I chatted with him for a few minutes and he generously shared his thoughts and tips about the competitive business of dog walking when I asked him for that advice. It was a great conversation and I felt strangely compelled in that moment to write this review and snap a pic to capture the moment. Thanks for the chat, Addison. I believe any Chelsea or Hell's Kitchen dog would be lucky to have you as their walker!

I had had a dog walker who was super unreliable (cancelled on me last minute, lost my keys twice), whose boss nickel and dimed me for everything, without taking any responsibility for any of their wrongdoings. Addison is extremely reliable and communicative. He walks Molly in her group five days a week while I'm at work. I was hesitant about her walking in a group before, but he never walks too many dogs at once, and brings his helper if needed. He sends me plenty of photos, and it's clear that she's having a blast! He really learns their personalities and tells me how she's progressing on her walks and in the group. You can tell that he cares for each individual dog so much! What a relief when I'm away at work every day.

She is not only knowledgeable and experienced, but is warm, kind, generous with her time and attention, and truly invests herself in guiding dog owners to enable their dogs live their best possible lives peaceably together. We reached out to Phyllis for help with our very enthusiastic (some might say maniacal!) young puppy, who was not progressing as well as we'd hoped based on our own training methods. We realized we needed help--so Phyllis was our go-to expert. We arranged for a 3-lesson pack of sessions held at our apartment and also outside, each about a week apart. Each time, she brought new insight into our puppy AND into our ways of working with her. She is very attuned to small nuances in human and dog body language and tone of voice that, with practice, can redirect a bad habit without harsh or needless punishment. She is a strong proponent of positive reinforcement, redirecting "naughty" behaviors, and adjusting strategies as needed. And our pup loved and responded beautifully to her! Thanks to Phyllis, our puppy is now listening and learning better, making more progress than she had made with us alone, and is growing into the sweet, smart, and lovely pet we dreamed of. I highly recommend her for any of your dog training issues. WOOF!

Before starting our sessions, I was struggling with an over-excited Golden Retriever puppy. I had reached a point where I was losing hope, but Warren completely helped me regain my patience. His calm, expert approach changed the dynamic almost immediately. What sets this training apart is how manageable it is. Warren's training methods are intuitive, and his super detailed recap emails were a total game-changer. They made it incredibly easy to practice on my own between sessions, ensuring that we never lost momentum. Training didn't feel like a chore, and because Warren's methods actually work, it was super rewarding. Ultimately, I feel like I have a totally new dog and an infinitely stronger bond with her. I cannot thank Warren enough for his help. If you want a trainer who truly cares and delivers real results, Warren is your guy!

On top of that, he had started showing some guarding behaviors around toys and food. It felt like we were constantly walking on eggshells and didn't know where to start. From our very first session, Warren completely put us at ease. He took the time to really get to know our dog and gave us a plan that was clear, doable, and tailored to our home setup. He explains everything in a calm, easy-to-understand way and focuses on helping you teach your dog rather than just correcting behavior. Every time we met, we came away feeling more confident and capable. One of the best parts about working with him is the follow-up -- he sends these amazing session notes that break everything down step by step. Having that written out made such a difference for us when we were practicing between sessions. Our dog has come so far since then. He can actually relax when people come over, stays calm when cats are nearby, and barely reacts to the TV anymore. Even the resource guarding has improved so much. It's been incredible to see his progress, and we feel like we finally have the tools to keep building on it.

I can't say enough wonderful things about Hannah Richter and the team at Andrea Arden Dog Training!…read more When I adopted Toby, a rescue Shih Tzu mix, I wanted to give him the best start possible. Hannah was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and encouraging throughout our Basic Manners training. She took the time to explain not only what to teach Toby, but why the techniques work, which made me a much better dog owner. One of Toby's biggest accomplishments has been learning impulse control. Before training, pigeons in New York City were an irresistible distraction. Thanks to Hannah's guidance and positive reinforcement techniques, Toby now walks past pigeons with so much more self-control. His overall manners have improved tremendously--he's calmer, more attentive, and much more responsive to cues. The classes were enjoyable, supportive, and tailored to helping both dogs and their humans succeed. Hannah genuinely cares about every dog she works with, and it shows. Toby was so proud to graduate with his Doggy Diploma, and I'm incredibly grateful for everything Hannah taught us. I highly recommend Hannah Richter and Andrea Arden Dog Training to anyone looking for an experienced, compassionate trainer. Thank you for helping Toby become such a well-mannered little gentleman!

I booked a session with Andrea Arden because she has been doing this for 30 years, and you realize very quickly why she has lasted that long. Andrea reads canine behavior perfectly and showed me exactly how I was messing up the training at home and gave me a clear system to fix our dogs bad habits. Once we got his basic obedience under control, we started doing agility with her just to burn off his extra energy. My dog finally listens, and my house is quiet again. Andrea is phenomenally talented and I highly recommend her.
