Oh Dolan, you drive me CRAZY. You are like a well-heeled hooker, so pretty on the outside, but if you lift up her skirt - ugh... I've stopped by twice now for regularly scheduled lube maintenance. The first time it was suggested to me that I get a bunch of little things done, weird because the car, though used, was purchased just a few months prior and a number of those things were supposed to have been taken care of according to the final check list at purchase time. Then they tried to charge me for the lube, which should have been included in the warranty. And finally, I get to my car, and oooh, it's freshly washed, but the floor mats were MISSING. GAH. Another wait as they are tracked down and returned. Fast forward to the next time I need a lube. I arrive 10 minutes early before my appointment and I sit in amazement as I watch the car next to me - which pulled in after I did, and then the car BEHIND me, all are attended to while I am sitting in the front, ignored, for at least 10 more minutes. I finally flag someone down who apologizes. Then the same damn thing happens again. I get charged for the service that is supposed to be free and included and then I get into my car and once again, my mats are missing. At least this time they are IN the car, just tossed in the back. You take the time to wash my car, but you can't be bothered to replace the mats on the floor? I just don't get it. On the plus side, free Wifi, a TV screen where you can watch a soundless daytime talk show and a clean bathroom. read more

I specifically leased a brand new Toyota Rav 4 from this dealership after disappointing customer service in Carson City. I was happy with my purchase until a few months later when I was left stranded due to dead battery. The battery issue continued off and on until they "replaced" the battery. However, the battery issue continued so bad that I purchased jumper cables for when I needed them. Did they actually change my battery? I'm am not at all convinced. Yesterday the car wouldn't start for me again so I called Dolan Toyota for road service since I'm still under warranty. I was told by Danielle at customer service that Dolan of Reno doesn't service in Carson City. I told her that I wished someone had given me that info when I leased my car. I would of never given my business to them. I told her that her info just didn't seem right. To which she responded, "we don't service Carson because we have to take care of our customers here in Reno". Then, I asked to speak to a manager to confirm that, she laughed at me. I kept my cool and asked what was so funny about my situation. She said, "there are a lot of people in the office". I told her that I still couldn't find any humor in any of that. And there's more. This is just too much disrespect and unprofessionalism for me to finish at the moment but I will finish my review. Long story short, I'm still stranded a day later without any results. Matt Ortero the manager is supposedly taking care of situation we shall see. Cont' There is this number when it all fails 1 (800) 331-4331.. problem is, when I was on the line with them yesterday while getting set up with towing service, call was disconnected and nobody called me back. I called them back but by now it was 6 pm and apparently after hours so it goes to an answering service. Matt's suggestion was that I call that same 1-800 number again. SMH...I called and was on hold twice, 36 min and 24 min. After 2nd attempt Anthony set up towing for me. I got a follow up call from Matt asking if anyone had come to help me. I told him Northshore Towing had taken car to his dealership, he said he'd follow up again. Later I received a call from one of their customer service specialists offering to take care of any expenses I may have accrued for towing. To just give them a call. Battery was replaced, I sent my husband to pick up car, the hood popped open on freeway! I just can't anymore.... What the heck is going on with that branch??? read more

Wow! After having a terrible experience with Dolan last time I was here we decided to give them another chance. Highly regret our decision now. We had an "appointment" at 8:30 to have our brakes replaced. Didn't receive a diagnostic call until 1:30pm and the job wasn't even done until 5pm. My husband took a day off to get this done and in the end, I had to leave my work early so I can make it in time to pick up my daughter from daycare that closed at 5:30 (which my husband wouldn't have been able to make from Kietzke). To make matters worse, we had asked to speak to Peter the SERVICE MANAGER. he called my husband while he was en route to the dealership and told him he'd discuss further details with him once he got to the dealership (this phone call happened around 5:17pm) and once my husband got there, Peter was nowhere to be found and had already left! What a way to uphold your quality of service and to be the actual MANAGER and leave a customer hanging. What a joke this entire place is. Our service advisor, James, was actually a true professional and deserves a raise or recognition for the way he handled this situation. I want a phone call from someone above Peter because he clearly doesn't care about his customers. I have had my brakes replaced before on my other vehicle, a 4Runner, in Kirkland, WA and it only took 3-4 hrs max!!!! How can you tell me you need an entire day to get my rav4's brakes replaced?! So another review where I am not sure how to rate it. That what happens when you have an ambivalent attitude about car repair. They have done a pretty good job of keeping our 13 year old Toyota running. Their shop, at least the part the customers get to see, is clean and well maintained. The staff are professional and pleasant to deal with and make an effort to help the customer informed on what is needed and why. The waiting area is relatively comfortable and clean with free WiFi. The process for making an appointment seems a bit convoluted. The phone system requires a number of steps to get to whom you need to talk. It also seems that when you buy replacement tires it involves dealing with two different departments. The entrance to the maintenance is a bit confusing. I always seem to end up in front of the wrong door to get my car in. They also seem to have difficulty with the computerized appointment system. For my last appointment the time on their end did not match what I had on my confirmation. It was not a huge issue, just it seemed a bit inefficient. They also seem to have difficulty with matching the cell number and email goes with the person who brings it in. I brought the vehicle in the last time, gave them both my cell and email, and they still contacted my husband for the appointment. Again, not a big issue, but it is a minor irritation. They keep my car running, they do not treat me like an idiot, and they have free wifi. I will keep coming back. read more

