This place is amazing. I have a German Shepherd puppy that is a year old (aka 60 pounds of straight up endless puppy energy). Myla is very sweet but can also be extremely annoying, especially when she gets excited around other dogs. As expected, she was so energetic and hyper. Chris and Rachel were in the room with her and were so patient with her. I could see Chris working a lot with her on the webcam and it really impressed both me and my husband. They must have family and friends giving these 5 star ratings because my experience was anything BUT good! The whole idea of me taking my dog in on a Sat was so he could have a GOOD experience in day care so that when I had to board him, he would associate it with a good time. I dropped him off and they never came back out to get my name or anything so after about an hour I called and they said, "Charlie? Hmmm....let me see if he's still here"...OMG...I'm the ONLY one that's supposed to pick him up and they don't even know if he's still there? A few min later they came back on the line and said, "yes, he's here...he's in a crate". I asked why he was in a crate and they said it was feeding time. I asked when he went in and when he would be out. They told me he went in at noon and would be out at 2p. I was picking him up at 2p. The whole idea was for him to be in playtime...not locked up!!! Now he doesn't want to be left at all. When I voiced my concerns some punk kid got smart with me and was very condescending.....everyone there looked to be kids....I don't think any adults work there. Plus Charlie had just had a bath and when I picked him up he smelled like he had been put in a dirty crate. They also allow the dogs to poop and pee in the playroom because they said they have no place to take them....seriously? And people are ok w/ this?!!!! gross. I asked that the manager call me back, and as suspected, it's been 4 days and no call yet. If you care about your animals....DON'T TAKE THEM HERE!!!! I guess some people just don't care that much about their pet. By the way, my dog is all of 10 lbs and I would be willing to bet they dropped him, because he was despondent all afternoon....something happened when he was there....I can guarantee you that. He went in happy and full of life (he's very social) and came out so upset. I don't know if he was mistreated or if it was an accident, but something definitely happened. read more

I visited three different places when looking to board my dog and this was the most professional and loving one I came across. I reserved the 5th star because my dog has actually not boarded there yet. He did spend the day and will be groomed there. Just last month, I left my Frenchie, Gizmo, at Dogtopia and it was an incredible experience. I had never left my dog with anyone that wasn't related to me before so I was really nervous leaving Gizmo because he was not ever truly socialized with too many other dogs. When I came to pick up my boy, the staff could not have been more friendly and complimentary of him. The facility is incredible and they will put your mind at ease with their knowledge in what they do. I will definitely be using Dogtopia again. read more

This isn't James Raeh's 1st rodeo at daycare, but this was by far the best experience we've had(not a diss on her other daycare, just telling at the quality of Dogtopia) we were greeted and evaluated by the manager who was beyond friendly and made me feel 100% sure I wanted to leave my baby there!!! There's monitors of the dogs at play in the lobby and I could watch them for hours! Haha! I was also sent pix text of James Raeh at play(it made my day) When I went to pick my girl up, one of the other staff was at the desk and was equally as warm and friendly!!!! Ok, one diss on our regular daycare is, the staff always seems somewhat annoyed at the barking and stress of dealing with a lot of dogs. So glad we found Dogtopia! I have a very excitable 9 month old Goldendoodle who doesn't get nearly the exercise he needs. I wanted to find a doggie day care to take him to once a week so he could play with other pups, learn some social skills, and give me a break (!). Dogtopia has fit the bill perfectly. Their general manager Megan is a doll, and explained their policies and procedures very thoroughly the first time I came in. I left Banjo there for an observation day, and was able to watch him throughout the day on an app, which was very cool (and amusing). When I brought Banjo back for his second day, he got so excited once he realized where we were. He loves it there, and I see a huge difference in his behavior on his day care days - no destruction, no chasing kitties, just a very tired and happy Doodle. worst place I've even encountered. My initial observation day was great, then that Monday I dropped my puppy off fresh from being groomed the previous day, long story short.... after checking on three times via webcam AND PHONE CALLS since I never saw him on cameras I was told he was fine just out of the camera range. When i got off work and picked him up they gave him to me soaking wet and said oh he peed on himself all day, came to find out they left him crated THE ENTIRE DAY SO YES HE PEED ALL OVER, he was shaking and very upset, and for me it wasn't about the money although I did receive my months refund, it was their attitude and just not showing any concern or sympathy, if they had told me during the 4 times I called that Kase was in his crate and not socializing I would've immediatly came and picked him up, but they never said one word and showed no concern what so ever for the fact that he was soaking wet and smelly from pee all day. He is now at Taurus Academy and they are awesome with him !!!! read more

