I had the "Sooo Cali" which was very smooth and tasty, my husband had the "Another Night in Bangkok" and we both enjoyed the lingering spice. Listen, it's lunch time, it's Friday, you're looking to punish your arteries after being good and crushing kale smoothies every morning this week, and I know what you're thinking: What are the most delicious things I can put in my mouth right now? What is going to potentially get me in trouble with my significant other, just by eating here? Enter, 'The Dog Haus' (Pun intended, by both me and the eatery, I'm sure). Its location isn't in your face, it has no giant billboard advertising its location (I don't think). It's a perfect blend of hole in the wall/bad ass chain thing, with locations scattered through the southwest of THE U.S. of A. So far, the last two times I've been in, I have been greeted by Max Martini's look-alike (The Australian Soldier dad from Pacific Rim?). He's always calmly barking orders to his staff, shouting things like "Bacon!" or "Ringer!" to which the crew barks (pun unintended) back, to confirm they heard. It's the best kind of process that tells me not only is the food going to be good, but that I won't have to say something like, "Actually, I ordered this with soy and a lettuce wrap.... Thaaaaanks...." Words can't describe what is on these burgers, besides, of course, the words on the menu on their site (Which also include very accurate pictures of the food, in my opinion). http://doghaus.com/ Seeing as this was my 2nd time in, the first time to order "The Hangover", I left feeling order envy at seeing there was such a thing as "The Freiburger:" Where they put fries in between the buns. This time through, I knew better. I went up to Max Martini (doppelgänger) and said, 'Hit me with 'The Hangover, but with fries.' Immediately I knew I worded that incorrectly. I stopped him before he could grunt that to his staff. I said, 'Max, [not actually his name and now I feel bad for not remembering it] stop right there with everything you think to be true. I don't want fries on the side... I want fries INSIDE.' "IN-side?" he asked with amazement. "Inside." I confirmed with a finger pistol. "HANGOVER, FRIES INSIIIIDE" he annunciated to his crew. "Hangover, fries inside" they said back. Our business was done. I paid. Five minutes later they shouted my name and I was on my way. I got back to my office, opened the box with my food in it, as Samuel L. Jackson opens the briefcase in 'Pulp Fiction' and there's that golden mysterious glow. The Hawaiian rolls as buns, the fries covered in chili, a beef patty and an egg, all smiled up at me, and I, down at them. The melody of cheese, chili, and a vegan's nightmare, left me so satisfied after every bite. With each bite, I saw Von Miller sacking Cam Newton to win us the Super Bowl. Long story short, and this is the truth, after eating this food, I called a friend of mine who I hadn't called in a while, but I know lives nearby the Haus, and told him, "Broseidon, Lord of the Brocean, you need to eat there immediately." My husband and I LOVE this place! My husband had been twice before and couldn't wait to take me. I wasn't too excited about a hamburger and hot dog place, but this blew me away! I can't comment on wait times, etc because we got there about 10 minutes before closing and were the only ones there. But the food was AWESOME! Between my husband and myself we tried the ringer burger (bbq and bacon with onion rings), the mutha clucka (chicken fontina sausage), and a slider dog (hot dog, cheese sauce, and bacon). IT was all so good! First, the burger. I'm not a big burger person unless it's really good. Well this burger was REALLY good! The meat was juicy, the bacon was perfectly crisp, the bbq was the perfect amount of sweet and the toasted Hawaiian rolls topped it all off! The mutha clucka had great depth of flavor. It was just the right amount of spice, basil, crunchy fried onions, a little cilantro, and once again on a perfectly toasted Hawaiian roll! Lastly the slider dog. If you like cheese sauce and bacon, than this is for you! It was smothered in cheese, and once again the bacon was nice and crisp! We took our food to go, but we did look around the place and love the decor and atmosphere. Will definitely be telling my friends about this place and asking my husband to bring home dinner from here every once in a while since his office is down the street! read more

My new favorite burger spot! My son and I came after church today. I got the Holy Aoili and my son the kids meal. My burger was great! It had more onions than I usually like, but it was delicious! My son's kids meal was a bit much for a 3 year old -- two sliders and a regular fry and a regular sized drink. I would say maybe have two types of kids meals. One with only one slider and another with two. My favorite thing is the fact that everything is on Hawaiian bread! OMG the best idea ever! love the variety of the menu. The food at Dog Haus is great and the concept of premium dogs and sausages is something unique to the area. However, there are a few things that keep this place from being top notch.. The seating here is just awful. If you are here with 3 or more people, don't expect to be able to sit at a table with chairs, you will have no choice but to sit at the awkward high tops with bar stools, or the community bench style tables. For whatever reason there is only 1 trash location in the entire store and it is conveniently located in the opposite direction of the front door (I'm knit picking, but it's annoying).. There is very poor communication at the register regarding how to retrieve your food when it is ready. They give you a number that you bring to your table, implying they are going to bring food to you, however, they will call your name one time when the food is ready (good luck hearing it if you are sitting in the back) and then just leave your food sitting at the counter. The first time I came here, my food sat at the counter for 5+ minutes because I didn't realize they didn't bring the food to your table (why else would you give me a number to put at my table?). It is also pretty evident that this place is owned by an investor rather than an owner putting in work to make the restaurant successful.. The tables tend to be dirty and the staff isn't overly friendly. A "thank you for coming in!" Or, "have a nice night!" goes a surprisingly long way with return customers. My business should be appreciated, not expected.. And finally, they really need to improve their signage on arapahoe road. There is a tiny sign that says "dog haus" off of arapahoe and I honestly thought this was a doggie daycare until I came for dinner at the neighboring chipotle. I know my review is just pointing out the negatives and it wouldn't seem like they deserve 4 stars, but the food here is really awesome! I hope they straighten things out as they have only been open for a few months. However, if they continue doing things the way they currently are, I don't think this location will be around for too long. read more

The seating is inadequate for the amount of business. Especially when there are people that sit at a six top and they are a party of two. The fries are a little salty but tasty. Knew that this place moved into this lot and have run into the guys at different events. Running around town while doing some holiday shopping, we decided to try something in the area. I remembered about this place and that they had pretty nice reviews. Once inside we were welcomed by a spacious, well designed interiour. The menu choices are easily viewed from the waiting line and include a variety of dogs, sausages, burgers, "apps" and sides. A few craft beer choices and any specials are also available by the register (this month was Turducken sausage). We ordered the Thai sausage, slider, onion rings and tater tots. The assembly line was quite disorganized and took a very long time to complete the tickets. Several partially completed orders were left sitting on the counter for a while. Finally our order was called and it was time to get to business. Right of the bat, we noticed how small the portions were. The sausage was pretty tiny and the slider downright miniscule. The sausage flavor was pretty nice but i didn't really get the "Thai". The slider had a good flavor and went well with the onion rings. The tots, usually a easy win, were a disappointment; undercooked and very anemic. Overall the place is ok but probably wouldn't be at the top of my list. read more

I work close by so I saw it being built and was def intrigued. I only ate there once so I cant speak upon their entire menu, but I ordered the hangover. It seemed like something that would for sure work as its namesake implies, but dont expect anything less than a gutbomb for a lunch hour treat. Besides that, the flow of the entrance, order, waiting line and exit, intrude on the dine in experience. But thats just me being fussy. Check em out, especially if you like hawaiian rolls. read more