They said they are not commissioned based but they push a lot products that you don't need as well as cars out side of budget. This was my first experience with a dealership and it was horrible. They made me feel like I couldn't make decisions with out my husband just because I am a women. Also it took them more then 4 hours to do the paperwork, note that they charge $499 to this paperwork. I fell like they do it to make you tired and you end up getting all the extra stuff they offer. they push it till the end. Also they said that stargard is mandatory and gets added to your bill, I told them that I didn't wanted and they said It was mandatory. after doing my research and talking to a lawyer I find out is not mandatory. Of all the people that I deal with only one ask me what was my budget and respected that. All the other ones didn't care about my budget at all. They kept pushing for a loan or to use all of my savings. It's horrible I shouldn't have gone there. I felt like I was discriminated and abused I found out that other Toyota' s don't add any of the extra things unless you wanted them. the stargard is a gps they installed and then they charge it to you $699.00. They shouldn't install it on the car in till you say yes. Had an appointment to drive a specific model car a couple weeks ago. Get up there and was told they had sold that car, but I could test drive another model which I did. Liked the car and wanted to move forward with my preferred model. There is a nice inventive on the 2020 models, which I prefer, but I was told they couldn't find another one. They said they would call me if any came in, but I would most likely have wait for the 2021 models to come in later in the year. Checked their website yesterday, and low and behold, they are advertising several of the 2020 models, I am interested in, as being on the lot. I think they flat out lied to me to get me to wait for the 2021, so they would make more money. To bad as they would have had a cash sale, that day, if they had been honest. I would have preferred to keep my money local, but am now doing business with a toyota dealer in California. Went in for an oil change on my 2017 tundra. First off, the price was a little over $200, which is a tad ridiculous for an oil change and tire rotation only. The previous dealer oil change and rotation I had in California was $117 for the exact same service. More importantly, however, was the negligence the mechanic demonstrated by failing to secure my drain plug after changing the oil. The plug was not even hand tightened! Had I driven more than a couple miles it would have likely fallen out and potentially seized my engine. I got down there and tightened it up and stopped the massive leak pictured below. Over a week ago I received a recall notice from Toyota for my 2020 Toyota Tundra. I immediately called Dolan Toyota to schedule an appointment for the recall. I was given an appointment for 9/24 @ 0900. I asked how long the recall repair would take as this is one of my days off work. I was told "no more than two hours". When I arrived at Dolan Toyota and went to check in my vehicle, I was told that I would need to leave it all day. I explained that I have an appointment for 0900. The "service advisor" told me that he would get a service manager. He brought someone over who said that I needed to leave it all day. What they didn't know was that I had checked with Toyota Customer Service and was told the repair was .5 hours (30 minutes). The "service manager" said he would check to see how many vehicles were ahead of me. He came back and said that there were ten(10) Tundras ahead of me. When I explained that I had an appointment for 0900, I was told that this was to meet with a "service advisor". I explained that I had other things to do on my day off than spend it at Toyota waiting for a 30 minute recall repair. He then said he could maybe get it done by 2:00 PM. I told him to forget it and left. I called Toyota customer service and explained what had happened. They took down all of the information and said that a customer service rep from Dolan Toyota would contact me by 7:00 PM (CST) today. We will see. read more

