    Dry Pot

Love Dolan and have been here before for an event. Also have tried Va location. This review is for to go order. From ordering to pick up, everything seamless and one who took order and who checked me out were so friendly. We love love everything, korma chop of course a must order always, got that w/ beef, Mongolian beef, lamb kabob, dry pot and can't forget honey cake! I actually wanted Dubai choc cheesecake but they didn't have it. But now onto my dry pot, my disappointment was I only found 2 shrimps in it... plus side a lot of beef and meat/fishballs just not expected 2 shrimps for the big portion. Though it's very tasty, So maybe next time I'll order korma chop w/ shrimp instead to get more hehe. As I mentioned this is for to go, but Dolan Rockville location also has beautiful indoor settings, clean spacious and definitely you'd like to dine in .

Wow, the interior looks so elegant and clean! The food is delicious. I really enjoyed the korma chop which tastes like a chewier udon stir fry (in a good way). I did mild spicy and it had a little kick. The beef noodle soup was more so on the bland side, so I probably wouldn't get it again. The Dubai magnolia was pretty good, but you can tell the katafi has been sitting since it isn't crispy. The service was also good. Our waiter came over a few times to check on us. Parking in the garage is free for 1.5 hour.

Food was gorgeously set and presented each time by waitress. I appreciate the service for my friend's birthday last night. I like the ambiance. The light fixtures and chairs and tables with turntables made of marble were marvelously epically shown. I love my experience here and will return with my husband next time.

I've never had Turkish food before. There is a restaurant that has Turkish food in Rockville. They invited me out to try some...I almost immediately pulled up!! Let's GO be different!! . Where I am: @dolan_dc . Location Reviewed: 20 Unit A. Maryland Ave, Rockville M.D. . Items Reviewed: STAMP!! Their Sigara Boregi ($9.95 crispy rolls with a herby cheese filling, parsley, & dip). Flaky, & crisp with a dense but flavorful cheese, with a dip that taste like tzatziki sauce!! LIKE THAT! Their Beef Burger ($10.95 with ground beef, onions, & peppers in a spicy red sauce). Mildly spicy, beefy, different tasting...like a mild curry taste!! DELICIOUS. Their Samsa ($4.95 an oven baked sesame oil drizzled pastry with minced lamb, & beef, black peppers, & red peppers). Good, I just needed a tad bit more flavor to this one. STAMP!! Their Shrimp Fried Rice ($22.95 fried rice with tail on shrimp, peppers, & green onions). Some of the BEST shrimp fried rice I've had!! There was a sweet'ish sauce on it, & besides the tail being on the shrimp, they were meaty & well cooked!! STAMP!! Their Kebabs ($6.95 each for a cumin & house spiced chicken, & lamb kebab). Fairly spicy, smoky, meaty, & tasty!! A must try!! STAMP!! Their Beef Pepper Steak ($22.95 with beef, red, & green peppers, onion, & white rice). STAMP!! Their Urmchi Sunset ($6.95 a Shirley Temple type of drink). It's orange, grapefruit, & lemon/lime bubbles in this!! . Customer Service: On Point . Parking: Decent. . Recommendations: Get what I STAMPED!! . Accessibility: It's wheelchair friendly, & it's differently abled persons friendly. 5 Stars=STAMP 4 1/2 Stars=LIKE THAT 4 Stars=DELICIOUS 3 Stars=DECENT 2 Stars=PASS 1 Star=NAH #Bigschlimsreviews

Met friends for lunch at Dolan Uyghur for a friends birthday. It was my second time trying Uyghur cuisine. The restaurant interior is quite lovely! The standout dishes were the sigara boregi appetizer and the korma chop entree. The noodles were freshly made and tasted great! I look forward to coming back to try the dinner buffet!

I came to this location and was surprised to see that the restaurant had changed (previously it was another Asian spot). We decided to dine in regardless and were really impressed with the variety! All the dishes were flavorful and filling. I really love the interior decor as I've been many different versions of this space. Our waitress was extremely nice and I plan to come back. FYI -- no liquor license at the moment.

