My first post to this site and unfortunately it's not a good review. We went to Dolce Mamma Italian bar and grille. I went there several years ago and liked it so I suggested this restaurant to my brother for our night out. This was a total disappointment. First the waiter was definitely not a seasoned waiter. He must of been their bar tender just filling in until the true wait staff appeared. He did not smile once when talking with us. He was definitely not a welcoming soul. He did the bare minimum to serve us and was not happy to do so. We received our salads in quick time we didn't even eat half our salad when the soup arrived and within 2 minutes our entrees arrived. I did not finish my salad or have a bite of my soup. I packed the soup to go because the entree was sitting right next to me. The salad was fresh. After that it went downhill. I took the soup home so I didn't even taste that. My veal Bella was standard fare. Very little taste. The side of pasta was truly boiled noodles in unsalted water. Maybe a spoon of tasteless sauce on top. My husband got the bolognese which he loves but this dish was poorly made. It was not a true bolognese. It wasn't flavorful and had a strange spice added to it. Again the pasta seemed to be made in salt less water. It seemed more like Shepards pie from Braveheart than an Italian dish. The house wine was $14.58 for a blah house wine. The soup instead of salad was an additional $2.08. Then there was a service fee and 20% tip was automatically added to the bill and the tip was on the bill and the tax We are good tippers when we get great service but Our water definitely did not earn a 20% tip. We never were asked if we wanted another drink and our containers for take home were delivered while we were still eating. I will not be back for sure. So sad. read more

It was my first time eating there And my last. I ordered veal Marsala with Chili as a side dish. The Chili was the best part of the meal, but, when I took my 2nd spoon full the meal was put on my table so I ate the hot meal versus letting it get cold. The veal was like as tough as leather And as thin. The waiter said I would get string beans for a side vegetable but something else was on the plate which I do not eat. The second vegetable was thinly cut potatoes which were not freshly cooked and also hard as a rock. With the wind and cold outside I ordered coffee which tasted old and bitter. On top when I got my bill I was charged and up charge for the uneaten Chili and the waiter offered me salad or soup which he included the Chili. As I said before I will never go back. read more

Was there with some friends. Service was excellent and so was the food and portions are big enough you can get a second meal. Only problem was the side room we were in the acoustics were terrible because there was a large party there. Couldn't hear anyone in our party. Very annoying! read more

always drive by and wondered how the restaurant was. from the outside it looks like a fancy formal restaurant. finally decided to go and got dressed. it is a pizzeria. when our server arrived...he stood there staring at us. did not introduce himself just stood there waiting for us to speak. awkward. we placed our order (side orders of pasta) and received a huge bowl of pasta. again he just stared and said it must be an error but left us with the bowls. didnt bring the bread (we had to order bread) never shared the specials of the day. we got the bill paid and left. no one said goodbye or thanked us. what an awful experience. we will never be back. read more

This review will be all over the place good and bad. 4/25/2023 when we came in the place was about 1/3 full. We waited for awhile (girl behind the bar mouthed "sorry"). Finally a man approached us (bald headed probably in his 30's). Literally while were taking off her jackets he say what do you want to drink??? I said I had no idea what they had and might like to see a menu.... Sounds bad but seemed like he had just blown a line of something. He was antsy, talking fast and kept sniffing lol. As time wore on he seemed to settle down and talk at a normal speed. Appetizer-Dolce Momma Meatballs (The Marinara sauce seemed fresh, homemade and delicious. The meatballs themselves were plain, overcooked and boring.) Side salad-very small but typical in all aspects. Dinner-Large Veggie Pizza. Crust outstanding, Pizza great flavor only negative was it was a little to wet from the veggies, if they can figure it out it will be award winning. Do not eat there! Family member had been there a few years ago and got sick off the food. I thought I would give it a try. Got extremely sick once I went home. Within 2 hours of my meal spent the entire night in the bathroom if you know what I mean! Then I checked their food inspection history online, a little too late, and they are NOT clean, higher temperatures of food than there should be, dirty, unsanitary hand washing station. They are just dirty and 2 people getting sick at separate times, proves it. Warning for you all to not eat there so you all dont get sick like we did. Good luck. read more

Recently went for dinner. It was difficult to locate a full menu on line which included prices. The four of us ordered different items from the menu with a glass of house wine and one specialty cocktail. The food was tasty and plentiful but when the bill arrived, we were shocked to see that each small glass of wine cost $14.50! The martini cocktail cost $16.00! We felt we were taking advantage of and won't recommend to others or return. read more