Drove round trip 160 miles to have my first 5,000 service done on my new 2022 Tacoma. My rear bumper is out of alignment so much so the lady assistant manager in service commented that it was one of the worst she has seen. I later read that this is a frequent problem with Toyota trucks. So much so that you can go online and see tons of dissatisfied customers regarding out of alignment rear bumpers. You would think Toyota would Remedy this issue or at least give the dealerships a way to quickly fix it. While I didn't purchase my truck from Dolan Toyota, I picked them for servicing because I thought a large dealership probably has seen these issues and could fix it quicker than a smaller dealership. I expected it to be fixed. Instead they took time to go around their lot taking pictures of other Toyotas' rear bumpers out of alignment. By the way, none were as bad as mine. This is my fifth attempt to reach Dolan Toyota. I have few complaints. 1) My EDRS would be delivered to me through my mail was what they told. I had to call them thrice before I got my EDRS form. They were not ready to fax it to the DMV office either even after an officer from DMV office requested to do so. That too I had to travel from Sparks to the showroom to get that. Customer service was not good. 2) In my form ( I am not sure about the form name), it's like the odometer had 9 miles when they delivered the car to me. But the actual odometer was somewhere around 54 miles. Can anyone give me an explanation for this? 2) No one in the showroom informed me about the Toyota remote connect and WiFi hot spot. I still have issues in that. I tried contacting them but no one cared to at least give the basic information. If I call the main line, they just transfer the call to someone else to whom I had to leave a voice message. Till now no one called me back. The subscription to those services are free only for 6 months from the date of purchase it seems. I have already past one and half months. So yesterday I called to inquire about a 2006 Toyota highlander over the phone. We are a new family of 4 and we need a car that can accommodate our car seats without breaking the bank. So this highlander was on sale online for roughly $9,000, that's perfect we thought. We have the cash, no car payment and a roomy not too old vehicle for us. I called, and the guy scheduled an appointment for the next day since it was already night time for us and the babies were fussy.12p (my appointment) rolls up and I was excited because, I thought we had found the perfect vehicle. Dolan is also a reputable dealership, the highlander had very low miles. its a win win! Wrong! when i showed up to my appointment, i was no where to be found in their appointment books... the guy who was helping i think his name was Stevie, said no worries lets see the car. He went and spoke with Trevor, who i spoke to yesterday. and said that he had already had a guy pay a $500 "hold" deposit to see the car. he said that the vehicle was in the Lexus lot and was going to be brought at 3pm when the guy came to see it. he asked me if i was offer to put a holding deposit on the vehicle and i said no, that was never mentioned. so he wanted to show me other vehicles and i said no. My husband left work to come and look at the car. I told Stevie to call me at 3pm if the sale fell through. I called just 30 minutes ago (i just came back from the dealership) and i spoke to a Viri German and inquired about the vehicle and she said it was available to view. i made an appointment for 2pm to look at the vehicle and she NEVER mentioned a hold deposit. i asked her several times, "i will be able to view the vehicle when i get there right?" and she said again and again, yeah its available to view. Dolan Toyota performed all the maintenance on my 2021 Tundra until recently as this service is no longer free. I decided to do my own oil change and when attempting to do so I found it difficult to remove the filter housing plug with a standard ratchet. I switched to my torque wrench as it is longer, but the housing plug still wouldn't move. I increased the torque value incrementally until the plug broke free. It was set to 80ft-lb to get it to move! The torque spec for this plug is just 9ft-lb! I then went to remove the filter housing, and I simply couldn't get it to turn with my torque wrench (at any setting) so I had to use my impact wrench to get it to come off. The torque spec on this part is only 18ft-lb! Getting the housing off in this way damaged it and it was leaking after install so I needed to replace it. This means someone at Dolan Toyota used an impact wrench to install parts that should have very little torque on them. What an absolutely shameful practice for a "professional" mechanic shop. This is the second time Dolan Toyota Service has failed on this same vehicle. The first was when they installed a factory tonneau cover. It was not positioned correctly and off about an inch in the long axis. This means it didn't close properly, look correct, and leaked very badly. They did fix it but the fact that it went out without being inspected is pretty embarrassing. I will never take any vehicle to Dolan Toyota again. read more

I had an appointment to have my oil change set for 2:30pm. The employee who checked me in was nice and she gave me an estimated time for it to be done at 4:45pm. I had stayed in the lobby waiting for my car to be finished. When that time came, I decided to be patient. I felt that if I waited just a couple more minutes it would be done, I just had to be patient. I evened contacted the service associate assigned to me for an update; nothing. My car wasn't finished until 6:30pm, and no associate updated me or checked in on me until I was standing near the service area. I distinctly hearing an associate ask another one, " She's still here?!" and me being the only female in the service area, I knew he was talking about me. Maybe it's my fault for not waiting closer to the service area but it shouldn't take me getting closer to be checked in on. Mr. Luna was very helpful in making it a smooth and quick check out for me. He said my car was finished and that he would get it out for me. By the time I finished paying, I still had to wait for my car to be brought out. I've come here for my oil changes before and I've never had it like this. It was frustrating expecting to be out in 2 hours instead of 4 and having to stress about the time. I wonder if I had continued waiting away from the service area if they would have assumed I would pick up my car in the morning. read more