I have been to the Dolan Uyghur in DC and loved it! I was excited to see that they opened up one in Rockville. The restaurant is really nice and bright. Filled with Turkish lamp chandeliers and beautiful ceramic plates around the restaurant. We were promptly seated. The service is slightly slow, but appreciative as the meal didn't feel rushed. The food, everything was delicious. I loved the samsa and korma chop very much. The royal laghman had long chewy noodles which were great. The Mongolian beef was delicious as well, full of flavor and perfect level of heat! Well worth checking it out!

I was excited to try this fairly new business in Rockville. The menu looked exciting with a mix of Mediterranean, Indian, and Chinese influenced cuisines. I also like that there was a vegetarian section on the menu to make navigating the options as a vegan easier. I met up my friend for dinner there for girl's night. This business has the exact vibe we wanted for a girl's night on the town. I also want to come back for a date night. The interior decor is elevated with a beautiful chandelier. It is also pretty quiet inside so you can easily talk with a friend or date. I did see a small family dine in; however, I will keep my 2-year-old daughter at home for now. Our server was so sweet and attentive. She answered all my menu questions and helped us pick some vegan items to share. I saw rave reviews about the Dolan Chai, so my friend and I shared a pot of that. We also got dolma and spicy tofu. This tea was the best I ever had. It was sweet and a little floral. When you get the pot they will refill it with water as many times as you would like. My friend and I downed 2 pots of tea. It was the perfect complement to our meal, and I will most likely order it every time I visit. The dolma is vegan without modification and delicious! I love that the presentation was lovely with the lemon slices and bed of greens. The inside is filled with rice and was even a little creamy. The spicy tofu was incredible! We picked a mild spice level, and the savory flavors really came through. I saw previous reviews mentioning the food was bland. I highly recommend the spicy tofu if you want a punch of flavor. The sauce was so comforting, and I just about licked my plate clean. I would definitely order both of these menu items again; however, I also want to explore their other vegetarian dishes. Thanks for phenomenal service and being so vegan friendly. I cannot wait to come back to try more of the menu, and wish you the best of luck in Rockville!

My friend and I tried the new restaurant, Dolan Uyghur, in downtown Rockville. Its decor is nice and colorful. The service was polite. While most of the dishes we tried were surprisingly bland, the lamb kebab was a standout -- perfectly tender and flavorful.

Restaurant was beautifully decorated with deep blue walls and Silk Road style interior (lamp lights and decor). Staff was very welcoming. A nice dessert case was at the front near the door. Menu has many types of teas (didn't get this time). Food items had middle eastern and East Asian influences. Ordered samsas and lamb kebabs as appetizers to start. The samsas are flaky triangular pasties stuffed with ground beef and lamb. It was flavored very well. The lamb kebabs were very tender, juicy and had cumin and other spices detected. I had the spicy tofu entree and was able to have the spice level adjusted (milder side). Flavor was not compromised, very tasty with peppers, onions, red chili and garlic. My companion liked his beef pie entree as well. Great place!

    Chuchura

Came for dinner Saturday evening. The restaurant is decorated very nicely, is bright and welcoming. My partner and I shared several items. The good news is that the Samsa was well prepared and very meaty. Delicious pastry. The Chuchura (dumpling soup) was good, also, with a number of mini and tasty dumplings. The broth had a nice flavor. The entrees were the weak spot for me. We ordered Baby Bok-Choy with Garlic Sauce. It was pleasant, with a garlicky sauce, but not particularly memorable. The Uyghur Pilaf was well prepared, in that the rice absorbed the flavor from the beef, but the beef itself was not particularly flavorful and, again, the entree was pleasant, but not memorable. Pretty bland. The Pilaf dish came with a fresh vegetable salad in vinegar that was the highlight of the meal. For $23.95, that should not have been the highlight of the meal. It is possible that we ordered the wrong things. What can you expect from a Bol Choy with Garlic Sauce? That being said, I did expect more flavor from the meat in the Uyghur Pilaf and the whole meal was pretty dependent on the rice. For food alone, I might give the place a 4 star review, although that would be kind based on our experience. BUT, our water glasses were empty almost the entirety of our meal, despite the Staff walking by the table several times. I did call them over for water once and then never saw them again until we had been sitting at the table with empty plates for a full 15 minutes and they walked by twice and I was able to get their attention the second time for the check (see picture). Overall, not great. While we were there, people were seated at the table next to us and they immediately asked what hot sauces the restaurant had to offer at the table. I thought that was odd until we are our food. We may come again and try other items, but not sure.

