We visited for my partner' birthday. We've been once before and had the lobster fondue, so we're excited to visit again. We called ahead to find out if there was a wait, as it was a Saturday evening. There wasn't, so we headed over, and we're seated immediately adjacent to the bar. Now, I loved the huge windows and watching the bar hustle and bustle, but we were seated right next to the door that exits to the deck and everytime a server brought food out, it would slam shut and was heavily distracting from conversation. We asked the manager if we could prop it open, but he mentioned that there was too many black flies as it's on the water. He didn't say anything about the other door that was fully open 3 tables away. Our server was *brand new,* and not only was it her first day on the floor, I got the distinct feeling it was her first day ever serving. She was fine, friendly, and overattentive, but incredibly flustered. We didn't mind, but I felt a bit bad for her. The food was AMAZING. Very few times do we repeat visit where allll of the food is as good as we remember. That lobster fondue is delicious. Also, the mac & cheese had huge flakes of lobster and crab, which were heavenly. I'd highly recommend visiting for a fun date. It's quaint with a yacht-casual vibe. Perfect for summer in Michigan. Our whole group loved Dockers! We came in around 1pm to sit on their beautiful expansive patio. They had a great band that day, playing acoustic music at the perfect volume, and the food, drinks, and service were all great! We really enjoyed the frozen drinks and sangria, and their crabcakes were SO delicious with a large helping of seasoned corn and a little spice. The servings were all large, great value for being right out on the water, and we really liked the vibes. We'll definitely be back next summer! read more

I am a big fan of the outdoor tiki area of Dockers. It is my favorite spot to relax for drinks and food. Water view, a band, and great vibes. As Muskegon locals, Dockers is a staple at least once a summer. The lobster roll is my absolute favorite. I also enjoy really like the ahi tuna nachos. Can't forget the frozen sangria as well! Great food, great service, great location and great vibe! We went on a Sunday afternoon and they had a fun live band. We asked for shade if possible and the hostess was nice enough to walk us around to try to find a seat that would work for us. The bang bang shrimp was delicious and a great portion. My husband had a fish sandwich - very tasty and generous portion! I have the Greek salad with blackened chicken which was also great. Arrived by boat with a group of gals (and my wife) having a great time on the water. The dock hands were great getting the group safely on and off the boat. The food was good-service was a little slow but they were busy and the place was rockin so no big deal. What a disappointing visit to Dockers. When we originally moved to the area 9-10 years ago, our lone visit was unimpressive - food and service were just ok. Then we tried again a few years ago. Something changed - new owner, new menu, new chef, not sure what it is. It was amazing. Food was top notch!! Our trip there last week was horrible. Crab cakes: poor consistency, not cooked proper, poor taste quality; Mussels: the sauce was awful, incredibly over cooked; Bang bang shrimp: Im used to big large gulf shrimp but these were tiny pop corn or rock shrimp, I'm not exactly sure; Salads: we're fine but served on mini dishes making it impossible to eat without food falling off the plate; Smash burger: ugh! What a gross soggy mess! The flies were the worst. I get that eating outside on the water sometimes means having to deal with bugs but these black flies were overwhelming. It was as if the area hadn't been properly cleaned though out the summer. The server wasn't great but I'm not going to bash someone on the wait staff. This place has been in business for a number of years and is still a wonderful place to eat. It's right on the water and the menu is extensive and varied so there's a little something for everyone. The summer bruschetta was absolutely wonderful. Fresh vegetables drizzled with balsamic glaze and goat cheese. Super tasty. The nachos arrive on a cookie sheet it's much more than one person could eat. If you add the pulled pork to it it's very scrumptious. The lobster macaroni and cheese left a little to be desired. It didn't have chunks of lobster like one would expect. More like shredded lobster mixed in very well. Oh server was very nice and accommodating. Everything was great! We've been here several times and ordered about half the menu. Every time, the people are so kind! Also, the atmosphere is fantastic, with live music, fun drinks, and outdoor seating (sun and shade). The food is really good too! I have complicated allergies, and every time they have been extremely accommodating, running back to the kitchen several times to work with chefs and find something I can enjoy. It's really hard to eat out, and this is one of my few repeat restaurants that has never "poisoned me." Absolute must read more

For a place that bills itself as a "fish house," Dockers is extraordinarily bad at seafood. I ordered the snow crab, and I've never seen such tiny crab legs. Some were so small, the cracker was too wide to open them up. Not only that, but they did not have any seafood forks, so I struggled to get anything out of the crab with the massive dinner fork provided. Not sure how it was prepared, but the shell was rather soggy, making it even more of a challenge to crack open. For $80, I expected much higher quality product and preparation. My husband's meal wasn't much better. He got the fish and chips, which wasn't fried - tasted baked at best or microwaved at worst. Soggy and disappointing. The only thing I can recommend is the lobster fondue, which was...fine. If you are a seafood fan and looking to have a nice meal...this isn't the place. Maybe try the burger? read more

