I visited Italy a few months ago and have been on the hunt for gelato that comes close to what I had there--and this place is probably the closest I've found so far. The pistachio flavor was incredibly creamy, decadent, and nutty, with just the right touch of sweetness. The matcha was on the milder side and lacked a strong matcha flavor, but overall, this is probably my favorite spot in town for pistachio gelato. I'm definitely coming back to try more flavors. The shop has both indoor and outdoor seating, with a cute and cozy interior. It's a great casual spot to hang out with friends after dinner. The service was excellent--staff were friendly and eager to help.

I think dolce neve has decent gelato, albiet its not my favorite in Austin. I'm also a major waffle cone girly, and dolce neve's cone is straight up not good- it tastes stale and flavorless/not buttery. On my most recent visit, I got the buttermilk strawberry and chocolate hazelnut flavors. I think the flavors are good, but the texture isn't as creamy and full bodied as other high quality gelato places. I also sampled the pistachio, which is normally my go-to here. I think dolce neve used to be better when I was still in college, but this spot is still a staple and nostalgic gelato place to go to when in Austin. The service is pretty good- they tend to each person and let you try as many samples as you want. Interior is small and parking lot is small, but isn't this the case everywhere in Austin LOL

This is the cutest little shop! It feels like a tiny little home. I love the vibe - cute & quaint. The gelato is solid. Decent portion sizes too! They have different flavors at different times. For example, as we were leaving, they put out a pineapple sorbet. I would definitely go back to continue trying new flavors! The shop also serves coffee. It's a cool place to do work or study. They have wifi, but I would come with a charged device as I don't recall there being too many outlets.

My husband and I came to Austin for work and decided to spend the day here and was craving something sweet. We stopped at the right place, we got the pint that came with 3 flavors. We didn't even leave the parking lot before we dug into it. Definitely recommend it, we sampled a few others and another flavor I enjoyed was Jasmine Tea! Nice taken care of establishment. We will be back to try some more.

We walked over for dessert after having dinner nearby! The lady working was so sweet with conversation and suggestions. They offer a lot of unique flavors. It is on the more expensive size given portion but it is tasty and fresh! They have a few tables to sit at or you can take to go. I recommend checking it out!

One of my favorite flavors in general is pistachio and this is the place to get REAL pistachio gelato, not the artificially flavored, green kind (: Paired the pistachio with vanilla and 70% chocolate. Would recommend trying this spot! Added bonus: they also have pistachio butter for sale!!

I love gelato and had to finally come try this place and it did not disappoint. We sampled the almond custard, orange peel chocolate and peaches and cream and all were delicious. Ended up going with the chocolate orange peel which had proper orange peel pieces in it YUM and almond custard which was nice and smooth and lightly flavored almond. $6 for a small which is kinda steep but I'll definitely be back to try some of their other flavors.

My family and I visited Dolce Neve. We drove around to the side and back of the building for parking. When we walked in we were kindly greeted by two young women working behind the counter. They both answered our questions regarding the flavors and explained a little bit about what will be coming soon. When we asked about the flavors they told us that we could try some on taster spoons. I chose to get a small cup which you can get two flavors in. I decided to try the Crema Dolce Neve which is a custard with lemon zest in it. I also tried the vanilla. Both the custard and gelato were good. The custard with lemon zest was flavorful and not overly citrusy. The custard and the gelato were smooth and creamy. The inside was well lit and there was seating available both inside and outside. It was a cool place to try a cold treat with good service and good gelato.

Stopped by Dolce Neve on a warm January afternoon after lunch. The parking lot was completely full, there is only room for about 4 cars, and there was a bit of a line inside as well. There was only one person working in the front, so it took about 15 minutes. I noticed there was variety of flavors, some pretty unique too. Overall, I did really enjoy the gelato/sorbet here, the hojicha tasted like sweetened green tea, but not too sweet and not bitter either. The grapefruit sorbet was really refreshing with the perfect amount of grapefruit bitterness that it tasted authentic and still enjoyable.

Great little spot to grab an after dinner dessert. Parking is in the back. The lady that helped us was really sweet. We tried lots of flavors before landing on cappuccinos + stracciatella/vanilla from Madagascar. The gelato was creamy and delicious.

