Wings Army is a great addition to OB and worth checking out if you're craving wings after a day at the beach. The restaurant is on the smaller side with just a handful of tables, but it's a fun, casual spot for wings and a beer. Out of everything we tried, the lemon pepper wings were my favorite. The onion rings were super crispy, exactly how I like them. The corn ribs were unique and fun to try, and the Munchies Fries were loaded with crispy chicken tenders on top, making them easy to share. The BBQ pork ribs were a miss for me, they were on the dry side. The only other miss was the mac & cheese; it could've been cheesier, and the pasta was a little too al dente. Their desserts were a big surprise. The brownie with ice cream and the funnel cake fries (we got the caramel dipping sauce) were both delicious and the perfect way to end the meal. They also have a huge variety of wing flavors, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. It's easy to see why this new spot has been getting attention.

After significant delays, Wing's Army debuted several months ago in a corner suite of the OB neighborhood that used to house a Starbucks. Although not evident by its name or military-themed decor, this was actually a Mexican-based chain restaurant with hundreds of locations south of the border. This shop was the second one in the US and the first in California. A paid parking lot was available directly to the east of the building if you didn't want to hunt for an open curbside space. A bar was to the right when you walked in. Opposite that were two self-service tablets where you could place an order for dine-in or takeout. There was a small dining area with about half a dozen tables. I arrived late in the evening not long before closing time. Using a tablet, I scrolled through the menu quickly. Besides wings and tenders, there were appetizers, fries, burgers, sandwiches, a hot dog, ribs, and desserts. Nearly 20 different sauces were available for the chicken products. My first selection was three pieces of Chicken Tenders with sweet chili sauce. They came in a plastic sealed bag which I had not seen before as a takeout container. The kitchen was generous and added two extra pieces for a total of five. They weren't the largest size for tenders, but I did like that restraint was shown with the amount of sauce applied. The flavor was definitely sweet with no spiciness. The second choice was a Brisket Hot Dog which was a smoked all-beef brisket sausage served on a hoagie roll. Cups of smoked BBQ sauce and classic mustard were provided on the side. The grilled frank was average in length, but somehow cost nearly $10. I didn't use any BBQ sauce, however I did spread some of the yellow mustard that provided a tangy contrast to the hot dog. For the price and quality of my takeout food, I gave a 3.5 star rating for Wing's Army.

Absolutely delicious food! I honestly couldn't recommend this place enough. We tried a variety of boneless and bone-in wings with different sauces to get a good feel of this new wing spot in ocean beach. There wasn't a single flavor or combo that we didn't enjoy. The corn ribs are a must try! Packed with flavor and perfectly crunchy. Finished our meal with the funnel cake fries with caramel sauce. Genuinely wish I hadn't simply because now I'm going to crave this weekly! Soooo good. To top it all off, They offer a great happy hour and lots of specials throughout the week. Looking forward to returning and trying some more.

Sorry the picture is ugly... but it was toooo gooood! Drooling...

No way... no way... did I expect Wings Army to do the unexpected. Walked by during the World Cup USA v Australia game. $3 beer specials and wing flavors I was soon to explore. **Lemon Habanero!!** Do it. It comes with a cup of what tastes like Boursin instead of ranch or blue cheese. It was an eye brightener and makes you come back for more!!!!

Starting with the ambiance restaurant was extremely clean and very family friendly. There are about 8 tables and some chairs at the bars. Our service was incredibly friendly and told us everything on the menu and the recommendation. The food was exceptional. My boyfriend had the sweet chili which was 3/4 levels of spice. He said it wasn't incredibly spicy but there was a small kick. The boneless wings were extremely crispy and the fries were so good! I definitely recommend checking out it was worth the hype! For our meal it was $36 combo which included 15 wings, friends, 2 sauces, 2 dips and 2 soft drinks! We will definitely be back

Came here to check out the new Ocean Beach location for my birthday, and it honestly might be some of the best wings I've had in San Diego. Everything we ordered was incredibly good: - Sonora Regular Wings (5pc): Had a great spicy kick but kept tons of really good flavor. - Lemon Habanero Boneless Wings (5pc): Not quite as hot as the Sonora, but still packed an awesome flavor. - Sweet Chili Tenders: My girlfriend got these and they were a huge hit. - Corn Ribs: Sweet, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. We weren't planning on getting desert because it was my birthday, they threw in a order of funnel cake fries with a caramel dipping sauce, and they were absolutely amazing. The atmosphere is great, and the service was top-notch. The guys working there were awesome and really friendly. It's a huge addition to the neighborhood and we will definitely be back!

