We are thrilled and awed daily with the new look of our beloved maltipoo Rambo. Jaye who has an uncanny strength in scissor cuts, shape and all around doggie caring did an amazing job on our boy. Before finally taking Rambo to Dogue ( we were nervous about grooming facilities in general and had been using a mobile groomer - and sadly he last gave Rambo a horrible shearing bordering on abuse and traumatized my little sweet boy. It was such a bad trip that I thought Rambo would never trust a groomer again- that was until he met Jaye ! ) Upon meeting Jaye, not only did Rambo feel right at home , my wife and I felt heard. We explained in what I thought was too much detail about what we wanted and hoped for in the look, our concerns about our dogs comfort and safety, we surely over did it in expressing our desires for Rambo's cut. We left thinking, darn it , we bombarded Jaye and we resigned to just letting go and just inwardly prayed for Rambo to come back clean at least with a cut that would eventually grow out . We have been disappointed with every cut Rambo has had up until this point. Yet... when we picked up Rambo 2.5 hours later... wow !!!! That's my boy ! He looked like when we first met him! A puppy who could give us the eyes and he was smiling ! His legs looked so chic , how body hair and texture all matched . The textures were finally uniform from his head and chest and back. He was not traumatized one bit! In fact he was a happy doggie. My wife and I spend much time just admiring him. He is our Rambo at his finest. I have to say I am a super helicopter pet parent to my baby boy. And I can say with my whole heart that Jaye is a kind doggie groomer who has an eye for style and will surely care for your pet just like she did for ours. Highly recommended. I found out about this place from my friend who has been taking her dog here for years, his cut always looked so nice! I made an appointment online and really loved how their scheduling system asked details about my dog to make sure they got to know his file before meeting us in person. When checking in, a nice woman greeted me and explained clearly what was going to happen, how long it was going to take, and what services they were going to provide. They also gave me the option of calling me or texting when my dog was ready. I barely recognized her when I picked her up, she looked so good, and more importantly seemed happy!  My dog is usually upset and shakes up to an hour after she's been to the groomer or the vet, but she was very calm this time. Dogue will definitely become her new permanent groomer. read more

This was my first experience at DOGUE. My dog was left with a skin infection after his appointment. We rushed to the vet + urgent care, totaling a $600 bill. There was NO apology or accountability taken from Dogue. No one asked if my dog was okay or said sorry for my experience. I was told, "your dog could have gotten fleas anywhere" and "it's on the owner to know what their dog is allergic to. I could talk to your vet but all that would come out of it is knowing what not to do next time". It was an unpleasant first experience and their lack of sincerity was shocking/off putting. My dog is 4.5 years old and has been to various groomers without issue. During pick-up, they grabbed him from a back room. My dog was excessively scratching for days after. I found small bites covering his hind legs and tail. My dog is flea medicated, had no itching prior and didn't go out anywhere before or after his grooming. Both the vet & urgent care vet confirmed it could be allergies but a strong possibility of fleas since the bites were mainly covering his hind legs/tail. Dogue texted me their shampoo and when I responded with my dogs condition, NO response. I had to follow up myself, only to be blamed. If you haven't taken your dog here, I would highly advice grooming elsewhere. read more

I have been coming to Dogue for over 3 years and a lot has happened since then. Josh (the owner) has been on TV with his dog, he's hired new stylists, and they're significantly busier. I rarely drop or pick my dog up from his grooming (my best friend does it - because I don't drive (don't judge me)) but last week I went to pick my dog up - and wow. NOTHING HAS CHANGED. Josh was so nice to me upon arrival, asked why he rarely sees me and gave me back my dog - who didn't seem stressed at all. I mean? Please never change. I can't believe how much they love animals at Dogue...just such a gem of a find. I'm so glad I found them. Also shout out to Leslye, Jaye & I believe it's Alyssa? (they've all cut my babies hair at different points and done fab jobs). Love this place. read more

