Spectacular!!! Service is great, the wine menu is unique, inventive, daring and not filled with CrappaNappa wines. This is the second time I've eaten here and everything has been fabulous. Steak frites, Lobster Roll, Number 6 Chicken, Sweet Potato Fries and Kale Salad are all hits. There are easily a dozen more things I want to try. The lobster roll has several layers of flavor that subtlety hit you like a great wine. The lobster is in nice-sized chunks, the kale is great, the acid balance is a perfect complement to the sweetness of the roll, but the real surprise is the peanuts. Checked out this spot last night and it was delightful. Portions were large and left me stuffed. Bold flavor on the sweet and spicy Thai wok bowl with chicken and quinoa and the Shrimp app was delicious. Perfect grill on the jumbo shrimp. The setting was nice each table with a candle and low lighting made for a great location to enjoy the company of someone special. It was only open 3 days so hard to judge service Bc they had staff everywhere. Everyone so nice. The menu not huge but Versatile enough. It's awesome to sit on a patio in the middle of the city. This area has come a long way. We had the homemade guacamole w homemade sweet potato chips and it was delicious. I could have eaten either item alone. We both ordered different wok bowls. I've been to this restaurant twice in the last two weeks and both times there has been a significant issue. On the first visit, I relayed a food allergy to the server who assured me that my entree selection was safe. It wasn't until the food for the rest of my party arrived that someone informed me that the dish I chose did, in fact, contain the allergen. While they ultimately comp'd my meal, it shouldn't have taken that long to identify the issue. Thinking this was just a fluke issue, I went back today. First, they only brought 3 of the 4 meals. Then, they ended up bringing my guest the wrong food (they didn't identify the dishes when they were serving them nor did they know who ordered which dish). When we corrected them, they brought the correct meal, but then insisted on charging us for their mistake. While the food is good, in this case, it's 2 strikes and you're out. read more

We were celebrating my birthday weekend, took a lot of patience just not getting up and leaving but, we made reservations 3 weeks in advance for a party 18, 12 made it to dinner. From the get go service was bad. Once seated at 6:30pm, it took 15 minutes for the first server to arrive. I informed him that since we are in pairs/couples that each couple will be on separate bills, he replied that since it would take longer for him to finalize the bills that he would put it on one bill and we can separate it ourselves, what? Do your job for you? Ordered our first drinks at our table of 4. Flagged down another server and complained about the one bill situation who has been there a couple of years and she took over our party. Next for 20 minutes we waited for drinks, now we have been here 30 minutes no cocktails yet and no waters at all at the table. So my daughter, husband and I ordered our first drink directly at the bar, came back to table and found out they only brought 4 glasses of water. Now we are complaining, talked to the supervisor in a black suit, he apologized and said they are understaffed. We made this reservation 3 weeks ago and they should have been aware, poor planning by management. He tried to help, waters we're finally served to all, mind you it's been well over an hour. Drinks started to come out, but here we go they did not bring me and my partners drink they confused our initial drink order with ones that my daughter bought for us, our drinks we got when we went up to the bar! Approaching second hour food orders taken, still no appetizers the 3 orders of wings for the group. Moving on, well into second hour wings show up, 2 orders of cosmopolitan martinis arrived it was white no Cranberry! Food came out of course it's find Waldo time sheesh. Finally got my food, right steak, wrong fries. Gotta give our party patience award for the year we finally finished at 9 pm! Heck of a lot more better places in DFW that are way better than this poorly managed, high priced, subpar service of an eatery. Went here for dinner. A little difficult to get parking but that's downtown Dallas for you. We got the lump crab jumbo stack and I loved it. Good portion for the price. There was a good amount of crab meat that was very tasty. A refreshing dish and a good starter. We also had the chicken parmesan and that was very good as well. Service was good. read more

This is a go-to spot for lunch in uptown. Everything on the menu is fantastic - their knife & fork Cobb is a staple to die for. Our service every time has been great, and the food & drinks and quick to come out and delicious. We have ordered a couple times for delivery as well, and although the food typically cools by the time it's delivered (must be by 3rd party delivery service), once quickly heated up is still impeccable. read more