We did not like this place at all on our first visit. We all ordered creamy things and disliked them. It's so close to our new home that we decided to give it a second chance. Glad we did. There are definitely items on the menu that I don't personally enjoy, but there are plenty of others that I do. This is a good restaurant. The ambience is nice. The service is friendly. There is a bit of a tv sports bar aspect to it, but not overwhelmingly so, if that's not your thing. Sometimes we eat in, there. We often get takeout and go pick up our food. read more

Great Italian food can be found here! Been back a number of times and it always satisfies. The pasta is fantastic as well as the veal and chicken dishes. Super fresh and we'll prepared, I haven't eaten anything here that I didn't love. They should offer a better variety of dressings for the salads but the ones they offer are good. The wait staff is very good and friendly. The bar is always a bit noisy but there is another room that is quite is you want. If you are looking for authentic Italian food, you can spend more money for the same dishes elsewhere but for my money Dolce Mamma can't be beat! read more

I like the food here. Price is just ok. Service is fine. Not a fancy place, more like an upscale pizza place with a bar. The bar is the problem. It is unbelievably loud in here. I mean it, you cannot hear the wait staff. You cannot hold a conversation. It's the bar patrons, who are right there in the dining area. We won't go back for this reason alone. read more

Recent visit this week. We were a party of 4 but this was the first time that I was there. Our server, Donovan, was excellent - what I ordered (spaghetti with meatballs) was decent but not great. The bowls that the spaghetti came in are too high. My suggestion would be to get rid of those bowls. It was pasta with meatballs. The pasta was fine (how can you screw up pasta anyway) but the meatballs were way disappointing. I expected them to taste homemade but they tasted more like generic meatballs - garlic knots were very good as well as the side Ceasar salad - This restaurant is one that adds a "processing charge" to your bill if you don't pay with cash. I didn't know that until I received the invoice and at the bottom it is indicated that you save 4% if paying with cash and the bill already reflected the added "processing fee) for each item. Have only two separate numbers: one for cash and one for charge. As I said, I did not know this until I received the bill. There were no signs, at the entrance, that warned customers of this charge. I tend to stay away from places that do this. And I think 4% is too high. Customers shouldn't have to absorb the whole charge if a charge is added, which, in this case, seems to be 100% of the charge. The bill for 4 of us was $201 (before even a tip). Who walks around with over $200 in their wallet/purse? read more

It's an okay Italian restaurant. We had antipasto for appetizer and it was quite good. I like that the entree came with garlic knots and a small salad. Both were good, especially the garlic knots, delicious. My entree was chicken marsala. It was way too salty. And it weird that the entree comes with "chef's choice of starch," which was a couple of small sliced-up potatoes (it's so small, like a quarter of a potato) and an over-boiled broccoli (10 minutes boiled or more lol). Weird combo! I didn't enjoy the entree at all. Maybe some other things are good on the menu, but definitely not the chicken Marsala. The service was rushed, cos it was July 3rd and busy. The ambience is okay, a little cold with the cranked up AC. Overall the place is okay, but I don't think I'll come back! read more

My son and I would go here for lunch and dinner with his girlfriend, or alone several times a year. The last two times the service and food quality has been horrible. I have a tomato allergy and therefore always ask how the dishes are prepared and the ingredients in the dishes to ensure I am able to eat it. We went there for dinner yesterday July 12, 2025. I wanted to order the Salmon Puttanesca entree, and was was told no that it could not be modified because they would have to make the whole dish from scratch as it's pre-made and the tomatoes could not ne removed. I opted to order The special Salmon Basil with white wine sauce. Minus the Basil add Garlic. Since this was a special of the day , it came with mashed potatoes and the vegetable of the day was green beans. I asked about how the green beans were prepared, the waitress checked and as suspected it had a tomato base. They didn't have any other vegetables other than broccoli so I opted for double potatoes. Typically when you order shortly after you get Garlic knots, I kept asking where were ours, I was told oh I forgot, 45 minutes in she brought out 3 very small Garlic knots that looked like a regular one cut in half. Our party had three people. I was shocked. My son and his girlfriend ordered a 16 inch pizza. They brought out the pizza without the stand that's Typically provided to help cut and serve the pizza which made it very difficult to cut and serve. My salmon came out and looked horrible, it looked like it was literally thrown on the plate and looked like slop, and ok course it had green beans which according to them had tomatoes. After the waitress serve the plate she said oh no wait you can't have tomatoes, I'm sorry let me take this back. I asked why did the dish look so unappealing. She said she didn't know. I said ask whomever prepared this if they would eat a dish that looks like this? A couple of minutes later a big guy from the kitchen comes out and approaches me to say hey your plate looks like that because as I was taking your salmon out of the pan it broke and fell apart. He tried to be intimidating and tough all I said was OK. I was so upset I wanted to cry. At no pint did the manager come out to apologize for any of the inconveniences or poor service. We will not be returning to this restaurant and will definitely pass our experience along to everyone , to save them from experiencing what we went through. Ironically the last time we went there we had another bad experience. I ordered a cheesesteak and it had so much pepper in it I was unable to enjoy it. The menu never said it was prepared with peppers. When I asked the waitress she said no it shouldn't then the cook came out to say I seasoned it to taste good, how could you know what it tastes like if you're not eating it. I asked for the cheesesteak to be remade and they seem bothered. Also no apologies. We use to go there all the time, we never had any issues. Im not sure if there are new cooks or new management, but the service and food has significantly decreased. We will not be returning and I would suggest others not go there unless you want poor customer service and badly prepared and presentable food. read more