New Dolan Restaurant in Old Rockville Location I've enjoyed Dolan before at their Friendship Heights at a Yelp Event. It was a fun event with friend, this time I was flying solo at their soft opening at the Rockville Town Center, their latest location. It's beautifully decorated and designed with gorgeous hanging colored lamps, painted this rich Mediterranean blue. The tables are set with fine silver wear, folk, spoon and chopsticks. The staff are very friendly, cheerful and a little inexperienced but time will improve that tiny detail. I initially ordered a samsa (like an Indian samosa but made with beef), pulled noodles and a lamb kabob. I only wanted a very light meal. After 15-20 minutes they came out and asked me about the noodles. Would I like them to add meat and vegetables. I was agreeable, not realizing it was an up charge. It went from $11 noodles dish to a $19 dish, needless to say, I was surprised when I received the check. Please remove the noodles dish IF you aren't not prepared to served it "as is" and as listed in the menu. I wish them much success and prosperity, I'm sure that in time they will work out the rough edges and everything will go more smoothly.

It's a pretty small spot with a simple menu -- mainly lamb and chicken gyros and bowls. I vaguely remember trying a bowl before, so this time I went with the gyro and ordered extra lamb and extra sauce. I assumed the sauce was going to be traditional tzatziki, but they actually make their own sauces and I honestly wasn't very impressed by them. To their credit and great service, they definitely did not skimp on the meat because they loaded the gyro up, but honestly I probably could've gone without the extra lamb. The whole thing ended up being super messy and hard to hold together, to the point where I eventually just ate it with a fork. Overall, the taste was just a miss for me and didn't satisfy the authentic gyro craving I was hoping for. I wanted to enjoy it way more than I actually did, but I'll probably pass on coming back.