Amaaazing freshly sourced gelatos and sorbets with daily rotating flavors. I spotted this place while taking obligatory touristy photos with the "Greetings from Austin" mural nearby, and stopped by on a whim thanks to the ridonkulous heat. They had freakin' yellow watermelon sorbet (!!!) so I already knew I was in for a treat, but as I kept sampling, it got harder and harder to choose. But I got the medium size and was able to pick three different flavors, so I also went with organic mint and goat cheese and pecan. Each flavor was so tasty and struck the perfect balance between sweetness and highlighting the fresh ingredients. The yellow watermelon sorbet was so refreshing and light, and the goat cheese and pecan gelato was right up my wheelhouse: creamy and a bit savory/tangy. I wish NYC had a location! Our frozen-desserts competition is stiff, but Dolce Neve honestly became one of my favorite dessert spots from this visit alone.

I know its gelato and not technically ice cream but.. Dolce Neve is my favorite ice cream. I have a near obsession with the Mascarpone and Matcha flavor. Its pretty much the best thing you could ever hope to have. Its so creamy coats your tongue and just has the best mouth feel ever. All of the cheese flavors are amazing: Mascarpone and Figs Ricotta, Honey and Pistachio Goat Cheese and Pecan Goat Cheese and Blueberry Jam Fromage Blanc and Apricot Jam If they have any of those flavors when you go in that's what you want. Keep up the amazing work Dolce Neve. I love you.

I've been there 2 times but I tryed gelato just one time. This place is so cute and cozy! This is why I decided to go inside at the first time. Gelato is good and not too sweet. Cone is a good choice instead cup! Parking is not charged. Just few tables and seats inside but I got a table easily. Staff is friendly!! I'll be back soon to try other flavors. If you are visiting and taking pictures of the postcard mural between 1st street and Anna Street this place is a good option to grab a coffee and get a ice cream! It's pretty close there! read more

I live near Round Rock and still find myself driving down to this location to see what new flavors they have. It is a bit pricey, but that just makes me get a smaller portion and savor each bite more. If you are an ice cream traditionalist (vanilla, chocolate, etc.), don't be scared to try the flavors here. They have free samples for all the flavors! read more

Best Ice cream I've had in Texas and perhaps in America (and I love ice cream). No joke it's incredible! Worth the wait. Once it was my turn I tried every flavor and took my time. My opinion is that if you wait a while in line for something then you've earned taking your time when its your turn! The staff was super friendly and if I could, I'd go back everyday and twice on Sunday! Ten thumbs up for this place read more

I came here on my trip to Austin and I experienced some of the worst service I have ever experienced. The server was so rude I was bewildered--after asking for a sample, the server said "are you actually going to buy anything" and then they rolled their eyes. Is this a gelato establishment or a high school for babies? I would really like to know the answer to this question. read more

Parking can be a bit tricky but it's definitely worth it! The employees were very friendly and helpful in explaining everything and letting you sample anything. Prices where a little high on some things but you can taste the quality, the portions where good and you can sample multiple flavors in one size I would recommend this place and visit again hands down read more

Wow this gelato was amazing. The texture was ON POINT. None of this icy freezer dried nonsense I've been tasting everywhere. The flavors pierced through each bite. I saw one of the girls stir in more ingredients to make the gelato base. It is that fresh. Give the pistachio and hazelnut a try. It tasted so fresh, as if you picked those nuts from a tree and churned them into ice cream! The ricotta and pistachio has a good hint of pistachio in it. I came in a group of 6, and we all got different flavors. And everything was BOMB. You can't go wrong read more

This might be some of the best gelato I ever had. Met the owner, I believe his name was Marco, who discussed how some of the gelato was made. Incredible and friendly staff. Highly recommend getting the goat cheese and strawberry gelato, or the granita. Will come back for sure! read more

I'm a gelato loving freak and Dolce Neve delivered the goods. For those that like Dark Chocolate, theirs was excellent. I paired that with their in-house orange peel ricotta flavor (I forget the name) and it was spectacular. Much much tastier than the Amy's someone brought me the other night. read more