I get that theres a staff crisis here, but they had more than enough staff. Giving a bad review nowadays requires an exceptionally poor experience. This is one of them. This place is like a used car dealership with 0 empathy when they literally mess everything up. They place $150 bottles of wine on the table and pester you to buy them. When you say no, they leave it there the entire time which cramps your already limited table space. Meanwhile, your drinks come in pizza shop plastic coke cups. This place is not fancy... Ownership is clearly an issue because the waiter said that the owner would "chop his head off" if he did a simple substitution for my meal. Poorly owned and poorly staffed. It's a shame because I wanted to like the place. Oh and that same waiter spilled a cup of HOT coffee on our guest and just said that it's the tables fault for being too big. Lastly, he literally threw the staws and desert spoons at each and every one of our party of 25. Think about that. Thought I was on a prank show. This place is a train wreck. read more

there's not a Zero star review allowed but here we go: we went out to this place, for the 3rd time, and we will never go again. Gianna is the only employee who actually has the customer service skills needed to serve the public. Anyone else, including the owner, have customer service skills ? Absolutely NOT! 3 women sat down for dinner and ordered drinks and we ordered 2 meals. We ordered linguine with clam sauce and an order of shrimp scampi. We were supposed to get 2 orders of garlic knots. We only got one, and with garlic powder. No fresh garlic. When the waitress was questioned, she stated that I was disrespectful, which I wasn't. I simply questioned that the last time I was there we got garlic knots with fresh garlic. The owner then came out and argued with my sister saying that "consistency is key," to all their food and that they NEVER put fresh garlic on their garlic knots. He essentially blamed Gianna for offering us free garlic with the garlic knots. Weird, any other respectable restaurant would provide fresh garlic on their knots, even the cheapest Italian restaurants in town. His response...... "I'm not going to stand here and argue with you." to my sister , over garlic? Are you that cheap that you can't afford fresh garlic on the garlic knots? At that point I was feeling very uncomfortable and decided I didn't want my linguine with clam sauce because I don't know what he did with my food back there in the kitchen. I advised the waitress that I no longer wanted my food because he can't be trusted and the way he was confrontational, there's no telling what he would do. He came back out to the restaurant area and was extremely hostile and confrontational. Of course, it's 3 women sitting at a table, and he was feeling very masculine at that point. He was in my face, and once my friend started filming, he backed off. The video posted below is after he got in my face, but he stated he "has cameras in his restaurant." Let's see if he provides proof that he didn't get in my face. Not once did I get up and do anything that would warrant a man getting within inches of my face, a woman's face, and start saying that I will pay for my meal. I then proceeded to call the cops because there was no way I was going to pay for a meal I didn't consume. I was advised by the police officer that I would need to pay for the meal and handle it as a civil matter in court. I did that, but I have my receipts. Word of advice for all the customers out there in the Lehigh Valley area, especially the women who dine alone or with female friends: don't go to this restaurant. The owner is confrontational and very intimidating. He treats women like subservient people. Don't say I didn't warn you. Good luck! read more