He couldn't answer my question but just kept saying the price on the paper and we have eyes to read. My mom was looking at replacing her tire for $150 or more. She called Toyota and asked them to help her since she thought the screw was from their dealership. They told her no they couldn't do anything. She emailed the Dolan family. She got a response within an hour and they called her to get her set up to bring her car in so they can fix it free of charge. I wish I would've gone here before buying my car elsewhere. I had a good experience with my truck buying at Dolan in May, 2016. Unfortunately I wasn't able to pick up my new truck right away as it had to be brought in from another dealership, but Dolan was pretty quick about getting it delivered to Reno (two weeks from another dealer vs up to 2 mos if I ordered from factory). Once the truck was on its way, the salesman I was working with, Jonathan Duarte (Bruno), was awesome about letting me know where it was, when it would arrive at the dealership, and even went out of his way to pick me up at work to come get the new truck. Bruno's customer service was outstanding. Unfortunately a mistake was made on the paperwork for the truck, which required I come back in and do it all again, so that was a drag. The staff made sure the new paperwork was all ready for me, but still a drag to have to come back in for that. All-in-all it was a good experience. read more

I write this review as a would-be Dolan Toyota customer denied the opportunity to join the "Dolan Family," to play the word game associated with companies out to deceive. I visited Dolan to test drive a 2020 Tacoma. The young salesman told me that I had to take the vehicle out alone given social distancing restrictions. He noted that the gas gauge showed the tank as empty and that it would take him some time to get a credit card to fill the tank. Since I was pressed for time, he suggested that I could probably make it around the block, which I did. When I returned, I asked him if he could quote the Costco price. He said he would get back to me in short order. As I exited the parking lot, I noticed another Tacoma that I was interested in, so I called him to ask if he could quote the Costco price on that vehicle also. Two days passed with no phone call, so I emailed the dealership to lodge a complaint. The next day I received a polite email from a woman named Joy Reyes, a member of the "Concierge Team." She expressed great concern about the treatment I had received and volunteered to quote me the Costco price on the aforementioned Tacoma. Two days have again passed with nary a word from Ms. Concierge--a slap in the face from two of Dolan's employees in less than a week. If they don't give Costco prices over the phone or via email, that's fine; just say so. If they don't want to deal with the Costco price for Tacomas given the fact that it's a hot seller, then just say so. I appreciate the economic realities of supply and demand, but I can't tolerate being lied to or ignored as an apparently common business practice. read more

My wife found a car that she really wanted and I couldn't go with her because I was working. She popped into Dolan and got great service from the salesman and got the car that she wanted at a good price. She paid cash and she had a great experience. I like that I can feel comfortable letting my wife go to a car lot and know that she wouldn't be taken advantage of and I feel that she got the best deal she could have gotten. My praise is for the after care that she got from this dealership. I don't have names and I apologize. She had a minor issue after she had the car a few days and even tho it was NOTHING that the dealership was responsible for and I told her not to bother calling them because it was on us, she called them. To my surprise they told her to bring the car back, gave her a loaner for the day and fixed the issue for free. Who does that? Apparently Dolan Does That (copywrited haha). The worst/non professional dealer ship I have ever encountered, I did an internet inquiry for someone to call me to set up an appointment to see a Tacoma cement color and I was contacted by Natalie pescan on 7/2/2020 she let me know that she only had one in stock and that was going through inspection and wouldn't be ready for my to view until 7/3/2020 Natalie schedule and appointment with me at 515pm I get there, she's not there ... a person name Wiett tries to assist me and says that they DO NOT have a cement color Tacoma only a black one , I was so upset how can a dealership so "well known" schedule an appoint and not have what I requested and also requested me to do a 500.00 deposit for them to hold it... This business is horrible at customer service. They continually overbook,underestimate wait time, and neglect to do what they promise to do. My recent service appointment was at 10:30. I was told an hour and a half to two hours so decided to just wait. Upon dropping off my car, they said they would need 4 1/2 hours. At this point I was stuck waiting so they said they would try to rush it. I took at least half of the labor off as I did not need it done at this time and my car was still returned almost five hours later. They didn't even begin working on the car until 3 hours into my appointment. The actual time they needed was less than two hours. They took no covid precautions as far as wiping down the interior and for at least the third time did not do the complimentary car wash. If they don't do they car wash how am I to know they did any of what they said? On a previous visit they left gunk all over my battery and the battery died within days even though battery check was one of the things I paid for.
