Just tried Dockside Deli and honestly, it was really good. The food was fresh, the view was amazing, and the whole vibe was super chill. I've gotta give a special shoutout to Jose--awesome guy, super friendly, and an absolute beast on the grill. He was outside cooking up fresh sandwiches, and it really gave the place a cool, unique ambience. It feels like a hidden spot with plenty of parking, and everyone there was super welcoming. I'm also a fan of the self-serve soda setup. Overall just a great experience, and I'd definitely come back. I will highly recommend coming here with the family with the children. There's a cool little park that they can enjoy and you have food that's very affordable and very delicious. Five stars all the way around. It's tucked inside a nice park too, so you can bring your dog if you want. My dog's a service dog so he can come inside. read more

Was attending an event at the Marina park and decided to try Dock House during my lunch break. It's a pretty spacious spot with some tables outside right along the dock where you can watch wildlife and just soak in the smell of the ocean and fresh air. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly everyone is and the selection of sandwiches to choose from. Along with a house selection of sandos, they also have a "build your own" sandwich option where you can choose the bread, the sauce, cheese, meats, and toppings. All of the sandos have macaroni salad and a pickle or you can also choose fries. If you're a soup and sando person, they have daily soups that sounded fantastic but I didn't want to be bogged down, so I just stuck with my sandwich. I chose the chopped Italian sando. I instantly loved this choice, as It was so flavorful and fresh. The sandwich was probably a 9" sandwich cut in half for ease of eating. The toppings were perfectly placed within the bun, allowing for the fillings to stay situated in the bun all throughout eating it without spillage and without having a giant mouthful of bun at the beginning or end. The macaroni salad was basic but delicious. Overall this spot is definitely a great find and I'll be back just for the out of the way bay ambiance and great service. read more

This place is another hidden gem for San Diego. There is plenty of parking!!! We found it looking for another place. If you go be aware there is one cook and one counter person taking orders. If you have a large party you will have to wait for your meal as they make the individual eaches. However the wait was worth while, look at the pictures There are seats inside and out we chose to seat out side. The only noise we heard was the band from the next business over. For the food taste was good especially for the price we paid, $75 plus 15% tip was a great price for 4 people!!! The have all types of adult beverages and regular ones also. If you order the grilled option it comes with an order of fries and a drink included for $10!!!! All condiments are old school on a table where you squeeze from a bottle, there's napkins and utensils there also. As O always says try it you may just like it!!! read more

I got the Marina Grinder which comes with a scoop of Mac salad. The bread was warm and very lightly toasted. Super soft. Not typically the style of bread I like but this roll was excellent. The ingredients all tasted super fresh. The Italian dressing on it was very tasty and really sealed the deal for me. Excellent sandwich. Very cheap. Can't be the views. Definitely will be back. We called in our order for a turkey sandwich, veggie wrap and ham sandwich. We needed it at a specific time. The food was ready on time. Unfortunately the cashier, who was very nice, was extremely busy and we had to stand in line for about 15 minutes. The food was very good. The sammys came with excellent macaroni salad (not drenched in mayo). It looked like there was a corn hole tournament going on that day. So I can't say that that is the reason for the long line. Great place to eat in Mission Bay. Off the beaten path on a dead end street so doesn't get a lot of drive by business. Right off the bike path if you're bicycling down the jetty. You have to know it's there. Food is great and very affordable for the area compared to the other places around. During the lunch time period, there's an outdoor grill where you can get a big burger and fries. Service is very good too. Has a nice outdoor seating area overlooking the marina. Have been there quite a few times now and have never been disappointed. Give it a try! read more

Mushroom/swiss burger had plenty of both with a good sized 1/2 pound patty. My knock is they ask how you want it cooked but don't deliver it that way. My "medium" burger was "WELL DONE". To the point it was a little tough and affected the flavor. First time here so maybe it was a fluke. Not a local and won't be back. read more