1st time at this establishment. Our server was on top of everything with quick service. She was friendly with a great smile. As a chef, the portion size was great. Actually, 1 plate was good for 2. The veal was cooked to perfection, not chewy the picata sauce great with the right balance of Capers to lemon and garlic. Rough start. A waitress asked if we had reservations in a not so great tone. I explained that we were from out of town and didn't know we needed one. Under her breath you could tell she was annoyed. Anyway, Jennifer was excellent and explained the reservation fiasco. (It wasn't necessary but recommended. Big difference). Food was excellent. The only negative would be the acoustics. Started coming here about a year ago. First couple times everything was fine. The last two times were not what we would have hoped. The first instance was when we ordered a meatball pizza and added sausage. The pizza came out and we took a few bites only to realize there was no meatball. No meatball on the meatball pizza???  We asked the server who then went back to the kitchen asking if we could just get a few slices of meatball cut up and we said we would just add it to the pizza ourselves. Much to our surprise, the server came back and said the chef said he couldn't do that as they were out of meatball. The server looked confused and surprised too by the response. Why wouldn't you say something to the customer so they could make another choice?  Why serve a meatball pizza without the meatball???  Here's where it got better. About 10 minutes later, an order of meatballs was served to the table behind us. No lie. Really?  Why?  Can't the chef just admit they made a mistake and make it right?  Apparently not. Second instance, we ordered the Fruitti di Mare (clams, mussels, shrimp, etc over pasta) and some raviolis. The raviolis were cold but I said no biggie, I will eat them anyway. The seafood dish- half of the mussels (yes half of the dish) came out with unopened shells. Who would serve that? We asked about it and the server told us the chef said that they are cooked. That's it. The couple next to us looked surprised. Then their order came out wrong. Nothing the way they ordered it. Not the server's fault. It was the kitchen again. I think that will be it for us with this place. Fiamma, here we come.  Server gets 5 stars. The rest, forget it. read more

Very yummy. Used for catering for summer party and there wasn't one bite left. My favorite is the eggplant rollatini and chicken piccata.

Great ambiance, service and food. Can't miss if you want great Italian food. No exaggeration.

We ordered catering for our son's high school graduation party and it was awesome. We've always enjoyed the food ourselves (both eat in and takeout), and our friends kept telling us how good the food was at the party. People are still raving about the meatballs a week later. read more

Food was good, generous portions, reasonably priced. But I'm here to sing the praises of our server, Jessica. We were a party of 14 adults and 3 kids, and we asked for separate checks for half a dozen households, with couples not seated together. Jessica somehow flawlessly kept track of all the food and drink orders and charged everything to the right people. She did it all with wonderful good humor that contributed to the festive atmosphere of the gathering, and not the slightest sign of stress. Truly a shining star among restaurant servers. read more

The experience here is always top of the line. Everything from the garlic knots to the dolce mamma meat balls and right down to the risotto... all amazing. This is a cozy yet modern spot in Bethlehem that serves great food, has fast service and you can always count on being greater with a warm welcome. Moved here recently and was thrilled to have an Italian restaurant so close. We were going there a few times a month. Service and food has progressively gone down hill. We go in the place and its maybe half full. Hostess says do you have reservations. I say no, I tried to call and no one answered, in fact the line disconnect after ringing for a while. She looked at me in disgust. We said we would like to sit outside, 2 parties in front of us also went outside. Wait staff didn't know what to do with everyone at once. They had 4 servers for maybe 10 tables. Not a bad ratio. We were approached by multiple servers, not knowing who was supposed to take our table. A young man took our drink order, then a tall man, maybe the manager, brought us silverware and ask for our drink order. When we said we were already being helped, he took the silverware and walked away. So he left us with no silverware, I guess that is someone else's problem. While sitting there another waitress was getting left-over boxes for the table next to us. I guess they asked for another box and while walking by me she said $h1T very loud. Extremely unprofessional. The place feels like no one was ever trained to be a server and no one cares. Oh and the food was not so good either. Both Chicken Picata and Chicken Francaise came out and looked exactly the same. Salads were on tiny little plates. Maybe the owner needs to be more involved to get this place back on track. read more

Went with a party of 6 for my husband's birthday. Four in our party had never been there and we told them how good the food is. Sorry to say that after this experience I don't think any of us will be returning. The service we experienced was terrible. Firstly, they don't know how to manage their food service. One person in our party had her pizza come out 20 min before the rest of the meals. Secondly, when they did come out I was served the wrong meal which meant I had to wait another 20 min. Thirdly, the waitress had to be asked for a bowl for seafood shells and the 2nd round of beer was sitting at the bar until we got up and asked for it. She then said our drinks and dessert would be on her. Since we were only drinking club soda and had dessert planned at home my husband asked for my meal to be taken off the bill. The owner/cook came out and became belligerent after I suggested it may have been the kitchen's fault rather than the waitress. I'm sure other tables heard him accuse me of calling him " a liar". Even though my meal was taken off, who speaks to paying customers that way? The service you get is just as important as the quality of food (which I'd decent). Maybe this is the reason there were a lot of open tables on a Saturday night. I would suggest anyone looking for a job here look elsewhere because he can't be a good person to work for. Maybe the waitress was having a bad night, mistakes happen. But the owner doesn't know how to rectify problems in a civil manner. read more