We brought our dog to this groomer and were not impressed by its hole-in-the-wall appearance. When we dropped her off we requested she be kept isolated because she isn't spayed; instead they put her on the communal pee & poop grass instead of in a kennel because apparently they don't have any. We spent an entire hour dematting our dog before bringing her there but they still insisted on charging us an additional $25 for dematting. After picking our dog up, we noticed she was sniffling and coughing out a ton of water from her nose and mouth which went on for several days. However they bathed her, the water clearly got into her nose, lungs and stomach. She is only 4 1/2 pounds and very friendly but she was completely traumatized by the experience and has been in a funk ever since, not eating, even refusing treats. We will never be back, and are just praying that she hasn't picked up any disease from this place. We would give it zero stars if we could. read more

Went to this dog spa today only to find out they blatantly fired one of the kindest people there that always informed me about matting and how to maintain it especially for my dogs fine hair. Every single time i went in she was happy seeing how i brushed and took care of him and today i go in and ask for her and with tone told me she was fired... first of all you did not need to tell me her personal business you could have just said she doesn't work here anymore. and secondly they raised their prices by $50+ dollars AND charged me a matting fee $45+ when i brush my dogs hair every single day. The previous worker would literally go to the back and talk to the bather and report back to me that the matts weren't bad and he has super fine hair that doesn't matt.. have not changed anything about my dogs routine in the past 3 years yet get charged a dematting fee randomly.. normally money hungry people dont bother me but ive been coming here for awhile with no problems and all of a sudden i need to start paying matting fees when i brush my dogs hair to help them thats how they treat me? such a sad experience and will no longer be coming back. me and my dog are traumatized. The female worker was incredibly nice and did a great job, I would definitely book her if she were to be independent. However I noticed the matting issue (and other issues) only happens with male worker, who never seems friendly and is blatantly rude. Fire him and this place would be much better tbh. read more

I have been taking my Yorkie to Dogue since they opened and there is no one else in town I would trust with my Shelby. She is always groomed to perfection, they are not stuck in cages all day long. First off, the store itself is clean and neat. Everyone who works there is warm and inviting. I took my little guy Milo in, he's my first and only dog thus far. Dropping him off with groomers was like a mother dropping off their newborn to daycare for the first time. Josh and his team made me feel reassured and Milo loves them more than me now. They're really good with your dog, your dog might leave you for him. I don't go anywhere else now. They always take great care of him while he's at their premises. I couldn't be any happier. It's hard to find people to trust and leave your little furry son/daughter. I bring him here with no second thought. I recommend this place to everyone! read more

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! After a really bad experience at my previous groomer, I obsessively searched Instagram until I came across Dogue. My dog gets really bad anxiety when he has to go to the groomer to the point where he's shaking violently!! When I got there for his first visit, Josh literally sat on the floor and had such a calm energy that my dog Preston was much *less* shaky and scared than I've ever seen him at a groomers before. I will never go to another groomer again!! Now that the important stuff is out of the way, I have to say that Preston has NEVER looked cuter!! He looks like a literal teddy bear. We love Dogue! Allysa has been so patient and kind with our puppy. She truly cares about her clients and we are grateful for her. Our first visit, our Charlie Doodle would not let them cut his face. He received a partial puppy trim and looked flufflicious! His face smelled delicious like blueberries from the fabulous spa facial...Josh gave us recommendations on how to work with our baby to prepare him for his next visit. Charlie returned for another spa day. He received his first full haircut. We are so proud of him! Charlie was more comfortable after we followed Josh's advice. Allyser was so good with Charlie. Our puppy looks so handsome and grown up now. He is extra cute as they specialize in Japanese inspired grooming. Sadly, our last visit was similar to Charlie's first visit. Charlie would not let Josh near him. He was terrified. Allysa, who normally grooms Charlie, was on vacation. Unfortunately, due to a few challenges, we decided to change groomers. Our Charlie Doodle is much happier and the experience is less stressful for him. He misses Allysa. Two of Charlie's siblings continue to go to Dogue and have excellent experiences. They do fantastic work! Unfortunately, it was not a good fit for Charlie. Bonus: Welove the area. It gives us pawrents some special time for a lunch date! read more