Took our sweet dog here for the first time and have to say I am IMPRESSED!! The people are friendly, the prices are reasonable, and our 4-legged baby looks amazing! We usually take her to PetCo and I always feel crumby about it because the people didn't give me the "warm fuzzies" so this time we tried something new and different. We had her groomed and it was such a great experience for only $35, we officially said we are going to take her to Dogtopia once a month! These folks are in the business because they love dogs. I know, it seems like that would be a given, but the way the treat every animal that comes in the door shows that they really care for making the best situation for every one of their clients. Just take your dog there for a visit, and you will see what I mean. My dog has, well, issues, and has not been successful in other boarding and day care arrangements int he past. However, he is welcome here and even missed when he hasn't visited in a while. The staff is careful to make sure everyone is safe so that everyone has fun and no one gets hurt. Dogs having bad days or who are uncooperative are spotted quickly and handled with care to deescalate anxiety and unwanted behavior in a loving manner that gets everyone back on track and makes the boarding experience significantly less traumatic. This has been the magic formula that has turned things around for our dog and our family because now we can actually leave home for a few days and not worry. My dog is happy when I pick him up, comes home smelling good, and gets excited when we talk about going to see the staff at Dogtopia. I love that they're always available, even in a pinch. Their staff is extremely friendly and obviously love dogs. This might be obvious, but I've had bad experiences at other places. The only reason they're not 5 stars is that they haven't been as good as out last groomer at getting all my Siberian Husky's loose hair combed out. I realize she's a very difficult client, but I still expect them to be thorough and they're occasionally not. They still do a nice job with her and Tasha always comes back happy and exercised, which I love. read more

Took my two dogs in today for the first time, and I have to say I'm impressed! They were there for day care. While there, I signed them up for a bath and nail trim. I was shocked to find out my wiggly, scared puppy was just sitting (without being held) and happily allowed whoever was grooming her to trim her nails. They played all day and came home and crashed. Everyone I spoke to was extremely courteous and friendly. I will definitely take them back in the future. If you haven't given dogtopia a try, definitely check them out! read more

Dogtopia is worth every penny. I have a very high energy Blue Heeler puppy, and he comes home from daycare every day tired and happy. I love watching him on the webcams while I'm at work, and the staff is always so friendly and professional. My puppy has truly turned into a different dog since starting daycare--no longer anxious and nippy, but content, obedient, and eager to please. A monthly daycare pass at Dogtopia is way cheaper than hiring a pet sitter to stop by my house for 30 minutes every day. Plus, I know my dog is being well taken care of without having to sit in his crate the majority of the day. Highly recommend! read more

