Took my 2 Brussels Griffons here for the first time. I can be a bit of a nervous mama but this place made me feel so much more at ease. The groomer (Heather) came out to meet me before my appointment and go over everything. I talked over what I usually do with the dogs and she walked me through what she thought they might need as well. It was a great experience to talk about them together because it really felt like collaboration. What really set me at ease was this: She told me if I went home, inspected them, and find something not to my linking to call her and she would get it worked out. I found this incredibly reassuring, especially during a first groom where she is still learning my preferences. She seemed to really understand that we both just want best for the dogs. When I went to pick them up, they look so adorable and again the groomer (Heather) came out to talk to me about everything they had went through how their behaviors were. As a dog mom I appreciate it so much, when I know what my dogs are doing and what they've been through. She went through everything with me- down to how she was holding their heads during the groom. It felt as though my dogs comfort was her priority, and Im truly appreciative of that. I think they worked very hard on having a great relationship between the dogs and the groomers, as well as the human parents and the groomers too. I felt like I understood everything that was going on. Full transparency seems like a model here and I'm very thankful for that. I will definitely be bringing mine back a I suggest you take a leap of faith and try them out too! Also wanted to mention: The facilities were super clean. They have lots of windows so you can look in on the daycare and the rest of the facility. Every dog I saw walking out looked very happy and content. Not stressed at all, which is what we all want for our pups. In the photos Vaders (black dog) face looks a bit choppy because she is a gremlin and loves to smash her face into things creating mats that Heather carefully removed. She had a discussion with me prior to cutting and I gave her permission. Booked, reserved, paid deposit. 2 minutes prior to drop off as I am in the parking lot she calls me to tell me they don't accept senior dogs. I said ok I explained that on my first call 2 weeks ago. . . When I asked about getting the deposit back she said I can have a manager call you because I'm not sure. That is where our convo went south. Something about this place isn't working well for my 9 month pup. We have gone in for 2 groomings each 30-40 days apart and each time I picked up my pup he is crying whining with hard enlarged inflamed testicles. Days after his visits he is already cutting me with his nails? Isn't that nail filing/cutting included? Both times less than ideal length. I need to find the "right" groomer because it ain't here. The first visit majority of hair was shaved off or cut off his testicles and he licked them for days due to irritation. It cost just as much as petco and PetSmart. read more

Our dog is a medium size so they said they would see how she does with the big dogs and if it seemed overwhelming for her, they could move her to the small dog section. That meant a lot knowing they would check in with Della & make arrangements for her if needed! I am not giving the establishment two stars due to any issues with the staff. However, I am giving it two stars because the dog potty area is a small, rectangular box in the middle of the room. My dog is unwilling to use the bathroom inside, so when we returned home, he had to urinate and defecate quite heavily. Additionally, the area where my dog was confined lacked any toys or entertainment options other than each other. Consequently, I will not be taking him back. read more

She was never aggressive before. I have watxh my dog get bit abd harrassed by another dog, while Deb had her back turned. MY dog has come home with bite marks on her body! I have seen my dog change, and I have become withdrawn since Deb came. No way will.she go back there! Br careful if you send ykur dog there! DON'T BRING YOUR DOG HERE!!! Don't trust this place with your dog! They kept my sweet dog trapped in a cage the entire day, I was able to watch the cameras and didn't see my dog in the play areas all day. As soon as I was able to rush over there to save my dog I saw them take her out of a cage. She is not aggressive and I never received a phone call or report of any bad behavior. I emailed the company and didn't get a email response or phone call so they obviously don't care about dogs or want to issue a simple apology. I also, recently got a invoice from this place and my dog hasn't been there in months. So not only do they abuse dogs they are scammers. I live in a nearby apartment and I have heard several horror stories from fellow residents. I'm truly disgusted by this place. read more

Dog City is unreliable! We had a last minute need for boarding. Flying out to a celebration of life tomorrow morning and Dog City agreed to allow us to drop our dog off over the phone despite it being a holiday. When we arrived they said they were closed. I reminded the girl that we were the ones they agreed to help out. She went inside and reminded her manager of the call and they still refused to take our pet, despite previously agreeing. That's pretty bad business and quite disappointing considering the already difficult circumstances. Do not trust your sweet fur babies in the care of this fickle establishment. read more

