5/5 for coffee and vibes - I have not been very impressed with the coffee in k-town, but Document really steps it up. Their selection of pour-over is great, and I'm always at a loss on wanting to drink all of them. I would also recommend their Document latte, which is a latte with maple syrup. It isn't too sweet but quite delectable. I've also gotten their green tea latte, which wasn't too sweet either! I love their decor, it's very unconventional with trash can lights and photos of friends around make it a friendly place to come and hang out. I think their mural of their friends recreating the Last Supper is pretty witty! This place is definitely for coffee and chatting or a quick grab and go. 3/5 for study place - There aren't that many outlets, and most of their seats are up against the wall, if that's what you like. The tables aren't incredibly spacious, and the chairs would not be ones you would want to sit in for a long study session. Parking isn't too bad, there's street metered parking in the front and a lot in the back, which is better than your typical k-town parking situation. read more

With its delicious drinks and laidback environment, Document is my fave coffee place in town! The easy parking is a plus for me, too! DRINKS: I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the iced matcha latte + soy. I like my drinks sweet and milky, and this drink encompasses both. I find that no other place makes it perfectly sweet and delicious as Document does! The Document Cold is also delicious and smooth. I don't like drinking bitter coffee (I know right - what kind of a coffee person am I?!), but this coldbrew drink is sweet enough to satisfy both my sweet tooth and coffee cravings! The glass cups are also SUPER aesthetic & pretty ~ perfect for an Instagram pic. ENVIRONMENT: Perfect place to study! There are outlets galore and lots of spaces to sit (if you're coming alone). Tables are all communal/shares, so it may be a little hard to get a good spot if you're coming with 2+ people. It also gets pretty loud on weekends when groups of friends are stopping by to get their coffee fix throughout the day (thank goodness for noise-cancelling headphones!). WiFi can get super spotty when there's a lot of other folks studying (mine disconnects often). The decor is similar to that of a average hipster coffee shop. Nothing too spectacular, but cute nonetheless! MISC.: I took out one star, however, because I think the drinks are really pricey... including tip, I've paid $7 for my matcha lattes and ~$6 for my coldbrews. It's much more expensive than other places in town, but I tell myself that it's worth it if I use their *free WiFi* during my stay. Parking is free in the back. I'm drawn when there's free or easy parking! This coffee shop has a very hipster and laid back feel. It has a nice layout and cool wall decor. The tables and chairs are all wooden - which totally draws me in! Aesthetics on point. I ordered the cold brew single origin ($5). It's some strong coffee! It definitely satisfied my coffee cravings. I'll be sure to try the other drinks the next time I go in! There's a really nice aesthetic wall in the back where many instagrammers and foodies take pictures in front of!! I've been wanting to come here for a long time, and I was finally able to try it out the other day. I had their cold brew, and to be quite honest, it wasn't anything crazy. Don't get me wrong, it still tasted great but I felt like it was pretty pricey for a cup of cold brew that didn't taste anything over the top ($5). However, I give them four stars because this is such a great cafe for anyone who wants to study or just have a nice talk with a couple of friends. There is a lot of seating and free wifi. My go-to coffee bar. There are 4 coffee shops I really like: Tomo coffee in Sawtelle Sycamore Kitchen in Mid-Wilshire Balcony coffee in Ktown AND Document Coffee bar in Ktown! They all have amazing coffee + atmosphere. Huge plus is that this cafe has a parking lot which means you don't have to drive around and round to find a spot. I usually get their document latte with soy milk. I just really wish that their latte had a bit more coffee taste. A little to water-tasting for my liking but still it's pretty good. Chairs aren't that comfy to sit down and work for a long time but I do see many people with their laptops and papers. They have a cute outdoor patio for people with dogs or smokers. I like Document a lot! At first, it felt like it was just hype because when I walked in, my immediate thought was that I would not want to study here. The tables are really skinny and there are chairs kind of messily placed along a long table, which makes the surface area pretty crowded. Personally, I like having a big open table space for me to spread out my study stuff...so that would be my main complaint about this place. Also, there isn't always access to an outlet, so be careful where you sit. They're kind of scattered throughout the spaces. What makes me like Document, however, is the service and coffee! I'm not usually a big fan of coffee. I drink it when I desperately need the caffeine, and I usually make a face after my first sip, and then suck it up to finish the drink. So when I order coffee, I usually ask for the cashier/barista's recommendation and drink with low expectations. At Document, the barista was pretty helpful in helping me decide. I got an iced Document Latte, which is a cafe latte + maple syrup. I was so surprised when I took my first sip! I genuinely liked it!!!! If I got to choose which coffee I got to drink whenever I needed it, I would always get a Document Latte. If you manage to get a good spot that's near an outlet when there aren't too many people, I think it's an okay place to study at. But they do close early so it's better for morning-late afternoon studying. read more

Just ok. If you're here to do work, electrical outlets are kind of sparse. The decor is modern but it reminds me of a high school classroom with the desks they have here, which is everything to describe 'stiff'. Seats aren't that comfortable which made it challenging to concentrate and if there are many people, the wi-fi is lacking. The coffee was better than average, I got the Document Latte. Drinks are pricey at $5.50 for my drink, but I felt like the latte was a decent size compared to the other drinks. However, the latte overall wasn't too memorable, not bad, not amazing, not worth the money. But the server did also over pour my drink so I had a tough time bringing it to my seat which was quite disappointing. Is this place overhyped? Maybe so. Parking is not the best in K-Town but I would come on Sunday (Since free parking). Although overall mediocre, the best part about Document Coffee Bar is that they accept apple pay! read more

