    Spanish Style Enchiladas

This is a pretty decent restaurant. The ambiance is slightly elevated and dimly lit for either a nice date or just dinner with family and friends. The service was great, the they were quick and efficient which made the food come out hot. The prices here are also reasonable. $5-$15 for drinks and $15-$30 for entrees. I don't have anything to complain about, but this is your typical Mexican style restaurant. Nothing really blew me away, but I enjoyed eating there. Most likely I wouldn't go out of my way to return but would gladly go if someone wanted to try it out.

I love the interior of this restaurant! Nice, dim lighting with an upscale casual vibe. The bar in the middle is great too. The servers are always prompt and friendly. The food is delicious - I love their crispy tacos with pulled chicken! Their verde enchiladas and steak fajitas are also 10/10. It's hard not to get a margarita on top of it all... they're delicious and there's plenty of different options!

I saw a TikTok of a lady saying her favorite item from here was the Spicy Chicken Verde, so I had to try it. The sauce was on the salty side for me, but I am usually sensitive to salt so others may like it. I added a side of grilled vegetables, which I asked the waiter if they came seasoned or with garlic butter & he said that they did however I didn't detect either. I'd like to go back to try the chicken & shrimp fajitas. My mango strawberry margarita was good.

The only thing that keeps me from eating here more often is our mutual geographic location - I live in Round Rock, and this place is a destination away. I've been a loyal fan for decades of Mariano's Hacienda at Skillman/Abrams in Dallas, and this is their sister "ranch" concept that has more space (and fireplaces) but the same flavors of the original concept. The margaritas, roasted salsa, and brisket tacos are my favorites!

Consistently fantastic! I don't have much else to say. The service is fast, the food is fresh, and the drinks are strong! Father's Day at Mariano's is always a good idea.

I have to say, this place was absolutely super fantastic for a girlfriends get together. Excellent service and extremely wonderful people. Oh...and the FOOD...TDF! There were 5 of us and we shared the queso and guacamole to start...now, many readers of my write ups know that I am a super picky (fill-on-the-blank)! Both were excellent! Then, after both appies we shared 2 orders of chicken and steak fajitas. HOLY COW the steak was ridiculously tender, tasty and cooked so well. Thank you, to this lovely family and establishment...support this local GEM!

A staple in the Dallas area. The food is top notch, everything made to order, service is always quick and attentive. Def one of my go tos when I can't make up my mind. Casual dining or a great first date spot.

First time there and it was so good! They sat us on the patio and I was afraid it would be warm, but it's enclosed and quite pleasant! We had the queso and beef fajitas for 2. Omg it was all amazing! The beef fajitas are skirt steak but I'm not sure what they do it is SO tender! It was a lot of food, we had leftovers! Our service was also great! Check it out I will be back!

First off the staff was very friendly even though there were 30+ ppl waiting for a table. They kept composure and did the best they could as it was a Friday night Father's Day weekend. The food was great. I enjoyed the brisket tacos & green chicken enchiladas. Eye catching decor Cooks need a raise!

Mariano's is famous for inventing the frozen margarita, which seems like such an obvious thing that I'm surprised it didn't just always exist. But someone had to invent it, and that someone is Mariano Martinez. Of course, the margaritas are good, but so is every margarita everywhere. What makes this place amazing is the mesquite smoked everything. Texas BBQ flavor in Tex-Mex recipes is a combination that once you've had it, you wonder how on Earth did you ever live without it. And then you go back to Mariano's for another round.

    Poblano plate - very nice
    David D.

The food was exceptional- from the chips and salsa to the delicious dessert (flan). The ambiance was pleasant - a family place in which one can still converse comfortably. The Poblano stuffed with cheese and beef was SO good and the surf and turf was better than most! The margaritas here are also amazing

I'm not sure why my pictures aren't posting, but I'm trying this again. The food was very delicious. The ambience gave me a traditional type of Mexican food which I really loved. They offer fresh flour tortillas and the margaritas were delicious. I definitely recommend to check it out if ever in the area.

Ask the Community - Mariano's Hacienda Ranch

    Is there patio seating?

It's a patio, but it's totally enclosed with no ventilation to the air outside. So if you're looking for outdoor dining, this does not fit the definition.

Can we bring our dog along?

I have never seen a dog inside. You should call to verify their policy but from my view they do not allow dogs inside.

Since the weather has been so nice lately, outdoor seating is super popular, so I'd recommend making a reservation if you can. Even though we didn't have one, they were still able to accommodate our group which we really appreciated. The service was amazing...everyone was so polite, attentive, and fast. The drinks were delicious and the food came out surprisingly quickly as well. They also offer valet, but if it's packed, there's parking across the street too which was convenient. Highly recommend for a nice lunch or dinner during the weekend. We'll definitely be coming back again!