I love this place, but that doesn't really matter. My dog, Fender, loves it! Let's be realistic- they treat all customers the same, but they always make me and my pup feel like favorites. They are totally accommodating to her eating schedule and routine, and I my heart MELTED when I came to pick her up and one of the employees had taken the most adorable pictures of her during play time! She even sent them to me so I could keep them. My dog is so satisfied after her day of play, and even if they didn't have the amazing referral program, I would still recommend them to everyone I know. If I could give this place zero stars I would. I am extremely disappointed and upset about my pups time at this facility. I dropped my perfectly healthy pup off for a weekend and the day i got her back, she was starving and had a terrible cough. I send her with two boxes of food and let them know that i would pay for the on-site chefs meals as well if it was not enough. One box of food came back completely full my dog is over 50 pounds and eats way more than that. I took her to the vet terrified because of how lethargic and sick she was, come to find out she had terrible kennel cough. I had to drop the same amount of money on her medication as I did for her stay at this place. I called extremely upset because of how sick she was and the lady initially told me that they could do some kind of a reimbursement. Allison called the next day and told me that they indeed could NOT do anything because I "can't prove she got it from their facility" I told them that she hadn't been around any other animals within two months prior to their facility and she still told me "well there can't be any proof that she received it there" after a few more moments on the phone she kept insisting that I didn't know what I was talking about ultimately making me feel stupid and like a bad pet parent. She also came home with a massive scab on her foot that obviously had been irritating her, but yet not one phone call of any incidents. I had called the day before the vet to ask if there were any kennel cough outbreaks to which they said no. I told them they should probably call the other pet parents. The next day, when I was on the phone with the horribly mean and degrading woman, she told me that pet parents hadn't been alerted yet but they would be doing that later. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT OUR PETS! My dog is a huge people person and the whole time while watching the webcams she was ignored.. i am so upset and disappointed with this place. Please look elsewhere so that your animals don't get treated and infected like my sweet pup did :(. read more

I've been sending my two dogs to Dogtopia for daycare and boarding for 7 months now and they love it! They get so excited in the car when they see where we're going. On their most recent visit my older dog started showing signs of a UTI. Not only did they pick up on it right away, they even brought him to the vet to get him checked out since I wasn't able to get there to take him myself. My wife and I recently took a special dog tag here to have it engraved. The engraving didn't come out too well the first time. Instead of telling us sorry and ignoring the issue, the staff went above and beyond to get everything right. They ended up making a trip out to the original store (on South Congress) where we bought the tag and picked up another one! They got the engraving done at their south location and shipped back north for pick up within a day. My wife and I are extremely pleased with the staff and how they handled the situation. My dog has been having a blast at Dogtopia since she was 6 months old. Once a week initially then twice a week, she loves going and I love watching her on the web cam. She LOVES the staff. She has no patience when she realizes where she has been driven to - that door can't open fast enough for her even though she is normally thru the door before 7am. I have boarded her for one week and had no worries (web cam allows us to watch her wherever we are at). The spa service is also great. Bringing a just turned one dog home after a day of play is great because she crashes until the next day. She gets her exercise indoors which is the best for summer months - no worries about the heat. read more

I have been taking my dog here for almost three months and she always comes home so sleepy and wiped out which is amazing! I have a FitBark on her to track her movement, and when she is at home during the day, she will have only traveled about 3,000 steps. But when I drop her off at dogtopia, she will come home with over 11,000 steps! Which is amazing and so healthy for her to get to run around! I absolutely love the people that work here, they are so fun and loving toward the people and the animals. I love that we are able to check in and see the cameras just to see how my fur baby is doing! Sometimes when I check the camera, the playroom attendants are dancing around with the dogs having a blast. That makes me feel completely comfortable leaving my dog here! I love that they will genuinely try to play and pay attention to every single dog in the rooms! Wouldn't take my dog anywhere else! read more

We know that our dog is in great hands with Matt and Jolene after boarding her during a recent trip. Just before getting on our plane, Jolene called us to tell us that our dog had tape worms but not to worry because she'd take care of it, coordinating with our vet and picking up the medicine. We recently took her in from a shelter so she still had a lot of separation anxiety and tried to bite and dig her way out of her crate so they put her into a suite so that she would have more room at no extra charge to us. The dog cam is a great feature that allowed our little one to check in on her new best friend while away and missing her. It was great to know she was free to run around and play most of the day with a group of other dogs getting way more exercise than she would ever get at home. We'll definitely leave her in their great care on our next trip and highly recommend them to anyone in Austin that needs to leave their furry friend behind. read more
