I bought a used Toyota from this dealership and I had an issue with my paint on the side of my door. I learned a good lesson from this issue but I will say this: we all make mistakes, and when I called the secretary of Mr. Tom Dolan hoping to reach a solution she referenced me as an irresponsible person...... that is way out of line. I must say the first time I came to this Toyota, I dealt with the service department and I was pretty unhappy with the way they treated me. However, the second time I came to Toyota I was buying a car and my sales guy was absolutely FANTASTIC! Felipe was not your normal annoying sales guy who pressures you into buying a car. He listened to what I wanted and made me feel extremely comfortable and made sure I understood everything he was saying and what was happening. He helped me move everything from my old car into my new one, and even lent me a pen so I could attempt to untie a tassel that had been hanging from my rear view mirror for 8 years. When I went back in a few days later to fix a scratch we found on the car he saw me and asked me how everything was and made sure I was still happy with my purchase. He even asked if my fiancé was mad that I just came home with a new car! He really listened. I would recommend him in a heartbeat. It doesn't help that I absolutely LOVE my new car!! read more

My wife and I did our research and decided on the type of van we wanted to purchase to accommodate our growing family (baby #2 on the way). We'd just finished paying off our Jeep through a credit union, and we went there first to get pre-approved for a loan. We told the credit union we planned to go to Dolan Toyota because we'd looked around online and found that they had exactly what we were looking for as long as the price could come down a little. As we were leaving the credit union, one of their employees gave us the name of someone at Dolan Toyota and insisted that we only talk to him. Initially that seemed awesome, but the guy ended up taking a long lunch, so we waited for quite a while. It was our fault though. More than one very friendly person checked in on us and tried to get a hold of the person we insisted on seeing. After a while of waiting and waiting for this other guy, we were introduced to someone else: Mickey. He asked if we knew what car we were looking for so while we waited he could at least pull it around for us so we could take a look at it. That seemed reasonable, as long as we talked numbers with the name we'd been given, we insisted. Mickey told us that he doesn't work on commission, so talking to someone else about the money would be fine with him. Mickey is the first reason I'm giving Dolan Toyota 5 stars. He made us feel welcome and comfortable. I never felt like he was trying to do anything other than help us get the car we wanted for the price we wanted. From the moment we met him, it was clear that taking care of us was his main priority if not the only thing he was working on. He was a bit embarrassed that when he found the car we were looking for, it was actually being used as a model for how to repair an upcoming recall on the automatic doors, and the flooring had been totally removed. He warned us, and then he took us out to show it to us. He explained what was going on and made us feel confident that if we chose to purchase the vehicle that it would be in tip-top shape. In the meantime, he took us over to test drive a newer model. We enjoyed driving around with him as he showed us all the bells and whistles. We even got to talking college athletics and learned that he played baseball at UCLA. He was very nice, very friendly, and very helpful. When we got back to the lot, he made sure we were comfortable and even offered to buy us something to eat. Then he made it his job to get us in touch with the person we insisted on seeing so we could talk figures. Mickey was finally able to get us into the guy's office, and he said his farewells. Long story short: there was no hookup. The man to whom we'd been referred didn't budge at all on the price, and quite frankly he seemed annoyed that we were even there talking to him. He started the conversation by telling us that he didn't work in sales anymore, that he was now on the finance side of things, so it'd been awhile since he'd done this kind of thing. We thought we were bypassing all the red tape and getting right in touch with a guy who could quickly bring the price down to where we felt more comfortable, but he was absolutely no help. We sat at a table in lobby totally dumbfounded, feeling like we were in danger of being taken if we didn't walk out the door. We were talking ourselves out of van we'd wanted to buy, and we were just about ready to leave and come up with another idea for what/when to buy, when our buddy Mickey came back over and introduced us to Danny from finance. Danny is the second reason I'm giving Dolan 5 stars. We expressed our disappointment and frustration over how we'd spent much of our afternoon. Danny offered to run some numbers to see what he could do if we chose to finance through Toyota. We told him what we were looking for, what we thought was fair, and he came back with a workable offer. He was able to drop the overall price of the vehicle, and since we have A+ credit ratings, he gave us the lowest possible interest rate, almost a full point lower than the best our credit union had offered. We gave him a tentative agreement pending a test drive of the actual vehicle the next day. Mickey gave us his card and told us to call or text with any questions or concerns. I texted Mickey with a question that evening, and he responded quickly. The next day he kept me updated on the status of the vehicle as it was being reassembled and detailed. We met him at the lot, and the first thing Mickey did was tell us that he was disappointed in the detail job they'd done and that he'd make sure we got another free detail if we decided to buy. After the test drive, we sat down with Danny to go over the paperwork, and he threw in some other discounts we hadn't even asked for. Allie sat with us in the car to go over how to use all its different technological functions. Big thank you to Mickey and Danny! We love our new van, and we feel we paid a fair price. read more