The location is super cute and always packed. You definitely need a reservation or have to go super early to get a spot. There is valet parking as well as street parking, which can get a bit crowded. I've had a ton of different food items the years, but their fajitas are their signature dish for a reason! It comes out sizzling, fresh, and delicious. Do not pass up on the bone marrow sauce, it transforms the dish to beyond a 10/10! The salsas are always good and then tortilla chips salty and fresh. I start with a skinny margarita w a salt rim, which was good. Our waiter, Abraham, was great! He was very attentive and was very knowledgeable about the menu. We also order the ceviche to start, which was yummy! The crackers were a bit of an odd pairing for me and I stuck with tortilla chips, but overall delicious!! My friend ordered the steak quesadilla and thought it was tasty too.

We hung out comfortably and had a couple of drinks before heading out. The food is amazing!! Obviously every dish is meat based here and it's cooked to perfection. Here in Texas, chips and salsa are such a commonplace experience it's off-putting to pay for them. We ordered the guacamole and the chips and salsa come with it, so that was, I guess, better...but the guacamole was $16, so there's that. The salsa was tasty as was the guacamole, but again, for the portion it's really not worth it. We had the queso flameado, which was yummy and the flour tortillas are good! We split the sirloin and were underwhelmed. For a grilled meats place the steak was very under seasoned and wasn't giving us fresh hot grilled vibes. Meh at best, as were the rice and beans. We ordered elote as a side and it was really the best thing we ate. Service was friendly and efficient! Cocktails average $16ish. Again, for the prices we expected better.

Chris our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. He took his time walking us through the menu and explaining what made El Carlos Elegante so special. The drinks were perfect. My wife loved her Desert Flor while I thoroughly enjoyed my Modelo Micheleda. Her Surf and Turf one hitter was exceptional. I have to say my Crab Cake was just ok. It tasted a little pasty and very heavy on the bread. The Pulpo was absolutely amazing. Perfect texture and the sauce it was served almost had me licking the plate. The El Machete was incredible from its presentation, to the freshness of the corn tortilla, to the quality of the meat inside. Definitely recommend this. We really liked our Okra + Shishito course, we just wished it had more okra in it. The two things I loved about the Al Pastor was of course the sauce it was served on but the fact that I got to enjoy it like a steak. It was served sliced on a bias like flank steak. Typically Al Pastor is finely chopped and served in tacos and burritos, so this was a different eating experience for me. And of course it was delicious as well. We cannot wait to come back and try more of the menu.

That visit checked every box -- the food, service, ambiance, and overall hospitality were all exceptional. What really stood out to me then was the attention to detail. I had casually mentioned that one of my cocktails wasn't quite my taste, and Harry personally reached out afterward to say they'd gladly adjust it next time. That kind of thoughtful follow-up leaves a lasting impression and is exactly the sort of hospitality that elevates a restaurant experience. Unfortunately, this recent visit felt like a completely different restaurant. We decided to do a combination of à la carte dishes along with the Experience menu after being told this version would feature entirely off-menu items, which genuinely intrigued us since Ihad also done the Experience previously. At the start of dinner, we were asked about allergies and dietary restrictions. I clearly explained that I have a mango allergy and do not eat beef. Our server then asked whether I ate other meats, and I clarified yes -- and even specifically mentioned that if the machete dish was beef, please still include it because my friend could enjoy it and I really wanted her to try it. He confirmed it would be the sirloin version, so we happily agreed not to modify that course. So imagine our surprise when one of the first dishes arrived dressed with a mango vinaigrette. Thankfully, we barely caught him quietly mentioning "mango" as he set it down. We immediately looked at each other thinking, "Didn't we just discuss the allergy?" It was disappointing, but unfortunately also representative of the overall service throughout the evening. Our server seemed disengaged, inattentive, and often not fully listening. Empty glasses sat untouched, opportunities to order additional items were missed, and at one point we were simply handed the check without even being asked if we wanted anything else. We also ordered a bottle of sparkling wine and ended up pouring it ourselves for most of the evening because our glasses were rarely refilled. I completely understand not leaving the bottle tableside if walkway space is limited, but repeatedly needing to get up ourselves to retrieve it felt out of sync with the level of service one expects from a Michelin-recommended restaurant -- especially at this price point. Then came the machete dish. Instead of the sirloin version we specifically discussed, we received the vegetarian potato version. When the server asked how it looked, I politely explained that we were disappointed because he had specifically told us it would be the sirloin preparation. At minimum, I would have expected another protein substitution given the earlier conversation about what I could eat. I'm also still unclear whether the Experience menu was truly "off-menu" as described, since several dishes -- including the halibut -- appeared familiar. Had that been communicated differently, we likely would have skipped the Experience altogether and simply curated our own meal. At the end of the night, spending over $500 while pouring our own wine, nearly being served an allergen we explicitly disclosed, and receiving dishes different from what was promised made for a deeply disappointing experience -- especially after such a phenomenal first visit. It honestly felt sad more than anything because I know how wonderful this restaurant can be. I'm not sure what changed in the last five months, but the difference was significant.
