I would probably go for tacos every time when I go here. The only thing is it is a small place and there is NO WAITING AREA. I tried to call ahead of time and wrote my name down, but apparently the wait doesn't begin until you come so there's no point. Plus, you're basically waiting outside next to their storage unit. One of my managers brought me here for lunch for the first time and I must say I was very pleased with this place. I'd heard about it and never had the opportunity to go, but I will make many more opportunities to go for so many reasons! The place is a cute little Mexican restaurant not too far from work! We were greeted immediately but a smiling server and seated. Our server came and greeted us quickly and she was great! She took our order and lunch came out promptly. The food was fresh and hot and light! I had the pescado tacos and they were delightful! The presentation for all the meals was spot on and I wish I could've had a margarita because those looked amazing! As we completed our meals,our server cleaned dirty dishes off the table promptly which was great, because I hate sitting with dirty dishes on the table. Aside from their very weird entrance that doesn't look like an entrance, everything was pretty solid. I always ask to be seated on their patio when it's a weather permitting evening. Great view & perfect place to people watch all of the bar hoppers across the street. Their menu is very similar to any other Tex-Mex restaurant. I have to be honest & say that their chips & salsa were a LOT on the bland side. How can ALL THREE salsas have very little flavor? Not one single salsa was spicy. Their chips were no better, a little too thick for my liking. My favorite is their Cremaqueso Chicken Enchiladas, always yummy. If you have any tummy room left, try their Cinco Leches Cake. The noise factor is off the scales in this restaurant. Whatever you do, don't let them seat you in the back room with the low ceilings. We were seated next to a large table. Omg this place is amazing! I definitely think it is the perfect place to go to if the weather is great. We were confused at frist about how to enter the restaurant. It is almost like there isn't a host stand. We walked through the middle of the patio and immediately was greeted by a waitor. Let me say..... Wow!! The entire meal I had was delicious. Mr.Mesero has great food. The chips and salsa comes with your meal and they're good, the chips were super salty. I ordered the mole enchiladas and they were great but the mole sauce had this bitter taste which wasn't very appetizing. As soon as my family and I walked in we were warmly greeted by what looked like was the chef. All of the employees were very pleasant and made us feel welcome. I had my 2 year old daughter with me and they were very nice and accommodating to her. The meal was excellent! Everything from the taste to the presentation was spot on. Shame on you, you denied entry to my boyfriend, myself, and my service dog. My 60 pound goldendoodle makes sure I don't have anxiety/panic attacks and helps relieve my manic depression. He goes everywhere with me. Not one establishment in Dallas as denied him. This dog is not a pet, he is a part of me. My dog can fly for free with a special seat to make sure he's able to comfort me, but can't sit on your patio? My boyfriend went through the restaurant and I walked around to the patio to make sure I didn't disturb anyone with my dog. We met at the patio where the waiter tells us that we can't be there. I replied, "Even tho he's a service dog?" He says "I'll ask the manager." The waiter comes back and the manager said no. How embarrassing for us to be standing there while you tell us we can't eat there on the patio. Good thing I had my dog with me so I didn't have a social anxiety attack from you blatant discrimination. My dog is a big dog, but he is very, very well behaved and has an appropriate service dog vest on. I will make sure everyone in Dallas knows of your discrimination. I also emailed you, left this review, and wrote on your Facebook. In my email I included my letter from my psychiatrist saying my dog is prescrbied to me to alleviate extreme daily anxiety/bipolar/depression. I also included the page of ADA rules saying it's illegal for you to discriminate my dog. I've always had pleasant visits here! My coworker introduced me to this place and really liked the food. This is is somehow elegant yet kind of laid back, it's cute, especially the outdoor space. We always get the brisket nachos as an appetizer and they are soo good. Their brisket is so tasty and soft goes perfect with the black beans and the cheese. It comes with some sort of coleslaw that's also really good, must try. For my entre I now just get their shrimp ceviche... one of my favorites. They have a large parking lot. I had the grilled fish tacos for takeout. All I can say is yum. The free chips and salsa were good, but the sauce was pretty spicy. The mole was on the sweeter side, giving it a Poblano aura which was quite welcome. The shrimp tacos came fully loaded with cabbage and grilled onions. They were delicious. The only down side to this restaurant is that it is slightly overpriced. The competition is tough around the Knox area and Uptown and you can find better value. Such a great and cute restaurant! We came here on a Friday evening with a small group of friends. Parking in the area is definitely hit or miss, though we got lucky and found some street parking just a block over. We walked in and had about a 30 min wait before we could be seated. They don't take reservations, so suggest you come early and grab drinks at the bar like us. I ordered the spicy margarita - which was perfect for the warm weather outside. Once seated we ordered ceviche and the queso. Both were really good in flavor and the shrimp was very very fresh!! For dinner I ordered the carne asada and pollo taco. It's 2 per order, but you can mix and match. I thought the portions were great, but if you are starved on food, you might want to consider an app and entree. Well, apparently Yelp believes that I didn't finish this review from some time ago and I apologize. Sadly, my memory has faded on when and where, but I had already given it five stars and I do know that there is never a visit to Dallas without a visit to Mr Mesero. Everything they make is well thought out and blends perfectly with the rest of the plate. I particularly like their Cole slaw which they may call something else. Spicy and light and give a little crunch to the rest of the dish. They will bring some different salsas to the table if you ask. I really like things spicy and their combinations of salsas keep your mouth watering and wanting more. Typically we have been offered a spoon full of their tres leches dessert after we finish the meal and for me, that is always just enough. I highly recommend Mr Mesero, you won't be disappointed. read more

Unfortunately this place game us food poisoning. Chips were stale, they also serve them in the smallest cup possible it's almost laughable. The food came out at different times. Cold coffee, there was a lot of staff but no service at all. The place tries to come off as an upscale Mexican restaurant- but the food is terrible. And we got sick.