I had a great experience with Reno Toyota and Salesman Connor O'Day. I got a great used car with low miles. Connor did an excellent job of showing me options. I felt like the dealership worked with me and treated me with respect. They even took my trade which was not running and agreed to come get it. Brady Dolan worked on my deal. I was impressed to have an owner involved with my used car deal. I was glad to support a local business that gives back to the community. Chris Clark was my finance guy and he was great! I liked the overall atmosphere of the dealership. Just note that they are a dealership and they are in business to make money. Make sure you get the little things in writing. Please read this in it's entirety as they went above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction! I don't even know where to start here......I did buy a used 2003 4runner from these guys and I have to say I have felt uneasy about it ever since. When I went in the sales guy was nice and gave me everything I wanted, I am a single mom and can't afford a new car so I was specific in the fact that I wanted a used something. He made it sound like I got a deal of a lifetime and I was happy with my choice, but then came the finance guy. Not exactly the warm and fuzzy type.....sign here initial here as fast as you can you are in my way I just want to go home is what I got from him. I asked about the timing belt, according to the owner's manual it should have been done at 90,000 miles (this car was at 97,000 miles when I bought it) oh that isn't something we do....after I have signed all the paperwork. He said that if I took it to the dealership they would work with me on the price. Well that is so not the case at all! This was my first car purchase and I have to say I now know what NOT to do. I never should have purchased the 4runner if the timing belt wasn't changed, that was my bad. I have a feeling that these guys knew that and took advantage of me in that way. I am know stuck with a huge bill after just buying my 4runner, thanks Dolan......the family owned dealership......don't make me laugh! So I have to add this.......an hour after I posted this there was the response from Dolan. I gave them my information and the called me soon after I emailed them back. I first spoke with Jeremy who simply wanted to know what had happened, after I explained what all went on he told me he was very sorry for any miscommunication and that he would be more than happy to see what he could to rectify the situation, I agreed and gave him my vehicle's info so he could look into it. I then received a call from Ken, he explained to me that they would not only change out my timing belt, but also do the water pump and inspect a few other little things that I had wanted looked at NO CHARGE to me!!! They also gave me a rental car, a 2015 Highlander! I couldn't be more pleased with the way they went above and beyond for me to fix this. Take advantage of older people. I read several accounts of older people being bamboozled. I recently bought a nice used car from Dolan Toyota Scion in Reno, NV. Before anyone buys a car at their dealership they must be on guard when it comes to signing all the pages of stipulations and inserts. You may find huge charges added to your contract. I had over $3,000 added to mine that I never agreed to. Specifically, in my case, the DOC fee of $500. That is a fee they charge for doing the paperwork. The sticker price did not mention a DOC fee. Next, a Gap fee of $900. What the h--- is a GAP fee? That is a fee paid to the dealership that allegedly protects you if you total your car is in an accident and the insurance company only pays the wholesale value of your car. A gap fee is ridiculous because to get a loan you must have FULL COVEERAGE by your insurance company. How many cars have you completely totaled in your life? 99.999999% of people have never totaled a car. I'm 73 years old and have never had an auto accident, PERIOD. Beware of the outlandish "anti-theft stencil" placed on your windshield for which you are charged about $200. It was explained that if the car is stolen and taken to a chop shop the Police could look at the windows and determine it was your car. This stupid ploy should be outlawed in Nevada. No cop anywhere on earth is going to dig around in a chop yard looking for nearly invisible stencils on a windshield. You have full insurance coverage anyway. Why should you throw away $200 for an anti-theft scam? If the ant-theft stencil was a legitimate practice, then all manufactures would have added it while in production. Vehicles have the VIN number stamped on the vehicle in several places such as in Front of the engine block. AND in Front of the car frame, near the container that holds windshield washer fluid. AND In the Rear wheel well. AND Inside the driver-side doorjamb. AND The Driver-side doorpost. AND Underneath the spare tire. Google the "CAR SCAM OF THE DECADE - DEALER WINDOW ETCH THEFT for details. I will file a complaint with the County Attorney if I am not refunded for that scam charge. Next scam, a high interest rate on a loan. I told the document closer that I already had credit at my Credit Union, but if he found a lower interest rate among his list of lenders, I'd go with them. After the papers were ready to sign, he showed to me a loan form with an interest rate of 4.99%. I asked him who the loan was with. He said he did not know yet. He just ran my credit score and it came out to 4.99% interest. Next, he said my car would be "Detailed" while we were signing documents. I take the meaning of "detailed" to be cleaning it inside and out. The vehicle was not detailed. The door jams were covered in dust. The floors had some type of food crumbs. The rear cup holder had a drink spilled on it. After going to my Credit Union I discovered that Dolan Toyota had not contacted them as I requested. Furthermore, the interest from my Credit Union was only 2.99% or 2% less than the dealer's loan. Over of period of 60 months that extra 2% would generate a large cash flow. Extended Coverage charge was added for $2,500. That would pay for limited repairs that were out of the manufacturing warranty. The exclusions were so long that I could not determine if it covered any repair charge at all. My credit Union provided the extended coverage to me for a thousand dollars LESS and it covered EVERYTHING and for a longer period of time, including mechanical and electronic, and the computers! If you buy a car at Dolan Toyota give the salesperson a copy of this review and demand that you shall not be charged for a GAP fee, A DOC Fee, Window Stenciling, Extended Coverage, or high priced financing. Get it through your CU or Bank. read more