What a warm & welcoming environment. I walked in on a Wednesday evening around 8:45pm, a pretty full dining room and a few seats left at the bar. First of all.....the bar does complimentary candied bacon after happy hour ()!!!!!! I did the "Natural" cocktail with vodka instead of Rum and it was delightful. Wanted to try the trendy corner restaurant with the awesome patio seating with the yellow shades. The ambiance and interior was clean with cool vibes. Then service was good. Cocktails was good. I was so impressed with the Austin location and talking to the manager down there she told my party that a new location was coming in Dallas. She raved about the staff, the food item solely for the Dallas location and the awesome patio. I had it in my mind to make sure I checked it out. Everything we had was amazing, the staff was great and they were accommodating at every turn. That wasn't the case last Sunday. I wondered is this the way Black History Month is going to start for me. The food wasn't as fabulous, there was no vibe, and it left a lot to be desired. It was the Front Hostess Staff and Manager that made me feel unappreciated, un-welcomed, and continuous look of distain on their faces. As I gave my car to the valet because the restaurant is in a location of mostly office buildings I drove around and that was my only option. There was a Del Frisco's at the end of the corner but I assumed comp'd. I'm walking to the door as who I now know to be the manager is opening the door to place a wedge to keep the inner door open was easy access. We exchange glances, I smile, but she doesn't as she retreats back in. The hostess area is small so as soon as I follow her in there's two ladies in black (Typical Hostess regalia) on is young lady is looking at me and the other with her back turned. She turns to greet me with only elevator eyes as I smile "Hello" to them. We go on like this for 4 beats until one says, "Can I help you?" That strikes me funny. Can you help me? Am I not in a restaurant? Have you stop serving food? Why else would I be here? Nothing along the lines of would you like to dine inside or outside. The question was more in the tone of, "You must be lost. How can I help you on your way from this establishment?" My response was, "Can I eat? I came here to eat. Is that okay?" She nervously responded, "Oh, yes. Sure you can. Do you have a reservation?" Doc B.'s opens at 11:00am on Sunday and its 1:00pm. In a flash I looked around and could count the number of people in the whole restaurant. I politely responded, "Why, yes I do have a reservation at 1:15pm?" Why did they look puzzled? They didn't expect that and I wondered if they wanted to respond with we're all booked; sorry. The manager took an extensive look at their reservations and then table selections, "Let's see. Let's put Angi here." The hostess took be on the Green Mile past empty booths and tables to where; the back of the restaurant one step into the kitchen. I asked, "So, I have to be in the back, in kitchen area?" She happily replied, "Oh that means you can probably get your food faster!" Nope. I do not want to sit here. It meant nothing to her at all that I was upset with the choice I was given, "Let me ask my manager if I can move you up?" This empty place and you need permission to satisfy a customer. She did and I ended up in the front by a crowded table as I waited for my brunch guest. After the room might as well go and cook my own meal exchange I would have left. I was trying to not think about this early exchange and have a pleasant meal. My waitress was amazing. The food again was mediocre and I'm sure it was the bad taste in my mouth of how I was treated. Like I didn't belong, as if I wasn't about to spend my hard earned money in an establishment. It's the small micro aggressions that have you ready to fight, so I'll battle you with my words. As I post this to every platform that I have being a food blogger, and called upon for new an upcoming restaurants to explore. Doc B's. isn't the place you want to go? I can't guarantee you will feel welcome. Since I'm on their rewards program I also gave my experience a low rating and I plan on sending them a copy. I know it is custom to have you come back but I'm never going back to the scene of the crime. I should have walked out and waited for my friend to go somewhere else. That was my mistake. I had the audacity to believe my money was green and I could be treated equally. Maybe it was my Afro that bothered them or me not accepting what they gave me? As I talked to co-workers and friends they knew how the story was going to unfold before I could tell them. You're not welcome. I felt it, and I accept it because there's too many places