They are absolutely adorable. Their cakes are chicken free, which is great since my dog has an allergy. I love how you can specify a theme and color you want. Dog Eat Cake is such a gem of a business! I adopted a throw-away momma from Texas during Covid who had been severely neglected for the first 7 years of her life. When I got her at 7.5 years old, I knew I had to make her birthday special. I threw a party in the park for her, her dog friends, and my friends with dogs. Very disappointing experience with my recent order. I placed an order for a cake to be delivered for a party I planned for my dog's birthday. From the time I ordered I understood that there was no guaranteed delivery date. A couple days prior to the delivery I emailed and left two voicemails to check in on my order as I wanted to plan accordingly if the cake was going to be late. I received no call back or followup email. The only correspondence I received was an update from UPS on the afternoon of the party that the cake would be delivered the following day. I understand not being able to guarantee the delivery timing, but I should have received a call or email back with the update as I was not able to then make alternate arrangements and my dog had no cake for his special day. I had ordered cakes the prior two years for pickup and had a great experience so this was even more disappointing as a loyal customer. read more

She was also accommodating for pick-up time change; I live in New Hampshire and forgot about my pick-up time. Very reasonable prices, in my opinion, and Sarah was fast responding to e-mails. Just picked up a 6" doggie cake and tin of treats from Sarah, and I have to say, I am super impressed with how they look! There is no actual storefront, so all the examples of her products are on the website. All I gave was a preferred base color as well as other customizations or notes, but other than that I trusted Sarah's creative license. The cake looks absolutely AMAZING! It had little marshmallows and custom made dog-nuts, and real flowers for decoration. Not only that, but she was able to custom print a message to include on the cake, as well as the pups name on the treats inside of the tin. Everythingly was expertly packed and included in a gift bag and tissue paper that I handed off to recipient. Communication was easy and prompt via both email and texting. It was ridiculously BEAUTIFUL AND looked SOOO good, it smelled great and made all natural with banana, peanut butter, yogurt, pumpkin (I think?). My pup kept begging for more but she's small so I could only give her a little bit at a time. I took the rest and put it in a Kong and froze it and it will be a very special ice cream treat later at night. Got the smallest size cake for my puppies first birthday. I added the leaves and happy birthday pick to match cupcakes i bought but the cake was so cute by itself and every dog loved it. They should at least give a better explanation when they are the ones that provided misleading information! Or they should have worked with me to make a simple cake so that it CAN be shipped. It was only until after I called and emailed that I found out it was delayed with no real reason other than "there's no guarantee per our policy and can be due to many factors". What sets a company apart is not what they do and how good their customer service is when something goes right but what they do when something goes wrong. Two weeks ago, I placed an order for cupcakes to celebrate my pups birthday, which we know will be her last due to cancer so we wanted to make it special. I requested to have them delivered a day before her actual birthday to ensure they would be there in plenty of time. When I still had not received notice of the shipment the day they were scheduled to be delivered I called and was assured they would be delivered the next day that they were just a little behind. Unfortunately, the next day came and went and two days after that we still never received our order. This left us with nothing to give our pup on her birthday. When I requested a refund they issued it promptly which was obviously the absolute least they could do, since we never received our order, but they did not even apologize or offer to do anything else to try to compensate us for the screw up or even offer to send a makeup box of cupcakes. I typically like to support small local businesses but given the lack of care and customer service in this situation I would have a difficult time recommending this company to anyone. read more