I work in California and live in Reno. I normally have my car serviced at Maita Toyota in Sacramento but since last Monday was my 'drive in' day and it was the 4th of July, Maita was closed. Yesterday morning I decided that since I was 500 miles over my due mileage for that oil change, I would give Dolan Toyota Scion a chance. I drove in and waited by my truck and eventually a young lady came out and checked my mileage and took me back to her desk. She quoted me $127 for an oil change and tire rotation. I told her that Maita does it for $82. I was going to leave but I turned and discovered my truck was gone. They had driven it off some where! The young lady assured me that she would call Maita and price check and match it. Ok, I let them change my oil but to be sure, I called Maita and had them check my service records. As I recalled, my bill for the same service, oil change and tire rotation was $82 - $90 depending on how much oil they put in it. (takes 7.9 Quarts) So, I waited... and waited. 3 and a half hours I waited. Then, finally, the young lady calls me and says it is done. Wow. According to her, she called Maita (remember, so did I) and the oil change was $122! I will not be returning and you shouldn't go there either. I will continue to go to Maita and if I have to, I'll drive all the way down to Carson City if I need to use a more local dealer in the future. I called the service manager and I haven't even been given the respect of a return call. read more

Took a 2013 4Runner in for 60K service. Not only did they not listen to my wife and wrote the order incorrectly, they failed to properly install the oil filter. So in the morning I had a nice puddle of oil under the car. This is the second time (and last) that I will go to have a car serviced here. I was polled after the service and the lady on the phone took my complaint and said a manager would contact me. Well, that didn't happen not upon their initiation nor in response to my request. After having visited many used car lots in Reno I was certain I'd never find a decent car at a price I could afford. I decided, after having terrible experiences and being lied to at every other dealership to try Toyota because I'd seen a Mitsubishi Eclipse I could afford. The car had been sold, but they took the time to listen to my needs and price range. They were the only dealership who did. They found me a wonderful Camry in my price range, and worked with my budget to get me monthly payments I could afford. They detailed my car for me, gave me brand new tires and breaks, and included a year's free maintenance. The representative who helped me through this process, Jeff, is also probably one of the most attentive, genuinely caring people I've ever met in the customer service industry. He's followed up every step of the way, and called me with a surprise- a spare key was brought in! When neither of the nearby Honda Dealers had time to work on our 2006 Odyssey, we called Dolan Toyota and got an appointment for 20 minutes after we called. Dustin, our service advisor, was friendly and professional, and very attentive to our needs. Within twenty minutes, they had verified what we already suspected, that our Starter was failing. It was already approaching 2 PM, but Dustin committed to getting us out that afternoon. Within 2 1/2 hours, we had a new starter, a freshly washed vehicle, and a fair price to complete the job. Here are some of my observations: 1. Taylor, the salesman who helped me, was awesome. He's not on commission, so he didn't push me to buy anything. He really was there to help me. He listened to my wants/needs, and helped me find the right vehicle and the right terms. 2. Dolan offered many purchasing and leasing options, and one of the leasing options was perfect for me. 3. I received a very fair trade-in value for my old vehicle. 4. The finance man who helped me later realized that I could be entitled to money back on the deal. He re-wrote the lease agreement, and I soon received a check for about $900. 5. My experience was hassle free and actually pleasant from beginning to end. We looked on the Internet last night, early this morning and found our car. It was what we wanted, and I put out a call to test drive early on Saturday morning. When we arrived, the place was hopping with business, I ask for the Internet Manger that had contacted us, and they soon brought up a gentleman by the name of Brian Bough. Right away Brian treated us with respect and dignity. We told him what we wanted, and he said, let's go find it. And searching for quite sometime we found the car in the back of building waiting for us, we told Brian we had some financial trouble, but if they wanted to make a deal today, we were ready. But knowing them now the way I do I would take