Absolutely the best gelato I've ever had in Austin. It's also nice that there's some parking and enough bistro tables inside and out to enjoy your scoop. They serve espresso drinks as well, but be forewarned that they do not offer decaf. read more

Wow. We love the rustic feel, perfectly lined up plants pressed against the window, and the sweet ambience. The staff is very friendly and approachable. Not very many seats but perfect on a quiet afternoon like today. The gelato is TO DIE FOR-- everyone can find his or her perfect match. We recommend the tiramisu flavor that subtly resembles NYC's famous banana pudding from Magnolia Bakery. The texture is beautifully bready tasting. Super cute gelato shop with a myriad of interesting flavors! Shop keepers are very nice and friendly. I went with a group of friends and we were able to sample many different flavors before we made a definitive choice. I decided to go with the stracciatella dipped in dark chocolate. It's basically a chocolate chip in vanilla gelato all dipped in a wonderful thick coat of dark chocolate and presented on a stick. It was magical. Crunchy on the outside and smooth and creamy on the inside. However, this place -is- a bit pricey but worth the splurge in my opinion! :) read more

The staff is super friendly and the gelato is great! I love the vibe this place has. The gelato has an amazing texture, lighter than ice cream but perhaps even more satisfying. They have nice complex flavors that aren't overloading, and I believe they change season to season. Their espresso is also really rich and easy to drink. While they could use some more seating and some more parking, they still get five stars from me!! read more

I looooove this place. Wasn't a gelato fan honestly until I tried some from Numero 28. They have a huge selection here and allow you to sample everything. The portion sizes are deceivingly large (personally a small is enough for me but I always get the medium portion since I'm greedy and it's so delicious! Parking is a pain if the spots in the back are taken. read more

This place is just phenomenal. Perhaps the best gelato in America with fresh, local, often organic ingredients made daily by an Italian family. I am especially fond of the chocolate with orange peel, as well as the nut flavors like walnut and almond, but any visit guarantees something good from their ever-new and rotating flavors. I would encourage you to try even the flavors which might seem strange or experimental--they almost always pull it off well. The cappuccinos are also good. read more

We lucked out with parking tonight so we took the opportunity to have dessert here after our dinner. Hubby had the goat cheese & pecans with tiramisù while I tried the mascarpone & lemon along with lemon & verbena. .. I don't know much about gelato other than the "Paciugo's" chain, but this place is the bomb.com and seems super authentic. I couldn't even pronounce majority of the flavors, but it was totally worth it. I ended up getting green tea & stracciatella and the flavors were indulging. The atmosphere is super cute, they have plenty of succulents. I like plants. IT WAS AWESOME K BYE read more

It was delicious but not lifechanging. I tried most of the flavors and they were definitely good. I had the dulce neve(yellow), sweet corn and blueberry and chocolate 70%. The total came out to $5.60 for a medium. I would recommend the medium bc the small( which is significantly smaller) is around $4.50. The place is super cute with a small porch area out front for ppl to sit and hangout. Parking is tight, with some spots in the back. read more

Austin is such a cool foodie town. We are thankful for Dolce Neve for satisfying our sweet tooth after all the amazing "regular food" we eat when visiting! This place does not disappoint. It is located in a quaint little house, parking in the back, seating inside, cute and upbeat employees and most important of all....legit awesome gelato, excellent ice cream bars and ice cream sandwiches too! We go every night - it's that good. A really memorable flavor was the dark chocolate with orange peel. It sounds kind of weird, but it was amazing. All of their flavors are excellent - we usually get 3 in a cup and share. If you only hit one dessert place in Austin, this should be the one. read more

Came here for a pick-up after a hard day and this place was perfect. This place is so cute! There is seating outside and inside, and the outside seating is all pink, which I loved. I love that this place is reasonably priced, especially for gelato, and liked the variety of flavors. I tried the mascarpone + fig, nectarine sorbet, tiramisu, and the chocolate 70%, all of which I loved. The flavors itself were very bold but not overpowering, and I liked that they had a variety of flavors and seasonal flavors that brought a nice twist. I like that each flavor was unique and you could taste the different components, such as the finely chopped tiramisu bites or the sweet "cheesiness" from the mascarpone. The chocolate flavor tasted so fresh and local, I could tell it was nice quality. My favorite was the nectarine sorbet, which I didn't think I would love that much, but it was soo fresh, fruity and sweet (especially for a hot day!) The only con I have is that I don't think the gelato itself was as smooth/creamy as I wanted but honestly, the flavors are so good, it doesn't really matter. read more

