, it left me wanting. I'd say the best cuts we had were the ribeye and thin beef brisket. Kalbi was a little too sweet for my taste, intestines weren't anything special, and corn cheese was standard. We did have one of the managers stop by, which was appreciated. He asked our opinion on the flavor and if he could get us anything. I respectfully gave him my honest opinion, which he seemed to disagree with, but he came back with some more banchan and sliced garlic that we requested and we never saw him again. All in all, this place was fine. Taste and preference is all subjective and Do Si will do well enough, so long as no other KBBQ restaurants come to the area. Friendly atmosphere as soon as we walk in we were greeted, we had a reservation because we drive almost 4 hours to this place (which is soooo worth it!) took less than 5 mins to be seated. The servers are always so friendly and amazing always asking if we need anything and it doesn't feel rushed even when you're on a 90min clock for the AYCE. All you can eat bbq has returned! I'm not sure since when, because the last time we visited (many months ago) it was removed so that was cool to experience this time. The portions aren't too big, so we found ourselves able to try a lot of the meats on the menu, however the sides were so delicious. The cucumber and kimchi hit the spot, as did the cheese corn. My toddler also enjoyed the chicken, rice, garlic fries, and bulgogi with us - the fries weren't what I expected it was more like fries with a sauce and not much garlic flavor though. But the service was good. Our server was attentive enough and when not we'd ask him for something and he'd do it right away so that was great, so we got to enjoy our meal. As always, they had K-pop playing in the background and on the screens and though it was busy, we were seated like within 5 minutes or so. Very good KBBQ in Kent. My sister and I were craving KBBQ and this restaurant popped up on an Instagram post, so we decided to try. I made a reservation this morning through Yelp app, super simple. Upon arriving there was no wait at 6:30 but as soon as I entered about 4 other parties showed up so good thing I had a reservation. Service was excellent, waiter came around numerous times to check on us, additional servers replaced the hot plates quickly, very attentive overall. There 3 of us and we had 3 rounds of meat. You can pick 2 apps and 4 meats per round and you get 90 minutes to eat. The appetizers were enjoyable, the Cheese Corn was my favorite, we also tried 2 wings, dumplings and Japchea. There were many sides to accompany the meal. We went with the Premium AYCE ($39) they also have a Supreme AYCE ($49). The Premium has 28 meats while the Supreme has 32. My favorite meats were the Beef Bulgogi and LA Galbi, both very flavorful and tasty. The regular pork belly was a let down, kind of a bland taste. The service is brisk and they check on you. The prices are high yet the servings are huge. I like the feel of the atmosphere. Really does remind me of being in Korea. As I said the food is plentiful. I had the Lunch beef bulgogi and it was too much for one person and priced at $17 it seems a bit high for lunch in this strip mall by Trader Joe's. They give you a huge assortment of condiments.