First of all, very professional pet parent- friendly. They allowed 7am drop-off even though my grooming appt was at noon. This allowed me to get to work on time and pick him up during my lunch hour. She even called me to double check what I was expecting. Heather made Coco look good as new after a long overdue groom. They are extremely affordable as well. The BEST place. If you are like me & a psycho about your dogs this is your place because they take such good care of your animals!!! Brittany at the front is such a sweetheart. I went there today for the first time, I have a 6 month old english bulldog and he is A LOT of work. He have so much energy, that is crazy! The staffs at Dog City handle it pretty well. I love the fact that they do daily reports about your dog and they also take pictures of your dog to send to you during the day, that's pretty cool! If you have a shy or extremely timid dog, Dog City is the best place to trust with your best friend! I have a chihuahua, who was a shelter pup before and gets very frightened around strangers. She will shriek and attempt to bite out of fear if a stranger touches her. Except for Nora and our Dog City family! They are miracle workers, who take their time with her and make her feel safe. She even lets them touch her face! I also love the blueberry facial and moisturizing mask as she suffers from dry skin - it's a life saver. Finally, when I've traveled for work and she needed to unexpectedly go to the vet (anxiety), Nora made sure to take her immediately and keep me updated in real-time. I've boarded my dog with Dog City the entire time we've lived in Dallas (moving out of state now so unfortunately won't make it back), and I highly recommend it. I always felt totally comfortable leaving him here because I knew he would be safe and feel cared for. The staff is very attentive to the specific needs of each dog and makes sure they do everything possible to put dogs and owners at ease. I also enjoyed being able to watch my dog on the dog cams they put in each room while he was there and receiving daily report cards to know he was doing okay. I paid $180 for my dog to get deshedded essentially. I asked for the full package where they groom, deshed, paws, haircut, etc. and they told me they couldn't do most of it because she was being stubborn and wasn't letting them which I can understand because my dog is not the easiest to handle at a groomers but the fact that they still charged me full price is ridiculous. All they did was bathe and deshed her, nothing else, and they still charged me $180. I went back to ask for a refund and they said that they would give me 25% off but that it would take a couple of days to show but I never received it. If your dog isn't the best with groomers, I suggest you go somewhere else because they don't know how to handle difficult dogs. I've taken my dog elsewhere where they were able to manage her even though she can be difficult. read more

Dog city is a fantastic, locally owned doggy daycare and boarding facility. I've lived in Dallas for almost 3 years, and for the first 2.5 years was taking my babies to another boarding facility near downtown. From the moment I walked into Dog City, I knew it was different. Every visit since my initial visit has been great. They call each of my dogs by name as soon as we walk in, and we only board about a weekend a month. They are able to drop my pups off at the house if I'm running late (for a small additional fee, but totally worth it), and I still love the cameras and the daily update emails that I get from their staff. Overall, even though they're slightly more expensive than other places, their prices are totally worth the quality. I would highly recommend to anyone needing overnight care for their fur-babies. read more

First and foremost, regardless as to whether or not you're short staffed it's no excuse to have your manager state on the phone that "Yes someone is in the room with the dogs at all times" and then back track and say "oh well not today." Also, even though the day after was not a holiday, you still didn't have someone in the room with the dogs at all times. Secondly, you did not refund the entire amount. I specifically told you that I would pay for the visits that my dog went to, you refunded the remaining amount, so yes I paid for the services I got. At the end of the day, your staff lied to me and while I appreciate you making a space for my dog, it still doesn't make up for the fact that you guys don't actively monitor the dogs nor are you guys truthful. read more

My 2 french bulldogs LOVE this place!! We've been coming since day one. The staff is really accomodating and super nice. Before then I tried many different daycare and boarding in the area and my dogs always got sick. Dog City is the cleaniest of all of them. I have total trust in the owner and the people who work there. I just started to train one of my dog with their affiliated trainer and so far I'm really happy with him as well.
