We went here for dinner on a Saturday night after an event at the kid's school in West Dallas. We had been here several times before and always enjoyed the food. My "top shelf" margarita was very tasty and they made it straight up the way I requested. The wife ordered prosecco but she thinks it was not actual prosecco. But it was good. The food was very good as usual. I really liked my brisket tacos. The meat was tender and the tacos included sautéed onions and peppers. The consume was good but I could have used more consume in a larger container since it was hard to dip a big taco into a small container. The wife really liked her street tacos. The order was generous at 5 tacos. The fajita beef was smoky and cut into very small pieces which made it very easy to chew. She liked the corn tortillas. So, no problems with the food. Our service from Alejandro was also very good. He was efficient and everything came out the way we requested. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is the bizarre experience we had getting a table. We arrived about 6:15-6:20. I asked the hostess for a table for 3 and she asked if we had reservations. I said no and she answered no problem. At that time, we were the only ones in the foyer. At 6:30 a large group came and said "we have a reservation" and were promptly seated. They were the only people to enter the restaurant as we waited. That gave me the idea, maybe I should make a reservation, so I went to a popular restaurant reservation app that I will not name and found the restaurant. I asked the hostess if it would helpful if I made a reservation since there was an opening for 6:45. She said no, just give me 5 minutes. So we waited more and nothing was happening. At 6:35 I went ahead and made a reservation for 6:45 and informed the host and hostess of this fact. At 6:43 the hostess said she had a table. With nearly a 30 minute wait I had envisioned a full restaurant and assumed all the tables were occupied. As we entered the main dining room, we were shocked to see 5-6 tables empty, maybe more, I just looked quickly and did not an exact count. But the point is that our wait problem was not a table supply problem. After we were seated, Alejandro appeared immediately so I don't think our wait was a waiter supply problem. I do not understand why we had to wait so long when tables were available and no other people were entering the restaurant. It gets even stranger. The hostess seated us at a table that was directly in line with AC blowing on the table which the wife and kid do not like. The wife asked if we could sit along the wall. The waitress said no because that table was for four people, but she had seated us at a table for four so that made no sense. Then she said that along the wall was reserved for people with reservations, and we reminded her that we had a reservation. She then said she needed "permission" to seat us there so she disappeared. Eventually, she came back and said it was ok. The whole episode was very strange. The seating drama is the reason for 4 stars. read more

I was at Texano Cocina on Lemmon Ave for lunch on Cinco de Mayo sitting at the bar with a friend, and the experience was completely unacceptable. There was one barstool in the corner next to me with very little space, and the manager Carl came over and rudely snatched my belongings off the stool and started throwing them onto the bar without saying a word. When I asked him what he was doing, his response was, "I need this seat, it's Cinco de Mayo, we're going to be crowded today." Meanwhile there were other open seats down the bar. I asked why he felt the need to put his hands on my things instead of simply speaking to me respectfully like a professional manager should. He walked off with an attitude and never apologized. I usually let things go, but I'm not going to tolerate nasty, unprofessional behavior from management. Customer service clearly is not a priority there. Between the rude treatment and the mediocre food, I definitely won't be returning. This place has changed names and managers several times, and after this experience I can see why. BEYOND BIZARRE! Okay...walked in at 1:50 pm. First time trying but drive by frequently so figured we would give it a shot. BIG MISTAKE. Was seated by hostess who physically handed us a Menu and Happy Hour menu at 1:53pm. We ordered nachos off the Happy Hour menu prior to ordering Fajitas for the meal. Waitress immediately circled back and said we couldn't order the nachos because they were on the Happy Hour menu that stated at 2pm. We asked why we were given the menu if you weren't able to order from it. THEN pointed out it was 1:55pm. She went and got the manager who showed up at 1:56 who told us that they didn't have a button to override the timing and since we got there before 2 we couldn't order off that menu. I asked her why the hostess gave us the menu and she said she was new and was still learning. I asked why not just wait what was now 4 minutes to enter it and the manager repeated we couldn't order off the menu because we arrived before 2pm. Enough of the shenanigans! I wondered why there were only 2 other tables eating in the restaurant when walking in. Never a great sign. We left and went to a packed Mia's that was on point as always. And guess what??? This was a hidden surprise near Dallas Love Field Airport. Staff are super friendly, good atmosphere and great range of food and drinks. I couldn't decide on what I wanted, so I got the sampler plate under the appetizer part of the menu and it was all very tasty. Also had their coconut frozen margaritas and that was equally as good. Fresh out of the gym and running on fumes, I needed two things: a solid meal and a place to watch my Cowboys. Saw the high reviews and thought, "Alright, let's see what the hype's about." Stopped in for lunch at Texano Cosina and I'm really glad I did. It's conveniently located in a strip mall just a few minutes from Love Field Airport, and parking was easy--even with a full-size SUV. I was greeted warmly at the hostess stand and seated right away. The décor was tasteful and comfortable. Chips and salsa arrived almost immediately--the chips were thin, crisp, and perfectly salted, and the salsa was outstanding with a great balance of tomato, herbs, citrus, and salt. My server, Daniela, was fantastic. She was friendly, took the time to learn my name, offered great recommendations, and checked on me throughout the meal to make sure I never needed anything. I started with Rajas con Crema, which was absolutely delicious--poblano peppers, onion, corn, and crema, perfectly seasoned. I chose the flour tortillas, and they were exceptional--warm, buttery, and easily some of the best I've had. I even used the rajas to top my fajita tacos later. For my main dish, I ordered the lunch fajitas and was surprised by how generous the portion was. I swapped cheese for sour cream and upgraded to charro beans (there's a $2 upcharge). The guacamole was very good, the pico de gallo had a bit more heat than I'm used to but was still enjoyable, and the meat was tender and well-seasoned. While not the best fajitas I've ever had, they were solid and something I'd definitely order again. The only downside was the wait time for the food--it took a bit longer than expected for lunch, though it was clearly made fresh. Overall, Texano Cosina is absolutely worth checking out if you're in this part of Dallas. Prices are reasonable, the food is above average, and the service--especially from Daniela--was excellent. read more

We decided to give Texano a try--formerly known as Eddie's--and honestly, not much has changed besides the name. The decor, most of the menu, even some of the staff seem mostly the same. I had only been to this Eddie's location a couple of times in the past (more familiar with the Greenville spot), but thought we'd check it out again. Once again, the place was nearly empty, which should've been a clue. Our server was kind and attentive, which we appreciated, but the food took a little longer than expected considering there were maybe two or three other tables. The real issue came when the bill arrived. My tacos al carbon were listed at $18 on the menu--but showed up as $20 on the check. Definitely not worth the money. Same thing happened with a friend's meal--an unexplained $2 markup. We didn't order any upgrades or extras. It feels a little sketchy, and not something you expect (or appreciate) when you're already paying higher-end Tex-Mex prices in a nearly empty restaurant. The margaritas weren't strong enough for us to not notice that. It just wasn't a great experience overall, and with so many fantastic options nearby, we won't be back. One and done. Sorry not sorry. I hve been going here once a week. I have several items and all are good. The beef fajitas were tender and grilled chili releno is fantastic. I went there this past Sunday and literly fell for the place (I am handica) I usually go in a wheelchair. Sunday I walked in with a cane. On the way out my leg gave out and I fell taking out Christma decorations. I will be back on Wednesday, I hope they will let me back in. The food is good and serviice is great. read more