I stopped in 7/09/24. I was with a friend, probably the fifth person I introduced to the wonderful sandwiches there. My accounting system tells me that I have made 127 prior purchases here. It was a hot day. We were outside for 3 hours before arriving and had another hour to go to get to our cars. The soda fountain was no longer there. We really needed the large drink, and to fill it a second time to rehydrate while eating our sandwiches. When I asked about the soda machine, I was told it was broken, the staff is working really hard, and they are doing the best that they can. I acknowledged that they were working hard, but wanted to get my point across that the availability of the soda machine is very important to many customers, especially on hot summer days. I am uncertain if my point was understood. I was told you are looking for a replacement. Please be aware that the soda machine is imperative. I was planning to visit again today with another long-time customer, he decided to go somewhere else when he learned that the machine was not available. Went here for lunch during the week only about half an hour before they closed. The staff let me know that even though the outside seating had been locked up, that I was welcome to sit anywhere else I liked. I ordered a wonderful turkey, avocado and cheese sandwich on toasted sourdough that was perfect and came with a side of pickle spears and the best macaroni salad I've ever had. Since it was a very cool, overcast day I also got a bowl of clam chowder, which was very good (and I'm from Boston, so I am particular about chowder). The portions were generous, the price was very reasonable and the service was outstanding. I sat outside with a beautiful view of the marina and a great blue heron even walked by on the lawn. What a wonderful place! I would recommend it to everyone and definitely return. A true hidden gem! read more

Great Tasting Sandwiches. Very reasonably priced. Nice Staff. A little, hidden jem of a deli. Has a great water view and some outdoor seating. It's order at the counter and sit down. When we were there only two people were working so it took a few minutes for our sandwiches to come, but it was worth it. The fare has a classic homemade taste, like something you would make yourself with the ingredients available. I also got a coffee which was Lion brand coffee and quite good. Came w/a side of macaroni salad and pickle. Salad was good, although, portion could have been bigger because it just looked like a small scoop. Friend really liked his turkey avocado sandwich. Their soup of the day of Clam Chowder was tasty, but watery. I added some crackers and it helped thicken up. Overall, not a horrrible place to stop in when by the marina. I was expecting worse since the quality of these food establishments next to the water tend to be poor. But, was okay to good. They also have a buffet brunch, but didn't get to try it. What a difference a week makes. To start at the beginning, six days a week Dockhouse Deli is a mild manner restaurant that serves the marina at Hospitality Point. It has a serviceable selection of meat and cheeses for sandwiches. The prices are surprisingly reasonable considering the captive clientele. On Sunday they bust out with brunch complete with omelet station, two flavors of juice, pastries and the usual suspects of brunchdom. Mainly homestyle cooking meaning omelets are folded over and no stuffed french toast. My first visit was perfect. Outdoors on the water with delicious food. Before I forget, Dockside is cheap. All you can eat for less than $10.00 including tax. I was ready to give it 5 stars...my first. I couldn't wait to go back. Week 2, the french toast was greasy, the potatoes soggy and the pastries included just cheese danish. I would have given it 2 stars one for food and one for the ambiance. Thank goodness for the trails so I could walk off food. Cheap all you can eat breakfast that is inconsistent. It was so very good the first time and so very bad the second. If you're in the neighborhood you might throw down $10.00 and see if it is a good week or a bad week. PS They didn't include any Champagne in the price. read more

Went here with the family after we did whale watching for an excursion nearby. The staff acted inconvenienced when we asked if they had any options for kids. I ordered a wrap and the cashier said "no tortillas". They charge full price for soda refills. I understand they don't want people on the dock coming in and refilling constantly, but full price for a refill fountain drink seems over the top. I used the ketchup on the table and it was literally brown and not red anymore at all... makes me wonder how long it has been sitting there unused. read more

Was looking for a different breakfast place while on vacation in the area. The reviews looked good and it seemed to fit the bill. Fresh food, laid back, inexpensive. Well the food was pretty fresh although the butter was rock hard and not spreadable. Of course, that's a small gripe, the reason for the three star review is the attitude of the staff. My 5 year old was with me and unbeknownst to me he grabbed a large cardboard coffee mug and was playing with it. The staff pointed it out and I told him to stop l, thinking mostly that I didn't want him to fill it with something. She then proceeds to tell me I have to pay for that cup. I'm slightly surprised so I suggest I just use that cup for the coffee I order... her response? "You paid for a small coffee." I'm now annoyed. You think I'm going to steal a tiny bit of your luke warm, brown water? Really? That's your concern? My son put that to rest by then taking a small cup. At that point I came down on him and he went back to the table. I then told the woman I would use his later pilfered small cup for the coffee and charge me whatever for the large one. I get it, the cup was unusable, I just have a problem with a business that is so persnickety that they can't write off one disposable cup. If he grabbed 20 I would understand. Sadly it's a nice spot for a sandwich, ruined by staff who don't understand customer service. Ironically, if she had let it go I would have left an extra tip and probably bought a couple of drinks for the road. Their loss. read more