the time to come here anyway! The service and customer service is excellent! I'm always greeted with such warm and happy employees, which says lots! It's easy to make an appointment and my car is always ready in exceptional time with exceptional work completed, I have never had to bring my car back after having it serviced here. The dealership is beautiful and easy to wait at if I want to while my car is being serviced or the courtesy van is always there to drop me anywhere in Reno I would want to go and then happy to pick me back up when my car is ready with a very friendly greeting. Have spent nothing short of $8000 plus in maintenance @ Dolan Toyota in the last ten years. Although I do believe their 'service' is at least acceptable, the time it takes to perform minor maintenance is not. Make an appointment for an oil change and you are lucky to be out of there in less than two hours. Most distressing, their service prices have gotten exponentially higher in the last couple of years. A synthetic oil change for my 2006 Tundra used to be $79. There was an increase in the last year or so that I don't recall, but I just went there a week ago (12/31/18) and the same oil/change maintenance was $146. An 85% increase in less than a couple of years. This is outrageous. I told them I'm never coming back...totally unaffordable. To make matters worse, at the same time I was provided an estimate for a damaged strut. the estimate included two front control arms, two struts and an alignment...$3,020. Two other auto shops have since given me estimates for the same work...$1780 and $1920. Wow, I guess they really have to pay for that Taj Mahal dealership they built. Too bad for them, I'm never going back. read more

That' JUSTIN is just trying to be an ass and rip me off so he can make more commission. Another reason why I will not go back here. I'll drive down to Carson City. Unless of course they are another "Dolan" dealership. In which case, I'll take my business elsewhere. I made a phone call to schedule the service on my vehicle. After being transferred around multiple times because NOONE seemed to want to do it... I finally got to Justin in service. He seemed inconvenienced to even have to help me. I had questions about the next service needed on my vehicle and pricing as I do not have a service package. He priced the next service on my vehicle at around $800 and told me "it is what it is" and came off with an attitude like "it's just pocket change". Then went to transfer me AGAIN to have someone else make the appointment. I hung up. I've only been here once before for an oil change. I don't think I will be going ever again for any services on my vehicle. I think I'll take my business down to Carson City or maybe over to Hyundai in town where I've had nothing but great experiences with and am treated nicely....not like a huge pain to answer questions for or help. They are ALWAYS happy too. You may do that job everyday in service... but obviously for us it isn't something we have to take care of everyday. So we don't know the next step needed to keep our car running. Also as a woman, I don't have mechanical knowledge of a car. AND as a single parent I have to plan ahead when making purchases like most Americans. An $800 service is a big deal, don't treat it like it shouldn't be and like everyone has that cash to drop in an instant. Some of us have to plan for things like this. read more

I have been thinking about purchasing a new truck for too long. Been into Dolan Toyota several times looking at new Tundra trucks over the last year. The sales staff was always friendly and offered me a fresh cup of coffee. Finally sat down with Jeremy and ordered a brand new 2017 Tundra in the new quicksand color. Very happy with my new truck and the whole purchase experience. Jeremy was very patient with me and made sure I got everything I wanted- I never felt pressured. When I finally picked up the truck last week a very nice lady went over every feature of my truck and hooked up my iPhone and explained how the remote starter worked along with all the gizmos. Very happy with my experience at Dolan Toyota. I was surprised as one of the owners, Brady, came over and personally thanked me for my business- its nice to know the owner is "hands-on" and overseeing all the small stuff. read more

Absolutely terrible place to go to if you want to buy a new vehicle I suggest to go else where. Salesman was nice but financing managers were terrible. My wife and I already had all the paper work signed and we're about to drive off the lot but decided to back out due to the terrible unprofessional financing managers (Craig was one, don't remember the second ones name) don't buy here unless you wanna get ripped off and treated like trash read more