I'm not one to leave bad reviews because I give people the benefit of the doubt but... I'm sorry but we were not very satisfied after dinner. Walking in, the place had a funny smell. Server was very nice but a little slow. Food was very slow. Our loaded bread appetizer was probably the best part but it took 25 min to get it. Usually I would just think it's bc they are busy but they weren't, not at all. There were 10 tables, max. Lobster/crab mac and cheese tasted fishy and pasta was over cooked. Popcorn shrimp was the same thing we get from the frozen section at the store and cold. My son had the BLT and loved it. I had the bang bang tacos and they were "okay". This was my first visit to Dockers. The only reason my review is a 2 star instead of 1, is because the ambiance, live music and service was stellar. That said....the food is NOT good. Well, the fried food items were great (shrimp, fries and chicken tenders), so it's a safe bet, but this restaurant markets itself for finer food. Do not bother! I got mahi-mahi tuna on greens (it was supposed to be a burger), and all I can say is yuck! I'm attaching a picture of the the mushy, fishy dish. Just yuck. We have been going to Dockers for several years. I always bet the "House Fish and Chips", which was a reasonable $18, and you got 2 fairly decent sized fish fillets and Fries/slaw. Went there on June 7, 2024, ordered the same, and they have reduced the size of the entree to ONE fillet, again with fries/slaw....for the same $18! If I wanted one fish fillet, I would have ordered from the kids menu....and they did not have an option to add another fillet for additional $$. If you wanted more, you have to buy another $18 entree. I understand that inflation is affecting all of us, but this is simply not the way to do it.....even the staff was very apologetic about it. The staff was great, but I spent nearly $700 for a group of 15 adults and 4 kids, and one might think that the kitchen could be a little more accommodating. My 30% tip was 150, as I always overtip if the service warrants it. I left dissapointed..... read more

We got the crab cakes and the bang shrimp. We were anticipating great dinner, we ordered chicken dinner, and Lobster Mac and Cheese. The food come and the lobster Mac at 22.00 you expect it to be cooked right. The noodles were way over cooked and the water wasn't even salted and the noodles were bland! No flavor at all! The cheese was cold and just tasted nasty! My boyfriend got roasted 1/2 chicken that was cooked to death and dry as sand paper. The potatoes with it were cooked so much they were dry and rubbery! 2 for 2 this summer. Both times disappointed. Very sub par even with COVID considerations. Waiting for over 2 hours for our meal was over the top. Asking for help several times and the wait staff continuing to be unresponsive. If you are going to add tables and expand your restaurant you need the staff and equipment to support it. While there are clear menu staples that people come back for during this difficult time think about reducing menu items and having a limited menu. While people may be disappointed with their limited choices. That is much better than upsetting customers with very poor service. Great outside patio, covered and uncovered you can see the water. Many choices on the menu along with some great drinks. I had the blackberry lemonade, I would recommend it. I was driving back from Ludington and found this place in a Google search. Reviews were good so decided to stop in. So glad I did! The place is huge, doesn't look big from outside but it is. You can sit out on the deck which overlooks a marina. I went with the CAPTAIN'S FISH & CHIPS. You can get full or half size, I went with the full and it was HUGE. 2 huge fillets of fish cooked perfectly. Also came with a roll and this cinnamon butter that was amazing, coleslaw, a piece of corn and homemade potato chips. You also get tater sauce and homemade chip dip. It was a great meal and I would stop in again when in the area. Staff was friendly and helpful, wait staff on point. If there was anything to complain on it would be there is no sugar/sweet n low/equal on tables so I had to ask. I was brought literally 2 packets of sugar. The corn was not the best, it seemed like frozen corn which I am not a fan of. Minor little things in no way would keep me from coming back. read more

Dockers offers 'baby bake' potatoes as a side dish. It is the only place I've been to that offers them they are delicious. The last time I ordered them, they were supposed to come with butter & sour cream. The dish arrived without either. I asked for the butter (I didn't care for sour cream) and the waitress took over 5 minutes to bring the condiments. Because the potatoes are so small, they cool quickly and the butter the waitress brought was cold and rock hard. They should have some servings of butter set at room temperature for people who order baked potatoes. This was their third day of operation for the season so they are hopefully working out the bugs. read more