Very lovely and cozy shop. I love a coffee shop with cool wall decors. Moreover, I love the wooden desk, long table, and chairs; which gives this very homie feel. It's another great location for coffee photographers, giving the creative interior design. Also, there's an instagrammable wall outside at the parking lot side of the shop. It contains vine wall, the name of the shop, and plain wooden beach My friend and I decided to get cold brew affogato and document latte. I love the affogato dipped into the cold coffee; it makes it very enjoyable. Many coffee shop is design for a relaxing studying environment, and this place is great for it. A lot of seating spot, though the long tables are rather narrow. Probably not good if you have a ton of things with you. So a friend of mine used to be a barista here so I might be a little biased. But obviously they serve some of the best coffee you can find in Koreatown. If you are picky about coffee like me and want to know when the beans were roasted and which roasters they use, they will treat you well. From what I know the baristas here are all excellent and experienced. I'm sorry if this place is too crowded for your meetings but I feel this really isn't the place to lounge and chat with people. Since it's covered in media quite often, the place does get filled up pretty quickly. It is hipster with all the decorations and interior design. So I never come here to sit down to study or read. Nice place to get coffee but not the best place to hang out with people due to limitations I've mentioned. I know not a lot of people would be satisfied expecting seats and space. Well I believe they did the best they can to provide space and seats. I always get iced americano and their espresso beans are always on point. Stop by and get some drinks since it is getting hot nowadays. They will not disappoint you with coffee. PS: The coffee whole bean selection here is very interesting. Document's a KTown coffee shop that signs, seals, and delivers. Their coffee is always brewed on point and I've never had a complaint in the slightest. My go-to order is the Document latte with it's kiss of maple syrup or the hojicha latte which is a roasted green tea base. Or you can be a caf-fiend like I am and order both for one sitting. The actual cafe itself has an industrial chic vibe with a fair amount of space to sit at to chill or study but I've yet to come where I haven't seen it pretty packed. read more

Another decent coffee shop in the heart of Koreatown! Its weirdly situated behind the main building so if you are on Wilshire, its hard to spot. But if youre coming from St. Andrews Pl, you can easily spot the cafe on your right. But parking is accessible on Wilshire and also Ingraham St from the rear side. I believe after 5 PM, its only valet because they share the same parking lot with M Grill but before then, I believe it was free. I dont drink coffee so I cant really comment on how goos their coffee is. I have only tried their iced tea and iced tea is iced tea so, haha. It was refreshing though. They do carry some baked goods and I think I tried something but I dont recall what it was. It was pretty tasty. The staff here are very friendly and they know well about their menu to answer any questions you may have. This coffee shop is interesting because it is pretty small and yet spacious at the same time. I think they tried to utilize its small space as much as they can and I think it worked out well. They used buckets as their interior complements and its very unique. One thing I do not like about this place is that, its very hard to find empty seats. It is always packed with people studying and they never leave so..this coffee shop isnt for you if you want to chat with your friends. Its quiet and like EVERYONE is studying. I would definitely re-order it next time I stop by. There are enough seats to get some work done, but it is not a very comfortable environment. This place was my go to coffee shop during my college days and even now whenever I need to get work done. Ambiance: Document offers a very work friendly atmosphere with plenty of table space, chairs, and outlets. In fact most of the patrons sitting in the shop are on their laptops. I think this is one of the best cafes to study/ get work done at because of the nice bright lighting as well. Plus they also have wifi. The only thing I'd say is that this place can get really packed, so if I'd recommend sitting as close as possible to one of the outlets. Drinks: Hands down, my absolute favorite place to get cold brew. One of their signature drinks is the document cold, which consists of cold brew, milk, and chicory. I think the flavors of this drink are perfectly balanced. It's slightly sweet, but you can definitely still tasted the coffee coming through. I crave this drink on a regular basis. One of my biggest pet peeves at many Korean coffee shops is that the drinks are too sweet, but document stays true to the natural flavor of all their coffee and teas. Aside from the cold brew, I also very much enjoy their lattes! Parking: Another main reason why this place is my go to coffee shop is because THEY HAVE A PARKING LOT!!! Now while the lot does have valet, I've actually been there several times when valet wasn't there and the parking ended up being free! I liked Document! There's plenty of seating, plenty of 1 hour parking outside, and it's got great coffee (albeit a bit pricey). Their document latte is essentially a maple syrup latte, which is one my faves of all time, so can't go wrong there. The wifi cuts in and out a bit, so that was a bit annoying, but hey, it's free. Decor is a bit interesting, they use old paint buckets as lights (lampshades?!). For seating, there are really long communal tables that stretch down the length of the coffee shop, and a few other bar seats and tables on the side. I dropped by Document on a Saturday morning while visiting LA and it was quiet and spacious with really soothing, good music playing for a perfect working environment. There are plenty of long tables and an open, clean layout that makes it feel quite comfortable. I couldn't find any outlets at my table which was my only complaint. I ordered the cranberry-ginger scone and it was the most delicious scone I have ever eaten! Soft chunks of ginger that give it a nice kick against the sweetness of the cranberry. I also ordered a latte and it was pretty good, complete with latte art and all. They also sell french press coffee makers, kettles, and other equipment. The service was also pretty good and the bathrooms are clean. I absolutely love the vibes here, and could sit here comfortably for hours with a book or some work. I came in the morning with my sister and it wasn't busy, I loved the atmosphere of the place, it's a great place to study. The interior is small but spacious and perfect for study groups. Wifi is pretty good here, I haven't had much trouble finding a seat at the times I go, and it's always clean. It is a little pricy, but not much more than other comparable coffee shops.