Dolce Neve is top notch. Service is great, the space is clean, and the gelato is phenomenal. Unlike many places, the gelato is not overly sweet. The milk and flavors really come through. The best ice-cream in Austin. They do not have the same flavors everyday, but all of them are awesome. My favourite flavors are Chocolate with orange peels, Chocolate with sea salt and Dolce Neve. They are so creamy and delicious. My wife loves Afogato which is coffee with a ball of ice-cream. Enjoy them! read more

Disappointed * Consistency of the "gelato" which is ice cream, was grainy not soft. When ice cream don't melt soon it's not a good sign... gelato are hidden and customer can't see how it looks like ore not. I couldn't taste the flavor of the tiramisu and didn't taste fresh... This is a comment from an Italian. Sorry but I won't come back here to have "ice cream" read more

I know many Austinites have an undying loyalty to a local ice cream chain but it simply does not compare to Gelato Paradiso (unless you're my husband and can't get enough of Mexican vanilla). The pistachio gelato is intensely nutty, perfectly smooth, and easily my favorite. The raspberry is a close second - packed with fruity flavor and the texture is somehow thick n creamy despite being a sorbet. It'll be hard for me to peel away from these two options, but samples of the dark chocolate and salted caramel were also so good. Ask for two flavors if you can't decide, the servers are happy to help. Not a ton of seating/standing options but there are benches right outside. Love the little window that lets us peek into the kitchen where the magic is made. Shoutout Baldinucci Pizza Romana forever and ever for introducing me to the wonderful Gelato Paradiso! Will be back for lots more this summer!

They said they couldn't use that purchase towards points so that was a bummer. Otherwise a great time and will be back! It's so delish.

Keep your eyes peeled if you're coming here because it's easy to drive past it without realizing. The shop is actually pretty cute from the inside and outside with plenty of parking in the back. The workers are friendly and make sure you sample as many flavors as you need before making that crucial decision. In my opinion, the gelato was very tasty. Some of the flavors I've tried include: chocolate with candied orange peels, almond custard, marscarpone and lemon, organic hazelnut and crema dolce neve. I have to say, my favorite was the chocolate with candied orange peels because the flavor combination of chocolate and orange is fail proof. What's awesome about this place is that they not only serve gelato, they also offer other frozen desserts such as Italian shaved ice, affogatos and gelato sandwiches. When you're ever craving a cup of non-dairy creamer mixed with just a bit of tea, this place is where you should go. After the first few time of getting their cream teas and going home with gut wrenching stomach aches I started ordering their drinks half sweet, and half creamer. With it that way, the drinks are decent. But the recent times I've been here and been served by the current/newer staff have left me less satisfied. Either it's a wrong order, they miss me saying half sweet/creamer, or even neglecting to mention they are out of tapioca til my drink comes out(even though I ordered it with tapioca). I love, love, love that they let you sample to your heart's content until settling on one of their delicious flavors. This little ice cream shop belongs in candy land. It is absolutely adorable and just walking in made me so happy! However the ice cream was nothing amazing...the flavors were okay, but nothing that I would come back for. If it wasn't for the perfect decor, I probably would not have enjoyed the ice cream much. It was "gelato" but it didn't really taste like gelato, more like average ice cream. And honestly, the kind you get in a tub in a store is probably better. Cute, cozy establishment that serves some pretty special gelato. The flavors are simple and understated, but inventive in a way, and pair extremely nicely with the creamy, soft texture of the gelato itself. Just WOW!!!!! The best gelato I have had since I moved from Argentina. You cannot go wrong with any of their flavors. My personal favorite are the ones with cheese (ricotta honey and pistachio is fantastic) and their dark chocolate 70%. I also had their waffle cones (if you are lucky, you may be able to get one just made). They are so much better than anything else in Austin (and probably in the US).
