We came on a Sunday night and had no waiting. Our meals were delicious and the server (a girl with long dark hair and many tattoos) was really helpful. My son wanted grilled shrimp or fish and she was able to suggest a special without sauce plus an add on to accommodate him. Took my Father for his birthday this past Friday. We waited for almost an hour, but that was not the issue. Our server was rude and seemed to be inconvenienced with our presence. He was very attentive to other patrons, but would not interact with us. I thought it might be because he was waiting other tables, but he was more engaged with them. I was able to tell him it was my father's birthday. He said ok. He came back with a slice of pie and said thanks and left. The biggest mistake I made was tipping him. Then the food came, and things went downhill. The crab guacamole was the start - it looked fresh but was bland as the day was long. I got a seafood platter with fish, shrimp, and a crab cake and my partner got a shrimp platter. In short - everything was bland. There was little to no seasoning. Everything appeared to be cooked fresh, but it lacked taste and seasoning. Like it had none. I wanted to love this place, but it was bland as the day is long. We chose this restaurant for lunch based upon the reviews from our YELP colleagues. Thanks to all of you for posting! I ordered a half dozen raw oysters and my girlfriend had the clam chowder for appetizers. The oysters were big, meaty, flavorful and properly shucked. The clam chowder was loaded with clams and had a good broth. We both ordered flounder with new red potatoes and the veggie of the day which was asparagus! My flounder was the crab stuffed version and my girlfriend's was blackened with a shrimp sauce. Both were delicious! The service was very helpful and excellent. We would definitely eat here again! Highly recommend!!! We had over an hour wait, but had a great time enjoying the water and birds while sipping on their signature cocktails and margarita flight. Just leaving Doc's. Great lunch - fans on so nice air movement on a hot Texas day with comfy seats to watch the boats on the waterway. The lemon/strawberry/basil drink with Deep Eddy Lemon was perfection. we shared and sampled 3 dishes and all were lovely. Had the Shrimp PoBoy. It was good in that it was plain like if you was to make it at home. Also kinda dry. The shrimps were BIG. Way bigger than any we'd catch in Kansas. This is a tourist trap on padre island.......and you know what, they've earned it - great spot right on the water for perfect sunsets. i took my gf here to storm watch last night in this open air restaurant looking over the gulf - i always considered the food to be medium at best - either my brain was foggy or they stepped up their game. i ordered the shrimp skewers with roasted potatoes and my gf ordered a chicken dish with a poblano cream sauce. the server was on it......quick with the drinks, quick on the order, witty etc.....5 stars on the service.....and the place was hopping. my dish was super tasty - they only suggestion i would make is more veggies on the skewers (they're cheap and wold bulk up the dish) - fresh baked bread came to start which we inhaled, so he brought another loaf.......we took it home :) my gf loved her chicken dish - i won't steal her thunder on it's a review. great time. thanks. read more

This is on my top ten places to eat! What great experiences we had here during the multiple trips to the beach with family and friends. The restaurant itself is right on shore. We sat on the dock and we could look down into the crystal clear water and saw the fish and sting rays. The atmosphere here is just alive and fun. They always have live music with relaxing light music. It almost feels like a scene in a movie. The food there is just amazing. At first we experimented witht the fish was btw was amazing! My fav was the blackened mahi mahi served w/ artichokes (can't remember the name of the plate). I also ordered steak from there and I was so surprised it was better than steaks I had eaten at nearly every steakhouse. The waitstaff here were always so friendly and down to earth. Couldn't ask for better espcially when you are on vacation. Overall this place rates in my top ten for restaurant experiences. Go there and you are guaranteed to experience a great time, have good service, and enjoy amazing food overlooking the ocean floor. read more

Stopped in this Friday night for a bite to eat and drink by the water. Got a fishbowl Long Island iced tea which was solid for the price, but the food was unfortunately overpriced and underwhelming. I ordered the crawfish bacon fries as an appetizer which wasn't bad, but the bacon was soggy and stretchy when crispy is how it should've been. Not a fan of soft bacon. The real issue was the crab stuffed flounder, supposedly one of the popular dishes here. The fish had zero seasoning and seemed to rely on the sauce on top as the flavor for the dish. It also came out on a very hot plate but the fish and crab, along with sauce on top, were literally less than room temp which made it seem like they took food that had been sitting out and put it on hot plate hoping it would warm it up by the time it got to the table. Today was probably my second time here and I was not disappointed. The food was good and the service good as well. The restaurant is nice with a beautiful view of the ocean. If you have pets you can also take them in the downstairs area and just order the food to go and eat down there. For my meal I had the crab stuffed flounder. Very delicious I would recommend it. It came with a side of coleslaw and dirty Cajun rice. The rice was good but I didn't care for the coleslaw. I also had the cool crab guacamole and the award winning seafood salad which was lettuce, blackened yellowfin tuna, shrimp, and calamari.