Cannot justify a 6 hour grooming appointment for a mini Goldendoodle. Are you short-staffed? Do you have non-competent groomers on Sundays??? What is it? My dog was miserable at pickup. I was impatiently waiting at the return time and she was still not finished. No explanation was given. Not the usual service I have received in the past. There is a lack of professionalism and quality as of late. My dog wasn't brushed after cutting - the trimmings were all over my black outfit- shameful . I am insisting on adequate compensation for the poorly done grooming and excess fees. read more

I brought my dog to Dogue for the first time this past Thursday. Leslie did a perfect job on my dogs grooming, down to every detail i mentioned when dropping him off. I couldn't find a single thing that wasn't up to par with what I asked! The appointments do take a while (mine took around 4 hours) but for the quality of the job I didn't mind. I would suggest making an appointment on a day you're not tied to a strict schedule though! Price is high but everything including bath, cut, nail grinding, ear cleaning, etc is included and when you do the math it's really not that much crazier than Healthy Spot or any other higher end grooming salon in the area. Dogue has been by far the best experience we've ever had with a groomer. I've tried so many different grooming places to bring my Aussiedoodle Leo. His fur gets really long and we like to have it trimmed down, especially in the summer time to keep it manageable. I've taken him to places where they completely ignored any of my requests with how I would like him to be cut. There were even a couple of places I brought him to, that he honestly seemed to be traumatized after, which gave me a little anxiety in bringing him to a new groomer. We saw a few pictures of doodle cuts on Instagram by Dogue and knew we had to give them a try. They were super helpful in getting us booked as soon as possible. When we dropped Leo off, the location was very clean and Alyssa was very friendly. My boyfriend and I both couldn't believe how many questions she asked us in regards to how we would like Leo to be cut since literally no other groomer had asked us these questions before. I felt good leaving him there knowing that they'd be paying so much attention to the details of his cut. When we picked him up, he was in the gated area with Josh's (the owner) dog which made me relieved because I hate thinking he's being locked up in a crate. Hands down, this was the best cut he's ever received. No uneven lengths of fur on the body, no missed long strands of fur on his paws, they took care of a matted spot behind his ear without having to shave his entire body short (a doodle owner's worst nightmare lol). And the best part was that Leo seemed happy and chill, not frightened and stressed like he's been when I've picked him up from other places. I could go on and on, but we're just so happy to have found a place we are excited to bring Leo back to for his next cut and can finally stop jumping from groomer to groomer. read more

Josh and his staff was so kind and patient with my husband & I .. plus they 10% off for first-time customers was a nice cherry on top too! The Spa is clean and super chic with cool retail items to check out while you wait. It's located right off the busy street of Santa Monica, but when you walk in you forget about the chaos outside and feel so welcomed by the environment. For those with attention issues, this place is as great as it appears, don't hesitate & book an appointment! Ok, for the rest of us detailed MF'ers... I have a foofy Pomeranian puppy that is 9 months old. I started taking him to my local groomer at 4 mos. to get him accustomed to grooming. His coat was going through the puppy stages and only required a wash, brush, blow dry, nails, anal glands, teeth appt for the last 4 months. My last visit to the local groomer was a nightmare. I learned he NEVER had his anal glands done & they refused to brush, & wanted to buzz cut his new coat. They had cut chunks out of his fur vs brushing. -After a 290$ vet bill for impacted anal glands, i set out to find a groomer. -Thinking I'm in LA & can surely find a Pomeranian specialist, I began to look... Nope. Not one salon specializing in these tiny, giant haired dogs! I finally stumbled across Dogue salon on Yelp. The pics had me sold! Clearly, they have a talent and this did not seem like other grooming places in town ( see those pics! ). I sent an appt request through Yelp on a weekend, received a response immediately and was set for the following weekend. Nervously, I dropped my dog off to the nicest lady & discussed grooming options with a man. He was confident in grooming options and let me know he'd scissor cut him into a "beautiful cloud", I dropped off at 11 and picked up by 130. His cut is adorable!! It is "cloud" perfect!!!