Second time here and the wings are hands down the best in San Diego! We had the Cajun and buffalo the first time. The Cajun are fire. This time we had the garlic butter and buffalo hot. Garlic Butter was insane. So crispy and juicy. We also had the brisket hot dog and that was great as well. They toast the bun and it's really good bread.

    Wings and bacon fry's

Ok you guys have to stop by here if you come to San Diego it's honestly the best burger and wings I've had I also got the bacon fry's 10/10 and the customer service made this experience even better!

Bone in bone out chicken wings house sauces

We checked out a new chicken spot in OB and had such a great experience. The guys working there were super friendly, and the wings were honestly delicious. We tried the buffalo and Sonora spicy sauces both were really good. All sauces including ranch were made in house! They also have an awesome happy hour, with drinks at just $3 each and a solid selection to choose from. I loved the vibe too TVs everywhere, even in the bathroom, which was such a cool and unique touch. Definitely looking forward to going back and trying more from their menu.

The food was great, fast, spicy (we wanted spicy), service was great, waitress was with us constantly, cheap prices. I don't understand why people wouldn't put 5 stars on this place. It met all my standards. It was a cool atmosphere playing English and Spanish music. Overall 6 stars out of 5. I like how that they make their own ranch and also how they have Pepsi and Coke products.

Onion rings were ok. Nothing to rave about honestly. The seasoning on it made them seem nicer but I think it just took away from a good ol fashioned onion rings, they also added a seasoning to the ranch to pair with the onion ring and I wasn't a huge fan. Everything is fresh, cooked to perfection, and explained very well when brought to the table. I forgot the name of the burger I tried, but it was chicken based that was like a curry infused (it was yellow) and I thought it was a nice edition to the menu. Side note, you might want to wear gloves or eat with knife and fork as you'll be using a lot of napkins for sure (haha) I will continue to show the love for this place and enjoy this as one of my "special treat meals". Thanks for the wonderful experience.

Its San Diego time again!…read more I have been to the original Hodad's in Ocean Beach, so during a staycay in the San Diego Gaslamp, I said I gotta hit up this location on Broadway. The portions are big and the quality of the food is very good. The breading and seasoning on the chicken was tasty AF. Secondarily, the burgers are 1/4 lb and a single is plenty for a normal person. Lastly, the rings were thicc and GBD. Unfortunately, we sat in traffic for 3 hrs from OC, when it normally takes 1 1/2 hrs: We were really hungry, and Hodads met our needs. Regarding the ambiance, its a bit grunge but np for me. The name has a whole lot of nostalgia in SD. The service was friendly & warm. Our food came out quickly. The only downside was the chicken & rings needed some kinda sauce, but otherwise everything else was great. Would def return the next time I am in the area.

Pros: I got the half-pound burger with fries and it was really good overall. The burger was super juicy, well-cooked, and had that classic hearty, satisfying taste you want from a solid burger spot. The portion size was generous, especially with the half-pound patty, and the fries were a great side to round out the meal. The location in Pacific Beach is also a big plus. It's in a great area with lots going on, so it's easy to grab food and walk around afterward or make it part of a beach day. The overall vibe of the spot feels casual and fitting for PB--nothing overly fancy, just good comfort food done right. Cons: Since it's in a busy beach area, parking and crowds can be a bit of a challenge depending on the time you go. It's more of a casual grab-and-go or quick dine-in spot, so don't expect a sit-down restaurant experience with a lot of space or quiet seating. During peak beach hours, it can also get pretty busy. Verdict: Overall, Rocky's Burgers is a great spot in Pacific Beach if you're craving a juicy, satisfying burger in a fun beachside area. The half-pound burger and fries hit the spot, and it's a solid choice for a casual meal before or after hanging out in PB.
