Mike, the owner, is a great guy, trustworthy and extremely responsive to any repair needs. I moved into my house in November and my neighbor recommended Doc's as a company he has used for years to service their A/C and heating. I always like to use a local, family owned company when possible and was thankful for the glowing recommendation. Doc's came out and did a check on the AC unit prior to the start of the summer. Things happen and my fan motor blew on the ten year old unit during the middle of the summer and I called the company. They came out and fixed it ASAP and had me running later that day at a very fair price. Just today, I came in from mowing the lawn on a hot summer day and realized the AC wasn't working. I called at 3:45 on a Saturday and his wife answered. He was mowing their lawn and called me back as soon as he finished. He came at 5 pm and had it fixed at 5:10. The start capacitor blew. Both issues were just things that happen to older AC units, but he fixed them both with no problem. My experience with this company was exceptional from beginning to end. I initially contacted them via email to request a quote to replace 2 Aprilaire humidifiers. Mike, the owner, replied immediately. He was incredibly responsive and competitive with his pricing. He also went above and beyond to recommend an upgrade to my current system. They scheduled me within 4 days. The office personnel are easy to deal with and didn't try selling me maintenance packages during my first conversation like a few other companies. John, the service tech, showed up, which he was the "icing" on the cake. He is incredibly professional, personal, and treated the job like he was doing it at his own house. We had called Doc's to repair our central air on Aug 5th. They had sent Maria to repair our AC. At first when she arrived being a senior & never having a woman come to our home for any type of repair I was skeptical if she could really fix the problem. After finding the AC needed a dual capacitor & also had a leak in the system she called Mike her boss to confirm. He said he needed to review the entire system the next day. Tue Aug 6th they both came out and completed the job at a reasonable price. Maria even had replaced the ac filter that we had on hand. Ok people. These are the guys you need to call for ALL your HVAC concerns. I have a 100 year old house that heats with water radiated heat. The heat just wasn't getting to where it need to be. One day the family room was warm then the next it was warmer elsewhere. Doc's HVAC diagnosed a distribution problem and worked with us to solve it. They truly listen to your comments. My a/c unit broke during the hottest time of the year. I got quotes from many HVAC companies in the area to replace my whole system. Every other company was trying to take advantage of my situation and quoted me outrageous prices. Mike was the only one that was truly honest, didn't try to sell me something that I didn't need and didn't take advantage of my situation. Scheduled our spring system check up with Dana of Doc's Hvac last week. Established an appointment for today at 8:30 AM. John arrived on time and very professionally outlined his plan to check our our two units. After inspecting the attic and basement units he moved outside to perform the cooling system check of both units. He indicated that both units while getting on in years, were fully operational in good working order. He cleaned the coils, confirmed the coolant was fully charged and made some minor adjustments. We have been so happy with the service we've received from Doc's HVAC! We assumed that our A/C had finally died, and they came out within just a few hours of me calling. After a quick inspection they determined that the issue wasn't the A/C unit - it was just a dead thermostat! The unit also needed cleaning and more refrigerant, so they took care of that and did a bypass of the thermostat until another guy could come out to replace that. Doc's communicates well with info regarding appointments. Technician John showed up on time. He performed a thorough maintenance routine on my air conditioner unit and recommended replacing the capacitor. He did not try to "scare" or pressure me. Upon checking the internet, I see that it is not unusual to need a new one after 10 years and we are going on 18 with our unit. He performed the needed repair. MIke the owner came over to quote and install our new furnace and did everything he said he would on time!!! The other two gentlemen who accompanied him were awesome too. They laid down tarps to protect our hardwood floors and carpet and were very courteous. When finished they cleaned up the area they were working on and left. Very pleased with their professional services! Our air condioner stopped working. We never used them before but when we called, Mike came within 4 hours, diagnosed the problem and ordered parts. Doc's is my permanent HVAC company. Service was very prompt and friendly. Technician was very thorough in working through the causes of air conditioning problems starting with the easiest and least expensive possible causes. We did end up needing coolant.