in Dallas to eat. I can take my business elsewhere. My boyfriend and I came here for brunch to start off our Saturday. Our bartender, Vi, was super delightful and knowledgeable! I didn't see my favorite brunch drink, Michelada, on the menu; but Vi came to the rescue and concocted the perfect Michelada. Doc B's make their own Bloody Mary mix and I could taste how fresh it is! The best Bloody Mary mix I've ever had! It's a great balance of spicy and sweet. Vi suggested a whiskey-base cocktail called The Dangler to my boyfriend. He doesn't usually enjoy cocktails, but he couldn't help but fall in love with it. As he would like to describe it, it's "a divine blend of root vegetable with a hint of sweetness perfectly suited for whiskey drinkers." We started off with the Oven Roasted Chicken Wings and it was the best decision we made. It was refreshing and different. The chimichurri and parmigiana reggiano complimented the wings so well, we killed it in five minutes! We were impressed that they gave us oshibori (wet hand towels) to wipe our hands with. For my brunch dish, I decided to go with Lox and Bagel. It's beautifully plated and I enjoyed every single bite. I'm also going to mention that I took the other half as a leftover and it was still amazing after a couple of hours! For dessert, we got salted caramel gelato in an oatmeal raisin cookies sandwich. What a great combination! I would definitely come back here again. Not only our bartender, Vi, gave superb service; the bar manager, Ben, was accommodating and great to talk to! Service was good. I had the oven roasted wings. The flavor!!! I could eat the topping by itself. There is a place in Camden, AR called The Sandbar that serves the best pork chop I have ever had. When I saw on the menu that they offered a brined pork chop I was excited to try it. It was juicy and the char on the outside was like the Sandbar's. That is where the similarities stop. This pork chop is salty-I mean really salty. I had roasted Brussel sprouts on the side and they were good. We ordered the chocolate cake for dessert. Probably one of the worst cakes I have ever had. Dry, little icing- what was there reminded me of the cheap chocolate syrup to make milk shakes. It wasn't a bad meal, but probably won't be back. read more

Good but not great. The music was a little loud, and a little heavy on the EDM for a morning brunch. Service could best be described as "perfunctory." One server came and asked me if I wanted to order another Aperol Spritz, and when I said 'no thank you," he tried to abscond with my only-3/4-finished drink. The floor by my table was dangerously slippery. And the place was HOT. And not in a good way. When we asked a server about it, she admitted that the temperature inside was "in the 80's" before informing us that it was not helping her "get over her cold." Which was just what I wanted to hear. But the food was not too bad, and the prices somewhat more reasonable than the average McKinney Ave. fare. Met up with a friend at this very cute restaurant on a Friday and was very impressed. Let me first say the parking garage is right next to the building so sis wear your heels and feel cute lol! You have the option to valet your car but save yourself some change and self park for just $5 when you get your ticket acknowledged by the hostess. I walked in to a small crowd at 4pm and was in love with the huge windows and lighting in this place. They have a nice patio and I would definitely return in warmer times for an outside brunch. The conversation was flowing on this particular afternoon and I almost cried when they brought out the chicken wing mountain as our appetizer! Giiiiirl they know me soo well! Loved the added touch of the mountain and the fact they included moist wash rags to clean our fingers. I wish I knew the name of our waiter because she was incredible. She definitely set the mood that night and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. I of course a basic Betty got the original cheeseburger (yess it comes with fries) and my date opted for the Wok Out Bowl. How clever! The bowl came out sizzling with his brown friend rice and veggies and I had to make a mental note to chose this item on my next visit. Nothing negative to say about this place. I came here with a couple girlfriends for brunch. I ordered the quinoa bowl, added sausage. It was so flavorful and huge portion. My friends had the avocado toast and the other had 'the pancake', which is the size of the entire pan and thick too. The coffee was fresh.. you could tell it was French pressed specifically for our order versus sitting on a hot plate for hours. The vibe of the restaurant is also pleasant. There aren't tons of obnoxious drunk people out for brunch, the music is nice and you can actually hear the people you're with and the location is great with a cool patio. It's worth checking out!