This time around, we ordered pad thai, one dish with shrimp and one with beef, crabmeat fried rice, and the khao soy noodles. The khao soy was the perfect amount of spicy and the chicken pieces + fresh onions + crispy noodles added a nice texture to the richness of the broth. This order came literally 5 minutes after we placed it, with the rest of the food coming shortly after! Portions are reasonable - all of us managed to finish our plates and felt pretty content if not full. I would say this place has a fun, upbeat atmosphere with the colorful, graffiti walls. Flavors of both were good, the drunken noodles had a roasty flavor from I suspect using a big flame under a wok which was great. Kao soi flavor was strong, but the chicken was flavorless and a bit dry. I asked if I could get half veggies half tofu for the drunken noodles and was told it'd be an extra $2 which I thought was a bit ridiculous, at least they told me beforehand. I asked for spicy and it wasn't really that spicy. Good flavors all around though and decent portions. Pricing I guess was fine, ~$35 post-tax pre-tip. I didn't like that they have a lot of plastic and one-time use items - they gave us water in plastic cups, wooden one-time use chopsticks wrapped in plastic, paper plates if we wanted to share food I guess (I gave this back to them when they brought it over). Beautiful tiles, love the black-and-white, crisp,…read moreclean look, and new booths -- though I didn't try sitting in one yet, didn't think to as I was on a mission to get to all the Israeli restaurants around for and on Israel Independence Day, ha ha! (And yes! I succeeded!) The benches are a light, bright-looking wood. There are also regular tables for those who prefer that .... It's amazing how much spacious seating is packed into this little place! I wish the outside reflected the new, light beauty but I guess the treasure is only to be found by those who venture in .... As an Israeli-in-America, I appreciate the selection of Israeli drinks in the cooler, and of course the national snack of falafel! Some say they don't put fries in the pitas -- well, yeah! That's true! If you don't ask, you don't receive! I ask! I receive! I do sometimes find the sandwiches to be kind of messy, so I try to sometimes get less various salads and pickles and such so it's not completely overflowing -- because this place is GENEROUS! Of course, if you're not used to kosher food, you'll probably not understand that it does cost more because for one thing (out of many!), there has to always be an 'extra' person called a mashgiach (supervisor in Hebrew) who oversees everything to make sure it's all, well, kosher! Kosher meat is more expensive, too. And yeah, meat doesn't come with dairy! So that is not available. I heard someone asking if they had a cheeseburger and had to work to not crack up about it! I LOVE the grilled eggplant bits you can get put in -- they're special, not in the regular line up, right there at the end -- because not only do they add so much flavour and texture with so little bulk, but eggplant is one of those things I usually cannot eat because it hurts my oh-so-sensitive tongue, but this place makes it per-fect-ly, mmm ... ! So delicious! I enjoy both purple and green cabbage and carrots, but I don't like the flavour of the onions. That makes me sad, because I LOVE onions, but these ones have something on them that I don't like (looks like it's sumac -- which is ironic, because that's something that I normally love and use all the time!) and I end up picking out when I sometimes forget or get hopeful and just get them again anyway .... Actually, the onions are one of the few condiments here I do not like! The pickled beets are great -- and of course, great for your liver! They are cleansing, nutritious, and boost your Russian-ness, to boot! Or your Russian Jewishness, anyway .... I know that eating them makes my grandmother proud! The benefits of eating here are not and are also not like ones you can attain in just any regular restaurant, and it's here for people who want this kind of thing. It literally is a cornerstone, being on the corner and providing the things certain of us need -- Israeliness, Jewishness, kosherness, etc. It's too bad it suffers from bad reviews by people who don't understand or care. By the way, the work that goes into making all these salad items fresh every day is, let's just say, a LOT! I almost always get the falafel -- I used to get a platter, but it was too much for a meal so I switched back to the classic pita version and that's a perfect amount for me for a meal, plus I feel it's better for the environment because it comes packaged minimally in a little parchment paper rather than a recyclable aluminum plate with a non-recyclable aluminum-and-paper top. Truth be told, I could have trouble finishing writing this review because thinking of Oh Mama Grills' falafel is making me so hungry! I am really getting in the mood for some right now! Other things I eat from here regularly (and have for years): Israeli salad Moroccan (vegetarian) cigars Rice Other things I know are great by way of seeing the delight on my eating partner's face while consuming: Okay, I so I don't remember, but various meat things! Chicken, I think .... Things I don't love from Oh Mama Grill: Bean soup -- didn't have enough flavour for me .... Sabich. I dunno. Just didn't love it! It's hard to top falafel, in my opinion -- well, this falafel from this place, that is -- so I don't feel the need to explore the menu very much .... There aren't a whole lot of places (if any!) that offer such a variety of salads, pickles, and sauces! As an absolute pickle-lover who finds pickles and not just that but a variety of pickles a MUST for my diet, this place has it going on like no other! Update! Tried sitting on a bench at a booth! It's pretty hard, not super-comfortable, but doable -- however, a harder seat is better for your posture and health long-term! The falafel pita with toppings aplenty is so delicious, I am craving one right now ... and, in case you've ever tried some of the marinated types of vegetables here and found them too sour, I did too! Now, that is fixed. They are no longer so sour, and are therefore much more eminently edible! My eating partner agrees.

Since being sent into the office in Rockville I have driven past Oh Mama Grill every morning and…read moreafternoon and have thought about stopping for a visit. Well the day finally came when hubs was picking me up & we had time to kill before our evening plans. I had mentioned this place several times while driving past it & we decided to make a stop. It's basically a take out place with some fast food restaurant style booths. You place your order, you pay, and you wait for ur food to be prepped. Unfortunately this was a let down. His burger was sad, looked like someone had worked out their aggression on it. Seriously, I've never seen any burger & bun that flattened. It was my mistake, I was excited because of the description (it contained lamb) but wasn't anywhere close to the Greek burger we get in VA, I'm not sure it was even up the fast food level, although it was definitely in competition for flatness. My dish was composed a lot of very dry meat. I'm no longer considering a stop as I drive.
